English record producer and pioneering trance DJ Paul Oakenfold, a three-time Grammy nominee who’s remixed songs for Madonna, Moby and Massive Attack, has listed one of his three houses in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills with an asking price of $3.5 million. (The asking price has since been drastically reduced to just under $3 million.) Currently skittering across Europe on a worldwide tour, Oakenfold snatched up the early-1950s post-and-beam-built residence just about three years ago for a snippet under $2.7 million.
Designed by Alfred Hitchcock’s Oscar-winning production designer Robert Boyle, and snugly sequestered behind a street-level two-car garage, the just over 2,800-square-foot residence nestles into a steep hillside almost directly above the Hollywood Bowl at the tail end of a cul-de-sac in the celeb-favored Outpost Estates neighborhood. The four-bedroom and four-bathroom abode is also available as a rental, with a rate pushing up on $10,000 per month.

'Destino' is an animated short film released in 2003 by Disney, the short is a collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí. Its production originally began in 1945 and took 58 years before its eventual completion.
'Destino' was storyboarded by Disney studio artist John Hench and artist Salvador Dalí for eight months in late 1945 and 1946; however production ceased not long after. The Walt Disney Company, then Walt Disney Studios, was plagued by many financial woes in the World War II era. Hench compiled a short animation test of about 17 seconds in the hopes of rekindling Disney's interest in the project, but the production was no longer deemed financially viable and put on indefinite hiatus.
In 1999, Walt Disney's nephew Roy E. Disney, while working on Fantasia 2000, unearthed the dormant project and decided to bring it back to life. Disney Studios France, the company's small Parisian production department, was brought...

How the best new kids' movies are putting voice actors out of work, and perpetuating Hollywood's star system
"Well you might as well talk to me because nobody else will talk about it. I'm not afraid of anybody." I've just told prolific voice actor Billy West – who over the past two decades has worked extensively on the likes of Ren & Stimpy and Futurama – that I'm writing about the use of Hollywood actors in animated feature films. He's not a fan, and is eager to speak about it. "I love tickling the dragon's tail," he says. "It makes me feel like I'm alive! If I can't Tourette out the truth I should be muzzled. I can't help it. Some people say, 'Aren't you afraid you're gonna be blackballed?' but you know what? I'm 60 years old. I don't think there's anything in the world that I'm afraid of."

Say what you will about the lack of creativity and constant remakes, prequels and sequels in Hollywood, but there are some people who are thinking a bit outside of the box. Case in point, somebody out there came up with the idea to make one of William Shakespeare.s plays using garden gnomes. Speaking with the director and writer of the film, Kelly Asbury, we discussed the mythology of the little stone statues, the character design of his characters, and employing every British actor out there this side of the Harry Potter franchise. Check out the interview below! What inspired you to make a movie about garden gnomes? Well, it wasn.t my idea, I wish I could claim it was. I got a phone call from my producer, Baker Bloodworth, about five years ago to the day [note: interview took place on January 21, 2011] and I was a huge Elton ...

Sunday, January 23 was a busy day for "Gnomeo and Juliet" cast who were in duty to attend the world premiere in Los Angeles. James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, who provided voice for the characters, were among them who showed up at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California.
While they hit the blue carpet solo, Elton John who produces the animation came with husband David Furnish who is also among the board of producers along with Baker Bloodworth and Steve Hamilton Shaw. The British musician additionally has his songs featured in the film.
Other voice cast members attending the special screening were Patrick Stewart and Ashley Jensen. Rocker Ozzy Osbourne who voices a character named Fawn was not seen among the crowd, but his wife Sharon and son Jack were present on behalf of the Black Sabbath star.

- Shakespearean works have seen their fair share of adaptations on the big screen -- think 10 Things I Hate About You, O, or any other movie starring Julia Stiles. Now comes perhaps the most bizarre adaptation of all: James McAvoy and Emily Blunt are in talks to lend their voices to Gnomeo and Juliet. Yes, that's right -- gnomes. The CGI picture will portray Romeo and Juliet as star-crossed gnomes from rival gardens. Perhaps instead of Juliet poisoning herself, she'll drink a can of pesticide.Big names like Kate Winslet and Ewan McGregor were once attached to the project, which was picked up by Walt Disney Feature Animation and then dropped by incoming Pixar executives. Disney later revived the project in 2006, which is now slated to be completed by 2010. Rumor has it that other stars are in talks to voice supporting roles, although nothing has been confirmed. The feature by

New York -- James McAvoy and Emily Blunt might soon discover the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence -- if you're a garden gnome in love.
The pair are in negotiations to play the title roles of "Gnomeo and Juliet," a CGI-animated Shakespeare adaptation from Miramax and Elton John's Rocket Pictures.
The film will feature several John classics but not Kate Winslet; she was first attached to voice Juliet two years ago and fell out because of scheduling conflicts. Tim Rice also was approached to write original songs with his "Lion King" partner John at the time, but the soundtrack now will be filled with the performer's well-known hits and possibly a few new tracks.
In the loose and edgy adaptation of Shakespeare's play, McAvoy ("Atonement") and Blunt ("The Devil Wears Prada") would play lovers from rival gardens. John, who is producing alongside his offscreen partner David Furnish, Baker Bloodworth and Steve Hamilton Shaw, is said to be pursuing big-name talent to voice supporting roles.
Rocket initially brought "Gnomeo" to Walt Disney Feature Animation, but several years later the project was dropped by incoming Pixar executives John Lasseter and Ed Catmull. Miramax president Daniel Battsek, who followed the project while at Buena Vista International, persuaded Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook to revive it at his specialty division in April 2006.
Kelly Asbury will direct from an original script by Rob Sprackling and John R. Smith. Kevin Cecil, Andy Riley and Mark Burton have worked on later versions of the screenplay. Now in the storyboard stage, production is expected to be completed by 2010.
McAvoy, repped by Wma and United Agents, had his first big-budget hit with this summer's "Wanted." After a string of upcoming indies, the CAA- and Ken McReddie Associates-repped Blunt is expected to follow suit with "The Wolfman" in summer 2009.
