Today's news has got fans of Amy Heckerling's coming-of-age masterpiece "Clueless" waffling between totally freaking and totally bugging, because according to Variety, the Peacock streaming service is currently developing a sequel series with star Alicia Silverstone set to reprise her role as Cher Horowitz.
If this sounds like old news, it's because you're probably thinking of a different Peacock "Clueless" series that was announced back in 2020 and slated to star Stacey Dash, reviving her role as Cher's ride-or-die bestie Dionne. Well, that series is no longer happening, and this series currently has Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage attached to write, along with Jordan Weiss. The trio will executive produce alongside Silverstone, and they'll be joined by the original film's producer, Robert Lawrence, and writer/director Heckerling as executive producers as well.

The 1995 film, Clueless,is turning 30 this year (which is "totally buggin’"). The movie was turned into a short-lived television series in 1996, starring Rachel Blanchard in the role of Cher Horowitz was made famous by Alicia Silverstone. Clueless ran for three seasons on ABC and Upn, but fans were left wondering if Silverstone would ever reprise her role as the spoiled do-gooder.
The wait is now over. Per Deadline, a Clueless reboot is in the works at Peacock, and Silverstone is attached to star and executive produce the series. Unlike the original Clueless starring Silverstone, the reboot will be a TV series instead of another feature film. Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the original Clueless, is also on board as an executive producer, along with Robert Lawrence, who was a producer on the original film.

Get a clue! Peacock is developing a sequel series based on the ’90s favorite “Clueless,” and Alicia Silverstone is attached to star in the series reprising her role as Cher Horowitz, IndieWire has learned.
The Peacock show is described only as a follow-up sequel show to the 1995 cult favorite film from director and writer Amy Heckerling (who will EP the series), and while there have been some rumors about the exact focus of the show floating around, creative details are being kept under wraps for now. The series is currently in development for the streamer.
Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage of “Gossip Girl” and “Nancy Drew” fame will write the series alongside “Freakier Friday” scribe Jordan Weiss, and all three will executive produce the series. Schwartz and Savage are producing through their banner Fake Empire.
Silverstone is also executive producing the series, as is Heckerling and the film’s original producer Robert Lawrence.

Don’t worry, you’re not buggin. You read the headline right. Decade-defining, genre favorite and cult-classic Clueless is about to receive the makeover of a lifetime courtesy of SteelBook. We love this hit of terrific news, but the downside is that the re-release is happening in celebration of the movie’s 30th anniversary, which will make a lot of folks out there (this writer included) feel very old. But, before you say “ugh, as if” and pack this one away, hiding from your own mortality, this slight downside comes with an upside, as pre-orders are already open, meaning interested parties can totally feast their eyes on the artwork and extras that will fully earn Clueless’ SteelBook 4K Uhd re-release a spot alongside your other favorites.

Every once in a while, a movie makes so much money that it totally shakes up the film industry. This instance is especially true when a genre many considered dead and buried comes along and makes some serious cash. This rarity happened in a big way back in 1999 when American Pie, a movie that cost $11 million, made $235 million worldwide. Think about it – the biggest star in the film was Eugene Levy. More than that – it was a teen sex comedy. That genre played out in the early eighties when Porky’s was such a big hit that every studio decided to make a sex comedy, and pretty much all of them tanked – especially the multiple Porky‘s sequels. Teen sex comedies were replaced by John Hughes’s brand of more thoughtful teen comedies, only for that genre to fall off as well. A year before, Sony made a John Hughes-style teen comedy,...

Last year, I had the good fortune of visiting the set of Blumhouse's upcoming horror movie "The Woman in the Yard." It took place in a college town called Athens, Georgia, about an hour away from Atlanta, give or take. What I expected to encounter during that visit was some behind-the-scenes knowledge of Jaume Collet-Serra's return to the horror genre. What I didn't expect to discover was how Todd Phillips was responsible for a near-total ban on filming at the University of Georgia that lasted more than 20 years.
Phillips is best known as the director of DC's $1 billion smash hit "Joker" from 2019. Before that, he was known best for his work in R-rated comedies like "The Hangover." His first foray into the genre was 2000's "Old School," which served as his feature directorial debut. He'd previously directed a documentary about Phish called "Bittersweet Motel" and an unaired HBO documentary called "Frat House,...

Garfield fans are in for a treat that's almost as good as lasagna. On April 11, the first two live-action Garfield movies will be streaming on Hulu.
In 2004, 20th Century Fox brought Jim Davis' beloved comic strip to the silver screen with Bill Murray portraying the CGI cat. Murray's live-action co-stars included Breckin Meyer as Jon Arbuckle and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Dr. Liz Wilson, with the film's plot chronicling how the overweight and grumpy Garfield's life is thrown upside down when his owner, Jon, adopts a hyperactive young dog named Odie.
Garfield: The Movie ended up being a commercial success for 20th Century Fox, maxing over $200 million worldwide against a budget of $50 million. However, the Bill Murray-led movie based on the popular comic strip didn't do so well with critics or audiences. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, only 14% of critics' responses to the film were positive. Audiences felt similar,...

Star Trek: Section 31 launches soon. On Jan. 24, 2025 to be exact. The film will star Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou, in what may very likely be the last role of her career with Star Trek. Yeoh is more in-demand than ever before and it's very likely that Section 31 brings an end to her Trekking ways. Especially since they made this film off of the back of a canceled television idea that Yeoh was set to star in.
Same premise, just less expensive to make a film than 10-mini films.
This may work out well for Paramount+, as fans have not received the new film with the warmest of expectations. That doesn't mean the film will fail, though. It has some stuff going for it that may cater to more casual fans of Star Trek, or sci-fi as a whole. So with that, here are three reasons we think Section 31 will be a hit.

Fans first met Scheana Shay on the very first season of Vanderpump Rules. A waitress at Lisa Vanderpump's Sur restaurant in West Hollywood, Scheana felt the wrath of her co-workers because of her affair with a married man. That married man just so happened to be actor Eddie Cibrian, the former husband of Rhobh star Brandi Glanville.
Scheana has had quite an interesting relationship history throughout her time on the show, which included a few of her co-workers, and her film producer boyfriend Rob. However, before she found reality TV fame, she was hanging out with some of Hollywood's elite.

Neve Campell and Skeet Ulrich are best known for co-starring in the horror classic Scream. They also starred in The Craft (1996). The witchy cult classic will soon be available to stream on Max.
The Craft will arrive on Max on January 1st. Released the same year as the original Scream, Campbell takes on another iconic role of Bonnie Harper in the teen supernatural film. And while not as large of a role, Ulrich would once again work with Campbell to play the jock Chris Hooker. Directed by Andrew Fleming and made with a $15 million budget, the film was a box office success on its release, opening at number at the North American box office and grossing $55.6 million total. While The Craft has been to an average critical reception with a 6.4/10 on IMDb, the film is beloved by fans for its dark themes and subversion of typical family-friendly Halloween movie tropes.

There may not be many NASCAR movies, but the ones that do exist are a rollicking good time on the racetrack. While racing is a sport the world over, and car racing is just as popular, particularly of late, thanks to Netflix's Drive to Survive, NASCAR is uniquely American. Developed during prohibition because bootleggers had to make their cars fast enough to outrun the cops, NASCAR was born in the backwoods of America, and it still retains that uninhibited, anything-goes edge that draws millions of viewers each year.
Cars and car chases have always been a staple of the movies. They are just a blast to see on screen, screaming through streets and deserts as the drivers try to best, beat, and occasionally, murder, one another. NASCAR movies skip any pretense and offer just what the viewers want, car racing in its purest form. Some NASCAR movies are funny,...

Today came the sad news that Smash Mouth frontman Steve Harwell died at 56. Smash Mouth is undoubtedly best known today for the fact their 1999 hit song "All Star" played at the very beginning of the first "Shrek" movie. It's easy to forget, however, that before "Shrek" debuted at Cannes and went on to win the very first Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, "All Star" was a smash hit way before Shrek. It was considered one of the best songs of 1999 and even got nominated for the Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal Grammy. While "Shrek" immortalized it, it was actually another film from 2001 that gave us the best use of "All Star," and one of the best endings to a movie of the last 20 years.
