Peacemaker Season 2 Stills Highlight The Returning Cast And Rick Flag Sr.; Michael Rooker Spotted In Trailer
Image
DC Studios released the first trailer for Peacemaker season 2 earlier today (watch it here if you missed it). While the presence of Maxwell Lord, Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl is a huge talking point, the preview featuring not one, but two Peacemakers is another.

We can safely say that there's a Multiversal component at play. However, we'd imagine this has something to do with the pocket dimension we first visited in season 1, rather than being a convoluted way of explaining how Christopher Smith ends up in the Dcu.

Still, we can't discount that, and fans have spotted The Suicide Squad star Michael Rooker in the sneak peek. Is the Guardians of the Galaxy star reprising his role as Savant—the cowardly villain who had his head blown off by Amanda Waller in the 2021 movie—or playing someone else entirely?

We'd guess it's the latter as Rooker is seemingly playing...

Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer: John Cena Faces John Cena In James Gunn’s R-Rated Dcu Show
Image
Christopher Smith and the 11th Street Kids are back! Three years after John Cena's muscle-bound, gun-toting, ultra-violent super-dummy emerged from being shot and buried under a collapsing building in The Suicide Squad to head up a new morally dubious black ops unit in Peacemaker Season 1, James Gunn's r-rated show is readying its return to our screens. And with the Dceu dead and the dawn of the Dcu nigh, the newly released trailer for Season 2 — the first live-action offering from DC Studios — is a real statement of intent from Gunn. Just check out the teaser below to see what we mean;

Hoo boy! This one doesn't fuck about, does it? No sooner has the DC Studios ident dropped than we see Christopher 'Peacemaker' Smith being laughed out of a superhero job interview by Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Green Lantern Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), three Dcu...

Image
Max has set Thursday, August 21 for the Season 2 premiere of James Gunn’s Peacemaker, from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television.

The streamer also released the first full trailer, which opens with John Cena’s Chris/Peacemaker being grilled by Justice League’s Green Lantern/Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders (Isabel Merced) and Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn).

“Can you tell us a little about your skills,” asks Green Lantern, to which Peacemaker/Chris replies “I’m considered the finest marksman in the world,” “Microphone is off?” we hear Hawkgirl say. Cena’s Chris continues touting his skills, saying “I am also proficient in hand-to-hand combat.” But the three are not impressed. At one point we hear “This guy sucks”.

Peacemaker spoofs the Dceu and multiverse in first teaser for season 2
Image
James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Extended Universe is kicking off in style this year. We already knew that Gunn's Superman movie is coming out on July 11. Now we have confirmation that the second season of Peacemaker will follow soon after; it starts streaming on Max on August 21.

The return of Peacemaker is very exciting for fans who enjoyed the first season of the show, which stars John Cena as the dysfunctional antihero Chris Smith, aka Peacemaker. It premiered all the way back in 2022, when Gunn was still working with Marvel on Guardians of the Galaxy and only moonlighting for DC. Now he's one of the people running the show, and he's pulling all the levers to make Peacemaker not only another fun romp, but also an interconnected piece of this new cinematic universe. Check out the first teaser trailer, which dropped today:

John Cena, Vigilante and Eagly Are Back (and Kicking Ass) in ’Peacemaker’ Season 2 Teaser
Image
For DC, this will be the summer of Superman (July 21) — but Clark Kent and Krypto the Superdog got nothing on Chris Smith and Eagly. Ok, so they’ve got like a bunch of better powers, it’s true. The point is, summer 2025 also marks the return of Peacemaker to Max.

On Friday, Max released its teaser for Peacemaker season two. John Cena is back as the low-key nicest antihero (of sorts) in the comic book business; with him are trusty sidekicks Eagly and Vigilante (Freddie Stroma). Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick also return for season two. New cast members include Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez and Tim Meadows.

Cena plays Peacemaker, real name Christopher Smith, who continues to “reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost,” per the show’s logline.

Peacemaker Season 2 First Trailer Features Maxwell Lord, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, And More Of The New Dcu
Image
James Gunn has shared the first trailer for Peacemaker season 2, and it opens with John Cena's former Task Force X member attempting to join the ranks of Maxwell Lord's superhero team (believed to be called the "Justice Gang" based on Superman toy leaks).

Lord is flanked by Green Lantern Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl, neither of whom seems particularly impressed by Peacemaker. We also learn more about Rick Flag Sr.'s plans for the man who murdered his son in The Suicide Squad, though this doesn't look like a typical revenge mission.

There's also a huge surprise at the end of the trailer as we see a second Peacemaker! It seems there will be a Multiversal component to the series, perhaps meaning the Dceu's Christopher Smith travels to the Dcu.

According to a newly released synopsis for Peacemaker season 2, "The new season follows Christopher 'Chris' Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante...

Christopher Smith at an event for Severance (2006)
John Cena and his crew wreck shop, go to therapy and get multiversal in the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser trailer
Christopher Smith at an event for Severance (2006)
Believe it or not, saving the day is often a thankless job. We want to think that bags of cash, a ticker-tape parade, and a key to the city that isn’t chocolate underneath the surface follow in the wake of superheroics. However, more often than not, it’s business as usual with your acts of derring-do as a footnote in someone else’s story. Unfortunately for Christopher Smith and his rag-tag team, they’re about to find out just how hard it is to get the credit they deserve in today’s teaser trailer for Peacemaker Season 2!

Does anyone else feel they’ve aged 1000 years since Peacemaker‘s Season 1 debut in January 2022? After months of teasing the show’s return, our first look at Peacemaker and the 11th Street Kids is finally here, and it’s a hell of a ride. In the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser trailer, Chris blows...

The Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer Reveals A Surprise Appearance From A Green Lantern
Image
The 11th Street Kids are back, baby, and it feels so good. The trailer for season 2 of James Gunn's Max series "Peacemaker" is finally here, and it's great to see the gang back in action after they managed to stop both extraterrestrial body snatchers and a white supremacist supervillain at the end of "Peacemaker" season 1. John Cena's Christopher Smith, A.K.A. the titular Peacemaker, still had plenty to figure out about the world when last we saw him, though he had learned that friendship and his found family could help him become a better man. Now, in season 2, it looks like he's going to have to deal with an entirely different kind of daddy issues when he's confronted by Rick Flag, Sr. (Frank Grillo), the father of Peacemaker's hero Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), who Chris killed during the events of "The Suicide Squad" before his big change of heart.

Image
Team Peacemaker is finally back.

John Cena’s very R-rated DC superhero has returned in the first trailer for “Peacemaker” Season 2, created by DC Studios co-chief James Gunn. The sophomore season takes place in the rebooted DC Universe, which officially kicked off with Gunn’s animated series “Creature Commando” and continues with his summer tentpole “Superman.” Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner and Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl cameo in the trailer and will appear in “Superman.”

The first “Peacemaker” season released in 2022 on Max (back when it was called HBO Max) and was a spinoff of Gunn’s 2021 “The Suicide Squad” movie. There's No "I" In "Peace" On First Poster For Peacemaker Season 2; First Trailer Arrives Tomorrow

The first poster for Peacemaker season 2 has been released, with the trailer now confirmed for tomorrow. Some of you may be disappointed that this is getting a push before Superman's first full trailer lands, but the Man of Steel did recently get a 5-minute sneak peek and featurette.

This latest sneak peek, which follows yesterday's TV spot, doesn't reveal much, but puts the spotlight on the title character and Eagly. It's also accompanied by the tagline, "There is no I in Peace."

Plot details for season 2 are being kept a closely guarded secret, though there are rumblings that, among the changes made when we follow Smith into a new reality, will be the fact that his father and brother are alive again. Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr. will also be out for revenge after learning of Peacemaker's role in his son's death.

John Cena's upcoming return in the DC Universe gets a preview through new Peacemaker season 2 footage. Tulsa King season 3 gets exciting casting update as filming continues
Image
According to Variety, Kevin Pollack has joined the cast of Tulsa King season 3. He is set to appear as a series regular playing Special Agent Musso. His character has been described as “an FBI agent who has an axe to grind.”

The casting news comes after the third season of Paramount+’s Tulsa King went into production in Atlanta and Oklahoma in March. Pollack is a well-respected stand-up comedian and actor. His roles include playing Moishe in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and appearing in Martin Scorsese’s Casino and A Few Good Men.

Pollack will join Sylvester Stallone and a stellar cast, which includes Frank Grillo, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany. Pollack isn’t the only new cast member for the upcoming series of Tulsa King. Peacemaker Season 2 TV Spot Sees Rick Flag Sr. On The Hunt For His Son's Killer
Image
During Inside the NBA on TNT yesterday evening, a new TV spot for Peacemaker season 2 aired. Offering our best look yet at the Dcu TV series, we see the show's leads forced to resign themselves to the fact they're not considered heroes, despite saving the world.

It appears that Peacemaker and company will return to White Dragon's lair, though they seem to be on the run from someone.

Rick Flag Sr., perhaps? This preview confirms he's on the hunt for Christopher Smith and eager to avenge what happened to his son in The Suicide Squad.

James Gunn has previously revealed that Flag takes over A.R.G.U.S. from Amanda Waller (we're guessing that was meant to be explained in the Waller TV series that's stalled), leading to him learning the truth about what happened in Corto Maltese. We'll catch up with the Creature Commandos lead in Superman this summer.

Sylvester Stallone Teases “Devious” Season 3 of Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Tulsa King’
Image
We might not have a release date yet, but Tulsa King Season 3 is officially underway — and Sylvester Stallone is already stirring the pot. The action legend took to Instagram to tease what's coming next for his fish-out-of-water mobster Dwight “The General” Manfredi, and according to Stallone, the plan for the new season is nothing short of devious. That’s right — Dwight’s return to Tulsa isn’t going to be smooth sailing. But did anyone really expect it would be?

“This is my friend, Frank Grillo,” Stallone says in a new behind-the-scenes video, as filming for Season 3 continues. “We’re about to do something a little devious in the name of commerce. It’s not like we’re thieves, right? We’re actually trying to retrieve what belongs to us. I have a feeling it’s going to go sideways.” Grillo — who joined the series in Season 2 as dangerous businessman Bill Bevilaqua — added,...

Kevin Pollak to stir up trouble for Sylvester Stallone in Tulsa King Season 3
Kevin Pollak
The Usual Suspects and Grumpy Old Men actor Kevin Pollak is heading to Tulsa, and he’s not looking to make friends. According to Variety, Kevin Pollak will join the Tulsa King Season 3 cast as Special Agent Musso, “an FBI agent with an axe to grind.”

The second season of Tulsa King ended on November 17, 2024, with some big plot threads wrapped up and other cliffhangers dangling. In the finale, Dwight had a final showdown with nemesis Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough), but let his adversary live. After Cal attempted to destroy Dwight by fixing his trial or attacking his wind farm, it was an intriguing development for the mobster to let his foe remain alive. It was also a wise decision, as the death of a prominent businessman would not have been easy to hide. Meanwhile, Dwight makes an unexpected friend out of Bill Bevilacqua (Frank Grillo), another enemy he must face.

Sylvester Stallone Teases "Devious" Plans for Season 3 of 'Tulsa King'
Image
We may not know when Tulsa King Season 3 will premiere on Paramount+, but star Sylvester Stallone is already teasing the "devious" plans to come for his popular crime drama. Premiering in 2022, Tulsa King sees Stallone as fish-out-of-water gangster Dwight "The General" Manfredi, who, after being banished from New York, takes up shop in Oklahoma to run his own crime syndicate that he starts from scratch. Season 2 saw the addition of fellow action great Frank Grillo as Bill Bevilaqua, whom Dwight forged a shaky partnership with by the time it was all said and done.

It's the partnership that Stallone teased will continue in Season 3 in a new Instagram video he posted yesterday (seen below). With production on Tulsa King Season 3 now in full-swing, the star shared a little behind-the-scenes tidbit with Grillo, noting that the pair are set to get up to something pretty juicy next season. Tulsa King Season 3 Will Upgrade One Villain's Status Beyond What Stallone's Dwight Has Ever Encountered
Image
Tulsa King star Neal McDonough shares a new update on season 3, teasing how his villain has become even more powerful. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the hit Paramount+ series returned for season 2 last year, introducing a handful of new characters as Sylvester Stallone's Dwight "The General" Manfredi attempts to secure his criminal empire. McDonough's Cal Thresher, a major player in Oklahoma's drug trade, was one such new character, and he's now poised to return in Tulsa King season 3, which is now in production.

In a recent interview with Collider, McDonough reveals that Thresher comes back in a big way in Tulsa King season 3, now serving as the governor of Oklahoma. The star explains that this evolution for Thresher was actually his idea, and executive producer David Glasser ended up writing it into the show. Check out McDonough's explanation below:

One of TV’s most versatile funnymen is heading to the world of mobsters and misfits. Pollak is going to be playing Special Agent Musso, described as “an FBI agent who has an axe to grind.” If that sounds like trouble for Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi… it probably is.

James Gunn Shares New Look At Peacemaker Season 2 After Celebrating John Cena's Historic WWE Title Win
Image
At WrestleMania in Las Vegas this past weekend, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes (with an assist from rapper Travis Scott) to win a record 17th WWE Championship.

The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker director James Gunn was among those who congratulated Cena after his big win. Today, the filmmaker has celebrated his friend and frequent collaborator's 48th birthday with a new photo from the Peacemaker season 2 set.

Those of you who have pointed out that the DC Studios co-ceo has appeared in a lot of Superman promotional material likely won't be surprised to see that Gunn is also front and centre. Coincidence or part of an overall marketing strategy? It's hard to say.

Either way, this is probably our best look yet at Peacemaker's costume and helmet in the Dcu and, well, he really doesn't look all that different from when we last saw him cause chaos in the Dceu.

"In Creature Commandos,...

A Superman Movie Sneak Peek May Have Spoiled The Debut Of A Major DC Comics Threat
Image
Superman will soon take to the skies again, and DC Studios co-head James Gunn is keen for us all to watch. With the upcoming "Superman," the director has seemingly crafted an ode to the Man of Steel's essential and unwavering goodness to remind us that such a thing exists during a time when the world seems to be perpetually suspended in a state of tumult and disarray. He is, of course, also responsible for bringing DC back to cinematic prominence following an ignoble end to the erstwhile DC Extended Universe, so he sort of needs us all to watch, too.

Thus far, however, Gunn and Warner Bros.' attempts to build the necessary hype haven't been all that effective. The trailer for "Superman" didn't just need to sell a movie, but an entire shared universe, and I'm not sure it did that by itself. Then, Gunn and co. let...

Isabela Merced Talks Superman, Says Hawkgirl Super Suit Was "Not Fun"
Image
Supermanstar Isabela Merced explains exactly why her Hawkgirl costume was "not fun" to wear on set.

Per Bleeding Cool, Merced recently opened up about the experience of portraying Hawkgirl in James Gunn's upcoming Superman. "I got a taste of the super suit, which was not fun. The tightness and the way you had to make everything look cool, but also aggressive, but also smooth, but also in a tight suit, but also you're wearing a harness…It's a lot," Merced stated. "Every scene [that I'm in] I'm flying, pretty much. But it's cool because I'm an adrenaline seeker. I like being dropped from really high heights. It's actually one of my favorite things."

Written and directed by Gunn, Superman stars David Corenswet as the titular Man of Steel alongside an all-star ensemble cast including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. The film's...

Superman 2025 Video Reveals First Official Look At Historic DC Crossover
Image
A new Superman promotional video marked a significant first for the Dcu. The "Superman - Superman Day Behind The Scenes Look" revealed the first animation-to-live-action crossover set for the Dcu, with Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr.

Grillo's hardened DC Comics general debuted in the Dcu first in animation in Creature Commandos before being revealed as a live-action character appearing in James Gunn's upcoming Superman film. This is the first time a Dcu character has jumped from animation to live-action, and Grillo will again play the character, just like he did in animation.

Some characters have gone the other way in James Gunn's new super-powered universe; however, none have gone from an animated project to live-action before Grillo's Rick Flag.

New Superman Behind-The-Scenes Video Reveals Best Look Yet At New Heroes, Enemies, And Allies
Image
Despite the enduring popularity of its title character, James Gunn's "Superman" has always felt like something of a risk ... but, oddly enough, that's a fitting position for the Big Blue Boy Scout to be in. It's fair to say that the "Aw shucks" goodness of Superman can seem a bit outdated in the year 2025, at a time when real-life heroes are pretty difficult to come by. Audiences could be forgiven for feeling a little jaded about the idea of good triumphing over evil and the world uniting behind an aspirational figure who simply does the right thing because, well, it's the right thing to do. But for every potential drawback for a movie like this, those very same qualities could be exactly what we need right now.

That's the tone that Gunn, DC Studios co-head Peter Safran, the cast, and the rest of the creative team of "Superman" are...

Image
Tulsa King will return under new management for the upcoming third season of the show, with a new showrunner, Dave Erickson, taking the reins to bring a continual level of gangster ease to the mob drama. How to watch the Captain America movies in order (including the Avengers)
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise is the most successful in Hollywood history. It has grossed over $31 billion at the box office and its legacy will continue in the years ahead, with plenty of exciting titles on the horizon. From the Infinity Saga to the Multiverse Saga and beyond, fans are loving what the MCU is producing.

There are countless beloved heroes in the franchise, but Captain America might just be the most important of all. The Star-Spangled Man With A Plan is, after all, the first Avenger, so it makes sense that he be at the center of the franchise - and he was, for the longest time. As one of the leaders of the Avengers and a pop-culture legend even within the fictitious world of the franchise, Chris Evans' Steve Rogers was a fixture of the MCU until 2019's Avengers: Endgame when he handed the shield over to longtime friend,...

‘Peacemaker’ Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot, and All You Need to Know
Image
Of all the characters from The Suicide Squad, why focus on the guy who murdered Rick Flag? James Gunn, however, saw a fair bit of potential in John Cena’s Christopher Smith, a walking disaster with daddy issues and a pretty skewed sense of morality. It became evident in the early minutes of the first season of Peacemaker that this was not what it looked like, albeit the packaging.

Peacemaker Season 1 was very much a case of lightning in a bottle. It successfully took a relatively obscure DC character and turned him into a compelling figure in an already saturated superhero genre. It’s doubly hard for any new superhero introduction to be meaningful these days and to find an audience, yet Peacemaker was able to do that relatively easily.

It’s been three years since that Season 1 finale back in 2022, but with all the shuffling at Warner Bros., the...

Hardy Stars as an Ex-Marine Turned Mma Fighter

Don’t Expect a New ‘Superman’ Trailer To Come Anytime Soon
Image
The first teaser trailer for James Gunn’s Superman was released almost four months ago, and fans are starting to get curious about when the official trailer will be revealed. Superman is less than three months out from release, which means it’s almost time for Warner Bros. and DC to ramp up promotion for what the studio is certainly hoping will be one of its biggest hits of the year. Superman fans were recently treated to five minutes of footage from the film ahead of A Minecraft Movie screenings, which has delayed the release of the next trailer. James Gunn recently took to his personal Instagram account to respond to a comment — which came under a post of his cat — asking when the next Superman trailer would be released, saying that “We just released five minutes of footage in theaters so it will be a beat!”
