Sin and Damnation – How Scott Derrickson’s Underrated ‘Hellraiser: Inferno’ Rises Above Expectations
Image
At the recent Silver Scream Con, I was surprised to hear Hellraiser star Doug Bradley remark, “The only one in the series I feel doesn’t work is Inferno, for various reasons.” I had always considered the 2000 effort one of the franchise’s stronger offerings, but it had been a while since I revisited the series, so I thought it may not hold up as well as I remembered.

As I’m working my way through the series ahead of David Bruckner‘s reboot, which drops October 7 on Hulu, I can confirm my support for the fifth installment. I have no doubt that Bradley has his reasons for disliking the film – it being the first installment to be released straight to video no doubt required adjustments, not to mention his minuscule screen time as Pinhead – but, even with its shortcomings, I think Hellraiser: Inferno is better than he gives it credit for.

‘The Hangover Part III’ Blu-ray Review
Stars: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, John Goodman, Melissa McCarthy, Jeffrey Tambor, Heather Graham, Mike Epps, Sasha Barrese, Jamie Chung | Written by Todd Phillips, Craig Mazin | Directed by Todd Phillips

The Hangover Part III bills itself as the ‘epic finale to the Hangover trilogy’, which is pretty bold stuff for what is ostensibly a fairly knock-about, not that funny comedy series. Yeah that’s right, I said not that funny. I saw the first and didn’t really laugh, I skipped the second because I heard it was awful and wasn’t invited to watch it for free and I didn’t really laugh at this third outing. That’s not to say I didn’t find the film fairly watchable and inoffensive – it provided a similar level enjoyment to finding that the cup of tea you forgot about hasn’t gotten as quite cold as you expected it to.

Hellraiser: Inferno (2000) Review
Reviewed by Chris Wright, MoreHorror.com

Directed By: Scott Derrickson

Written By: Scott Derrickson & Paul Harris Boardman

Starring: Doug Bradley (Pinhead), Craig Sheffer Joseph Thorne), Nicholas Turturro (Det. Tony Nenonen), James Remar (Dr. Paul Gregory), Nicholas Sadler (Bernie), Noelle Evans (Melanie Thorne), Lindsay Taylor (Chloe), Matt George (Mr. Parmagi), Michael Wiles, Sasha Barrese (Daphne Sharp), Kathyrn Joosten (Mother), Jessica Elliot (Young Joseph’s Mother), Carmen Argenziano (Captain), J.B. Gaynor (Young Joseph)

If you listen to some fans of the series, every movie after the fourth film is not worth watching. With that viewpoint being told so often, I went into this movie with lower expectations. I thought my expectations couldn’t get much lower with “Hellraiser: Bloodline” which was a bit of a mess that even the director removed his name from it. I was pleasantly surprised at how much of an improvement this was! I am aware the term...

New Hangover 3 Movie Delivered Great Comedy,Action,Twists & More
New Hangover 3 movie delivered great comedy, action, twists & more. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new action/comedy flick, "The Hangover 3" into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was way better than I originally thought it would be. They managed to create a great plotline, where there seemed to be no plotline. I mean, it was so creative, and contained lots of action ,comedy, and suspense at times. I was thoroughly pleased with it. It stars: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, Justin Bartha, John Goodman, Sasha Barrese, Gillian Vigman, and Jamie Chung. In the new flick, crazy Alan (Zach Galifianakis) ends up killing a huge giraffe by accidentally decapitating it when driving under an overpass that was way too short. From there, Phil, Doug, and Stu stage an intervention for Alan to check him into a rehab facility in...

Title: The Hangover Part III Directed By: Todd Phillips Starring: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, Justin Bartha, John Goodman, Sasha Barrese, Gillian Vigman, Jamie Chung Who hasn’t woken up with a hangover and said you’re never drinking again only to hit the bar a few days later? That’s fine for us, but Todd Phillips better keep his word. “The Hangover Part III” absolutely must be the end. The Wolf Pack is back together again, but not for more wedding shenanigans, rather a funeral and a trip to a rehab facility. After Alan (Zach Galifianakis) literally gives his father (Jeffrey Tambor) a fatal heart [ Read More ]

4 New TV Spots for The Hangover Part III – ‘Is That Sarcasm?’
The Wolfpack are making their final outing on the big screen this weekend in The Hangover Part III, bringing to an end one of the most successful comedy franchises of all time.

Todd Phillips is back behind the camera for the comedy sequel, and with the film heading into theatres on both sides of the Atlantic yesterday, Warner Bros. have released four great new TV spots to encourage you into a cinema seat this weekend.

The Hangover Part III is the third and final film in director Todd Phillips’ record-shattering comedy franchise. This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis are of course back as the leading trio once more. And they’re joined by a brilliant ensemble, led by Ken Jeong, John Goodman, Justin Bartha,...

Hangover Franchise in Desperate Need of Rehab: Movie Review
The Hangover Part III review: ‘Unnecessary sequel’ that’s ‘sporadically and barely’ amusing (photo: Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms in The Hangover Part III) There was a time, and this time now seems very long ago, when The Hangover was a near-cultural phenomenon. It became (for a while) the highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever, it made Bradley Cooper a star, and it proved the movie industry could find a place for oddball comic Zach Galifianakis. That was four years and, as it turns out, two disappointing sequels ago. The hope going into The Hangover Part III was that co-writer and director Todd Phillips would make amends for the universally disliked The Hangover Part II. That dream is neither denied nor fulfilled. Instead, we get another unnecessary sequel that’s amusing in the way that many crass bro-comedies are amusing, which is to say sporadically and barely. As Phil (Bradley Cooper...

New Red-Band Trailer for The Hangover Part III
We’ve got less than a week to go before the Wolfpack returns to our screens for one final outing in The Hangover Part III, and I can’t wait for next Thursday to come around.

This is one I’ve been looking forward to for a while now, largely because Todd Phillips and co. have promised that this final instalment in the franchise will be an all-bets-are-off affair, breaking from the formula set by the first two movies.

Following on nicely from the latest TV spot we’ve seen this week now comes a great new red-band trailer, via JoBlo. It starts off by recapping the first two movies, before moving on to give us another awesome look at what we can expect from the upcoming conclusion.

The Hangover Part III is the third and final film in director Todd Phillips’ record-shattering comedy franchise. This time, there’s no wedding.

Brilliant New TV Spot for The Hangover Part III – ‘It All Ends Tonight’
There’s no doubt that May 2013 is one of the greatest months in recent memory to be a fan of blockbuster fare, and The Hangover Part III is a big part of that, standing tall alongside the likes of Iron Man 3, Fast and Furious 6, Star Trek Into Darkness, and The Great Gatsby.

The Wolfpack is reuniting for one final outing together on the big screen, and if what we’ve seen from the film so far is anything to go by, it could well be their greatest outing yet.

With little more than a week to go before the film hits theatres, Warner Bros. have released a great new TV spot, setting the tone brilliantly for the franchise’s conclusion.

Justin Bartha gets his due in Hangover Part III movie poster
Justin Bartha looks pretty sad in this latest addition from the eagerly-anticipated Warner Bros. Pictures third part in the comedic uber-franchise helmed by Todd Phillips. It took them long enough. Bartha's character, who looks as if he's saying "It's about time" here, has always had very little limelight compared to the main three of Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms. Last, we had a well-armed rooster ready for a cock fight, and pretty much every other main character save Bartha. Also in the cast are Ken Jeong, John Goodman, Heather Graham, Jamie Chung, Jeffrey Tambor, Sasha Barrese and Mike Epps.

First Clip from The Hangover Part III – ‘How Did You Not Know This Was From Chow?’
The Hangover Part III will bring an end to one of the best and most memorable comedy franchises in recent years this month, and I can’t wait for its arrival.

The Wolfpack will return for one final outing in just a matter of weeks, and all that we’ve seen from the film so far suggests it’s going to be a brilliant finale.

The first teaser trailer debuted two months back, without giving much of anything away. That was followed by the full-length trailer last month, which gave us a little more to go on. And after seeing a new TV spot debut last week, Warner Bros. have now released the first clip from the comedy blockbuster.

The Hangover Part III is the third and final film in director Todd Phillips’ record-shattering comedy franchise. This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right?...

Watch the First Clip from 'The Hangover 3' and an Angry Gamecock Poster
