Medical dramas like "M*A*S*H" and "The Pitt" make for incredibly compelling television. Whether cases are seemingly straightforward, and the doctors are just doing their best to treat their patients, or things are a bit more complicated, there's always an element of life-or-death danger and at least a bit of medical mystery. The hit Fox series "House, M.D." took the medical mystery idea a step further, following brilliant-but-troubled diagnostician Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) as he tries to figure out the cause of a different patient's medical maladies each week. Built like a police procedural but with doctors instead of cops, House was Sherlock Holmes with a stethoscope, and that led to some truly incredible plot twists over the show's eight seasons. There was one truly absurd reveal near the end of season 4, however, that absolutely took the cake.

Jason Ralph’s sudden departure from The Magicians left fans reeling. After four seasons of following Quentin Coldwater’s magical journey, viewers weren’t ready to say goodbye.
But the Season 4 finale rendered an unbelievable spin: Quentin sacrificed himself, ending his story and leaving a massive gap in the series. One thing to consider is that the actor, who portrayed a disillusioned young man turned capable magician, didn’t leave the show on bad terms.

In fact, his departure was a mutual decision that, believe it or not, made sense for both the actor and the series. But still, it’s not every day you see the lead character axed in such a dramatic fashion. So, what went down behind the curtains?

Almost 10 years after it first premiered, Psych remains one of the most beloved detective comedies, partially due to the premise behind Shawn Spencer's character and his "powers." With a unique spin on the classic police procedural, Psych has stood out with its clever references and comedic timing, even creating several Psych parody episodes based on pop-culture hits like The Shining. Psych is different from other detective shows because it introduced a niche to the procedural genre: a fake psychic solving real crimes.
With likable characters like Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez) and Burton "Gus" Guster (Dulé Hill), Psych has also evolved into a movie franchise. Recently, there have even been rumors that Psych 4 might finally happen. Shawn and Gus' friendship is so well-liked that it is no wonder that they continue to be a popular duo several years after the original show stopped airing. Psych's brilliant casting and fun...

Anne Dudek's Psych role as Lassiter's partner, Lucinda Barry, in the pilot episode was quickly replaced by Juliet (Maggie Lawson). Starting with Psych season 1, episode 2, Juliet was the main love interest of Shawn Spencer (James Roday), one of the show's two main protagonists. She was also partnered with Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) at the Santa Barbara police department. Juliet worked alongside Lassiter in solving homicide cases, with Shawn and Gus (Dul Hill) always getting in the way and coming to their own conclusions about each death.
Before Juliet was on Psych, Lassiter had a completely different character as his partner. Played by Anne Dudek, Junior Detective Lucinda Barry was working with Lassiter when Shawn and Gus first came onto the scene. Shawn was quick to deduce through his natural gift of observance that Lassiter who was currently separated from his wife was having an affair with Lucinda. Following this discovery,...

Keenan Ivory Wayans' 2004 comedy "White Chicks" was an oddity when it was released, and it's just as much an oddity now. The plot revolves around a pair of Black, male FBI agents who have to, for contrived reasons, disguise themselves as young, wealthy white women, and the comedy stems entirely from racial and gender juxtapositions the men experience. While there may have been an opportunity to write a penetrating criticism of race and gender, the filmmakers took no opportunities to be even the slightest bit profound. That, at any rate, seemed to be the critical consensus on "White Chicks," which was widely lambasted and was even declared by many to be one of the worst films of its year.
And yet, and yet ... it keeps on drawing people in. As of this writing, "White Chicks" is the highest-rating comedy film on Netflix in the United States. Either the film has...

House season 4 introduced a new team of doctors successfully. The new additions, Thirteen, Kutner, and Taub, blended well and enhanced the show. House season 4 is the most rewatchable and best season due to the new cast dynamics.
House has been over for more than 12 years, but I will never be able to get over how the writers expertly handled the show's best season, especially given that it marked a time of major change for the story and its characters. The Fox medical drama series, created by David Shore, premiered in November 2004 and revolved around Hugh Laurie's Dr. Gregory House, the narcissistic and cynical Head of the Department of Diagnostic Medicine at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. House ran for eight seasons and 177 episodes, some better than others, but its best is inarguable.

Psych was ahead of its time with a fake psychic premise, taking hilarious shots at more serious series like The Mentalist. The show's '80s nostalgia, with frequent references and guest stars, foreshadowed the mainstream '80s revival of the 2020s. Despite her character's redemptive death, Ally Sheedy's Mr. Yang could return in the franchise's upcoming fourth movie spinoff.
While the Brat Packs Ally Sheedy might be best known as the star of numerous classic teen movies, her best comeback role was as a surprisingly scary serial killer in Psych. There is a brand new historical drama coming to Apple TV+ called Manhunt, and not only does the series include characters that audiences will immediately recognize, like the 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, but it also has a cast of well-known stars. Manhunt is a miniseries following the intense real life search for John Wilkes Booth, led by Secretary of War Edwin Stanton after Abraham Lincoln's assassination in 1865. The first two episodes of the series premiered on March 15, 2024, and the show will include seven episodes in total.

Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, Manhunt is an exploration of competing political agendas played out in the shadow of a presidential assassination. Based on the New York Times bestseller "The Twelve Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer" by James L. Swanson, the Apple TV+ series depicts the manhunt for John Wilkes Booth (Anthony Boyle). Directed across seven episodes by industry veterans Carl Franklin (Devil in a Blue Dress) and John Dahl (The Last Seduction), this compelling historical drama demands to be watched.
Packed with Emmy Award winners including Tobias Menzies (The Crown), Patton Oswalt and creator Monica Beletsky (Fargo), this Apple original is a riveting return to a pivotal point in American history. Hannah's relationship with Booth was a rebound after Bones' rejection, leading to an emotional wake-up call for Booth. Kathryn Winnick's portrayal of Hannah showcased her kindness and independence, contrasting with her fierce role on Vikings. The chemistry between Booth and Bones in Bones was central to the show's success, culminating in a series-defining romance.
Hannah on Bones is a recurring character in the police procedural, and viewers may recognize the actress for some of her other notable roles. Audiences saw plenty of different relationships over 12 seasons of Bones. Some were cute, some were long-lived, some lasted less than a season, and then, of course, there was the series-defining romance between Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel). The friends-to-lovers trope is a classic of TV and movies, and the chemistry between Seeley and Bones guaranteed their pairing would elevate the show.

Fan theory suggests House died in the blaze in the finale, prompting debate about the show's ambiguous ending. Evidence from the episode, including Wilson's hallucinations, supports the theory that House faked his death. Series creator David Shore has confirmed House faked his death, but clues continue to fuel speculation among fans.
Twelve years after House M.D. was canceled by Fox, fans continue to theorize about the fateful series finale. In the mysterious final chapter of the hit medical drama, "Everybody Dies," embattled surgeon Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) fakes his death after waking up in a burning building. The final image of the long-running TV show depicts House and his long-time friend James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) riding off into the sunset together on their motorcycles in a tender moment of comradely love.

The Good Doctor welcomes Peter Jacobson as a new cast member, adding to the exciting crossover appeal with House alumni. Fans can expect Jacobson's guest appearance in Season 7, Episode 2, bringing a unique sense of nostalgia and familiarity to the show. While the possibility of a Hugh Laurie cameo may be slim, The Good Doctor continues to engage audiences with familiar faces from House.
The Good Doctor is adding another House cast member to its ensemble, which is incredible news for audiences that admire both medical dramas. However, in some ways, the news is also a reminder of the fact that it may be too late for another highly-demanded House cameo in The Good Doctor. This makes the arrival of the House star bittersweet, giving audiences mixed feelings of excitement surrounding the new actor's appearance and longing for the one star who may never make a cameo.

Several prominent cast members from House did not make it to the final season, leaving the medical drama either permanently or temporarily. Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Morrison, Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Amber Tamblyn, Sela Ward, and Anne Dudek all left House at different points throughout the show. Their departures were due to various reasons, such as contract disputes, storyline limitations, new career opportunities, and planned appearances in other projects.
Several prominent actors from the cast of House did not last until the show's ending. House aired for eight seasons in total, during which certain characters left the medical drama, either permanently or temporarily. Many of them did, however, return for House's dramatic series finale.

In the strange world of Hampton DeVille, things are still tenuous at best. For the criminally oversized multinational corporation that forms the backbone of the Comedy Central series “Corporate,” all is still not enough.
Junior executives in training Matt (Matt Ingebretson) and Jake (Jake Weisman) are still trudging through an office environment where breakroom coffee drama can still drive everyone in nearby cubicles to their breaking point. IP rights become a cutthroat game of chicken with Hampton DeVille’s rivals. And hallway gossip of course remains a fixture in all its forms.
For all the existential dread that’s blanketed “Corporate” since its premiere in 2018, at a point when that drudgery should feel more restrictive and hopeless than ever, there’s something about Season 3 that manages to find some peace amidst that daily buildup. Maybe part of it is that this last batch of six episodes is the show’s farewell.

Comedy Central's Corporate will close shop with its third season.
Get ready for one more soul-sucking shift at Hampton DeVille, as Comedy Central has renewed their critically praised scripted comedy series Corporate for a third and final season.
The half-hour series, which debuted in 2017 as the highest-rated basic-cable primetime comedy of the 2017-18 season among males 18-34, saw viewership decline in Season 2, but critical marks soar; Corporate Season 2 currently sits at 100 percent on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
