  • Because of his popularity as a singer he was engaged as an actor for several movies from 1930.
  • During World War II he entertained soldiers at the front. During a tour to Norway in died in Oslo in 1945.
  • The actor, singer and composer Luigi Bernauer began his acting career at cabarets in Vienna where he often sang humorous songs.
  • He was successful in such a way that his songs were broadcasted in the radio and sold as records. Some of his own composed songs were also very successful like "Die alte Zahnradbahn".
  • In his career, used many aliases as : Luigi Bernauer, Hans Hellmer, Bert Brand, Fred Lustig, Hans Bauer, Georg Walden and many others.
  • Bernauer composed one of the most famous Viennese songs of the late 1930s, The Old Rack Railway .
  • Bernauer ruled the entire former international pop repertoire and left countless recordings. Some recordings with Wiener Schrammel company have also been preserved under his real first name Ludwig .
  • He performed in Viennese cabaret and became a popular radio and record singer during the 1920s and 1930s.
  • Some of Bernauer's recordings were placed under film actors' singing roles.
  • After the First World War , Bernauer, who actually wanted to take up a commercial profession, turned to music.
  • At that time, many record producers had recordings made by different singers, often using the same, fixed pseudonyms .
  • Bernauer also recorded for the then largest European record company, the German Carl Lindström AG, as Fred Lustig Schlager, which were marketed by the then very well-known record brand Odeon .
