It's going to be a bit of a wait for the next episode of Accused. When does the Fox series return?
Accused was a good breakout success for Fox in early 2023. Adapting a British series, the anthology tells a different story each week of someone on trial. As the episode unfolds, flashbacks show the setup to the crime and often revealing that the actual crime isn't what the audience expects.
The show stands out in how each episode tells a brand new story with a big-name actor in the lead role. After a successful first season, it was renewed, only to be delayed by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Fox decided to hold the show back until the fall of 2024, when it premiered in October with their usual lineup.
The show has maintained its quality in the first few episodes. It keeps with top guest stars such as Felicity Huffman, Taylor Schilling and Nick Cannon.

Heading into the second season of “Accused,” series developer Howard Gordon and showrunner Daniel Pearle didn’t have a clear overarching theme in mind. What they had instead was a goal.
“Honestly, we just wanted to be better,” Gordon told TheWrap. “We’re testing the limits.”
That’s a tall order considering the fact that “Accused” is already a difficult feat of television. Each episode of the anthology series plays out like its own little mystery, following someone else who’s on trial. Through a series of flashbacks that play out over the course of the episode, the audience slowly learns why they’re in the courtroom before the series ultimately reveals their crimes and sentencing. According to Pearle, one of the main questions they faced during the Fox drama’s first season was how do you make a series of completely different standalone stories feel connected. But as the...

Fox’s acclaimed courtroom drama anthology series, Accused, returns with its second season, and the very first chapter, “Lorraine’s Story,” presents an intriguing case that seamlessly admixes real and mystical elements. Aside from actor Felicity Huffman’s poignant, strong performance as an afflicted, emotionally burdened psychic, the key hook of the episode turns out to be a pervading ambivalence that makes viewers feel conflicted about fact and fiction and get caught up in the tangle between sympathy and skepticism. How much the case itself mimics real-life situations of similar kind makes the episode a thoroughly entertaining watch, and finding themselves in the role of the jury, it is up to the viewers to decide which side they’d prefer to lean towards.

We finally have a complete cast list for Accused season 2, so here’s a look at who’s starring in the second season of the Fox hit!
Based on a British show, Accused premiered in 2023 on Fox and quickly became a success. The anthology series opens with a person on trial and flashbacks showing how they got to this point. The storylines are unique, with the crime often not what viewers expected and not always having a happy ending.
The show did well in the ratings and is set for a second season. It was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, with Fox deciding to hold it off until this fall. As with season 1, each episode features a brand new guest cast with a new storyline.
It is confirmed that Emmy winner Michael Chiklis, who starred in the pilot episode, will return for season 2 but in a different part. He...

The Brutalist has immediately left its mark as a trying, heavy epic…so it’s really no shock that A24 has landed distribution rights. While no release date has been announced yet, the film will no doubt be headed into awards season in full force.
The Brutalist was a sensation at this year’s Venice Film Festival, garnering a 12-minute standing ovation and winning the Silver Lion, which goes to the film’s director, in this case Brady Corbet. Although originally known as an actor (notably giving a terrific performance in Michael Haneke’s Funny Games remake), Corbet has been making his mark behind the camera. He co-wrote The Brutalist with longtime partner Mona Fastvold.
Here is the film’s plot: “The Brutalist chronicles the journey of Hungarian-born Jewish architect, László Tóth, who emigrates to the United States of America in 1947. Initially forced to toil in poverty, he soon wins...

Soap Operas often have storylines featuring sick or dying children. Currently, The Young and the Restless is wrapping up Connor Newman’s Ocd storyline, and Faith’s kidney transplant has recently been mentioned. General Hospital had two unborn babies die in the past many months. Days of our Lives also featured Chanel losing her baby after big worries over radiation problems. On The Bold and the Beautiful, Hope, panicked when Beth got sick earlier this summer. Here are a few more sick kid storylines that have popped up on daytime over the years, and a lot of times, these stories end up fizzling out. Here are a few of them.

I know it doesn’t feel like 2004 was 20 years ago, but it was, which means many great TV shows just turned 20 years old.
Seriously, 2004 is a sneaky good year for new TV premieres. Most of the titles on this list of good TV shows turning 20 years old in 2024 were broadcast hits. The cable networks had a decent market share in the early 2000s, but we’re still a decade before the streaming industry changed the TV game.
At this point in TV history, we’re still seven years before the Game of Thrones premiere. Remember that, please!
Let’s get the list started with the best show of 2004!

After all, when Reid was brought up this season, Prentiss (Paget Brewster) said he was on a sabbatical. But don’t read too much into that, showrunner Erica Messer says. “I think we discussed what Prentiss would say to Jill [Felicity Huffman] and it just felt like special assignment felt too ‘in the know,'” Messer tells TV Insider. “That’s only if you need to know. Note: This story contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of “Criminal Minds: Evolution.”
Whether you consider it Season 2 or Season 17, “Criminal Minds: Evolution” ended with quite the explosion in Thursday’s finale. While fans were concerned for Paget Brewster’s Prentiss going into Episode 10, it was Zach Gilford’s serial killer Voit (aka Sicarius) who ultimately met his end — or did he?
Since the sequel series has already been renewed for Season 3 at Paramount+, showrunner Erica Messer broke down the twist-filled finale with TheWrap and gave a concrete answer about that violent cliffhanger.
“It was a journey to get here, because in some ways it really started at last season’s finale when Doug Bailey (Nicholas D’Agosto) was killed by Elias Voit, seemingly because Voit used this code word ‘Gold Star,’ which got Bailey to walk in all alone, unarmed, into the lion’s den,” she explained. “The journey to...

Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 (also known as Criminal Minds season 17) has taken fans on a wild journey as TV’s favorite profilers try to figure out and eradicate the threat of “Gold Star.”
Throughout most of season two, the storyline focused on the characters Jade (Liana Liberato) and Damien (David Garelik) as they attempted to seek revenge on those who had abused them and were connected to Stuart House. This group included Jill Gideon (Felicity Huffman), the wife of Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), who Damien abducted in episode eight before he surrendered and signaled for Jade to kill him so he wouldn’t be locked up again.
The penultimate episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 was even more of a rollercoaster of unexpected plot twists. We discovered that neither Jade nor Damien were the actual threats. They were just members...

The latest season of “Criminal Minds: Evolution” on Paramount+ surprised fans with the introduction of a character straight out of the original series. Jill Gideon, played by Felicity Huffman, is finally joining the Bau – and she’s shaking things up in the best way!
Jill was briefly referenced in early seasons as the ex-wife of Jason Gideon, one of the original Bau founders. But now we’re getting her full backstory, and lemme tell you, it’s juicy. Turns out Jill helped start the unit too. I wonder what other secrets she’s been hiding!
Huffman is killing it in the role. Jill seems tough, but you can tell she cares deeply. Like Gideon, she’s brilliant but flawed. Her dynamic with David Rossi is also super intense – expect lots of drama between these two.
I geeked out when Jill’s storyline mirrored a classic episode from season one. It...

Cook) notes that back when the white paper was written, Jill had to stay in the shadows while Rossi and Jason took credit. And then things get really tense when Jill blames Rossi for Jason’s death. ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’: Joe Mantegna & Felicity Huffman on Tense Reunion Amidst Bau’s ‘Mistake’
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 17 Episode 7 “Piranha.”] Rossi (Joe Mantegna) gets the blast from the past he tried so hard to avoid in the final moments of the latest Criminal Minds: Evolution episode. But offscreen, it’s a different story. Mantegna reunited with Felicity Huffman and Rossi with her character, Gideon’s ex-wife Jill, with whom he has history, when he walked into his office at the end of “Piranha” and found her looking at the boxes gathered. But for Mantegna, it led to him recalling “lovely memories.” While he hadn’t yet watched the episode (“I like to watch [them] as the public sees them”), he did remember filming it when he and Huffman talked to TV Insider about this episode. “Felicity and I go way back, so it was exciting. When last we tuned into Paramount+’s Criminal Minds: Evolution, Rossi revealed to the team, in dramatic fashion, that the mysterious “North Star” entity that inspired Gold Star is in fact the Bau itself.
To illustrate his alarming point, he distributed copies of a white paper that he and Jason Gideon drafted — but never submitted — back in the ’90s, which in essence suggested a “recipe” for creating a serial killer.

Attorney-turned-selling novelist Scott Turow made the cover of Time magazine the summer of 1990 describing him as the “Bard of the Litigious Age.” And 34 years later, the 75-year-old still is. Over the past four decades, Turow has written 13 works of fiction which have been translated into 40 languages and have sold more than 30 million copies. Several have been transformed into miniseries and TV movies.
In fact, Hollywood filmmakers were salivating in 1987 for the rights to Turow’s first novel, “Presumed Innocent,” a clever, sexy murder mystery with twists and turns that would baffle even Columbo, about a prosecutor accused of murdering the attractive colleague with whom he had been romantically involved “It began a sort of Hollywood frenzy,” Turow told me in a 1992 L.A. Times interview. “It was one weekend’s madness.” And for good reason, the novel spent 44 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list and another five months on the paperback charts.

“Only Murders in the Building” will be getting even more murder-solvers with a meta twist.
The upcoming fourth season of the beloved Hulu series will star Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, and Eva Longoria as the film adaptation versions of Steve Martin’s Charles, Martin Short’s Oliver, and Selena Gomez’s Mabel, respectively.
Levy, Galifianakis, and Longoria were all previously announced as cast members, but there roles are now confirmed. All actors are playing versions of themselves.

Even if you don’t recognize the name of Aaron Sorkin, his works certainly speak for him. We all know such cinema masterpieces as Tom Cruise’s A Few Good Men (1992), Jesse Eisenberg’s The Social Network (2010) and Brad Pitt’s Moneyball (2011).
It is Sorkin who is the author of these movies’ screenplays and who is known as a master of dialogue. However, few people know he was also very much of a TV showrunner, and his first dramedy series is still hailed by fans, almost 25 years later.
Its plot focuses on two employees of a fictional TV channel who start a sports news show aired at night and face the network’s constant pressure. However, the talent of its anchors is the main key for making it through the challenges of the TV.

In the first episode of When They See Us, Ava DuVernay’s bleak drama about the Central Park Five, Linda Fairstein, then head of the sex crimes unit investigating the case, gives an order to dispatch an army of officers to Harlem. “Every young Black male who was in the park last night is a suspect in the rape of that woman who is fighting for her life right now,” says her character, played by Felicity Huffman. “You go into those projects, and you stop every little thug you see.”
Is that DuVernay leveraging broad artistic liberties under the First Amendment to make Fairstein the central villain in the miniseries, even though the ex-prosecutor might not have given that command? Or is it defamation?

Exclusive: Ava DuVernay had a lot to say in the Emmy-winning When They See Us about the harm heaped on the so-called Central Park 5. Now she is speaking out about the settlement she and Netflix reached with the former prosecutor in that travesty of justice.
“After years of legal wrangling and millions of dollars spent, [former prosecutor Linda Fairstein] walked away with no payment to her or her lawyers of any kind, rather than face cross examination before a New York jury as to her conduct and character,” the Array founder told Deadline today of the end of the four-year defamation suit that was set for trial to start on June 10. “I believe that Linda Fairstein was responsible for the investigation and prosecution of the Central Park Jogger case that resulted in the wrongful conviction of five innocent Black and Brown boys,” she bluntly said.
She added: “In the days leading up to her defamation trial,...

Linda Fairstein, the controversial former prosecutor involved in the Central Park Five case, has settled her defamation lawsuit against Netflix and Ava DuVernay over the 2019 docuseries “When They See Us.”
Fairstein sued in 2020, alleging that she was falsely portrayed as a racist villain who orchestrated the convictions of five innocent young men. The case was set to go to trial next week in federal court in Manhattan.
In the settlement, Netflix agreed to donate $1 million to the Innocence Project. Fairstein will not receive money.
Netflix also agreed to add this disclaimer to the front of the show: “While the motion picture is inspired by actual events and persons, certain characters, incidents, locations, dialogue, and names are fictionalized for the purposes of dramatization.”
Fairstein said in a statement that the litigation has revealed the truth about the case. She cited a judge’s ruling last fall denying Netflix’s motion for summary judgment,...
