- Helen Atkinson Wood was born on March 14, 1955 in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, England, UK. She is an actress, known for Flushed Away (2006), KYTV (1989) and The Young Ones (1982).
- At 16, fractured her skull in a riding accident, was unconscious three days and took several months to recover fully.
- While in grammar school, she was friends with Ian Curtis (1956-1980), lead singer of the English post-punk band Joy Division; she was head girl at the school attended by Curtis's future wife Deborah.
