Interview with the Vampire Season 3 Release Window Revealed
Image
AMC’s highly-anticipatedInterview with the Vampire Season 3 has received a new update, teasing the current production status of the next installment of the hit supernatural drama. The show is based on Anne Rice’s classic gothic novel series, which the network acquired the rights to in 2020, along with Rice’s other acclaimed works.

Per TV Insider, AMC has announced that the network is currently targeting a 2026 release date for Interview with the Vampire Season 3. This comes almost a year since the latest installment concluded its eight-episode run in June 2024. During the Deadline Contenders FYC event, executive producer Mark Johnson confirmed that production on Season 3 will begin production later this year. “The writers are busy working away, meaning Rolin has no time to himself right now,” he said. “We are going to be shooting in Toronto, of all places, later in the year, not too far away.”

'Foundation' Season 3 Finally Gets a Release Window (Sort of)
Image
There’s finally promising news for the premiere of Apple TV+’s Foundation Season 3 after years of keeping fans in suspense. The latest scoop from TVLine’s Matt’s Inside Line reveals a “plausible” release date for the long-awaited season that was announced in December 2023. Foundation is loosely based on Isaac Asimov’s series of stories of the same name and was created for the streamer by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman, who left as co-writer and co-showrunner in April 2019. Goyer also exited the series amid production issues in the past two years, with a new showrunner taking over.

Although there has been no official talk of when exactly Foundation will return to small screens, it may happen later this year. The precise report about its release window reads:

After being paused by the SAG-AFTRA strike and again by budget issues, filming on Season 3 wrapped last summer. Given...

‘Foundation’ Taps Ian Goldberg As New Showrunner; Writers Room Underway For Likely Season 4
Image
Exclusive: After a rocky third season that saw the exit of co-developer/showrunner/director David S. Goyer amid production restarts and budget adjustments, things are looking up for Apple TV+’s sci-fi drama Foundation. With the completed third season not yet scheduled but likely to debut this year, the streamer and Foundation studio Skydance Television already are prepping a fourth installment of Isaac Asimov’s adaptation starring Jared Harris and Lee Pace.

Ian Goldberg (Fear the Walking Dead) has been tapped as new executive producer/showrunner, with a Season 4 writers room up and running, sources tell Deadline. Goldberg’s work on the show falls under an overall deal he has signed with Skydance TV, I hear.

Season 3, which originally paused production in spring 2023 after several weeks of filming due to the WGA strike, was delayed in its 2024 production restart because of issues related to budgeting and physical production. Filming eventually...

I Bet You Didn’t Know Sophie Thatcher Played a Younger Version of One of Horror’s Most Iconic Characters
Image
Fox's The Exorcist, the series that spawned from the 1973 horror film of the same name, made huge strides in prestigious horror television despite only having two seasons, running from 2016 to 2017. With constantly evolving and consistently great performances from Alfonso Hererra, Interview with the Vampire’s Ben Daniels, and film icon Geena Davis, you would be forgiven for not remembering all the smaller roles that pad the series. With Companion in theaters and a new season ofYellowjackets, it’s the perfect time to revisit two brief appearances by the current strongest frontrunner in the Scream Queen game, Sophie Thatcher.

“Lotr: The Rings of Power” Budget: Is It the Costliest TV Show in History?
Image
A few decades ago, if someone had told us that TV would one day stand toe-to-toe with cinema in terms of production value, we would have laughed it off like a bad punchline. But here we are—TV has evolved from a simple filler between dinner and sleep to a juggernaut of cinematic grandeur.

Today’s shows are no less than cinematic marvels, with budgets so vast, they could easily fund a few indie films. From the costumes that look like they were sewn by magic to soundtracks that stir the soul, each frame is a work of art.

Why Claudia Was Recast For Interview With The Vampire Season 2
Image
Recasts on television shows and movies happen all the time for various reasons, but the explanation behind Bailey Bass' exit from her role as Claudia in Interview with the Vampire season 2 is a bit unclear. The AMC gothic horror television series, created by Rolin Jones, is based on Anne Rice's 1976 book of the same name. Interview with the Vampire season 1 introduced viewers to Louis de Pointe du Lac, a vampire recounting his life story to a journalist in 2022, including his time in New Orleans in the 1910s and his encounter with Claudia, a teenage vampire.

Bass originated the role of Claudia in season 1, and Delainey Hayles took over for the actress in season 2. Aside from Hayles, the cast of Interview with the Vampire season 2 includes Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt, Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy, Assad Zaman as Armand, and Ben Daniels as Santiago.

What Order To Read Anne Rice's Books In
Image
Over the course of her 45-year career, novelist Anne Rice penned a multitude of books including a variety of series and standalone titles. She is probably best known for writing the Vampire Chronicles series, which has been adapted to the screen in various formats including the movies Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned. AMC's Interview with the Vampire show is the latest incarnation of the property, part of a line of adaptations that has drawn prominent stars over the years, including Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater, Antonio Banderas, Aaliyah, and Ben Daniels.

Rice's other novels are also gaining more notoriety after the success of AMC's Interview with the Vampire. The show spawned an interconnected franchise known as Anne Rice's Immortal Universe that also includes Mayfair Witches, which is a spinoff starring Alexandra Daddario, Tongayi Chirisa, Jack Huston, and Harry Hamlin, in addition to an upcoming Talamasca spinoff.

Doom (2005)
Doom (2005) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Doom (2005)
A new episode of the Revisited video series has just been released, and with this one we’re looking back at the 2005 video game adaptation Doom (watch it Here) – a movie that didn’t spawn the sort of franchise the game did, but there was a second movie that was released direct-to-video in 2019. Oddly, the title of that movie was Doom: Annihilation, just like the original video game adaptation of Mortal Kombat received a sequel called Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. That’s a story for another time – for now, you can hear all about Doom by checking out the video embedded above.

Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak from a screenplay that was crafted by David Callaham and Wesley Strick, Doom has the following synopsis: Something has gone wrong at a remote scientific research station on Mars. All research has ceased. Communication has failed. And the messages that do get through are less than comforting.

The following contains spoilers for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 Episode 2, "Where the Stars are Strange," now streaming on Prime Video.

Crdan the Shipwright, the future Lord of the Grey Havens, has been one of the most popular additions to the second season of Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Actor Ben Daniels portrayed Crdan with an air of wisdom and serenity that contrasted the brash and ambitious personalities of the series' younger Elves. Unsurprisingly, Elrond turned to someone as sage as Crdan for advice about what to do with the Elven Rings of Power. Crdan originally planned to destroy the Rings by dropping them into an underwater chasm, but after a wave hit his boat and prevented him from doing so,...

"No One's More Intimidated Than I Am": Why Mike Flanagan "Very Aggressively" Fought For New Exorcist Movie
Image
Mike Flanagan explains why he "very aggressively" fought to do his new take on The Exorcist. Five sequels and prequels would follow William Friedkin's seminal 1973 horror movie, the most recent being David Gordon Green's The Exorcist: Believer (2023). After Green's film disappointed critically and commercially, Flanagan, who is best known for projects like The Haunting of Hill House (2018) and Doctor Sleep (2019), is now taking the reins for the franchise in what has been described as a "radical new take" on the IP.

In a recent interview with THR, Flanagan shares more details about his upcoming Exorcist film, revealing that he pushed hard to be chosen as the filmmaker behind whatever project would follow Green's. According to the director, he passionately felt like his unique idea for the franchise was worth pursuing, and that it could up being "the scariest movie I've ever made." Cirdan Getting His Ring Of Power In Live-Action Is Way More Sinister Than Tolkien Wrote It
Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 introduces the new and powerful elf, Crdan, played by Ben Daniels. However, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a hazy past for Crdan, but The Rings of Power follows a new story of how Crdan got his ring of power. It's no secret that The Rings of Power isn't afraid to alter The Lord of the Rings canon, as the series should stand apart from the other adaptations of the story. However, The Rings of Power season 1 ending set the story on a new path for the narrative's next installment.

While most of season 1 left the viewer in the dark about where Sauron was and how the rings of power would be forged, all of this becomes clear in the first few episodes of season 2. This is when Crdan enters as one of the elves who obtains a ring of power. Who Crdan...

Why Does Elrond Want to Destroy the Rings of Power in Season 2? Their Grim Future Looms - Main Image

Middle-Earth is seemingly running out of time with the Dark Lord Sauron still on the loose. But why does Herald Elrond want to destroy the rings of power? These were the elves' last hope, after all.

Spoiler Warning: This article contains major spoilers for The Rings of Power season 2, so proceed with caution.

Elrond Saw Darkness in the Rings, Despite the High King's Orders

Galadriel (played by Morfydd Clark) recently unveiled the truth: Halbrand was Sauron's human disguise, which the High King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker) didn't take lightly.

As a part of their last hope, the High King believes that the three rings would be their last hope in saving the elven kingdom. Eldron (Robert Aramayo), on the other hand, refused to believe that Sauron's creations would help them from their tragic fate.

‘Rings of Power’ Season 2 Cast and Character Guide: Who’s Who?
Image
“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is back for Season 2, and this time around there are a number of new characters to keep straight. With Sauron revealed to be Halbrand at the end of Season 1, the chess pieces are now fully in the open and the Dark Lord is masquerading as yet another new character this season in order to try and forge the titular rings. We’ve also got drama with the dwarves, in-fighting amongst the elves and that guy who most definitely is Gandalf is wandering the desert with a harfoot.

Absent in Season 2 is Nazanin Boniadi who played Bronwyn, who exited the show. But new to the cast are Ciaran Hinds, Rory Kinnear and plenty more filling out this prequel series that tackles J.R.R. Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 Premiere Recap: An Ominous Alliance Looms — Grade Episode 1!
Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returned on Thursday morning with a thrilling flashback, lots of deception, and a problematic partnership. Let’s recap just the first of the three new episodes, now streaming on Prime Video.

As Season 2 opens, Sauron (played by Charlie Vickers) addresses his hordes at Forodwaith. Adar (Sam Hazeldine, replacing Joseph Mawle), the dastardly Orc who caused so much trouble last season, stands nearby, his expression unreadable. The Orcs bristle at Sauron’s admission that many of them will die in pursuit of “this new, perfect order,” but none move against him. Not yet.

Círdan from The Rings of Power and Kevan Lannister from Game of Thrones were romantic partners for decades
Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is back on Prime Video for a second season. We visit new locations and meet new characters in the first three episodes, available to stream now. That includes Círdan, a shipwright who is among the oldest elves in Middle-earth.

Círdan is played by English actor Ben Daniels, who you may recognize from his turn as the campy vampire Santiago in AMC's Interview With The Vampire, a role he absolutely crushed. For that reason alone, I'm looking forward to seeing him on The Rings of Power.

Daniels' personal life is also of interest, since it intersects with the star of another big fantasy series. English actor Ian Gelder played Tywin Lannister's younger brother Keven for years on HBO's Game of Thrones. As it ends up, Gelder and Daniels were partners in real life.

Daniels and Gelder met during a London stage...

J.R.R. Tolkien
Rings Of Power Star Rory Kinnear On Tom Bombadil: "They Are Using Him In A Different Way To How Tolkien Did"
J.R.R. Tolkien
"Eldest, that's what I am... Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn... He knew the dark under the stars when it was fearless - before the Dark Lord came from Outside."

We recently got confirmation that a fan-favorite character from J.R.R. If you've read Tolkien's seminal trilogy, you should be very familiar with this mysterious character, who was introduced along with his wife Goldberry when Frodo and his company made their way through the Old Forest in The Fellowship of the Ring. Critics’ Conversation: Real Life Was Riveting — Summer TV, Not So Much
Image
Daniel Fienberg: How the blazes have we reached the end of the summer already? Sorry, Matthew McConaughey in True Detective. Time isn’t a flat circle. It’s a vortex, and the summer of 2024 got sucked right in.

Since June, politics has given us The Worst Debate in History, an assassination attempt, a new Republican vice-presidential candidate (and attendant memes), a sitting president dropping out of the race, a new Democratic presidential nominee, and the meteoric rise of her avuncular running mate, whom 95 percent of Americans couldn’t have picked out of a lineup in May.

Smack in between two political conventions, our attentions shifted to Paris for the Olympics, where we marveled at the largely E. coli- and entirely shark-free beauty of the Seine, celebrated Simone Biles, ogled French pole vaulters, held our breath through one impossible comeback after another, and attempted to make sense of competitive breakdancing...

Final “The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power” Season 2 Trailer Out Now

Evil reveals itself. Ahead of its premiere, Prime Video has released the final trailer for Season 2 of “The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power.” The big-budget high fantasy series is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s original “Lord of the Rings” trilogy during the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. Per the official Season 2 logline, after being cast out by Galadriel without army or ally, Sauron has returned, and the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power. The second season will reportedly build to the Siege of Eregion, a deadly and definitive battle in Tolkien’s history of the Second Age of Middle-earth that marked the beginning of the War of the Elves and Sauron.

Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power unleashed a barnstorming trailer at Sdcc, showcasing the deep lore of Middle Earth being incorporated into the new season of the Tolkein-based Prime Video series. After a less than stunning reaction from audiences to Season 1, the series showrunners promised that Season 2 would be more connected to the world of Tolkien that fans know and love, and it seems they are delivering on that promise.

The trailer for Season 2 delivers new looks at returning characters such as Galadriel, the Stranger, the Harefoots, and Sauron, who begins his ascent to power and brings war to Middle Earth. Rings Of Power's Newest Elf Character Only Adds Fuel To A Frustrating Criticism
Image
Crdan The Shipwright will sport a beard in Rings of Power, sparking outrage over the adaptation's portrayal of Elves. Critics argue that Rings of Power's male Elves deviate from Tolkien's descriptions, adding fuel to existing debates. Tolkien's works allow for variation in Elves' appearances, challenging the idea of a monolithic race in Middle-earth.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has added another Elf character to season 2, and his appearance has invited another wave of criticism. The Prime Video series has been under fire since the very beginning regarding its approach to Middle-earth, and this is unlikely to change anytime soon. While much of this is completely fair, arguments could be made about the appearance of the Elves. There have been complaints that they don't look how people have typically imagined Middle-earth's fair race, which has carried on into Rings of Power's version of Crdan.

Crdan the Shipwright...

The Rings Of Power Season 2 Will Introduce One Of Middle-Earth's Most Important Figures
Image
We've had one extremely nerdy season of "The Rings of Power," yes, but what about a second one? Fans of author J.R.R. Tolkien's foundational fantasy world were spoiled rotten by the Prime Video series and its deep-dive exploration into the furthest era of Middle-earth history we've ever seen adapted: the mythic Second Age. This lengthy period of time encompassed the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the creation of his various Rings of Power, and the first war fought in an attempt to vanquish him -- which didn't quite take, clearly, since Frodo and his buddies would eventually have to do the dirty work themselves and finish the job for good thousands of years later during the events of "The Lord of the Rings." After the first season depicted the beginnings of Sauron's mischief, the next batch of episodes are set to take things even further.

The Rings of Power: First Look at the New Rings of Season 2
Image
When you’re making a TV show called The Rings of Power, there’s a lot of pressure on whoever has to make and design the actual titular rings. The team working on season two of Amazon Prime’s Lord of the Rings series had another challenge as well. Season one was shot in New Zealand, but production shifted to the UK for season two, and as a result, many of the crew behind the scenes only just joined the project this season, including production designer Kristian Milsted, supervising art director Martin Foley, and set decorator Tina Jones, taking over from season one’s Ramsey Avery, Jules Cook, and Megan Vertelle, respectively.

This means that the various Rings of Power in the show will be designed and made by different people in the real world, but they still need to look like they have been made by the same two...

Crdan the Shipwright Sets Sail for 'Rings of Power' Season 2 in New Image
Image
With less than a month until The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns to screens, Prime Video is reintroducing an old character, albeit with a new face. Season 2 brings with it a few new additions to its staggering cast of characters, among which is the shipwright, Crdan, who fans of the Peter Jackson trilogy will remember from his brief appearances in The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King. Instead of Michael Elsworth's wizened Master of the Grey Havens, the series will see a younger iteration of the character, played by Ben Daniels, take on a major role and a new image offers a sneak peek at how he'll appear.

[This story contains spoilers from the season two finale of Interview With the Vampire, “And That’s the End of It. There’s Nothing Else.”]

Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) may have completed his second interview with the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) in Dubai, but the two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist could not resist unraveling the biggest secret that underlied Louis’ strained, 77-year relationship with the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman).
