Just when we thought we heard the last of the bombshells and drama with the Sussexes and the royal family, a new documentary could bring everything up all over again.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have worked to reinvent themselves after they spent years airing out the royals’ dirty laundry. When the couple sensed public fatigue in hearing about how they were victims, the Sussexes vowed to stop talking about the duke’s relatives and have stuck to that so far this year. But a new documentary in the works will reportedly offer insights into the lives of the duke and duchess and could have Harry’s family bracing for another attack.

Just before Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their royal duties, there were rumblings that all was not well between the Duke of Sussex and his brother, Prince William. After the Sussexes stepped down, things seemed to go from bad to worse. And at some point, Harry decided to air out dirty laundry during televised interviews, a Netflix documentary, and in print via his memoir Spare.
For anyone waiting to hear William’s side of things, don’t hold your breath. The Prince of Wales has stayed in line with the family’s “never complain, never explain” policy and hasn’t responded to any of his sibling’s claims. But we don’t need William to say anything to know that he is upset with his brother for trying to severely damage and bring down the monarchy — a monarchy that his future and the future of...

In the latest major M&a deal to hit Europe, Fremantle has acquired Asacha Media Group, the growing owner of Death in Paradise producer Red Planet, Arrow Media and Italy’s Stand By Me.
Fremantle owner Rtl said the super-indie has spent more than €200M ($216M) on Asacha plus 80% of Singapore’s Beach House Pictures since the start of this year and is now well on track to reach its lofty €3B ($3.2B) revenue target by 2025. Rtl didn’t break down how much Asacha and Beach House cost individually.
Asacha was only founded in 2020 but has since acquired eight labels and rapidly expanded its footprint across Europe.
The deal sees Fremantle acquire the group from Asacha’s founding partners, managers and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management.
Following the acquisition, which is subject to customary closing conditions, Asacha will continue to be run by Co-Founder and Group CEO Gaspard de Chavagnac...

Fremantle has backed the new indie forged by Channel 4’s former entertainment boss Phil Harris.
Harris has unveiled Boldprint Studios and Fremantle, his former employer, has taken a minority stake.
Deadline revealed Harris’ departure several months ago and we understand he had for a long time planned to set up his own production outfit. He has also signed a Creative Director, Lou Hutchinson, who used to be the Head of Entertainment at I Kissed a Boy producer Twofour.
Harris said Boldprint will “be built on creating bold, scalable global formats; an ambition which aligns perfectly with Fremantle’s global distribution plans.”
Fremantle UK CEO Amelia Brown, who herself was set to exit the Britain’s Got Talent maker last year, said Harris and Hutchinson have “been behind some of the most talked about and cutting-edge shows of recent years and we are thrilled to welcome them back to the Fremantle...

The holidays are a time of year when people get together with their families and loved ones to celebrate the festive period, and that’s no different for the royals. But after some back and forth on whether or not Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and their two children would get an invite to Sandringham to stay with the duke’s relatives for Christmas, it’s a foregone conclusion that’s not happening.
Many royal watchers predicted this as Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) are said to be extremely angry with the Sussexes and aren’t ready to sit down for Christmas dinner together. Now though it’s being reported that King Charles feels the same way because seeing Meghan and Harry would make him very “nervous” about something.

When Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their roles as working royals they did not go quietly. They began tossing verbal grenades at Harry’s family from afar in interviews, through their Netflix docuseries, and the prince’s memoir Spare.
Now, there are reports that the Duke of Sussex could be trying to maneuver his way back into the royal fold, but at least one expert believes that’s not happening if other members of the Firm can help it.
King Charles and Prince Harry could get ‘back to a good place’ if all the mudslinging stops
Amid reports that Harry would like to return to the U.K. for the holidays days after the duke said he was not invited back for his father’s 75th birthday, royal commentator Russell Myers discussed what his sources have told him about the relations between the monarch and his youngest son.

Once upon a time Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William, and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) were the Fab Four of the royal family. But while much of the public was excited about the direction the group would take the monarchy in the future, all was not well behind the scenes.
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised just about everyone when they announced that they were stepping down from their roles within the Firm. One year after their final engagement, royal watchers were shocked again when the pair sat down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss what life was like for them behind palace walls. During that interview, the duo painted some of Harry’s relatives in a bad light. Since then Harry has only returned to his home country a handful of times, and Meghan has been back even less than that.

We’ve seen some pretty tense moments between royal family members over the few years, especially after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down.
The dynamic between the Sussexes and working members of the Firm was awkward at best during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. And relations did not improve at the late monarch’s funeral three months later. Things got so bad following the release of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries and the prince’s memoir Spare that the Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales weren’t seated near each other at King Charles III’s coronation to avoid cameras capturing any sideways glances or further signs of their rift.

Considering everything that happened leading up to those moments, such levels of tension were to be expected.

The captain of the F/V Cornelia Marie was a fixture on the Discovery Channel series in its early seasons, but he died suddenly in 2010 at the age of 53.

One of these attempts at reconciliation was Charles’ plan to honor Harry and Meghan’s son, Archie, at the coronation lunch. But with Meghan rejecting the invitation, Charles has reportedly scrapped mentioning Archie at all.

That was the year the royal family and other guests in attendance took precautions and refrained from shaking hands amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. It was also Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s last royal engagement. The tension between the Sussexes and other members of the family inside the church that day didn’t go noticed. There were reports that Harry was even holding back tears. Here’s what the Duke of Sussex revealed about that day.

As if Prince Andrew wasn’t already disgraced enough, a musical TV special is set to satirize the embattled British royal still further.
Featuring Harry Enfield, one of Britain’s best-known impressionists, “Prince Andrew: The Musical” will focus “on the key events, relationships and controversies of Andrew’s life, including a reimagining of the former-hrh’s bombshell interview with Emily Maitlis,” according to the logline.
Andrew’s disastrous 2019 interview with then “Newsnight” anchor Maitlis was widely mocked and condemned and proved to be the catalyst in Andrew’s banishment from public life.

If you are a fan of classic Hollywood movie musicals, there is a strong chance you have probably had the debate: Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire? It's a silly debate, obviously, but pitting the two premiere tap-dancing leading men of some of the most loved films of all time against each other is a classic cinephile's version of, "Who would win in a fight, Superman or Wonder Woman?" If I have to choose, I choose Gene, but I have nothing against Fred. Despite their unparalleled hoofing skills, I go to the two men for completely different things. When I want athleticism and relatability, I go for Gene. When I want precision in both movement and story, I go for Fred.
Fred Astaire is undeniably Hollywood legend, thanks in large part to his on-screen chemistry with the equally delightful Ginger Rogers, but his path to stardom was not an obvious one.

“If I told you how nice he was, you wouldn’t believe it,” Beckoff said.
Storch was great friends with Tony Curtis — a fellow New Yorker whom he met when they served aboard a submarine tender in the U.S. Navy — and they appeared together in The Prince Who Was a Thief (1951), Who Was That Lady? (1960), 40 Pounds of Trouble (1962), Captain Newman, M.D. (1963), Sex...

Fremantle’s Fiction Valley Ties With ‘Dirty Lines’ Creator Pieter Bart Korthuis
Fremantle label Fiction Valley has struck a three-year deal with Netflix’s Dirty Lines creator and showrunner Pieter Bart Korthuis. The agreement will see Fiction Valley, which is run by Annemike van Vliet, develop and produce a slate of scripted drama series from Korthuis, one of Holland’s leading creatives. The pair have already tied on Dirty Lines, Netflix’s series about late-1980s Amsterdam and Korthuis’ other work includes political series The Year of Fortuyn and Penoza. Fiction Valley’s credits include Suspects and a remake of The A-Word. “Pieter’s extraordinary talent as creator, writer, director and showrunner is unique and beyond limits,” said van Vliet. Striking talent deals and acquiring labels is a key plank of Fremantle’s strategy at the moment and the group signed a landmark deal with Angelina Jolie earlier this year.

‘Scared Of The Dark’: Celebrities To Live Without Light For A Week In Latest Channel 4 Global Format
Celebrities will live in the dark for a week in a Channel 4 format from British formats veteran Glenn Hugill’s Possessed and MultiStory Media, the latest to be commissioned by the network’s Global Format Fund.
In Scared of the Dark (working title), the celebrities will base themselves in a specially-created pitch-black reality space, living in complete and total darkness.
They will have to endure the unique pressures of light deprivation as well as adapting to performing daily tasks and undertaking a series of thought-provoking challenges. If they can quell their fears and perform well in the intense challenges, these celebrities could earn themselves a brief respite in the light.
“Channel 4 has always been home to some of the most outlandish and boundary-pushing reality creations and Scared of the Dark is a commission firmly in that tradition,” said Head of Entertainment and Events Phil Harris, who commissioned the series from the Global Format Fund,...

If the Discovery Channel was angling for a hit show, then they hauled it in with the “Deadliest Catch,” which premiered in 2005 and has aired every year since.
The documentary series, narrated by Mike Rowe, follows crab fishermen and crab boats as they ply their dangerous and sometimes deadly trade in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and snow crab fishing seasons. The base for the crab fleet is the Aleutian Islands port of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
Through the years of the TV show’s airing, it has proven popular around the globe, making the skippers, their crewman, and their boats, celebrities in their own right.
This year’s season, which kicks off with a two-hour premiere on April 19, finds the crews of nine crab vessels trying to cope with the Alaskan government shutting down red king crab catching for the season. You’ll also find them contending with the usual treacherous seas,...
