Joseph Cotten, II grew up in Vienna, Virginia - the suburbs of
Washington, D.C. where his father was a civil engineer for the federal
government. Joe is the nephew of the actor Joseph Cotten. He completed
his Associates degree at Santa Monica College and studied digital
animation at UCLA, Silicon Studio (Santa Monica), and The Gnomon
School.
Joe started his digital art career in 1989 working for The Voyager Company (Santa Monica) as a production artist and designer for The Criterion Collection videos. Among the many jobs in visual effects and motion graphics, he has created digital art for See3 (Santa Monica): modeler, animator, 3D character animator - Fremont Street Experience, Michael Jackson History Tour; Inscape HBO/Warner (Los Angeles): character animator - Tales From The Crypt (computer game); Clarity Station (Culver City): character animator - ATT@Epcot; Belief Productions (Santa Monica): modeler, motion graphics - Bobcat's Big Ass Show; Creative Visual Effects: animator, modeler, compositor - Baby Geniuses 1&2, Noahs Ark, A Dog of Flanders; World of Tomorrow Productions: compositor - Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow; LLP: compositor - Icon, Mysterious Island, The Curse of King Tut's Tomb, Blackbeard.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Penny.
