Martyn Burke
Martyn Burke has won or been nominated for numerous awards (Emmy Award; Writers Guild of America; Directors Guild of America) in the U.S. and has won Best Screenplay in Canada. Other works include the adaptation of Orwell's Animal Farm and co-writing the zany Paramount comedy Top Secret! -among other Hollywood comedies and dramas.

He produced and directed the 2013 Peabody Award winning feature documentary Under Fire: Journalists In Combat which was also short-listed for the Academy Awards. In 2015 he won the International Press Institute's Auteur Award for his work in film.

The author of six highly acclaimed novels (see: www.martynburke.com) he has been nominated for Best First Novel in Canada and several of his novels have been under option to major movie studios. His novels have been translated and published in Japan, Turkey, France, Germany, Holland and many other foreign countries. His novel The Commissar's Report has just been sold to HBO in Hollywood, to be produced as a series.

He currently divides his time between Toronto and Santa Monica California
