The Final Destination franchise has been a terrifying rite of passage for entire generations. Whether it’s the infamous log truck scene or the many Rube Goldberg-style deaths that unfold in the blink of an eye, the movies have left a lasting impact. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t reference Final Destination every time they drive behind a truck loaded with steel pipes or hesitate on a rollercoaster.

Now, after more than a decade since the last installment, Final Destination Bloodlines marks the long-awaited return of the franchise. But even as fans soak in the 2025 release, many are already wondering, could there be more? Or is this the last time fate toys with us on screen?

Last year, Final Destination 6 (which is going by the title Final Destination: Bloodlines) finally, after years of development and a long year gap between sequels, made its way through production. Now, just in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the original film, the new sequel has arrived in theatres – and JoBlo’s own Tyler Nichols is marking the occasion by taking a look back at what makes the franchise what it is: the opening accidents. “After an extensive review of the evidence by the Sex Crimes Division, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has determined that the Office is unable to prove sexual assault allegations against David Guillod beyond a reasonable doubt,” Nathan Hochman’s office announced.

Paramount+ has set a premiere date for the next season of Criminal Minds: Evolution — and assured that the show will continue beyond that.

The early pickup for the Criminal Minds sequel comes ahead of the crime drama’s Season 3 premiere, which has been set for May 8, followed by weekly drops on Thursdays.

Speculation about a renewal for Season 4 (overall Season 19 across Criminal Minds and Evolution) started when production on Season 3 (Season 18 overall) wrapped in December, with star Paget Brewster writing on X at the time that “we are optimistic we’ll get a season 19.”
