  • Broke into the industry by working as Designing Women (1986) star Dixie Carter's personal assistant. She would later guest star on his series, Desperate Housewives (2004), as Gloria Hodge, and was nominated for an Emmy as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
  • Won $15,000 as a contestant on The $100,000 Pyramid (1985) in 1986.
  • Once worked as a personal assistant to Dixie Carter.
  • In his cameo on Arrested Development (2003), he was the subject of a morality protest spearheaded by Ann, George Michael's fundamentalist Christian girlfriend; in his real life, Cherry employed the star of Arrested Development (2003), Jason Bateman, in the series Some of My Best Friends (2001).
