This Fight of Monkey D Garp is Like Muhammad Ali Fighting Mike Tyson: One Piece Animator, Vincent Chansard
Image
When One Piece dropped the Garp vs. Kuzan fight, fans completely lost their minds. This wasn’t a typical anime fight, it hit hard. Not just with punches, but with emotions, history, and a lot of ice. But what went down behind the scenes of that legendary battle? Well, animator Vincent Chansard just spilled the tea, and it turns out he got his inspiration from two real-life legends while animating this fight: Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

Yep, you read that right. However, as it turns out, the metaphor kinda fell apart in the actual animation process. So, what did Chansard do instead? He abandoned the boxing concept and transformed it into what he refers to as an ‘acting scene.’ Rather than concentrating on all the flashy steps, he focused heavily on the emotions. And guess what? That shift made all the difference.

Garp vs. Kuzan in One Piece:...

Logan Paul Is Sorry After Disrespecting This WWE Legend
Image
Logan Paul has always been a polarizing figure in WWE. The former United States Champion, known for his long-standing association with controversy, has never shied away from the spotlight. However, his recent actions seem to have crossed a line—even by his notorious standards.

Logan Paul has been involved in heated altercations with several top superstars throughout his WWE tenure. His recent feud with Aj Styles culminated in a high-profile clash at WrestleMania, which ended in his favor. But this time, Paul has reportedly gone too far, allegedly causing deliberate harm to Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Gorilla experts have weighed in on the topic that was supposed to be fun and meaningless, turning the absurdity into something educational.

While many may believe that a gorilla’s unmatched strength would be able to take on a hundred men with little to no effort, the experts’ claims confirm that this couldn’t be more wrong. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Real Reason Why The Undertaker Hated Hulk Hogan After That Disgraceful WWE Fight
Image
The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan are two of the biggest superstars WWE has ever produced, but not many people know they had real-life tension. The Undertaker made his WWE debut in 1990 and quickly became popular because of his dark and mysterious character, which stood out from the colorful and exaggerated wrestlers of that time.

Since he was a huge success, he got a championship opportunity within a year and faced Hulk Hogan in the match. The Undertaker won by using his finishing move, the Tombstone. After the fight, Hogan claimed he was injured by the move, but when the video was reviewed, it showed that his head never actually hit the mat.

If the Power Is Too Much to Handle for Mike Tyson I’m Not Surprised This WWE Veteran Got KOed by Evander Holyfield
Image
Mike Tyson was a brutal boxer in his prime, and nobody could withstand his brutal punches when he was in his zone. However, one fighter could get the better of him, and it was Evander Holyfield. Tyson lost twice to Holyfield, making the boxer’s WWE appearance more impactful.

Holyfield made his WWE appearance in 2007 when he took part in a boxing match. He was brought in as a replacement for Mvp during his feud with Matt Hardy. Mvp was suffering from legitimate cardiac complications, and the surprise appearance of Evander Holyfield to replace him sent shockwaves through the WWE, and the fans were ready to watch the boxer step into the wrestling arena.

Surprisingly, the night ended with Mvp getting knocked out cold by Holyfield. It was no surprise because Holyfield was the person who survived Mike Tyson and could deliver some brutal blows.

Netflix to Host ‘Tudum’ Fan Fest Livestream for the First Time
Image
Netflix is bringing its annual “Tudum” fan event back, and this time it plans to host the programming celebration and preview on its own platform.

The streaming service announced Monday that “Tudum 2025: The Live Event” will take place Saturday, May 31 at 5 p.m. Pst at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. In-person tickets for the event will go on sale Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. Pt, while Netflix’s usual livestream of the event will not be hosted on the service’s YouTube channel like in previous years but on Netflix itself for the first time.

The change coincides with Netflix’s increased interest over the past few years in live-streaming events on its own platform. Its past livestream efforts include Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s well-publicized boxing match last year, as well as the service’s acquisition of WWE’s “Monday Night Raw,” which began streaming weekly...

But that is all in the past. What is happening next? What series might be the new Squid Game? Or when does the new season of Squid Game come out? But what would be even better is if you could meet with other fans of Netflix while also having a chance to see some of your favorite stars, potentially.

“No, we’re saving Hollywood”: Netflix Chief Ted Sarandos Making the Wildest Claim Wasn’t on My 2025 Bingo Card but Here We Are
Image
It is not news that Netflix has been at the forefront of the streaming wars and has been increasingly gravitating towards not just movie and TV content, but also reality TV, live TV, and even, apparently, podcasts. The streaming giant has long been the market leader, but the model it started is largely credited with killing the theatrical business like no other.

However, Netflix chief Ted Sarandos believes the opposite. Well, not exactly, but Sarandos claimed that they were ‘saving Hollywood’ is probably one of the most shocking statements to come out of Netflix’s leadership since that executive who said Oppenheimer would have had the same impact if it were released on the streamer.

Squid Game (2021)
Netflix Expands Southeast Asia Presence With New Zombie Projects and Live Sports Trials
Squid Game (2021)
Netflix is expanding its content and production strategy across Asia, according to remarks by Minyoung Kim, Vice President of Content for the Asia-Pacific region (excluding India), during the company’s Apac showcase in Tokyo. The platform is increasing investment in original programming, adding new countries to its zombie slate, and continuing to test approaches to live sports coverage.

South Korea remains a major focus. Netflix’s 2023 commitment to invest $2.5 billion over four years is still in progress, and Kim confirmed that spending is aligned with or above expectations. Programs including Squid Game have anchored the platform’s position in global markets, with Season 3 of the series scheduled for release on June 27. Filmed in tandem with Season 2, the new episodes continue the story that drew high viewership and sustained global attention.

Alongside original productions, Netflix maintains licensing agreements with Korean broadcasters such as Jtbc and Sbs, as well as conglomerate Cj Enm.

Despite Success Of ‘Squid Game’, Koreans Are Choosing YouTube Over Netflix – Report
Image
Earlier this week we brought news that South Korean content is now second only to the U.S. on Netflix, but it appears Korean audiences are opting for YouTube over the streamer.

According to new research from Digital-i, which examined YouTube viewing for the first time, South Korean people with active YouTube accounts spent a whopping 210 minutes (3 hours 30 minutes) per day watching the platform in the final quarter of last year, which was second only to Japan (214 minutes) in the countries measured.

Koreans who subscribe to Netflix spent less than half that time (96 minutes) watching the streamer, which airs Korean hits like Squid Game, Love Next Door and Queen of Tears.

Digital-i found by far and away the biggest gap between YouTube and Netflix viewing in Japan and South Korea, with other nations much more equal. In the U.S., active Netflix subs watched 117 minutes of Netflix per day in...

Is Netflix the Safe Hollywood Stock Now?
Image
With worries about the impact of a global tariffs war, recession fears and stock market volatility, where should media and entertainment investors put their money in such tumultuous times?

Morgan Stanley analyst Benjamin Swinburne recommends Netflix shares ahead of the streaming giant’s first-quarter earnings report after the stock market close on April 17.

“A more defensive lens to our media & entertainment coverage leaves us incrementally bullish on Netflix,” he wrote in a recent report. “We expect Netflix to demonstrate relative resilience in a weaker global macro. Momentum in its core subscription business combined with recent U.S. dollar weakness should de-risk ’25 estimates – even in a softer ad market.” Reiterating his “overweight” rating on the stock, he designated Netflix his new top pick in the sector, noting that he and his team “view the recent

pullback [in the stock] as a buying opportunity, with over 30 percent upside to our $1,150 price target.”

After its recent pullback,...

Randy Orton’s Tattoos Became a Big Problem For WWE
Image
WWE superstars have rocked some incredible tattoos over the years. Whether it is Roman Reigns’ tribal motif, spanning all the way from his back to his right peck, or The Rock, who has got a massive skull inked onto his right hand, the company does have superstars who have made their skin a living canvas.

In recent times, there has been a rise in the number of inked superstars, and truth be told, the designs simply get crazier. Rhea Ripley’s tattoos have been a driving force in the women’s section, while Damian Priest’s massive back-piece has left the fans stunned. The list would simply go on and on when we talk about inks on WWE superstars.

“I’m going to eat through people”: Mike Tyson Went From Hating Damon Wayans’ Family to Willing to Fight People to Protect Them
Image
Barring the recent dumpster fire against Jake Paul, Mike Tyson has been one of the most skilled boxers in the world and held the record for being the youngest to win a world heavyweight champion title. His stardom and persona made him a pop cultural icon, which means, apart from references in songs, he was heavily parodied too.

Stand-up comic and SNL alum, Damon Wayans Sr., and his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans made several sketches parodying Tyson in In Living Color. The boxing legend was reportedly angry at the comedic duo and had even pulled up to jokingly hurt them, but one meeting with their mother changed his stance.

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions have set a co-main event for their next global live boxing special: Mvp reigning undisputed super featherweight champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner vs. undefeated Wba Interim world champion Jennifer Miranda.

Baumgardner and Miranda will join Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano as the co-main event for the Netflix special, which will stream live globally July 11 from New York’s Madison Square Garden. The special will be the first time in Msg’s history that the entire card is comprised of female boxers.

Watch Shia Labeouf Spar with Star Toby Kebbell in New Film 'Salvable'
Image
Whatever you think about Shia Labeouf, his intensity and commitment is unquestionable, and he's not afraid to be outspoken. Labeouf's interesting career path was diverted among a variety of scandals and allegations, and you could hardly call it a comeback when he returned in 2023 with the film Padre Pio. Which is a shame, because he gives a great performance, and Abel Ferrara always creates fascinating films. It was perhaps just too niche a movie to give the former Transformers star the spotlight again. That likely won't change with his next movie, Salvable, which recently released its first trailer. You can watch the trailer for the film, also starring Toby Kebbell, below:

The synopsis for Salvable reads as follows:

"Shia Labeouf and Toby Kebbell star in an emotional, action-packed film about a prize fighter’s battles both inside and outside the ring. When a battered boxer past his prime finds his...

Remembering the George Foreman Grill, Undisputed Champ of Nineties Fads

My dad loved football, and my mom boxing. I enjoyed neither, preferring a life devoted to X-Men comic books and Little Debbie snack cakes. But she convinced me to watch a match: Buster Douglas’ underdog surprise knockout of undefeated heavyweight champ Mike Tyson in 1990. I was right-hooked.

She was a devout Muhammad Ali fan, the sparkling poet-slash-prizefighter whose dramatic 1974 rope-a-dope comeback against George Foreman in Zaire was a story she told over and over — Ali, the graceful strategist versus Foreman, the cocky powerhouse.

So when Foreman came out of retirement...

3 Boxing Movies That Are as Inspiring as Tyson Fury’s Comeback After Battle With Depression and Alcohol Addiction

When Mike Tyson and Jake Paul announced that the duo would be going face-to-face in one of the most celebrated boxing matches of the year, fans of the 58-year-old legend went crazy. After all, this would be the chance to witness the maestro in action again.

While the result must have been a little anti-climactic (and it is slightly debatable how real the fight was), fans of the former Boxer know really well that this won’t be what defines Tyson. It is his tenacity and the spirit of never giving up that make Tyson the man he is. And they have (and will continue to) inspire people over the years.

Netflix Stock Slides After Analyst Suggests Post-Password Crackdown Subscriber Slowdown
Image
Netflix’s password-sharing crackdown proved to be a major success in getting more people to sign up to its streaming service worldwide.

But now that subscriber growth is set to slow after the benefits of reducing the number of users per subscription has run its course. “It is likely Netflix has a few more quarters of strong subscriber growth driven by its content slate and ad-tier, but we do expect the benefits of the password-sharing crackdown to slow,” Robert Fishman, an analyst with MoffettNathanson Research, wrote in a March 6 report.

That analysis released on Thursday was followed by stock in Netflix falling by $84.56, or 8.5 percent, to close at $906.36 on the day. Any future falloff in subscriber growth will be hard to measure, as Netflix stopped reporting quarterly subscriber numbers at the beginning of 2025 to focus on revenue and profit growth.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the NFL and a record-shattering...

Netflix Sets Next Live Boxing Match With Taylor vs. Serrano
Image
Netflix appears to be continuing its foray into live sports with another boxing event. Last year saw Jake Paul take on yet another non-current-pro when he fought a 58-year-old Mike Tyson in an exhibition match. The live stream was watched by millions, or at least millions attempted to watch it, as streaming issues resulted in multiple viewers losing connection, with some even going so far as to sue Netflix over the poor streaming quality. Netflix isn't letting one bad event stop them as the company has just lined up its second live fight-night. Thankfully, it looks to be much more exciting than Paul vs. Tyson.

Per Deadline, Netflix's next live boxing event will see the true champions of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight card headline their own event. Those who watched last year's event will likely remember Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano duking it out in an absolute...

Netflix Is Open to a Larger NFL Package: ‘Never Say Never’
Image
Netflix may be open to scoring more NFL games. The company’s CFO Spencer Neumann addressed the possibility of expanding its partnership with the league during Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecom Conference.

On Christmas Day of 2024, Netflix aired two NFL games, marking one of the first times the streamer had aired a major sporting event. As part of its current deal, the streamer is set to air at least one holiday game in both 2025 and 2026. Netflix has long maintained that they’re happy with their current strategy around live events, a point that Neumann emphasized on Wednesday. But during a recent interview with “The Town,” Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said she would be interested in Netflix expanding its NFL offerings if, in five years, the league opted out of its current deal. Specifically, Bajaria said she would be interested in securing the rights to the Sunday afternoon football games.
