Bad Moms proved that sometimes the perfect casting choice comes from unexpected turns. That’s exactly what happened with Mila Kunis after actress Zoe Saldana said no to the project that ultimately went to her. Fans might’ve seen a very different version of the movie if the MCU actress hadn’t skipped it. But luckily for us, the Friends with Benefits actress stepped in at the right time and completely owned the part.
Her portrayal of the tired, overworked mom who’s just trying to be perfect felt so real, it instantly clicked with the audience. Let’s dive deeper to know exactly how she landed the role and why Zaldana had to say no to the project.

Over the years, Disney has brought to the screens tons of princesses, each with a new story, a new tagline, and a new personality. This long of flicks on Disney princesses, of course, includes Frozen as well, which didn’t take long to become a fan favorite because of just how grounded and relatable it all was with Elsa and Anna’s respective personalities.
However, as it seems, the movie might as well have never existed had Kristen Bell been cast in another one of my absolute favorite Disney princess movies that I wouldn’t trade the world for: The $591 million Tangled. If anything, many might claim the Mouse House made a mistake by not casting Bell. But even if so, then it might as well be deemed Disney’s best mistake.

Below, you can find seven movies that always lift our spirits, and hopefully help you decide what to watch today.
“Big Daddy” 1. Big Daddy (1999)
Adam Sandler has plenty of early gems to choose from, but we’ll always go back to “Big Daddy.” It’s the perfect blend of comedy and heartwarming story, and doesn’t get overly reliant on cheap jokes. Plus, who can resist the cuteness of baby Sprouse twins?...

There will be more to love when Netflix’s smash-hit rom-com, Nobody Wants This, returns for Season 2. Creator Erin Foster spoke to IndieWire about what fans can expect when unconventional lovers Noah (Adam Brody) and Joanne (Kristen Bell) make it back to the small screen. Foster based the show on her own relationship with her husband, as the show follows a Rabbi who falls in love with a podcaster with no religious affiliation. Nobody Wants This was a match made in early aughts nostalgia heaven with the casting of Brody and Bell, and viewers can expect more of the same when the show returns, as Foster shared with the outlet.
“It’s gonna be romantic and funny. I’m not in the business of depriving people of what they want on a show like this, and making some like, artistic choice to rob you of what you want to see.

Michael Schur and Chris Pratt are some of the most celebrated names in modern entertainment. Schur has earned acclaim for incredible work on shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation, the latter of which also helped catapult Pratt to stardom. Meanwhile, Pratt has transitioned into a full-fledged movie star, headlining major franchises since his days on the NBC sitcom.
However, their shared legacy goes beyond the beloved sitcom that launched their collaboration. In fact, Schur and Pratt were once poised to reunite on a passion project, a TV series based on Field of Dreams, which unfortunately never made it to air, reportedly due to Pratt himself.

Netflix returned to the upfronts in fine fashion.
Netflix’s upfront event took place at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in Manhattan. The biggest name in streaming kept things intimate, with a scant 500 or so people in attendance. Compared to Disney, which filled a convention hall at the Javits Center, and NBCUniversal, which took over Radio City Music Hall, Netflix’s presentation felt downright cozy.
Jude Law and Jason Bateman opened the show with some discussion of Netflix’s reach and programming before some playful banter and hyping up their new drama series “Black Rabbit.”
Amy Reinhard, Netflix’s president of advertising, took the stage next, telling advertisers in attendance that Netflix shows are not just put on in the background and ignored. “When you compare us to our competitors, attention starts higher and ends much higher,” Reinhard said. “And even more impressive, members pay as much attention to mid-roll...

Season 2 of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This has wrapped filming, and the confirmation came alongside exciting behind-the-scenes photos. Heartthrob actors Kristen Bell and Adrian Brody made a comeback last year with the release of Nobody Wants This, a great Netflix romantic comedy about a Rabbi named Noah and an atheist sex podcaster named Joanne falling in love. The show quickly became a fan favorite, and Netflix, unsurprisingly, picked up Nobody Wants This season 2.
News has slowly trickled out about the second season, and luckily it seems that audiences won’t have to wait too much longer. Jackie Tohn, who plays Esther in the cast of Nobody Wants This, confirmed on May 13, 2025, that filming had wrapped for season 2.

Series creator Erin Foster has just wrapped the second season of her Netflix smash hit, “Nobody Wants This.” No, really, just: the team behind the Adam Brody- and Kristen Bell-starring romantic comedy, based on Foster’s own life and marriage, called cut Monday night at midnight, LA time. Eleven hours later, Foster was on Zoom with IndieWire to talk about the success of the first season of the show and to tease as much as humanly possible about what’s going to unspool in the upcoming, and much-anticipated sophomore season.
Right away, Foster has a promise and a vow: it’s going to be more of what people love. And why shouldn’t it be? The show, which hit the streamer last fall, was an instant hit (hitting the number one slot on Netflix’s own lists within its first full week in release and earning glowing critical...

Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, streaming on Netflix, is the most pitch-perfect serialized romcom I’ve seen in years. It is smart, funny, impish, and wise, without making any visible effort to be any of these. The dialogues are unerringly bang-on and unfailingly amusing.
You can’t afford to skip a beat in this one, no Sirreee! Not without wondering why everyone else in the room is laughing. Ah, that is another thing about Nobody Wants This: you have to watch it with those whom you love. There is a sense of community joy in the way the characters address their own problems, without seeming self-centred. They aren’t telling us how to live our lives. But they aren’t ruling out any tips either.
So what is all the fuss about? It all begins when Joanne (Kristen Bell) meets a “hot rabbi” Noah (Adam Brody). Sparks fly, especially...

Week after week, Hacks season 4 continues to deliver everything we want. Whether it's Deborah and Ava hilariously feuding or having hard-fought moments seeing eye-to-eye, the fourth season of the Emmy Award-winning comedy has been a dream. The cameos and guest star appearances have been amazing, too, and the most recent episode finally brought back a favorite character.
In the halfway point of season 4, Hacks called in an iconic but unexpected cameo appearance from Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell. Deborah Vance is a Veronica Mars fan. Who knew? The same episode also welcomed Paradise star Julianne Nicholson as Dance Mom, a viral social media personality who dances with Deborah to "Lifetimes" by Katy Perry.
With all of that momentum, Hacks season 4 went into the back half of the season with the long anticipated return of Kaitlin Olson as Deborah's daughter DJ. I don't know about you, but I have been...

Peacock is ready to reclaim the former glory of one of the best comedies of the past decade. After the conclusion of Parks and Recreation in 2015, creator Mike Schur and Amy Poehler are reuniting for a new project. Variety publicized that the new series has been titled Dig and is an adaptation of the Kate Myers book, Excavations. The synopsis for the comedy is as follows:
“Four women working at an archeological dig in Greece are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.”
In addition to starring in the project, Poehler has also been reported as co-writing the first episode with Schur. Though this is the first time that the two will reunite on a project, it isn’t Schur’s first project since the celebrated finale of Parks and Rec.

As Hacks welcomed a late-night star in last week’s episode, the show facilitated a tense host-on-host exchange.
Co-creator Paul W. Downs noted it was guest star Jimmy Kimmel who thought up some of his own jokes in the episode, which saw him confront Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) on the CBS lot for stealing his guest booking, aiming some jabs at James Corden and Conan O’Brien.
“He came up with, ‘I got full custody of Kristen Bell after Conan died,'” Downs told USA Today, also crediting Kimmel for the crude nod at Jimmy Fallon. “We would never.”
Meanwhile, Smart praised her scene partner for stepping out of his comfort zone. “My hat is off to him, because he kept saying, ‘I’m not an actor, you guys. Don’t expect much,'” she said. “He was kind of nervous, and then he was just a riot.”

This article contains spoilers for The Four Seasons.
The chances of The Four Seasons season 2 being renewed earn a hopeful response from two of the show's creative team. Co-created by the trio of Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, and drawing inspiration from the 1981 movie of the same name, the eight-episode Netflix comedy recently premiered. It follows six friends who go on a relaxing trip together, only to learn that one couple intends to end their relationship. With a Four Seasons cast that includes Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, Steve Carell, Erika Henningsen, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Fey, the series has received generally positive reviews.
In an interview with TV Insider, Wigfield and Fey addressed whether The Four Seasons could return for season 2. Wigfield referenced events in the finale for her response, noting that the Netflix comedy would follow many of the same characters if it received a renewal.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Hacks Season 4, Episode 5, “Clickable Face.”] In Hacks‘ latest episode, “Clickable Face,” Deborah (Jean Smart) stressed over making her new late-night show a hit for the network, but in doing so, she risked sacrificing the quality of her programming, at least in head writer Ava’s (Hannah Einbinder) eyes. That didn’t stop Deborah from attempting to appeal to demographics that she was falling short in, particularly when it came to suburban moms. In an effort to sway them towards her show, she poached Kristen Bell as a guest, angering fellow late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel in the process. “We always want to lend some validity and realism to our show and so for us to be able to say, well, if it’s an episode or a season about making late night in Los Angeles, then you would have these people like Kristen Bell as being somebody [Deborah would] want to get...

Netflix will submit six actors at the Emmys for Nobody Wants This, Gold Derby has learned.

Both "loser siblings" will be submitted in supporting. Timothy Simons, who plays Noah's brother Sasha, is the lone comedy supporting actor entrant. Justine Lupe, who plays Joanne's sister and podcast co-host Morgan, will submit in comedy supporting actress, alongside Jackie Tohn, who plays Esther, Sasha's wife. Tohn was recurring in Season 1 and will be a series regular in Season 2.

Kristen Bell has always switched lanes without ever losing the wheel. She’s played the razor-sharp Veronica Mars and is also the voice of the adorable Anna in Frozen. Now that she’s tinkered around with almost every kind of role, the actress has come around to play a version of herself in Hacks.
Speaking of Hacks, the entire show, and season 4 in particular, has been so unexpected and brilliant. Bell has joined the show’s sharp lineup to poke fun at Hollywood’s many obsessions with a satirical twist. So in a season that was already packed with such great moments, her arrival felt like a cherry on top.

Warning: The following story contains spoilers about the fifth episode of Hacks Season 4, "Clickable Face."
Don't worry, Conan O'Brien is alive and kicking (or doing the string dance) in the Hacks universe.
In Thursday's episode, "Clickable Face," Jimmy Kimmel, playing a version of himself, confronts Deborah (Jean Smart) after the latter poaches Kristen Bell to be a guest on her talk show in an effort to attract women 25-45, her weakest demographic. An enraged Kimmel tells Deborah that Bell, who is promoting the live-action Tinker Bell movie, always does his show when she's on a press tour because "I got full custody when Conan died."
But fret not. "Conan's not dead," co-creator and co-showrunner Lucia Aniello assures Gold Derby.
"We need to get this out there," co-creator and co-showrunner Jen Statsky adds. "What Jimmy Kimmel means when he says that is that you're as good as dead if you don't have a late-night show.

Idina Menzel shared on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show Monday that despite receiving royalty payments for her voice work in Disney’s beloved, now-iconic animated franchise “Frozen,” she thinks she and co-star Kristen Bell deserve one more thing.

Costume designer Negar Ali-Kline knew not only that she wanted to work on Nobody Wants This — she downright needed to. “I immediately felt that I had to do this. It really resonated with me. I grew up in LA, I felt like the world was very familiar to me,” she says of the Erin Foster–created comedy, an unconventional romance that sees agnostic podcast host Joanne (Kristen Bell) fall for laid-back rabbi Noah (Adam Brody). What immediately leaped off the page was the outspoken heroine at the series’ center. “One of the things [Foster] said about Joanne was she’s not the girl that wakes up with mascara running down her face,” says Ali-Kline. “She’s very intentional in the way that she presents herself, she has very high emotional intelligence in the way that she interacts with her environments, and she can use her style, as we all do,...

Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp chatbots designed as “digital companions” have frequently engaged in sexually explicit talk, including with minors, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The AI-powered chatbots are seen by Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg as the future of social media, but the Journal found the top exec made a fateful decision by ordering restrictions to be loosened. The investigation, published over the weekend, said Zuckerberg had been frustrated by “missing” the potential of Snapchat and TikTok, so he decided to be proactively aggressive in promoting the chatbots. It’s been five years since The Good Place waved goodbye, and honestly, we’re still not over it. Mike Schur has given people some of the most iconic comfort shows ever: The Office, Parks and Rec, The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and honestly, the list just keeps going. So naturally, fans have always wondered, with so many amazing characters under one umbrella, was there ever an idea of crossing them over?

Kristen Bell remembers the moment she had an inkling that Nobody Wants This might hit different. Screeners of the Netflix rom-com series had been sent out to press over the summer prior to its Sept. 26 launch.
"I started getting calls like, 'We've never seen a response this rabid from critics before,'" Bell tells Gold Derby. "So that immediately changed what our press tour looked like. They were like, 'Well, you're gonna do quite a bit more press than you thought you were going to do. So please block off the entire month of August and the entire month of September to get out in front of the show because we think it could be a real hit.'"
And it was. The series became an immediate sensation its first weekend and was quickly renewed for a second season. For Bell, a veteran of beloved but little-watched shows like Veronica Mars and The Good Place,...

When The Good Place aired its series finale on January 30, 2020, it wasn’t just the characters who walked through the final door—the show itself left a space in our TV landscape that remains unfilled five years later. Remember how we all collectively gasped at that season one finale? Or sobbed during those final episodes? Yeah, me too.
The smart, heartfelt comedy about ethics, philosophy, and what it means to be human gave us four perfect seasons without overstaying its welcome. It managed to be hilarious while tackling some of life’s biggest questions, and honestly, what other show has done that so well? None, that’s what.
As we mark five years since Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, Jason, Michael, and Janet said their final goodbyes, let’s dive into the ten things we miss most about this utterly unique series. Fair warning: you might need to grab some tissues… or a frozen yogurt.

Every year, it seems like the same old comedies get nominated for Emmys. It’s not that the shows aren’t good — Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks and Only Murders in the Building deserve their flowers. It’s just that hearing the same list of nominees year after year gets a little boring.
Here’s the good news: A handful of new upstarts have a chance to break through this year and give the old standbys a rest. Below are five new sitcoms that could earn nominations as Emmy voters sharpen their pencils for the first round of voting.

Seth Rogen’s Hollywood satire is likely to score with voters because, hey, it’s a comedy about us! The leads are great, the writing is sharp and the A-list cameos are a feat unto themselves. Plus, The Studio sticks it to the voters’ bosses and who wouldn’t want to reward that?...

Michael Schur’s The Good Place delivers its biggest plot twist in the Season 1 finale when Eleanor, played by Kristen Bell, realizes the truth. Given the magnitude of the revelation, it’s reasonable to assume that this twist would have been a huge selling point when Schur pitched the series to NBC.
However, that wasn’t the case. The series creator later revealed that he chose to keep the twist a secret and still managed to get the show approved by the network.

Michael Schur’s breakout hit The Good Place charmed people for four seasons before being concluded in 2020. With crazy plots and crazier characters, the sitcom touched fans’ hearts by dealing with many sensitive themes wrapped in humor.
This also gave Schur the opportunity to explore new horizons when it came to themes like grief, adventure, heaven, and, of course, the deeply flawed human morality and its consequences.
Obviously, with all the elements that came into play in Michael Schur’s series, it also helped him shoot some completely unprecedented sequences in The Good Place. Interestingly, though, even after all of that, there was one scene the show creator couldn’t film. Unfortunately, it became his biggest regret in the series.

Exclusive: Kai Parham (Colin in Black and White) and Michael Ealy have joined the cast of Prime Video’s The Greatest, a limited series about the life of Muhammad Ali (Jaalen Best), from executive producer Michael B. Jordan and executive producer/showrunner Ben Watkins.
The series will feature the defining moments in Ali’s life and career — both in and out of the ring — that have been well documented and moments that took place outside the spotlight. The world remembers an icon, but The Greatest is about a man, a husband, a father, a brother, and a son.
In a series regular role, Parham will play Rudy Clay, Ali’s younger brother. In a recurring role, Ealy will (finally) play Malcolm X.
Throughout his career, Ealy’s name has been mentioned repeatedly as the actor fans would most like to see portray Malcolm X.
