“Justice League” actor calls out company’s statement reaffirming “commitment to be part of the solution”
Ray Fisher’s ongoing public battle with WarnerMedia continued Tuesday when the “Justice League” actor slammed the company’s “commitment to be part of the solution,” after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three counts of murder and manslaughter for his role in the killing of George Floyd.
“The work continues,” WarnerMedia’s Tuesday statement read. “While this verdict doesn’t bring back those we’ve so wrongly lost, we know that it brings us closer to significant change. We reaffirm our commitment to be part of the solution by using our platforms, content, and resources to advance racial equity and social justice.”

Plenty of shared universes have fallen by the wayside in recent years because the brains behind them were too focused on using their movies to tell audiences that this was only the beginning and bigger and better things were set to come in the future, but completely forgot to give them a reason to care in the first place, leading to a series of exposition-filled blockbusters that left plenty of plot threads dangling before ultimately being abandoned completely.

WaterTower Music is proud to announce the November 10 release of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Warner Bros. Pictures’ epic action adventure Justice League. The album features one of the industry’s most versatile and accomplished film composers, Danny Elfman, who is returning to score a DC Super Hero film for the first time since 1992’s Batman Returns.
While bringing his celebrated and unique approach to the Justice League score, Elfman also gives DC fans some special familiar moments. Utilizing memorable character themes to tell the musical story, he incorporates and re-interprets iconic music from past films, including John Williams’ Superman theme, Hans Zimmer’s Wonder Woman theme, and his own Batman theme. “I’m using the same thematic material that I used back then,” Elfman told Billboard Magazine. “It never actually went away. We’ve got these iconic bits from our past and that’s part of us, that’s part of our heritage.

Though The Batman is still a long ways away from entering production, the rumor mill continues to churn on. Outside of Justice League footage and the photos released of Jason Mamoa grimacing, we haven't seen a lot regarding Aquaman. Today just a little more on the film has been released as it starts shooting. Warner Bros. sent out a press release which included the title card for the DC superhero film, and it kinda looks like a warped Star Trek logo. Compared to past Aquaman logos, it's definitely a bit more rigid than past incarnations and looks a whole lot less like an A, which is the original intention behind the logo. Check the press release below and share your thoughts.

A new script is in development from DC and Warner Brothers for the feature film Green Lantern Corps. We know that the recent Green Lantern movie, starring Ryan Reynolds, failed miserably. But, this time around we may have the creative talent to at least create a good script. The upcoming film is being written by David Goyer (all Christopher Nolan Batman movies, Jumper, Blade, Man of Steel, and he is working on TV shows The Sandman and Krypton) and Justin Rhodes (Grassroots, Contract Killers -- side note he was born in my home town and we are two years apart). Goyer is also producing alongside Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, and I think we all hope that Johns will usher in a new age of legit DC films.

According to a recent New York Post article, the alleged Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice fallout is continuing behind the scenes at Warner Brothers. The rumor suggests that Greg Silverman, the WB production chief and Sue Kroll, the president of worldwide marketing and distribution, are up on the chopping block. This comes after the news of Charles Roven's producing future DC Comics movies to be in question, Ben Affleck being promoted to executive producer on Justice League (where he stars as Batman, and is directed by Zack Snyder) and Geoff Johns and Jon Berg being promoted to co-heads of DC Films. Warner Brother's next superhero movie, Suicide Squad, will release in theaters August 5, 2016. No doubt, Warner Brothers is hoping that movie will be much more critically and financially successful. Especially as they are trying to establish the DC Cinematic Universe to rival the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the X-Men universe.

In an new interview, Ben Affleck says his forthcoming Batman solo movie will tell an "original story"...
Warner-dc may be making changes behind the scenes with its movie universe - Geoff Johns and Jon Berg have been brought in to oversee the films' storytelling, while veteran producer Charles Roven's moving over to an exective role - but Ben Affleck's still busy working on his solo Batman movie.
Exactly what we can expect from the new Batman is understandably vague at this point, though there have been rumours that it will somehow rope in just about every major villain the Caped Crusader's fought so far. In a new interview with Argentine outlet Cinos Argentinos, Affleck's talked a little bit about the story he's writing - and how it's an original yarn only partly inspired by DC's comics.

It’s become impossible to write about the DC movies or this title in particular without people getting up in arms for one reason or another, but it remains intriguing to see how they are moving forward. One of the reasons you build your entire marketing plan before you release the movie in any format is so you aren’t playing from a reactive place. After the incredibly divisive response to the film, it would be easy to see this as Zack Snyder and Warner’s way of apologizing… only that’s not the case. This is something they planned to do from the moment they realized how different the theatrical cut was going to be compared to what they ended up releasing in theaters. It’s almost startling to see how different a movie this appears to be based on this ad. It’s funny to read people get excited all over again,...

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has long been known as "franchise viagra." Just add The Rock and (for the most part) audiences are happy to smell what he's cooking...with the exception of Hercules. He'll be joining the DC universe as Black Adam in Shazam in April of 2019, but according to Johnson's producing partner, Hiram Garcia (via ComicBook.com), that timetable could move forward a bit. For those who are unfamiliar, Shazam is a wish-fulfillment story about a boy named Billy Batson, who shouts "Shazam!" to invoke the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the invulnerability of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. In other words, he transforms into a Superman-like figure. It's a light-hearted and hopeful comic, and Garcia assures that's just what the film will be, saying, "Our take on that world is first and foremost about bad a** fun.

Ever since the news came out yesterday that Geoff Johns will join with Jon Berg as the joint-bosses of the WB’s new DC Film Division, the hopes of many fans have been raised. With a new vision now overseeing the Dceu, will it climb out of its slump and start delivering films that live up to the potential of the characters?
Has Warner Bros/DC found their own Kevin Feige? With DC lagging behind Marvel's movie franchises, many fixes have been suggested for the struggling Dceu. One of them is that the Dceu needs a single, focused vision to oversee its course, the way Marvel has Kevin Feige as the lord-and-master of the entire McU. For a time, it seemed like WB/DC had settled on Zack Snyder as their creative mastermind, despite the underwhelming results he’s delivered to them with Watchmen, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.

WB and DC certainly seem to be snagging headlines left and right these days. Following the release of Batman v Superman, their continuing foray into their own DC Extended Universe has been a hot topic of debate and discussion. While they've been trying to get this universe off the ground, it's been a bit unnerving to fans that the studio had nothing of a Kevin Feige (i.e., an overlord with a vision for the whole universe). Recently, it was reported that DC has taken their first steps in that direction with Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, but those don't seem to be the only things WB is doing.
The studio also seems to be taking a lot of the criticism of Batman v Superman to heart. If you believe the rumors that have been floating around, WB appears to be trying to add more levity to their next film,...

The fallout from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice sees Warner Bros bringing in Kevin Feige-esque figures to head DC movies.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice continues to have ramifications for Warner Bros, and how it manages its DC movie universe. Appreciating that some people care for the film very much, the fundamental problem Warner Bros is facing is that many didn’t, and that a movie that was expected to gross over $1bn has fallen some way short of that. The total right now is $870m, and for a film with DC's two most famous characters in it, that's below what was predicted.
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War is set to soar past the $1bn mark by the end of this week (having been on release for just over a fortnight), to put it in context. And current estimates suggest that that film...

Deadline has confirmed a major reorganization at Warner Bros regarding the approach to the still-building film series based on its DC Comics properties. Warner Bros declined comment, but sources with knowledge of the reorganization have confirmed that DC chief content officer Geoff Johns, who helped establish the brand’s presence on television, and WB Evp Jon Berg will now co-run DC Films. While DC Films has long been a production banner within Warner Bros, it will now…...

Star Wars: Rogue One will see the dramatic return of the At-at. Ryan takes a look back at the Empire walker's creation and hidden origins...
Their introduction almost matches Darth Vader's grand entrance in the original Star Wars when it comes to sheer menace. We see the walkers first as black dots against the planet Hoth's snow-white horizon. Then we see their huge, lumbering feet through a Rebel's Electrobinoculars. Cut to a reaction shot of R2-D2 in the underground Rebel base, whistling fractiously as chunks of ice are shaken loose by the thud-thud of those metal feet.
It's only after a squadron of snowspeeders is scrambled that we finally get a proper look at the Imperial walkers: looming some 15 metres above the ice, they're a startling amalgam of tank and beast: heads bristling with cannon and blasters, armoured body mounted atop four striding legs. Compared to the Empire's rank-and-file Stormtroopers,...

Much has been said regarding the aftermath of Batman v Superman. While I don't think many people would call it a failure -- the movie still made around $725 million worldwide thus far -- it's definitely been a bit of a disappointment in the eyes of the studio. As we reported yesterday, the film may very well make less profit than Man Of Steel, despite Man Of Steel being made on a smaller budget, and despite only starring Superman in the lead role.
Now rumors seem to be flying about all kinds of goings on behind the scenes. Recently there was word that they'd be going back into Suicide Squad reshoots with the intent of making it lighter and funnier. While we can't confirm or deny that, actor Jai Courtney did go on the record to say that the rumor was false, as far as he could tell. Now the latest...

In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder opened up a bit about the WB/DC's philosophy when it comes to the tone of its upcoming slate of films. Much has been made about there being some sort of mandate that the film's all be sort of serious, dark, and gritty. When asked about this, Snyder says that there is no hard and fast rule about tone at the studio.
Snyder revealed that each film, whether it be Justice League, Aquaman, Green Lantern Corps, or Cyborg, is going to be its own animal- and he even name-dropped a couple of specific examples:
"Zack Snyder: The mandate is that we try and make the best movies we can. If you're making a Flash movie with Ezra Miller, it's like millennial Flash. It's going to be a little lighter than making a World War I epic with this feminist icon like Wonder Woman.

Exclusive: Ben Affleck and David Fincher will reteam on a Warner Bros remake of the classic Hitchcock thriller Strangers On A Train. Gillian Flynn, who adapted her novel Gone Girl for Fincher and Affleck, is in talks to write the script. The film will be produced by Affleck under Pearl Street, the Warner Bros-based banner he runs with Matt Damon. WB’s Jon Berg is overseeing. They are calling it Strangers.
Although the Hitchcock remake — a Warner Bros library title and an adaptation of the Patricia Highsmith novel — will be its basis, this film will be contemporary and redefined for the times. This one might be best titled Strangers On A Plane, as Affleck will play a variation of the role played by Farley Granger of a tennis pro who is bored with his marriage and wants to get divorced but instead gets entwined with a wealthy socialite psycho who...

Exclusive: Warner Bros has acquired Cloaked, a pitch that will be scripted by Derek Connolly and will be produced by Warners-based Team Downey partners Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey. The pitch is based on an idea by Robert Downey Jr., and the Downeys developed the concept with the writer before bringing it to the studio. They’re keeping the logline under wraps, but it’s a supernatural horror comedy in the vein of An American Werewolf In London, which perfectly threaded the needle combining laughs and scares. Connolly has been writing huge movies. His last two credits, Jurassic World and Monster Trucks, are currently in production at Universal and Paramount, respectively. Connolly did substantial rewrites on each of those projects. Team Downey’s Amanda Burrell will oversee the project with Warner Bros execs Cate Adams and Jon Berg. The scribe is repped by Verve, 3 Arts, and attorney Lev Ginsburg.

Exclusive: Warner Bros is moving forward with a drama that will trace the origins of organized crime in Russia. The studio has hired Andrew Sodroski to write Vor V Zakone. That is a Russian term that translates to Thief In Law, which refers to a professional criminal who holds elite status among other law breakers. This traces back to the Russian Revolution of 1917, where Stalin attempted to exterminate the criminal underworld and filled the gulags with bandits and thugs of every stripe. Rather than weed them out, that effort united them and created a heirarchy that continues to this day, with soldiers wearing their rank in the form of tattoos bestowed by leaders from prison. The narrative thru line here is how one man, a leader of the Vor V Zakone, rose to become the very person his brethren swore never to serve: the Tsar himself. Michael Andreen is producing.
