The release of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2’ has been postponed by a year.The upcoming sequel from Paramount Pictures was originally set for release on October 9, 2026 but has now been pushed back to September 17, 2027. The change in schedule has been caused by delays in animation physical production.Filmmaker Jeff Rowe is directing the follow up to the 2023 film, which included the voice talents of Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube and Paul Rudd. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans will have to wait a bit longer for party time to begin.

Paramount Pictures announced several changes to its release calendar on Friday, with the animated sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 now set for wide theatrical release Sept. 17, 2027, after having previously been slated for Oct. 9, 2026.

Director Jeff Rowe is helming the follow-up to his original film that hit theaters in August 2023 and collected $180 million worldwide. The star-studded voice cast for the first Mutant Mayhem included Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube and Paul Rudd. The franchise launched with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book that debuted in 1984.

The new hit Apple TV+ original series The Studio has earned a renewal for season 2, with the announcement coming from the streamer two weeks ahead of the season 1 finale. The Studio launched on March 26 and ever since has become a fan-favorite and earned a near-perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

In celebration of season 2, co-creators and executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg shared a statement in Apple TV+'s press release, which actually teases "10 more seasons" of the series. Who’s ready for a sequel to the “Kool-Aid” movie? “The Studio,” Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s hit satire that has captured Hollywood’s attention for its scarily on-the-nose depiction of the film industry, has been renewed for a second season by Apple TV+, the streamer announced Tuesday.

The renewal for Season 2 of “The Studio” arrives just before the airing of Episode 8 this Wednesday evening on Apple TV+, and the first season has two more episodes after that. This week will see Rogen’s studio head Matt Remick try to get Zoë Kravitz to thank him in her Golden Globes awards acceptance speech.

“We’re thrilled to be making a second season of ‘The Studio.’ We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making Season 1 and immediately putting it into Season 2, then repeating that loop for ten more seasons,” said creators and executive producers Rogen and Goldberg.

The Holdovers star Dominic Sessa and Antonio Banderas have officially been cast in A24's upcoming Anthony Bourdain biopic, Tony.

Per Variety, Sessa will portray the legendary chef and television personality Anthony Bourdain in Tony, a new A24 biopic from Canadian filmmaker Matt Johnson. Joining Sessa in the film is Banderas, who is fresh off the success of Babygirl and Paddington in Peru. Banderas' role in Tony is being kept under wraps. Per the official logline, Tony will "take place in 1976 when a young Bourdain has a life-changing experience working and living in Provincetown, Mass." Todd Bartels and Lou Howe penned the script for the film. The film is set to begin filming in May. There is no official release date for Tony.

Anthony Bourdain was a world-renowned chef and television personality who rose to prominence due in large part to his bestselling memoir, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.

With The Studio winning hearts on Apple TV, one can’t help but wonder why Seth Rogen had stayed away from the platform before that! Well, that isn’t true, because before there was The Studio, there was the rom-com Platonic that Seth Rogen was a part of.

While The Studio is an out-and-out satire comedy that throws light on the realities of Hollywood in a hilarious way, Platonic was a beautiful romantic comedy that went by comparatively unnoticed. It first aired in 2023, and Seth Rogen was seen starring with the talented actress Rose Byrne.

Tribeca Film Festival announced its main feature line-up yesterday, with films including Miley Cyrus' Something Beautiful, described as a "visual album" companion piece to her album of the same name and Mariska Hargitay's documentary about her mother Jayne Mansfield.

The festival has previously announced it will open with Billy Joel documentary And So It Goes and close with Yanuni, a documentary about an indigenous chief's attempts to protect her land, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Among the UK films in the line-up is action comedy Deep Cover, which stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Orlando Bloom and Allison Elwood's US/UK co-produced music documentary Culture Club. Meanwhile, featuring music of a different sort is Just Sing, which sees a group take on The International Collegiate Championship of A Cappella.

The Last of Us is back, and this time, it brings heartbreaking stories, scares, and characters that will live on for a long time. In Season 2, Joel and Ellie’s duo, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, are back on screen once again.

This new season also brings some new faces, and one of them is the most talked-about name, Dina, played by Isabela Merced, who is Ellie’s love interest and a key part of the story.

“The Good Daughter” limited series adaptation at Peacock has added four new series regulars, Variety has learned.

Olivia Williams, Michael Dorman, Audrey Grace Marshall, and Drew Cheek have all joined the series, which is based on the Karin Slaughter novel of the same name.

They will star alongside previously announced cast members Rose Byrne, Meghann Fahy, Brendan Gleeson, and Harper Steele. Paula Malcomson and Jake McDorman are also set to appear in the series.

The official description for the series states:

Regina Hall is set to star with Will Ferrell and Zac Efron in an untitled comedy film from Amazon MGM Studios.

Nicholas Stoller is directing the project from his own script, with the movie previously titled Judgment Day. The feature reunites the director with Ferrell following their collaboration on You’re Cordially Invited, which launched on Prime Video earlier this year and also stars Reese Witherspoon.

The new film centers on a young convict (Efron) who gets out of prison and takes an unscripted TV courtroom hostage, as he is convinced that the judge (Ferrell) delivered a ruling that destroyed his life. Details regarding Hall’s role are being kept under wraps.

The actor, who plays Charlie in the comedy series, tells TV Insider that he and the rest of the cast have wrapped filming on Season 2. “I’m really excited,” MacFarlane adds. “I’m not quite sure the airdate yet, but that was a great show to work on.” In Season 1, Charlie and his wife, Sylvia (Rose Byrne), deal with struggles in their marriage when her former best friend Will (Seth Rogen), who’s recently divorced, comes back into her life. A revival of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and of Oedipus, starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville, will be part of Roundabout Theater Company’s 2025-2026 Broadway season.

Created and directed by Robert Icke, Oedipus comes to Broadway after a West End run, also starring Strong and Manville, which has been nominated for four Olivier Awards and was the highest-growing limited run in the Wyndham Theatre’s history. The play, which sets Sophocles’ Greek tragedy in modern times on election night, is set to play Studio 54 for a 14-week run starting in November.

Oedipus, Robert Icke’s West End hit reimagining of the Sophocles tragedy starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville, will transfer to Broadway this fall for a 14-week engagement as part of the Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2025-2026 season.

Produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Sue Wagner, John Johnson, and Patrick Catullo, in association with the Roundabout, Oedipus will kick off the Roundabout’s upcoming season with performances beginning in November at the theater company’s Studio 54 Broadway venue.

Reprising their roles from the sold-out London staging, Strong plays Oedipus and Manville portrays Jacosta.
