Jason Statham And Sylvester Stallone's Gritty 2013 Crime Thriller Is Prime Video's Latest Obsession
Image
When Sylvester Stallone wrote "Rocky" as a way to launch his career, he infused his script with plenty of heart and character development, revealing himself to be a talented writer with a sensitivity for which fans of his action filmography don't always give him credit. That said, there's no doubt that the man has a talent for bombastic action. 1982's "First Blood," in which his John J. Rambo debuted, was all the better for having Stallone in the lead role, with the star making changes to the script by removing much of the macho posturing in favor of a more restrained approach. Stallone added what became the defining feature of "First Blood" to the script, and ever since, has been crafting engaging action tales.

As the years went by, however, Stallone frequently embraced a formulaic approach. The retired badass with the "I don't do that any more" attitude exists, in part,...

This list, counting down from the 10th to the top spot, spans characters from all live-action Spider-Man movies, regardless of the universe they belong to. We hope you enjoy this deep dive into the best Spider-Man villain portrayals!

10. Michael Mando as Mac Gargan / Scorpion (Spider-Man: Homecoming)

You might have overlooked this one, as Mac Gargan didn’t transform into Scorpion in the movie, but fans clearly appreciated the portrayal. Considering the competition, this is a solid choice; while there are some big names on the list, many were limited to cameos, underdeveloped roles, or simply didn’t hit the mark. The Better Call Saul alum delivered a memorable performance that resonated with fans.

9. Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon / Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)

Remember our recent list of the worst superhero performances? Jamie Foxx’s Electro made that list,...

Seth Rogen on “Specifically” Writing Dave Franco’s Role in ‘The Studio’ for the Actor
Image
Seth Rogen was very particular when it came to writing and crafting the characters in The Studio.

The star and co-creator of the Apple TV+ series recently shared with People why he “specifically” wrote Dave Franco’s role and multi-episode storyline for the actor. In the show, Franco plays a fictionalized version of himself as a Hollywood action star and wild party animal.

“Honestly, there were very few people that could have filled the roles that the people had filled because we really specifically were catering the stories to certain traits that celebrities have,” Rogen said of creating the 21 Jump Street actor’s storyline.

The Studio follows a legacy Hollywood movie studio striving to survive in a world where it is increasingly difficult for art and business to live together, with Rogen playing the new head of the fictional Continental Studios. The series has featured several celebrity cameos, as...

Roman Polanski, Vincent Gallo, and Panos Cosmatos Plan New Features
Image
Nearly 92, more controversial than ever, and coming off perhaps the least-liked film of his career, Roman Polanski has not entirely been expected to direct again. Yet he, still among our greatest filmmakers, doesn’t seem content to let The Palace‘s final shot close his story. (That will mean nothing if you’ve not seen the film; those who have understand fully.) Polanski recently met with Poland’s Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Maciej Wróbel, who revealed that their conversation concerned “plans related to the production of a new film” that will shoot in the director’s native country. [Wiadomości Gazeta]

As Polanski tends to keep a low profile, we’ve no pre-existing details on what it might be, though this hint of advanced funding and logistics stages suggests word would arrive shortly. As for who agrees to star in it or what festival opts to premiere it––that should be...

This ‘SNL’ Sketch Got Taran Killam A Job on ‘Star Wars’
Image
As Dana Carvey proves on the regular when he records Fly on the Wall podcasts with David Spade, his Saturday Night Live memory isn’t always razor sharp. But he was able to pull an accurate nugget from the deep recesses of his brain when Taran Killam dropped by for a chat this week. “Did I host the show when you were there, and you did a Harrison Ford at read-through, which kind of impressed me?” Carvey wondered. “I go, ‘Who is this kid?’”

Killam acknowledges he was the kid when Carvey hosted in early 2011, still a featured player and working his way into the regular cast. While there was no Star Wars sketch in Carvey’s episode, Killam proudly said he eventually got his Harrison Ford imitation on the show. “I’m really a big Star Wars nerd.”

It’s not clear which sketch Killam is referring to, though...

Spring Breakers 2 Is Officially Happening 13 Years Later, but Big Fans Might Be Disappointed
Image
More than a decade after the original Spring Breakers was released in 2012, the cult classic thriller is getting a sequel. Written and directed by Harmony Korine, Spring Breakers follows college students Candy, Faith, Brit, and Cotty, low on cash, who decide to rob a Florida diner so they can pay for their spring break trip. But they are soon arrested by the police. Luckily, a drug dealer/rap artist named Allen bails them out, and they opt for a life of crime.

Now, a new Spring Breakers, titled Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain, has been confirmed, per Variety. However, there's a catch that might be disappointing for big fans of the previous film. While the original Spring Breakers starred Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, James Franco, and Gucci Mane, that will not be the case with Salvation Mountain. The sequel will feature an entirely new cast - and a new director.

Jason Statham's Thriller Movie Collaboration With Sylvester Stallone Trends On Streaming 12 Years Later
Image
Jason Statham’s thriller movie collaboration with Sylvester Stallone is a streaming hit 12 years later. Stallone and Statham have shared the screen four times, playing mercenary comrades Barney and Christmas in the Expendables series.

The Expendables stars’ numerous collaborations indeed represent a union of two different movie eras. Stallone was the co-ruler of 1980s action, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. Statham established his own stoic action-hero persona beginning with his early Guy Ritchie films, and continuing through a string of hard-hitting vehicles, culminating with his arrival as a big-budget franchise stalwart in the Fast & Furious series.

Stallone And Statham’s Homefront Is A Hit On Streaming 12 Years Later Stallone Produced And Statham Starred

After doing two Expendables movies together, Stallone and Statham teamed up again for Homefront, an action-thriller co-written by Stallone and directed by Gary Fleder, that 12 years later is trending on streaming. Stallone also served as a producer on the film,...

Spring Breakers 2: Cast, Plot & Everything We Know So Far
Image
Harmony Korine's 2013 film "Spring Breakers" is a time capsule of the early 2010s -- a time when James Franco was still a big-name movie star and Skrillex's brostep bass wobbles soundtracked all of the cool parties in town. Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine, the film follows four college students who turn to a life of crime after meeting Alien (Franco), a drug dealer who convinces them to wear pink balaclavas, carry machine guns, and dance to Britney Spears power ballads.

Considering that Harmony Korine was banned from "The David Letterman Show" for causing mischief, it makes sense that he'd create a movie about renegades wreaking havoc. That said, "Spring Breakers" also taps into the universal feeling of being young, carefree, and wanting the party to last forever -- themes most of us can relate to, even if we didn't grow up listening to...

‘Spring Breakers’ Sequel Announced Sans Harmony Korine
Image
The iconic 2013 film “Spring Breakers” is getting a sequel.

Variety reported that the essence of Harmony Korine‘s classic feature will live on, sans its original stars and director, however. Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, James Franco, and more starred in the first film; now, its follow up will center on Gen Z actors for a new generation of mayhem.

“Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain” will have returning producers Chris Hanley and Jordan Gertner from the original feature. Bella Thorne, Ariel Martin, Grace Van Dien, and True Whitaker will star, with Matthew Bright directing. Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Global and its joint venture with Signature Entertainment called Capture will be launching sales in Cannes.

The logline for the sequel reads: “When a trip explodes out of control, the girls are forced to outrun the chaos they’ve created.” Muse Production’s Chris Hanley and Jordan Gertner will produce, with Capstone Studios serving as financiers.

Crime Thriller 'Spring Breakers' Is Getting a Sequel With a New Cast
Image
Didn't have this latest bit of news on our 2025 movie bingo card, but here we are. Released in 2012, Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers received reasonably positive reviews from critics given its divisive subject matter, and it provided a more adult vehicle for its younger stars, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Benson, known for more light teen fare at the time. James Franco's turn in the film also received positive notices, but nothing about its reception gave the impression that more stories needed to be told. However, in this industry, one can never say never as it appears that more from this universe is coming our way.

Per Variety, a sequel to Spring Breakers is moving forward but with a brand-new cast and director. Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain will star Bella Thorne, Ariel Martin, Grace Van Dien and True Whitaker as a new set of rebellious young girls...

What?! A ‘Spring Breakers’ Sequel Is Actually Happening and the Cast Is Stacked
Image
Get your bathing suit ready — a Spring Breakers sequel is on the way. Variety reports that Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain, the new movie from filmmaker Matthew Bright (Freeway), will follow in the footsteps of the original, even boasting a star-studded cast that will take over the next chapter of the story where Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and James Franco left off with director Harmony Korine more than a decade ago. This time around, the action will play out between a primary ensemble that includes Bella Thorne (Shake It Up!), Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things), Ariel Martin (Zombies 2), and True Whitaker (Godfather of Harlem).

In typical Spring Breakers fashion, the movie will follow the quartet of girls who strike out for the time of their lives during spring break. Billed as “a bold new ride for Gen Z,” the group will find plenty of trouble along the way with the...

‘Spring Breakers 2’ Set With New Cast: Bella Thorne, ‘Stranger Things’ Star Grace Van Dien and More (Exclusive)
Image
A sequel to Harmony Korine’s cult classic “Spring Breakers,” which starred James Franco, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, is officially a go.

“Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain” comes from the producers of the 2012 original but with an all new cast — including Bella Thorne. Replacing Korine in the director’s chair will be Matthew Bright (“Freeway”).

Capture — the recently-launched joint venture between Capstone Global and Signature Entertainment — is launching sales in Cannes.

Alongside Thorne, “Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain” will star Ariel Martin (“Zombies 2”), Grace Van Dien (“Stranger Things”) and True Whitaker (“Godfather of Harlem”). The four are set to play a group of rebellious girls who hit the road for spring break in a crime thriller described as “a bold new ride for Gen Z.” But, as per the synopsis, “When their trip explodes out of control, they’re forced to outrun the chaos they’ve created.”

Producers of the original feature,...

All 12 Cormac McCarthy Books, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

The late author Cormac McCarthy may have only had a dozen novels published in his lifetime, but he left an indelible mark on literature through his work. Often marked with graphic, unflinching violence and gruff characters living on the fringes of society, McCarthy grounded his stories in dogged realism. McCarthy's protagonists were often no-nonsense figures, sometimes the villains in their own stories, whether they recognized it or not. The author painted the world as a harsh and uncaring one, with survival as an unguaranteed reward for resilience.

More than just an influential presence in the literary world, a significant portion of McCarthy's work has been adapted into film. Many of these movies have similarly earned their fair share of fans and critical acclaim, including multiple Academy Awards. Regardless of the quality of the adaptations, McCarthy's work continues to stand the...

Daisy Ridley’s We Bury the Dead is bought by Vertical Entertainment ahead of Cannes
James Franco
The upcoming Cannes market is seeing a whole slew of films picked up by distributors, including the 70s serial killer thriller, Golden State Killer, starring James Franco and Vincent Gallo. Deadline is now reporting that Daisy Ridley’s post-apocalyptic zombie film, We Bury the Dead, has also been sold. We Bury the Dead has been acquired by Vertical Entertainment.

Vertical Partner Peter Jarowey made a statement about the acquisition that said, “With a great cast led by Daisy Ridley and Brenton Thwaites, Zak has re-energized the zombie genre with We Bury the Dead. Next year, North American audiences will be on the edge of their seats watching this post-apocalyptic thriller.” Scripted by Hilditch, We Bury the Dead is said to be “a story about grief, loss, and the undead.” Ridley takes on the role of Ava, a desperate woman whose husband is missing in the aftermath of a catastrophic military experiment.

James Franco and Vincent Gallo’s Golden State Killer gets picked up by Grindstone Entertainment
James Franco
Formally titled The Policeman, James Franco and Vincent Gallo‘s serial killer film, now called Golden State Killer, will now be getting domestic distribution thanks to Lionsgate. Deadline is now reporting that the true crime thriller will go on sale this week at Cannes with Lionsgate after their studio partner, Grindstone Entertainment, has picked up the domestic distribution rights. Golden State Killer is currently in the post-production process. However, the film has gone through some controversy last year when it had been scrutinized by the SAG-AFTRA union over complaints of misconduct against Vincent Gallo by multiple female actors.

Producers on the film include Scott Clayton, Jordan Gertner, Barry Brooker, Todd Williams, and Gary A. Hirsch. Gertner was also previously attached as the writer and director. However, Deadline is now saying that it is no longer the case. The description reads, “Written and directed by Vito Brown, the movie has Gallo...

‘Together’ (2025) Movie: Cast, Release Date, Plot, and All You Need to Know
Image
It’s starting to look like a great year if you are into horror movies; from Ryan Coogler’s classic Sinners, to the movie saga that traumatized a whole generation like Final Destination: Bloodline, set to release this year. One addition to the list of horror movies coming out this year is the Michael Shanks-directed movie Together.

Stepping aside from the usual jump scares and ghosts with horrifying faces, Together does something different. It takes a more supernatural approach with evil forces making physical changes to their bodies. Looking at the trailer, it might not seem like the loudest or the flashiest horror movie, but it sure seems like the most intriguing one.

The premise is thrilling for sure, but it’s the emotional storytelling and the sense of unease created through the setting’s atmosphere that you are strangely immersed in their eerie situations. It’s almost as...

‘You’ Peaked With Peach Salinger, and Then Never Recovered After Her Death
Image
Oh, Peach Salinger. What would You be without, well… you? Despite the hilariously pretentious name, the trust fund, and a vanity so blinding it deserved its own filter, Peach Salinger was That girl.

The one who clocked the psycho way before anyone else even noticed the red flags were, in fact, blood-soaked. Say what you want about her, but Peach had layers. She was messy, dramatic, and high-key obsessed with her bestie. Yeah, she had her toxic moments (don’t we all?), but Peach sniffed Joe out like a Chanel-spritzed bloodhound way before anyone else even flinched. And for that alone? She deserved better. Way better.

Let’s be honest—this woman deserves a little posthumous justice, and I’m here to serve it.

Today, he has become a household name as the lovable best friend on a widely popular sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, that lasted for nearly a decade.

But long before the therapist and the best friend, he played a teenager in a short-lived show that barely anyone watched, but everyone remembers. That one season changed everything, now that it became a cult classic, and the show is— Freaks and Geeks.

"We Got Away With That One": 'Freaks and Geeks' Creator Paul Feig on Why He Won’t Revisit the Short-Lived Series [Exclusive]
Image
At a special screening of Another Simple Favor, Collider's Steve Weintraub sat down with filmmaker Paul Feig for a Q&a to talk about sequels, editing, and the challenges of working in Hollywood. Before the night was over, the conversation simply had to turn to one of Feig’s most beloved — and famously short-lived — projects: Freaks and Geeks. The cult classic high school dramedy aired for just one season between 1999 and 2000, yet it left an indelible mark on television history, launching a genuinely stunning wave of future stars — seriously, the cast included Linda Cardellini, John Francis Daley, James Franco, Martin Starr, Jason Segel, Busy Philipps, Samm Levine and Seth Rogen to name just a few — and gaining a second life through streaming, DVD box sets, and endless critical praise. But for all the fans' hopes of a revival, Feig made it clear: the show’s ending is exactly how he always wanted it.

May Will Be a Sad Month for 'Spider-Man' Fans
Image
Spider-Man fans, heads up. If you love Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy or the animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse then you have few days left before these web-slinger stories leave Netflix. The Tobey Maguire-starring trilogy, directed by horror icon Raimi, was the kick-start of the superhero genre as we know it today.

The original Spider-Man trilogy sort of provides a blueprint of Peter Parker’s origin story on the big screen. Thanks to the success of these movies, fans around the world have a solid trilogy to go back to that also stars Willem Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, and more. Furthermore, hints of what happened to the Og Peter after the movies ended can be found in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which brought back both Maguire and his successor, Andrew Garfield, to the MCU.

In contrast, Across the Spider-Verse tells us the story of Miles Morales, in an animated format,...

Timothée Chalamet’s Transformation – From Indie Heartthrob To Hollywood’s Most Bankable Star
Image
Timothée Chalamet Movie Transformation (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Timothée Chalamet’s rise has been as dramatic and stylish as one of his red carpet-looks. He started as the indie scene’s favorite artsy boy, soft-spoken, floppy-haired, and constantly heartbroken in sun-drenched landscapes. Fast forward a few years, and he’s now leading box office juggernauts, riding space worms in Dune: Part Two, and rapping his way through chocolate factories in Wonka.

Somehow, he managed to stay both a fashion icon and a total goofball (we’re still not over Lil Timmy Tim). With collaborations spanning from Greta Gerwig to Denis Villeneuve, he has officially entered that rare actor zone where people will show up just to watch him stare moodily into the distance. So, whether you’ve been following him since Call Me By Your Name or hopped on the hype train post-Interstellar, it’s time to rank the hits, the near-misses,...

Sophie Nyweide, the former child actor who made appearances in the films Mammoth, Noah Baumbach’s Margot at the Wedding and Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, died April 14. She was 24.

In a paid obituary, her family wrote that the former actor “self-medicated to deal with all the trauma and shame she held inside, and it resulted in her death.”

“Sophie was a kind and trusting girl,” her family writes. “Often this left her open to being taken advantage of by others. She wrote and drew voraciously, and much of this art depicts the depth she had, and it also represents the pain she suffered. Many of her writings and artwork are roadmaps of her struggles and traumas. Film Quiz Friday | Turner And Who?

One of this week’s new releases stars Steve Coogan and a penguin, so here’s a film quiz about other actors and their animal co-stars.

They say you should never work with children or animals, but that’s not stopped movie stars teaming up with animal co-stars. There are usually mixed results – even the can’t-lose buddy pairing of “Tom Hanks and a French mastiff” definitely didn’t end happily for both of them (spoilery details here). Now in UK cinemas, Peter Cattaneo’s new movie The Penguin Lessons teams up Partridge and penguin, so we’ve got some quiz questions about other live-action animal star vehicles as part of your usual movie-related trivia safari.

Once you’ve completed this week’s film quiz, you’ll find a link to a separate post with the correct answers at the bottom of this post. As always, this is just for fun,...

Following the reveal of past social media posts that made headlines for all the wrong reasons, Emilia Pérez star Karla Sofía Gascón is once again courting controversy with her new film, The Life Lift. First-timer Italian director Stefania Rossella Grassi is set to helm the project, which will also star Vincent Gallo – who's no stranger to controversy himself – and depict Gascón as a psychiatrist who "embodies both God and the devil."

Variety broke the news about The Life Lift today, which is said to be a psychological thriller that has Gallo portraying a man named Gabriel "who lives in a small New York apartment and becomes persecuted by Post-its left in the building’s elevator." It's giving off series The X-Files vibes already. Materials obtained by the outlet regarding the film note that the messages "order him to commit atrocious murders of three other tenants who, in turn, want to kill their next-of-kin.

Image
Jason Statham’s new movie is finally losing steam at the box office after falling out of the top five, but one of his older flicks just got an update to help ease the pain. More than 10 years before Statham teamed up with director David Ayer for A Working Man, he starred in Homefront, the 2013 conspiracy thriller following a former DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town only to get involved with a local drug lord. The free streaming service Tubi has announced that Homefront will hit the platform on April 18. The film also stars Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), Frank Grillo (Creature Commandos), and James Franco (Spider-Man 3). It earned scores of 42% from critics and 61% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Homefront is based on the novel of the same name by Chuck Logan, and action icon Sylvester Stallone wrote the script for the film. Stallone also penned...

James Franco movies: 16 greatest films ranked worst to best
Image
James Franco is an Oscar-nominated actor-director who has had his share of up-and-downs, controversies and good graces, but through it all has always remained an interesting presence in front of and behind the camera. Take a look back at 16 of his greatest films, ranked worst to best.

Born on April 19, 1978, Franco has developed a pretty notable resume since he first came to audience’s attention on the low rated but highly acclaimed TV series “Freaks and Geeks.” A year after that NBC show ended, Franco found fame in a highly praised TV biography of James Dean for which he won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy award. That success led him to a film career which has run the gamut from superhero blockbusters to Oscar nominated prestige films.

It hasn’t all been a smooth ride for Franco though. In 2010 he should have been at the peak...

Image
Don Mischer, the Emmy-accumulating director-producer who called the shots on the biggest live entertainment events in the world, from Super Bowl halftime shows and Olympic opening ceremonies to the Oscars and the Emmys, has died. He was 85.

The San Antonio native also helmed the Kennedy Center Honors, starting with the inaugural 1978 event through 1986 — he then produced the CBS telecast from 1993-2001 — and guided Barbara Walters‘ highly-rated ABC interview shows beginning in the late 1970s.

Meanwhile, Mischer was the architect of dozens of landmark TV specials, including 1983’s Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever, which featured a reunion of The Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson’s “moonwalk” during a “Billie Jean” performance, and 1990’s The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson and 1998’s Sonny & Me: Cher Remembers, both of which aired mere months after the shocking deaths...

Lucky vs. Franco: General Hospital Fans Weigh In On Elizabeth’s True Love
Image
Now that Jonathan Jackson is back as legacy character Lucky, it’s easy for many long-time General Hospital viewers to ship LL2. But Elizabeth was part of another beloved pairing not too long ago, and those devoted shippers are torn.

Lucky vs. Franco

One viewer took to the Gh Reddit to share their thoughts on Lucky and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) vs. Franco (Roger Howarth) and Elizabeth.

“None of you love Liz and Lucky like I love them. They are the reason I fell in love with Gh,” the fan started their post. When Lucky ‘died’ in that fire, that was it for me,” they admitted. “Then one day, I tuned in on a whim and it was the day that Liz was waiting at the alter for Franco, and they play the montage of those two and Omg. I went back and saw their whole story.”

'A Minecraft Movie' Unfinished Workprint Leaks Online as Adaptation Hits Theaters
Image
An entire unfinished cut of A Minecraft Movie has leaked online just as the completed movie opened in theaters. Of course, that didn't stop it from becoming the biggest opening weekend of 2025. A Minecraft Movie took the world by storm as the movie performed well above its initial $60 million projected opening weekend and grossed $157 million in its opening weekend, beating The Super Mario Bros. Movie as the highest-grossing opening weekend for a video game movie. While A Minecraft Movie had a lot to celebrate, it wasn't all good news, as Warner Bros. found themselves scrambling to stop a completed film cut with unfinished visual effects from spreading across the internet.

Variety revealed that a workprint for A Minecraft Movie leaked online right before the film opened worldwide. The cut of the movie contained an unfinished VFX shot that began circulating online just as A Minecraft Movie was starting its theatrical release.

Canceled Marvel Movies We Still Want To See
Image
Marvel, and specifically the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has dominated the zeitgeist for nearly two decades at this point. There's always plenty of talk as to whether general audiences are getting tired of Marvel movies, and while the MCU may not be as infallible as it once was, there's still ample interest. 2024's "Deadpool & Wolverine" crossed the $1 billion mark, and "Daredevil: Born Again" has been largely viewed within a positive light. Sure, every so often you get a "Captain America: Brave New World" that underperforms, but superhero movies will always have a place within the cultural landscape.

Some might argue that there are already too many Marvel movies, but they're could've been plenty more. For every Marvel project that winds up in theaters, there are numerous others where a script was written or even went into pre-production but got cancelled for one reason or another. Honestly, some of these cancelled...

Emily Deschanel's Sister Zooey Guest Starred In One Of The Best Bones Episodes
Image
For a show that featured a lot of death, "Bones" sure did have a lot of heart. A series doesn't run for 12 seasons without an effective emotional core, after all, and "Bones" certainly managed to maintain a soft spot, even as Emily Deschanel's Temperance Brennan and David Boreanaz's Agent Seeley Booth inspected some of the most horrific corpses you've ever seen on TV.

One nice behind-the-scenes aspect of the series to offset the ongoing corpse inspections was the fact that the "Bones" cast often included family members of the stars and the show's creator, Hart Hanson. David Boreanaz's father, Dave Roberts, appeared in an uncredited cameo as an FBI agent, while Hanson's own father, Paul, showed up as a vending machine repairman. But it was during one Christmas episode that we got perhaps the most notable family-member appearance in the series.

Yes, even "Bones," with fake cadavers...

'A Working Man' Isn’t the First Jason Statham-Sylvester Stallone Collab
Image
It's almost impossible to talk about action movies without mentioning Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone. They're both bankable stars who have left a large legacy in their genre, so it's no surprise the two have worked together multiple times. Their most recent collaboration is on the 2025 Statham film A Working Man, which Stallone wrote and produced. Stallone is no stranger to screenwriting, having written the Oscar-winning film Rocky. He's no stranger to writing for Statham either, as he wrote the screenplay for Statham's 2013 movie Homefront.

Stallone Made Statham a DEA Agent in 'Homefront'

In Homefront, Jason Statham plays Phil Broker, a retired DEA agent and single dad living in Louisiana. Phil's daughter, Maddy, fights one of her classmates, and when Phil is called to Maddy's school to talk about it, the classmate's father tries to fight Phil. Phil beats the father, and in retaliation, the father's wife calls her brother,...

The Studio Pits Seth Rogen in a Losing Battle Against a Merciless System to Hilarious Results
Image
The following contains spoilers for The Studio Episode 1, "The Promotion," now streaming on Apple TV+.

Apple TV+’s The Studio doesn’t exactly have the most novel premise. Like Ricky Gervais’ Extras before it, or even that one episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (“Mac and Charlie Write a Script”), the new Seth Rogen series begins with more than a bit of movie magic in its premiere, "The Promotion." The scene opens on a lakeside cabin in winter. A serene spell of gentle snowfall is abruptly broken by a man bursting through a door. Gunshots ring out. The man's been hit. He leans back against the hood of a car, then slides to the ground. The man's mysterious attacker walks over to deliver the coup de grâce. "Bang, " the director yells. The camera pulls back, fading into the same image as seen on a monitor.

The actor, who was just killed on-screen,...

The 13 Jason Statham-est Jason Statham Movies, Ranked
Image
Jason Statham wasn’t always an action movie legend. He started out as a competitive diver, and even modeled for Tommy Hilfiger and Levi’s. But as soon as he made his big screen debut in Guy Ritchie’s “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” it was obvious. A star was being born.

Statham’s gravely voice, martial arts talent and toned physique served him well, and he quickly became one of the most recognizable action heroes of the 21st century, starring in billion dollar blockbusters and quirky crime thrillers, with a smattering of tough as nails or just plain weird genre films in the middle. And sometimes he also pokes fun at his grizzled persona, proving that he’s having just as much fun as we are.

Not every Jason Statham movie is great, but a lot of them are better than they get credit for. And even the silly ones are often 100% pure Statham.

“Why are we in Paris right now?”: The Hangover Part 4 Writes Itself, Seth Rogen’s Wild Drug-Fueled International Rampage is One for the History Books
Image
Apart from the big screen, Hollywood stars have several personal stories that are equally entertaining, if not more. In this, Seth Rogen’s funny international escapade would definitely be in the top three. The actor, known for his comedic roles, could have truly inspired the fourth installment of The Hangover. While in the movies the cast woke up to tigers and missing teeth, Rogen actually ended up in an entirely different country.

This time, instead of marijuana, he tried something even stronger, and it’s safe to say that his journey after that was quite interesting, to say the least.
