Detlef was born in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) in 1972.
He is married to Almut Halaski since 1995. They have 5 children.
After graduating high school he started to study physics but changed later to Audio Engineering. In 1994 he began to work at Geyer Berlin as ADR-Mixer, Technician, Sound-Designer, Re-Recording_Mixer. 20 Years later he decided to change to an other Company. Since than he works at Cinephon Filmproduktion as head of the sound department and officer with procuration.
Up to 2020 he is responsible for working at more than 300 Titles such as Avatar, Inception, Hunger Games, Life of Pi, Lucy etc.
