Kathleen Kennedy
Did Disney announce that Star Wars: Episode X will be 'The Return of Rey'? Maybe that title is wishful thinking, but Daisy Ridley's Rey is definitely back for another Star Wars film! Rey will rebuild the Jedi Academy to train a new generation of younglings in the ways of the Force. Order 66 declared the Jedi traitors to the Galactic Republic, and they've been in hiding for decades. The film will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, winner of two Academy Awards for Documentary Shorts, and and the script will be written by Steven Knight ("Peaky Blinders," 'Spencer', 'Eastern Promises'). Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy surprised the 2023 Star Wars Celebration fans by bringing Ridley on stage to announce her return.

Eight-time Academy Award®-nominated, Kathleen Kennedy is one of the most successful and respected producers and executives in the film industry today. As President of Lucasfilm, she oversees the company's three divisions: Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound.
