Now, a Season 2 is on the way. It was previously announced that Mary Steenburgen, Danson's real-life wife, would star in the season alongside him. She's playing Mona Margadoff, a musician who has something to do with the new case Charles is investigating. But there are other people involved in the case too - and now all those people have been cast.

Deadline has all the details. A whopping 11 people were announced as having joined the cast today, and the outlet has character details for all of them.

A24 has boarded Jesse Eisenberg’s next film behind the camera — the untitled musical comedy, starring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti, on which we were first to report in November. Sources said this was a worldwide negative pickup, in the vein of the studio’s deal for Heretic, the horror hit from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.

The film follows a shy woman (Moore) who is unexpectedly cast in a community theater musical production, going to extremes as she loses herself in the role. The series has earned a pilot order from the streamer, our sister site Variety reports, with plans to shoot a pilot this summer “to get a better sense of the show’s tone and of the chemistry among the ensemble cast.” No casting for the sequel series has been announced yet.

The actors are getting all of the spotlight at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards and we’ll be recapping all of the celebs attending the event!

Stars will be stepping out for the annual awards show on Sunday (February 23) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The SAG Awards will stream live on Netflix for the second year in a row. This also marks Kristen Bell‘s second time as host after previously serving as the emcee in 2018. Wicked leads the nominations this year with five nods and Shogun leads the television categories, also with five nominations. Check out the full list of nominees!

While Netflix is constantly adding things to its vast library, the streamer also has to get rid of things too. One can assume that Netflix has many large servers to house all the movies and series that we get to see. But maybe those servers begin to lack room, so some things have to go.

This week is not too bad for having to say goodbye to some items. The 21st is by far the saddest day. Southpaw is a fantastic film starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a boxer who must turn his life around after a tragedy occurs. It is a bit too by note at times, but the acting makes up for any lag in the story.

Book Club also leaves on that day. There is also little doubt as to the acting ability of the cast. The film features Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen.

After going viral for reincarnating the title character from 2003’s Elf — as a beer-drinking and cigarette-smoking brooder, no less — Will Ferrell explained the thought and preparation process behind the stunt.

Those actors scurrying around at the festival in Palm Springs would have been better served witnessing masterclasses in artistry from Viola Davis and Ted Danson, the recipients of Golden Globes honors on Friday night.

Not only that, there was Mary Steenburgen and Meryl Streep, too.

Streep spoke of her first meeting with Davis. It was when the two women met at the table read for the screen version of John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Doubt.

Streep admitted that that she’d been a little out of sorts because playwright Tony Kushner had hailed Davis as his “favorite actor in the whole world.”

But then Streep sat opposite Davis at the read-through, with Amy Adams and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, and saw exactly what Kushner had meant.

The room was overflowing with emotion, gratitude and appreciation Friday night as the Golden Globe Awards’ inaugural Golden Gala paid tribute to two singular and beloved stars, Ted Danson and Viola Davis.

Danson took the audience at the Beverly Hilton through his journey as an actor as he accepted the Carol Burnett Award for his contributions to television over his long career. It all started when he was given the chance to bring the indelible character of Sam Malone to life on the NBC sitcom “Cheers,” which ran 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993. The creators and executive producers of that series, brothers Glen Charles and Les Charles, were in the audience.
