Andor’s Diego Luna’s MCU Fan Casting: Kevin Feige Doesn’t Need Ryan Gosling to Make Ghost Rider Great Again
Image
“Some men just want to watch the world burn,” said Alfred in The Dark Knight. But Ghost Rider? He is the fire. And not every pretty face can wear those chains without singeing the soul beneath. While the Marvel fandom continues its ceremonial chanting for Ryan Gosling to grab that flaming skull, fans find themselves leaning toward a different kind of inferno… quieter, deeper, and far more dangerous: Diego Luna.

Sure, Gosling can wear neon and nostalgia like a second skin (just look at Barbie), but Ghost Rider needs a different sort of fever. One that’s quiet, clawing, and tragic. The MCU doesn’t need another poster boy. It needs a haunted man. Luna, the voice of rebellion in Andor, already walks the line between salvation and damnation.

JoBlo gets in on the action for Ballerina with Len Wiseman and 87eleven
Image
John Wick gave action lovers something to rejoice in, and it all started with the perfectly cast Keanu Reeves. But the incredible stuntwork is one of the things that truly set it apart. You could tell that they had something special. And with the mythology behind Wick continuing to grow, and with Ballerina, I’m happy to say that their latest looks like they are continuing to create movie magic.

Back in March, I was given an assignment. JoBlo was invited to take part in the Ballerina 87eleven Stunt Day. I also chatted with the film’s director, Len Wiseman. While that was a few months back, I remember it like yesterday. When we arrived, the journalists and influencers gathered in groups, ready for action. Before the work began, we witnessed a kick ass scene featuring the lovely Ana de Armas. It involved the heroine taking on a bunch of baddies.

Keanu Reeves Clariifies Involvement With Ballerina, Promises Spinoff Maintains the 'Spirit of John Wick'
Image
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina might not be about the Baba Yaga, but Keanu Reeves enjoyed his time back on set.

"I just had like eight days on it, but it was fun to play the role again, and I'm excited for people to see the film," Reeves said at a screening of the upcoming John Wick documentary Wick is Pain, per THR. While his total screentime remains unknown, Reeves felt the spinoff retained "the spirit of John Wick and has new characters and opens up some stuff, so hopefully people like it," additionally praising lead actor -- and former Knock Knock co-star -- Ana de Armas for her performance as assassin Eva Macarro.

While Ballerina's first trailer saw Eve confront Wick about being like him, the latest trailer revealed that he will play a semi-antagonistic role, having been sent to prevent Eve from destabilizing the peace between crime bosses.

Hideo Kojima Already Has An Idea For Death Stranding 3, But Don't Expect Him To Direct It
Image
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach isn't even out yet and director Hideo Kojima already has an idea for a sequel. The original game was divisive, but we were enamored here at Screen Rant, awarding it Game of the Year in 2019, and the upcoming sequel appears to be building on the idiosyncratic delivery game in practically every way.

[Warning: Minor spoilers for the setting of Death Stranding 2.]

Famed auteur Kojima, however, is already looking ahead, telling Eurogamer, "I already have a concept for another sequel. I am not going to make it myself, but if I passed it on to someone else, they could probably make it." This comes from a discussion about a Death Stranding 2 feature called the Plate Gate, which allows protagonist Sam Porter Bridges (played by Norman Reedus) to travel to different continents. In the upcoming title, Bridges uses the Plate Gate to head to Australia, which "was a good fit" for the game's setting "in terms of size and scale.

The Walking Dead: Norman Reedus Probably Would’ve Said No to Daryl Dixon Spinoff Under One Condition
Image
In 2010, Norman Reedus found himself with some torn rags and some weapons while working on the sets of The Walking Dead. Ever since the first season, Reedus hasn’t looked back on his Hollywood career.

The actor even got a chance to reprise his role after The Walking Dead ended with a spin-off for his own titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (he portrayed the role of Daryl Dixon in the original show). However, Reedus was prepared to say no to the spin-off if his one condition hadn’t been fulfilled.

Norman Reedus didn’t want the same story

Well, the character of Daryl Dixon was specially created for Reedus, and he wasn’t in the original comic books at all. However, Reedus’s audition was simply so iconic that they had to create a character specifically for him.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan on Negan's Walking Dead journey: "I don’t ever picture it ending"
Image
Despite joining The Walking Dead in the most controversial way possible at the end of season 6, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has become a central figure in the franchise. His character, Negan, made his explosive debut by beating both Abraham and Glenn to death with his barbed-wire covered baseball bat, Lucille. He'd go on to wage all-out war against Rick Grimes and our survivors. And now, in Dead City season 2, he's in a leadership position in The Big Apple!

To say Negan keeps falling on his feet would be an understatement. There's been so many opportunities for characters to kill him over the years, but he keeps getting away with it. He must be among the most frequently jailed characters in television history. And yet, in Dead City season 2, the Dama has reunited him with Lucille and thrust him unwittingly back into the spotlight. He's now one of the most important people in Manhattan,...

The Only Original The Walking Dead Characters Still Alive Today
Image
"The Walking Dead" and its assorted spin-offs have presided over the small screen segment of the zombie genre for a very long time. Typically, characters in any project involving the, well, walking dead have the life expectancy of a mayfly, so even more impressive than the franchise's longevity is the fact that a handful of series originals are still hanging on to their post-apocalyptic existence in various corners of the land, keeping their respective shows alive.

Yes, despite the fact that the mortality rate among the show's characters is extremely high for obvious reasons, a precious few have indeed managed to make it to the present with their lives intact. Granted, the paths they've taken are wildly different. Some of them have taken extended periods of leave from the show, while others started out as fairly inconsequential season 1 figures and only rose in prominence later down the line. Still, there's...

'It Will Be Really Different': How John Wick 5 Will Continue the Story Explained by Director
Image
With John Wick 5 officially announced, fans keep speculating how Keanu Reeves' titular hitman will rise from the proverbial ashes after seemingly dying in the last sequel, Chapter 4. Though Wick's saga is "over," according to franchise director Chad Stahelski, movie lovers can expect fresh twists and turns that differentiate the next film from previous installments.

Speaking with Empire, Stahelski explained how John Wick 5 will continue Wick's story after the ending of Chapter 4, which saw him succumb to shot wounds following a faceoff with Caine (Donnie Yen) and his cohorts looking on at his gravesite. Though Chapter 4 chronicled Wick's battle with the High Table, Stahelski claimed John Wick 5's story would move on from that saga and teased that there's more to his anticipated return than meets the eye.

“The saga of John Wick was pretty wrapped up,” he said. “So the only way to do a 5 is to have a new story that involves John Wick.

Ballerina Stills Spotlight Intense Flamethrower Sequence That Shocked Ana de Armas
Image
Ballerina opens in just about a month, and as the marketing campaign ramps up, we've received a handful of new stills from the actioner, featuring Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a young new Ruska Roma assassin that is out for revenge.

Like with any John Wick film, this one will also showcase extensive stunt work and larger than life action set pieces, none bigger than a sequence that will see the film's Academy Award-nominated star wield a flamethrower to take on a horde of baddies.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, de Armas detailed her rehearsal for the flamethrower sequence and how the whole experince absolutely shook her to her core. "I remember the first day the stunt team was practicing with the fire, and they told me to go do it before the shoot, and I said, 'No, no, no, I'll be fine,' and they got the main fire guy that gets burned,...

'1 of My Favorite Characters': Ahead of Her John Wick Spinoff, Ana de Armas Reflects on James Bond Role
Image
Ahead of the release of her John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, actress Ana de Armas is reflecting on another major film franchise she starred in: James Bond. De Armas played the Bond Girl Paloma in 2021's No Time to Die.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Armas opened up about playing Paloma as well as what it was like working with her co-star, Daniel Craig. "It was magical, I had a wonderful experience, it was so much fun," she said. "Paloma is one of my favorite characters from everything I've ever done. She turned out to be really special." She went on to say that she's become an "advocate for Latinas to be in action films."

De Armas rose to fame in 2019 playing the nurse Marta Cabrera in Knives Out, also starring alongside Daniel Craig -- who left the Bond franchise after filming No Time to Die with her. "I loved working with Daniel.

Why The Walking Dead Comics Are In Black And White, Explained
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

There's a lot to compare about "The Walking Dead" TV series and the original comics by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. The show has many completely original storylines and characters, like the fan favorite and now star of his own series, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). Some characters die much earlier in "The Walking Dead" TV show than they did in the comics, while some last longer. But another big difference is a matter of presentation.

"The Walking Dead" aired in full-color, like how you'd expect a 2010 television series to do. The comic, though, was colored in black-and-white. As a nod to this, a black-and-white edition of the series' pilot "Days Gone Bye" was made, and "The Walking Dead" season 6 premiere included some scenes shot in black-and-white.

Black-and-white comics are far from unheard of; in manga like "Blade of the Immortal,...

“I wasn’t expecting it”: The Most Gruesome Moment in The Walking Dead Had a Major Flaw
Image
So, when someone says The Walking Dead, what flashes in your head first? The blood-soaked brawls? The half-rotten walkers groaning through cornfields? Maybe. But it’s also the characters, those we love, those we love to hate, and the ones who break our hearts when they meet an untimely end. And of all the shocking deaths that shook fans to their core, Dale Horvath’s death remains one of the most gruesome and emotionally charged.

It was gut-wrenching to watch Dale, played by Jeffrey DeMunn, get torn apart by a walker. But wait… as intense as it was, something about the scene didn’t quite add up. It left many fans wondering: how could something so shocking feel so flawed at the same time?

Dale’s gruesome death: Fans are not buying it Andrea (Laurie Holden), Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) in The Walking Dead | Credit: AMC...

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock will reunite for an untitled romantic thriller for Amazon MGM Studios
Keanu Reeves
Pop quiz, Hot Shot! Where would a new movie starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock rank in a long list of in-demand Hollywood reunions? Before you answer, remember the duo’s outstanding chemistry in the Jan de Bont-directed action thriller Speed. If that’s not enough, think about their enchanting romantic drama The Lake House. You see what I’m getting at. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock will reunite for an untitled romantic thriller at Amazon MGM Studios.

The project boasts a script by Noah Oppenheim, the writer of the 2016 Jackie Kennedy Onassis biopic Jackie. Plot details remain a mystery. Still, THR says they’ve heard the story is “propulsive.” I admit that’s not a lot to go on, but knowing Reeves and Bullock are attached is enough for me. The untitled project finds Reeves and Bullock re-teaming with Speed producer Mark Gordon,...

Pendulum: Jacki Weaver joins Darren Aronofsky-produced horror film

Darren Aronofsky and Mark Heyman have worked together several times over the years. Heyman was Aronofsky’s assistant when he made The Fountain, then he was the co-producer on The Wrestler, a writer on Black Swan, and an executive producer on Mother! So now that Heyman is set to make his feature directorial debut with the horror film Pendulum, it’s good to see that Aronofsky is there to back him up, producing the film through his company Protozoa. Back in October, we heard that Joseph Gordon-Levitt of The Dark Knight Rises and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F had signed on to star in the film. Phoebe Dynevor of Bridgerton and Fair Play joined in March, and Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead and The Bikeriders was confirmed to be in the cast just a few days ago. Jacki Weaver has been cast in Pendulum from producer Darren Aronofsky, Deadline reports.

Described as a “terrifying new genre film,” Pendulum follows young couple Patrick (Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail (Dynevor) on a journey to a new-age retreat in New Mexico, drawn by the possibility of recovering with the much-revered mystical healer Ella-Rose (Weaver) after going through a traumatic event.
