It’s Time to Revisit Ewan McGregor’s Brilliant Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Pitch
Image
Ewan McGregor is a leading pop culture icon, thanks to his brilliant performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars franchise. The fans were elated when he returned to his iconic role, years after the Prequel Trilogy, in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series was set after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. It followed Ewan McGregor’s surviving Jedi Master, coming out from his hiding to rescue a young Princess Leia, kidnapped by the Galactic Empire. Interestingly, McGregor had a brilliant idea for a second season of the show that never came to fruition.

Andor Star Kyle Soller On Syril Karn's Fate During Episode 8's Devastating Battle - Spoilers
Image
After obsessively hunting Diego Luna's Cassian Andor since the very first episode of Andor, Syril Karn finally got his hands on the Rebel pilot in season 2, episode 8 - but a moment's hesitation ended up costing him everything.

Towards the end of "Who Are You?," Syril learns the truth about the Empire's evil plans for Ghorman, and stumbles through the protestors in a daze before catching sight of Andor just as he's about to assassinate Dedra Meero.

Karn brutally attacks the man he views as his sworn enemy, ultimately managing to gain the upper hand when they are both knocked down by a nearby grenade blast. Syril is about to shoot his nemesis, but Andor's question - "who are you?" - causes him to hesitate, and he is shot dead by revolutionary leader Carro Rylanze.

I Can Not Imagine A$AP Rocky Doing Justice to Billy Dee Williams’ Legacy Like Donald Glover Did in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’
Image
Billy Dee Williams has been in over a hundred movies for the last six decades, yet there is one role that stands out from the rest: Lando Calrissian. The Baron Administrator from the Star Wars franchise quickly became a fan favorite thanks to Billy Dee Williams’ unmatched charm. Thus, when it was announced that Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, would be taking over the character, there was some hesitation in the fandom.

Luckily, when Solo: A Star Wars Story came around, both critics and fans were pleasantly surprised to see Donald Glover absolutely nail the role and do justice to Billy Dee Williams’ legacy. However, did you know, another high-profile celebrity had auditioned for the role – A$AP Rocky. I’m not sure how I feel about this.

Sharing surnames while not being related is a universal phenomenon. However, it also happens that prior generation relations are either forgotten or lost. A look at the family tree or checking DNA helps in tracking such relatives. What is the case with Kathleen Kennedy and JFK? This article answers that very question.

“No one checked Papa Palpatine’s Throne Room”: Daisy Ridley’s Star Wars Trilogy Casually Ignoring a Horrendous Plot Hole is Kathleen Kennedy’s Greatest Shame
Image
Star Wars Day offers fans of the epic space opera franchise a chance to reflect on their favorite movies. It marks the franchise’s anniversary while also serving as a celebration of the galaxy far, far away, which has experienced some low points in the past decade, thanks to the sequel trilogy produced under Kathleen Kennedy.

Ahead of this year’s celebration, the franchise’s fans discussed the sequel trilogy and its many plot holes on social media. However, one plot hole from the Daisy Ridley-led movies stands out, particularly because of how contrived it feels in the overall narrative. Here is the one plot hole that fans are still unhappy about from the Star Wars sequels.

The Star Wars sequels are an anomaly in the space opera franchise, especially given how quickly the entries left fans sour.

What Henry Cavill Did With The Witcher, David Corenswet Can Do the Same Magic in Star Wars Franchise and This Video Is the Proof

After Henry Cavill, the next Superman actor also turns out to be the biggest nerd. We can’t help but celebrate David Corenswet for his love of the world of Star Wars. During the Star Wars day celebration, fans got to watch a video of Corenswet reciting the lines from the climax of Star Wars: The Trench Run, the video game from the universe.

Corenswet’s passionate love for the space universe almost reminds us of Cavill’s love for all things geeky. This nerd knowledge made Cavill a great performer in his role as Netflix’s The Witcher. Fans hope that Corenswet could pull off the same in a Star Wars role if he ever gets cast.

The White House Celebrates Star Wars Day With Image Depicting President Donald Trump As A Sith Lord
Image
Today is May the Fourth, a.k.a. Star Wars Day. Lucasfilm hasn't dropped any big news or reveals, but fans of the iconic sci-fi franchise have been given plenty to talk about thanks to X and Instagram posts from The White House.

The official account decided to mark today's celebrations (via SFFGazette.com) with a post wishing a "Happy May the 4th to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting so hard [to] bring Sith Lords...back into our Galaxy."

The post concluded by comparing the "Radical Left" to the Empire. It was also accompanied by an AI-generated image of President Donald Trump as...a Sith Lord?!

While the shockingly buff Commander in Chief is decked out in what appears to be Jedi gear, he's wielding a red lightsaber.

Many Star Wars fans have been quick to point out that only evildoers in the Galaxy Far, Far Away use a red blade,...

‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ Star Dee Wallace Says She ‘Argued’ With Steven Spielberg Over an Axed ‘Love Affair’ Between E.T. and Elliot’s Mother: ‘This Was a Family Film’
Image
If Dee Wallace didn’t stand up to Steven Spielberg, E.T. could’ve wanted to do more than just go home.

In a recent appearance on the “Still Here Hollywood” podcast, Wallace, who played Elliot’s mother Mary in the immortal 1982 classic, said there was an axed side plot in the film for a romance between her character and the titular alien.

“There’s a whole B story in ‘E.T.’ about E.T. having a love affair with Mary, a love crush on Mary,” she said. “And there’s little bits of it left in there.”

She continued, “There was a scene where he came in to put Reese’s Pieces down on my bedside table as I’m asleep. Well, Spielberg wanted the sheet a little lower than I was comfortable with.”

Wallce explained that she took her grievances up with Spielberg directly, arguing to maintain the family-friendly tone of the film.

'This Was a Family Film': E.T. Star Recalls Pushing Back on 1 Steven Spielberg Request (& How They Compromised)
Image
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial has long been one of movie history's most celebrated sci-fi films, widely considered to be among the very best from director Steven Spielberg. 43 years after the film's release, star Dee Wallace reflected on the iconic movie, recalling how she pushed back to make one of her scenes a tad less racy.

Wallace was one of the stars of E.T. with her role as Marty Taylor, a divorced single mother of three children whose son, Elliott (Henry Thomas), befriends the titular space alien. In a conversation with Steve Kmetko for the Still Here Hollywood podcast (per EW), Wallace shared how a subplot about E.T. having a "crush" on Mary would have been more heavily played up in the original version of the film, though "little bits of it" made it to the final cut. She went on to describe how one moment planned would have shown...

How An Unmade Indiana Jones TV Show Used Star Wars To Keep Its Secrets
Image
It has been 13 years since The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm. Given the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is the discourse surrounding the "Star Wars" franchise these days, it's easy to forget that Lucasfilm is home to other properties beyond George Lucas' iconic galaxy far, far away. In particular, the "Indiana Jones" franchise, which Lucas co-created with Philip Kaufman before Steven Spielberg came aboard as the films' primary director, is also under the Disney umbrella.

Much like "Star Wars," the "Indiana Jones" property has expanded beyond its original trilogy of films with a television series, polarizing sequels, video games, and attractions at Disney Parks. However, an "Indiana Jones" series has yet to be developed for Disney+, a streaming service that has been dominated by "Star Wars" media since its launch in late 2019. Funny enough, though, it appears a streaming show about the most-beloved archaeologist in cinematic history was,...

Bedroom Scene Forced 'E.T.' Star Dee Wallace to Ask Steven Spielberg for a Script Change
Image
Dee Wallace is one of the icons from the 1980s who shot to stardom by starring in cult horror movies like The Hills Have Eyes and The Howling. However, it was her role in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi classic E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial that gave her the opportunity to prove she wasn't just a horror actor. She became Mary, Elliot's mom, a lonely woman who helps her children survive a broken home but also helps the alien creature return home in the film's final act. But as innocent and family-friendly as the movie is, it turns out that the original plans included an unexpected take on E.T. and Mary's relationship. Luckily, Wallace was there to stop Spielberg's original vision.

Dee Wallace appeared on the Still Here Hollywood podcast, where she spoke about her most important roles. Wallace, 76, is now a Hollywood legend with hundreds of film and TV appearances to her name.

Rian Johnson Is Not Making a 'Knives Out' or 'Star Wars' Movie Next
Image
Fans of Rian Johnson have been patiently waiting to see if his planned return to the Star Wars universe will ever happen, and, likewise, lovers of his Knives Out movies have been wondering what the next adventure for Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc will be beyond Wake Up, Dead Man. However, the director’s new update on his future plans has suggested that neither of these popular IPs will be getting his attention in the near future as his next film will be something completely different.

Speaking with Collider, Johnson explained that he has an original idea that is not a mystery – something he has become known for between the Knives Out franchise and his TV series Poker Face – but something else that will likely be his next project. Speaking specifically on the possibility of a fourth Knives Out movie, he said:

"As long as Daniel [Craig] still wants to keep...

One E.T. Scene Between an Actress and the Alien Was So Raunchy That Steven Spielberg Had to Be Reminded “This was a family film”
Image
Steven Spielberg’s E.T. went on to become an immediate success in theaters in 1982 and became the highest-grossing film of all time. The crowded theaters were definitely a result of the appeal the film had among the family audiences. However, Spielberg almost included a raunchy scene in the film that would’ve been inappropriate for a family audience.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial actress Dee Wallace recently opened up about the filming experience, where she was asked to film a rather sexy scene. Wallace shared her concern that it wouldn’t be right for a children’s film, and she was luckily backed by the film’s producers. Spielberg eventually compromised on the scene, which was a good move if you look back at its success.

Dee Wallace didn’t agree with Steven Spielberg to film a raunchy scene in E.T. Dee Wallace as Mary Taylor in E.T.

Andor Star Benjamin Bratt On Replacing Jimmy Smits As Senator Bail Organa In Season 2 Of Star Wars Series
Image
Andor season 2 is playing out during the four years leading up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and A New Hope. Being set at that point in the Galaxy's history opens the door to legacy characters from the franchise making an appearance.

While the Disney+ series doesn't feature any Jedi or Sith, Senator Bail Organa returned in this week's sixth episode. However, Revenge of the Sith and Obi-Wan Kenobi star Jimmy Smits had been replaced by Benjamin Bratt due to supposed scheduling issues.

Talking to StarWars.com (via SFFGazette.com) about taking over the role of Princess Leia's father, Bratt said, "I’ve always known Jimmy to be an incredibly talented actor. He possesses elegance, a natural grace, a goodness really, an earnestness that this particular character requires."

Now, he's excited to take a deeper dive into how Organa went from being a Senator to one...

The Honest Answer to Why ‘Andor’ Recast Senator Bail Organa and How It Impacts Star Wars in the Future
Image
The second season of Andor is no stranger to controversy (and neither is the Star Wars franchise). But this week’s outrage from the fans is not about retconning canonized storylines or introducing s*xual assault in their beloved fictional franchise. This week’s outrage by fans is against a recast.

Senator Bail Organa is one of the most important members of the Rebellion, along with Mon Mothma, and he is also Princess Leia’s adoptive father. Actor Jimmy Smits has been playing the role since Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. However, in the sixth episode of Andor, another actor played the iconic role, which angered fans.

Does Disney really need this Star Wars Meet and Greet?
Image
Andor is one of the best Star Wars shows ever, and it showcases how one big character is being wasted at Disney parks!

Star Wars fans are, to put it lightly, a divisive lot who can often be quite judgemental of the franchise. That’s only increased since Disney purchased it, with new fans coming on board, but as many older fans decry the state of the later movies and TV shows. That’s not counting the slams on Kathleen Kennedy’s leadership.

So it says a lot that almost all fans can agree Andor is the best thing Disney has done with Star Wars. The series begins five years before the events of Rogue One and focuses on how Andor (Diego Luna) rises up from outcast to Rebel spy.

The show is stunning in showcasing the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance which is an “alliance” in name only with scores of agendas abounding.

Andor Season 2 Just Recast a Major Star Wars Character (& Here's Why)
Image
The following contains minor spoilers from Andor Season 2, Episode 6, "What a Festive Evening," now streaming on Disney+.

Another beloved character in the Star Wars galaxy has just been recast. In the sixth episode of Andor Season 2, Bail Organa made a quick appearance; however, it wasn't long-time portrayer Jimmy Smits in the role of the rebellion hero, but Benjamin Bratt.

In "What a Festive Evening," as Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) and her husband Perrin (Alastair Mackenzie) are on their way to a party, they are greeted by Bail Organa, who is on his way out. The episode marked the first appearance of Bratt in the role of the familiar character, whose casting came as a result of Smits being unavailable during production on Andor Season 2. "We couldn't work it out," showrunner Tony Gilroy told Entertainment Weekly. "The scheduling didn’t work out. We really tried hard, but he wasn't available and couldn't make it.

Diego Luna Tells Us Why ‘Something Has to Be on the Line’ in ‘Andor’ Season 2
Image
When it comes to acts of rebellion, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) finds himself preaching the value of patience — and Diego Luna agrees with him. The “Star Wars” star and executive producer of “Andor” has found that a storytelling route through the year-long time-jumps of Season 2 and one the show’s great strengths is how it spends its time on a few key places each arc and develops rich, distinctive cultures, especially ones that the Galactic Empire is probably going to destroy.

Season 1 really delves into the brick and mortar of Cassian’s second home on Ferrix, and some of the depth of that place might reasonably be tied to the fact that a bunch of characters we care about live there.

The second arc of Season 2 finds Cassian, Bix (Adria Arjona), and Wilmon (Muhannad Bhaier) each in very different circumstances, and each very isolated for most of it. But Luna...

Andor Showrunner Tony Gilroy Reveals Why Season 2 Had To Recast Returning Star Wars Character [Spoiler]
Image
In the sixth episode of Andor, "What a Festive Evening," Mon Mothma and her husband, Perrin, bump into a familiar character who now has a new face: Senator Bail Organa.

Bail was played by Jimmy Smits in the Star Wars prequels, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, and later returned in Disney-era projects Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, in Andor season 2, Benjamin Bratt (Doctor Strange) takes over as Princess Leia's father.

Entertainment Weekly (via SFFGazette.com) caught up with showrunner Tony Gilroy to discuss his decision to recast the role, and, as expected, it came down to a simple case of logistics.

"We couldn't work it out," he confirmed. "The scheduling didn’t work out. We really tried hard, but he wasn't available and couldn't make it. Bringing back legacy characters is really complicated. It's very expensive. It's very, who's working when.

The Real Reason Benjamin Bratt Replaced Jimmy Smits As Bail Organa For Andor Season 2
Image
"Andor" season 2 is one of the "Star Wars" franchise's boldest outings yet, but some fans of the galaxy far, far away might be confused by one of its casting decisions. The second installment of "Andor" features Benjamin Bratt as Senator Bail Organa, a character who was famously played by Jimmy Smits in "Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones" and its sequel, "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" (whose re-release is doing numbers at the box office), among other "Star Wars" projects. Given that Smits is still an active performer, he could've, theoretically, reprise the role of Organa in "Andor" season 2; unfortunately, the stars didn't align for him this time around.

While discussing the latest season of "Andor" with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Tony Gilroy opened up about the decision to recast the role of Organa, explaining that it wasn't for a lack of trying. In...

Ian McDiarmid's Palpatine voice impressed Steven Spielberg: "You're evil!"
Image
As Star Wars: Episode III-- Revenge of the Sith celebrates its 20th anniversary, there has been a lot of reflection over the past decades on the film. One person who discussed his career as Emperor Palpatine was the beloved Ian McDiarmid, who sat down recently in an interview with Variety. While they talked about Episode III, McDiarmid shared a humorous story about how he impressed one of Hollywood's greatest directors.

McDiarmid and the interviewer, Todd Gilchrist, discussed the recent passing of Clive Revill, who was the original voice of the Emperor in Return of the Jedi. McDiarmid shared his appreciation for Revill, calling him, "a very fine actor," and saying that the two of them had met a few times.

McDiarmid figured that Revill would just dub over his part. George Lucas liked what McDiarmid did and kept his vocal work. Though he also felt bad for taking the vocal role from Revill.

Palpatine Actor Reveals Steven Spielberg's Perfect First Reaction to His Star Wars Performance

None other than Steven Spielberg gave Ian McDiarmid his seal of approval for making Star Wars' Emperor feel genuinely evil.

Speaking with Variety ahead of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith's twentieth anniversary, McDiarmid reflected on his legacy playing Emperor Palpatine and having the opportunity to expand upon his Return of the Jedi role in the prequel trilogy. On replacing the late Clive Revill as Palpatine's voice, he said, "I thought if Clive knew what that creature had become or what he looked like, he would be doing something along the lines of what I was doing. So I continued to do my little voice like that; George didn't say stop, and neither did Richard." While recording the Adr for his performance, McDiarmid happened to meet director Steven Spielberg and future Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy -- then co-founder of Spielberg's production company Amblin Entertainment -- recalling,...

‘Rogue One’ Success Gave ‘Andor’ the Freedom to Humiliate Fan-Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Character Without Even Putting Him Onscreen

For months, fans had been speculating about Darth Vader’s possible appearance in Andor Season 2, and series creator Tony Gilroy just confirmed our greatest fear. After what happened in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, it was only natural to expect his cameo in the show.

We know that the latest installment bridges the gap between the show and the movie, but according to Gilroy, the character was a piece of work. Indeed, his inclusion in the story would only complicate the plot; moreover, the presence of the famed villain might overshadow the main characters.

Andor showrunner never wanted a Darth Vader cameo

Andor Season 2 is finally here, and it is already receiving praise from fans and critics. However, there’s a highly anticipated character that never made it to the show. Tony Gilroy revealed in his interview with Rolling Stone that it was not his plan to introduce Darth Vader.

“The Force Is The Fans”: What Star Wars Celebration Japan Taught Us About That Galaxy Far, Far Away
Image
A week ago today, Ryan Gosling took to the Live Stage at Star Wars Celebration Japan to share a message with the thousands gathered in the Makuhari Messe Convention Centre. “As I’m here,” said the Canadian actor, fresh off the rockstar-like reveal that he would be leading Shawn Levy’s newly announced Star Wars: Starfighter, “I feel like the Force is the fans. And all we can hope is, ‘May the fans be with us.’” In the moment, it was a quippy turn of phrase to avoid giving anything away about Levy’s secretive new Star War; but by the end of the weekend, it seemed like the perfect summation of the current state of play in our beloved galaxy far, far away.

It would be fair to say that there has been a sense of a disturbance in the Force, both on the part of the fans and Lucasfilm,...

‘Sinners,’ ‘Starfighter,’ and the Night That Drove a Stake Through Hollywood’s Love Affair with Mediocrity

Last Thursday night, moviegoers across this godforsaken land rabidly made their way to the nearest multiplex — or pilgrimaged across state lines to the closest theater capable of projecting 15-Perf IMAX 70mm film — in order to see early screenings of the first original blockbuster from a gifted filmmaker whose fame has been predicated upon his ability to put a strong personal stamp on increasingly generic Hollywood franchises.

At that very same time, halfway around the world, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and chief creative officer Dave Filoni took the stage at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Chiba, Japan to announce that the next chapter of cinema’s most iconic saga would be directed by a filmmaker whose fame has been predicated upon his ability to be friends with Ryan Reynolds.

The movie business has always been held aloft by the tension between genuine pop artistry and mass-produced slop, two separate but hopelessly entwined...

We learned that Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy's mysterious Star Wars movie, which is set to star Ryan Gosling, was officially titled Star Wars: Starfighter during Star Wars Celebration Japan last week, with a release date of May 28, 2027 also announced.

“This is a standalone. It’s not a prequel, not sequel. It’s a new adventure. It’s set in a period of time that we haven’t seen explored yet,” added Levy.

Though no specific story details were disclosed during the presentation, we now have a little more to go on thanks to insider Daniel Richtman,...

Given their popularity and the way season 3 ended, it's not overly surprising that Disney is looking to cash in on The Mandalorian's success by shifting focus from streaming subscribers to box office revenue.

It's also been over six years since The Rise of Skywalker. So, getting Star Wars back into theaters, after Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy essentially turned it into a small screen property, has become a priority for Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Starting with two hugely popular characters is a smart move, but as of now, we don't know what the future holds in store for them both beyond The Mandalorian and Grogu movie coming to theaters next year. For example, is the...

Hayden Christensen Teases Darth Vader Stories After Revenge Of The Sith
Image
Hayden Christensen loves playing Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. He famously played Anakin in the prequel Star Wars trilogy in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. He also reprised the role of Anakin and Darth Vader for season one of Ahsoka in which he appeared as a very realistic force ghost that dueled Ahsoka and showed some flashbacks of the Clone Wars.

After Christensen confirmed his appearance in Ahsoka season two at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, fans were ecstatic for his return. Now, he's spoken with ComicBook to talk about more potential stories for Darth Vader.

“There’s a lot that we could still explore with Vader. I think from where we left off, after Episode III, and everything that he has to reconcile after he’s trapped in this new version of himself, there’s just a lot of very rich stories that we could still tell.

Star Wars: Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy Could Step Down Sooner Than Expected
Image
A few months ago, rumours swirled that Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy was gearing up to step down from her executive role. The news was welcomed by Star Wars fans who have lost faith in Kennedy's vision for the franchise, though she'd later rein in expectations.

To recap, Kennedy joined Lucasfilm as co-chair alongside Star Wars creator George Lucas in 2012 and later took over following his exit when Disney acquired the company for $4 billion.

Initially, Kennedy found great success in the role. Star Wars: The Force Awakens was a box office hit that grossed $2 billion worldwide. Some fans weren't happy with the movie, but it was a critical success and, two years later, The Last Jedi was another win for the studio. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story also grossed over $1 billion in 2016 and received positive reviews despite creative issues behind the scenes.

The trouble started when she fired filmmakers Chris Lord...

One series comes to an end, and another comes on deck. That seems to be the m.o. for Lucasfilm, which is potentially looking for their next adult-driven “Star Wars” series now that Tony Gilroy’s critically-acclaimed “Andor” begins its final season this week. Kathleen Kennedy Addresses the Hard Task of Making 'Star Wars' Movies
Image
Kathleen Kennedy has been at the forefront of Lucasfilm for 13 years, and she has had some huge successes and some devastating failures during that time. The Star Wars franchise has soared to new heights and crashed and burned time and time again thanks to unplanned changes, disjointed storytelling, and some errors of judgment when it comes to what fans actually want to see compared to what creatives think they want to see.

Reflecting on her career at Lucasfilm with ScreenRant during Star Wars Celebration, Kennedy explained how taking over the reins at Lucasfilm was an eye-opening experience for someone who, until that point, had been a filmmaker but not a studio executive. She said:

“I stepped into this never having really been an executive before. I've always been a filmmaker, and I was very intrigued to have a peek behind the curtain. And I've learned a tremendous amount … I've been...

“Absolutely my best work”: Disney Cannot Let Tony Gilroy Go After ‘Andor’ Season 2 When I’m Sure He’s the Real Heir to George Lucas
Image
Look, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it louder, Tony Gilroy is the real heir to George Lucas, and if Disney lets him walk after Andor Season 2, it’ll be the biggest fumble since, well, you know. Gilroy didn’t just elevate Star Wars, he rewired it — no Jedi mind tricks, no space wizard fluff, just sharp, grounded storytelling that hits like a rebellion anthem.

Andor felt like prestige sci-fi, not a toy commercial with lasers. And if this really is his last dance in the galaxy far, far away? Then Disney better beg, bribe, or build a Death Star to keep him. We need him.

Andor Season 2's Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed As First Reviews Arrive For Latest Star Wars TV Series
Image
As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, the reviews are in for Andor season 2, and they're just as positive as those for the show's first season.

There are a few familiar complaints, mostly about the pacing and the fact that we know how Cassian Andor's story ends, but nothing which is really cause for concern. In fact, the general consensus is that Lucasfilm has delivered another masterpiece.

As you'll see below, the majority of critics agree that the series ranks as the best Star Wars content produced by the studio during its Disney-owned era.

A Rotten Tomatoes score has also been generated; as we write this, Andor season 2 has a 98% rating based on 42 reviews and has already been given "Certified Fresh" status. Season 1 has 96%, meaning the show remains the best-reviewed Star Wars TV show.

"In its second season, Andor shows us what a good story can accomplish — its capacity to dull empathy or amplify it,...

The Mandalorian & Grogu's Jon Favreau Explains Why Jeremy Allen White's Rotta the Hutt Looks So Different From Jabba
Image
The Mandalorian & Grogu director Jon Favreau has explained why Jeremy Allen White's Rotta the Hutt looks different from his more illustrious Star Wars counterpart, Jabba. White's character, who first appeared in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars as Rotta the Huttlet, is the spawn of the infamous intergalactic crime lord.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Favreau discussed the evolution of the Hutts through the Star Wars Extended Universe and how they landed on Rotta's more muscle-bound design. "I think it was important for us to have an image because everybody...We definitely draw inspiration from Extended Universe, and the Hutts are just an interesting group," he began. "And they were explored slightly in the, you know, through Jabba and what we saw when we were growing up. But then, with Filoni and animation, they really delved into it. And then, of course, all the accompanying materials, like the comics,...

However, the most exciting revelations regarding Ahsoka season two come in the form of story details from Dave Filoni. It sounds like this season will feature even more action than the first season. Filoni said the first half of the season will feature an “all out” war.

Why Shawn Levy Is the Right Person to Direct a 'Star Wars' Movie
Image
Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy has opened up about the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter, the movie being worked on by Stranger Things director Shawn Levy that will star Ryan Gosling and arrive in cinemas in 2027. During this year’s Star Wars Celebration, Kennedy shared some insight into why Levy was the right person to make a Star Wars movie in this new era of the near-50-year-old franchise.

As far as many fans are concerned, the Star Wars franchise has mostly been failing for years if not decades. There are some that even believe everything other than the original sacred trilogy should be wiped from existence. However, for Kennedy, the future now has several big risky projects in the pipeline to bring about a new vision of what Star Wars could be. One of the first parts of that vision is Levy’s movie, and the Lucasfilm president believes that the...

Image
The Star Wars Celebration event in Japan may have concluded, but exciting news concerning that infamous galaxy far, far away continues to trickle in.

Screen Rant had the opportunity to speak with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy at the event, and she offered a promising update on the long-awaited Star Wars film being helmed by the award-winning Taika Waititi.

While fans eagerly anticipate Waititi's unique vision for the franchise, Kennedy clarified that the primary factor delaying the start of production is the director's own busy schedule.

"Taika is on Taika time," Kennedy playfully admitted to to the site. "I’ve just continually said to him, look, when you feel that you’re ready and you can really devote the time, we’re going to do it. We’ll be waiting. I’m just hoping we get there. That will be a great Star Wars movie."

Adding an intriguing layer to the project,...

"Best Star Wars story since the original trilogy." Early reviews of Andor season 2 are glowing
Image
The Andor panel at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan included several cast and crew members on stage, including Diego Luna. However, the real surprise came later.

The attendees got to see the second season's first episode before its official release on Disney+. Some of the fans who were present at the viewing and others who got an opportunity at an early screening shared their opinions on social media.

Jason Concepcio wrote, "Andor Season 2 is outrageously good."

Star Wars Holocron gave a more detailed breakdown after watching all 12 episodes of season 2. "This season is more mature and relevant than any other Star Wars project," they said. "The show explores difficult topics never explored before in Star Wars, and handles them with incredible grace and thoughtfulness." They also added what the Andor cast and crew have been saying for a while: Season 2 changes our perspective on Rogue One and A New Hope.

6 Years Ago, Stephen King Dropped the Most Apt Bob Dylan Quote to Troll Star Wars Haters
Image
Needless to say, Star Wars has received a lot of hate in the past few years, and the fandom surely thinks that it was for good reason. From lackluster storytelling to fan-favorite characters being snubbed, Star Wars has had a rough patch for the last few years, one that is clearly present in the state of the fandom.

However, there was a section of the fandom that had some unfair criticisms, regardless, and that was the reason why a lot of them took to the internet to spit their vitriol at anyone who would listen. Stephen King was not one of them. In fact, the author decided to employ a certain adage from Bob Dylan to talk about the whole situation.

Taika Waititi is one of the industries greatest visionary filmmakers, and for quite a while, we've heard rumblings about his own take on a Star Warsmovie. In the shared media suite between Colliderand ScreenRant, ScreenRant's Ash Crossan spoke with Kennedy about the film. Basically it's still being worked on, and we still don't know what it is about.

Shawn Levy’s Star Wars movie Starfighter is coming soon — and I'm here for it
Image
Editor's Note: Star Wars Celebration 2025 Japan revealed that Shawn Levy's film is called Star Wars: Starfighter and confirmed that Ryan Gosling will star in the film. The release date is 2027 for Star Wars' 50th anniversary. See the full recap here. This article was written prior to the reveal. However, the author's thoughts and opinions still stand.

For a while now, Shawn Levy’s Star Wars movie has felt like one of those galaxy-brained ideas that might just float in the void forever — a cool "what if?" without any concrete momentum. But that narrative may finally be shifting, thanks to some updates from writer Jonathan Tropper and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

In a new interview with ScreenRant, Tropper, who previously teamed up with Levy on The Adam Project, offered a rather tantalizing hint about the project's progress. While remaining tight-lipped on specifics, Tropper responded to excitement about the movie with,...
