Star Trek has always done a great job of showing fans the best of sci-fi. They've always been able to take a trope and expand upon it to a shockingly high degree. They've done some amazing work with amazing concepts. Yet, one that I'd like to see more of is the body-swap episode.
The thought came to me seeing the ads play for the upcoming "Ghostmas" special from the CBS series 'Ghost'. In the trailer, the two main characters seemingly swap places with two ghosts. A simple and effective concept that Star Trek has done very well with.
They've had a handful of body-swap episodes, with the most recent being Strange New Worlds' "Spock Amok", which did a wonderful job with the plot device, but it could've been better. The key to the body-swap gimmick is finding two distinctly different characters who move, sound, and behave differently and...

Nearly two decades ago, audiences were introduced to the fictional town of Eureka, Oregon in the aptly titled sci-fi series, Eureka. Created by Andrew Cosby and Jaime Paglia, the TV show followed the brainy residents of the titular town who, every week, would stumble upon another scientific breakthrough, oftentimes to the detriment of one or more of the civilians. Cleaning up the mess was the only not super-genius person to be living in Eureka, the towns sheriff, Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson). The series started off with a bang, initially raking in impressive viewership numbers for its home network of Syfy (then known as Sci-Fi Channel), but around its fourth season, the numbers began to drop, which ultimately led to its cancellation following Season 5.

We’ve spoken previously about Mick Garris’ Masters of Horror, which brought life into the anthology genre when we needed it again. A year later, Fear Itself brings anthology horror back to primetime.
Now, if you’re me, anthologies are kind of your life. This is one of my favorite parts of Horror, and so being able to see what new takes and tales are on the horizon excites me. Another Jenny Han adaptation has officially graced the small screen. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” began streaming Friday on Amazon Prime Video. It tells the story of a love triangle between three teenagers who have known each other practically their entire lives.
Belly (Lola Tung) has been in love with Conrad (Christopher Briney) for as long as she can remember. But this year, returning to Cousins Beach feels different, especially when she starts to realize she might have feelings for his brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). While the summer love radiating from the series is true to the first book, there are several additions to the series to shake things — particularly the Debutante Ball.

Um, is it already time for 1989 (Taylor’s Version)?! At midnight, Taylor Swift surprised fans with another tease of what is likely the upcoming re-record of her Grammy Award-winning 2014 album, releasing “This Love (Taylor’s Version).” The drop comes after Swift stocked her official store with both 1989 and Speak Now merch earlier in the day, sending Swifties into a frenzy.
“‘This Love’ (My version!) is out & I’m currently reliving the 1989 tour in my head and spiraling,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “It’s fine.”

This summer is about to be one for the books. The first teaser for Prime Video’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty” adaptation is here.
The clip, which you can watch above, opens with Belly (played by Lola Tung) arriving at Cousins Beach for the summer. As the car pulls up the driveway, she says in a voiceover: “I thought this summer was going to be like all the other summers, but it’s not because I won’t let it be.”
She’s quickly reunited with her brother’s best friends, Conrad and Jeremiah, with whom she will soon become entangled in a love triangle.
The rest of the teaser features some tender (and some awkward) moments between the three of them as their feelings develop over that one summer. Oh, and did we mention that it’s set to the tune of a new Taylor Swift re-recording?
That’s right.

A Thousand Little Cuts opens with a longish take of Anne jogging as a pop song plays in the background. Then, without warning, it switches to a brief clip of what seems to a sexual assault. And then we’re at the hospital where Anne is being asked if she’ll be all right.
As if that isn’t confusing enough instead of an answer we cut to Anne her job where her boss blows off for a meeting with her. She picks up her friend Kiara for a wine and bitch session only to walk in on her boyfriend Greg with another woman. Only then do we realize she’s talking to a psychiatrist Dr. Atlas.
If all of that sounds rather confusing, that’s because it is.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “You’re the Worst” Season 4, Episode 12 (“Like People”) and Episode 13 (“It’s Always Been This Way”), the series finale.]
Gretchen chose herself, and she also chose Jimmy.
As Aya Cash’s worstie watched her former other half (Chris Geere) spar with her new other other half (played by Colin Ferguson), it became increasingly clear she couldn’t pick either one. Both were acting like idiots. Both were being immature. Both had made mistakes with her that had not been about her.
So she had to choose herself. Gretchen had to walk out of that kitchen without either man. She had to know that her self-importance, her power, couldn’t be determined by a romantic partner. So she flew solo.
And then she ran in front of Jimmy’s car, slapped him in the face, and put her engagement ring back on, this time (one hopes) for good.
