Timothée Chalamet wasn’t waiting on a casting call. He hunted for Dune. Long before he became Paul Atreides, he was setting Google alerts and secretly planning how to land a role in Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic. The hustle? Very real.

Back in the early days of Dune’s pre-production, Chalamet clocked Villeneuve’s name and pounced. That was his moment. He wanted in so badly, he told Deadline that he created a Google alert the second he saw the Arrival director attached. “As soon as Denis got involved, I set up a Google alert, and that’s when I got the book,” he said.

Funny thing? He barely knew what Dune was. At that point, his only exposure was a graphic novel version he spotted while shopping for Yu-Gi-Oh! cards at ten years old. But once Villeneuve was locked, Chalamet went full steam ahead.

A school shooting is such a cataclysmic event that any attempt to dramatize the aftermath of one is, by definition, a film to take seriously. That said, there’s a right way to make one of these. “Mass,” the 2021 Sundance drama in which four parents gathered in a church antechamber for a painfully cathartic encounter session (two of them were the parents of a victim; two were the parents of the shooter), was a movie that walked a delicate tightrope. It was compact and graceful, harrowing and illuminating.

“Eric Larue,” directed by the actor Michael Shannon, is built around a similar situation, as it works its way toward a confrontation between the mother of a school shooter and the mothers of the three classmates he killed. But instead of tackling the matter at hand, almost every scene is weighed down by a free-floating and at times annoyingly intrusive indie-film attitude.

Evan Peters has been abroad in recent weeks while working on the upcoming series The Beauty alongside creator Ryan Murphy.

The 38-year-old actor was spotted looking bloody with cuts and bruises while filming a scene on Monday (March 24) in Venice, Italy.

Evan was also joined by co-star Rebecca Hall while riding a water taxi around the canals of Venice for another scene over the weekend.

The Beauty is based on a comic book series and FX has ordered an 11-episode first season. While plot details for the show have not been revealed, Deadline reports the graphic novel is “about an Std that makes those affected beautiful. But the disease, dubbed ‘the Beauty,’ eventually kills its hosts as part of a suspected sinister government plot.”

Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, and Ashton Kutcher will also star in the series.

Plenty of sitcoms jump the shark. Sometimes the cast loses a key character or the writers run out of ideas. But perhaps the most frustrating foil is when a sitcom is solid all the way through only to shit the bed for its final season, tarnishing its legacy for all time.

The two actors left their hotel separately as they boarded water taxis to take them to set of Ryan Murphy‘s upcoming FX series The Beauty on Friday morning (March 21) in Venice, Italy.

The show, which was first announced in September 2024, is based on Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley‘s comic book series of the same name.

Here’s the comic book series’ synopsis from Image Comics: “Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable. The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes at a terrible price.”

While he's not been without his health struggles in recent years, action movie legend Bruce Willis has been making the best of his retirement. A rare new video of the actor has been posted online, revealing Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore dancing together on his 70th birthday.

The video was shared on Instagram by Rumer Willis, 36, one of Bruce and Demi's daughters (alongside 33-year-old Scout and 31-year-old Tallulah). It was recorded and shared in honor of Bruce reaching his milestone 70th birthday, revealing how he was joined by loving family members to celebrate the special occasion. The hit Fox sitcom premiered in August 1998 and ran for eight seasons before ending in May 2006.

The show starred Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Debra Jo Rupp, Kurtwood Smith, Don Stark, and Tommy Chong.

A revival series, titled That ’90s Show, debuted on Netflix in January 2023 and seven of the original stars returned for the first season of the spinoff.
