- He composed 'Man of Mystery', used as the theme music for the complete series of Edgar Wallace films made by Merton Park Studios in the early sixties. It was re-recorded by The Shadows and became a number 1 hit in the UK.
- In 1943, he wrote with Tommie Connor the English lyrics of the French song "Qu'est-ce qu'on attend pour être heureux ?" which were written in 1938 by André Hornez with the music of Paul Misraki. The title became "I Love To Sing" and the song was sung by Vera Lynn in Rhythm Serenade (1943).
