To say that few filmmakers love movies as much as Quentin Tarantino is a staggering understatement. Few people love movies as much as Quentin Tarantino, and the cinephile’s tastes continue to shape Hollywood.
The video store clerk-turned-director has spent decades dazzling interviewers and fans with his unparalleled knowledge of cinema history, with tastes that range from universally acclaimed classics to more obscure and even lowbrow fare. While his love of spaghetti Westerns and exploitation flicks has always been well-documented, Tarantino isn’t afraid to publicly embrace the modern or mainstream. He proudly championed “Top Gun: Maverick” in the summer of 2022, as did so many others. Not to mention, he’s a fan of rom-coms, particularly on long flights. (He once dubbed Kate Hudson “the queen of the skies” and he’s not wrong!) The man just loves cinema, and if a film entertains him, he’s going to tell the world about it.

There’s being a team player, and there’s playing a member of the team.
That’s the singular synergy that developed between Kate Hudson and Jeanie Buss, the inspiration behind Isla Gordon, Hudson’s character on Netflix’s Running Point. The comedy follows Gordon, as she takes over running her famiy’s basketball team — much as Buss runs the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I couldn’t be more proud,” says Buss of seeing herself — or a likeness thereof — portrayed on screen by Hudson. “I love the sense of humor and the friendship and camaraderie between Brenda Song and Kate — it’s inspiring.”
Here, the two women — who first met when Hudson was just 14 — share their experiences in working together on the series, being women in the spotlight, and wanting to shoot their brothers with a paintball gun.

Finneas is a lovestruck actor playing an astronaut on the big screen, while haplessly in love with his director off-screen. Directed by Claudia Sulewski, the singer-songwriter stars in his new music video for “2001” alongside Kate Hudson.
The infectious, yearning track begins with a nod to Pink Floyd as Finneas sings: “Stuck waitin’ for you on the dark side of the moon/With an unbeatable view at a table for two.” The video echos the lyrics through its otherworldly theme, as the camera cuts between scenes of Finneas filming against a green screen,...

Kate Hudson is the star in the music video for Finneas’s “2001,” which the superproducer released on Wednesday.
The music video sees the Finneas play an actor pining for Hudson’s love and attention as he stars in her intergalactic film. Throughout the clips, Finneas sings the lyrics to the track while chasing after Hudson, who doesn’t pay him much mind.
“Honey, what you runnin’ from? / When you comin’ back to bed? / Toss and turn it all night long with me instead / Honey, what you runnin’ from? / Where the hell you headed to? / Do you like the way I run after you?” he sings throughout the song.
While Hudson starred in the music video as a director, “2001” was actually helmed by Finneas’ girlfriend, Claudia Sulewski, who was inspired by the 1968 film of the same name, 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Welcome to It’s a Hit! In this series, IndieWire speaks to creators and showrunners behind a few of our favorite television programs about the moment they realized their show was breaking big.
A basketball-themed Netflix comedy starring Kate Hudson might seem like a surefire recipe for a hit, but as showrunner David Stassen told IndieWire, you really just never know.
“We felt like we had a great cast, and we had the benefit of a lot of time with the show before going to production, because of a delay in the room starting and then the writers’ strike, I like to say the show just got to bake a little longer,” he told IndieWire. “We really knew who our characters were, and we knew the family and the dynamics. We loved the world and the family, and we loved our cast, but you just don’t know how something’s going to be received.

The first three episodes of Poker Face are now streaming on Peacock, and although it took more than two years for the series to return to streaming, its strong reception thus far proves it was more than worth the wait. Season 2 of Natasha Lyonne's bumbling detective series currently sits at a perfect 100% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the audience-driven Popcornmeter has come to rest at 77%. Collider is thrilled to partner with Peacock to showcase an exclusive sneak peek from the upcoming fourth episode of Poker Face Season 2, which shows guest star Kumail Nanjiani doing his best Tiger King impression, only for alligators. Other notable names to feature as guest stars on the new season of Poker Face include Cynthia Erivo, Awkwafina, John Mulaney, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Ciara, Kate Hudson, Rachel Brosnahan, Rashida Jones, Jodie Turner-Smith and many more were in attendance Monday night at the cocktail party (the caviar bar and lime green Jello shots seemed to be the most popular) opening of the 5,000-square-foot three-floor boutique at 366 N. Rodeo.
Later, guests headed to Mr. Chow for a sit-down dinner and after-party, deejayed by Marjorie Gubelmann, aka DJ Mad Marj.
“Working on this store was incredibly personal,” Burch said. “To me, it feels quintessentially L.A., where modern design is juxtaposed against so much natural beauty.”
The Tory Burch label became best known for its bright colors and orange logo when it launched in 2004. The first Tory Burch store in L.A. opened on Robertson Boulevard in 2005. It has since closed, but there...

When it comes to show business, it is not uncommon for actors and actresses to take up names that are a little more snappy, and work well with the personalities that they end up projecting. However, sometimes, these names become so famous that the real, legal names of these celebrities come as a surprise to those not in the know.
Be it big names in films like Natalie Portman, a talent that has defined a generation like Emma Stone, or even musicians such as Katy Perry, some of the names that these celebrities end up taking up are wildly different from what their legal names are, while others stick closer to what their friends and family know them by. Here is a list of celebrities who have chosen stage names that are very different from their actual names.

Wally Baram never set out to be an actress.
She was perfectly happy cracking jokes, punching up scripts and building a stand-up career — until one day, during a writers room session for Prime Video’s Overcompensating, the producers asked her to audition. She humored them with a self-tape, fully expecting to be ignored.
Instead, one callback led to another, and then another. When the final call came offering her the part, Baram was mid-argument with her boyfriend and barely registered the news. “I hung up and went right back into the fight,” she says, laughing. Even her lawyer, stunned to see an acting contract, called her to ask, “How did this happen?”
Now, Baram, 27, is starring alongside series creator Benito Skinner in a show tailor-made for digital natives: It’s co-produced by A24, with original music by Charli Xcx (who also makes a cameo and serves as executive music producer...

Despite closing out the 2024-25 TV season as the most-watched broadcast network, CBS had to make some tough calls in canceling popular series like “The Equalizer,” “S.W.A.T.” and two “FBI” spinoffs from the 2025-26 lineup — cancellations that might have upset fans, but which seem self-explanatory breaking down where they ranked in this season’s ratings.
It comes as no surprise the network’s shining stars “Tracker” and “Matlock,” which earned a Season 2 renewal after just two episodes, continued their dominance throughout the season, wrapping up as the two most-watched broadcast series according to Nielsen live-plus-35-day multiplatform figures. The Justin Hartley-led procedural averaged 17.5 million viewers while Kathy Bates’ twisty legal reboot closed out its first season with 16.1 million viewers.

This article contains spoilers for The Four Seasons.
The chances of The Four Seasons season 2 being renewed earn a hopeful response from two of the show's creative team. Co-created by the trio of Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, and drawing inspiration from the 1981 movie of the same name, the eight-episode Netflix comedy recently premiered. It follows six friends who go on a relaxing trip together, only to learn that one couple intends to end their relationship. With a Four Seasons cast that includes Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, Steve Carell, Erika Henningsen, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Fey, the series has received generally positive reviews.
In an interview with TV Insider, Wigfield and Fey addressed whether The Four Seasons could return for season 2. Wigfield referenced events in the finale for her response, noting that the Netflix comedy would follow many of the same characters if it received a renewal.

Before she became everyone’s favorite goth forensic genius on NCIS, Pauley Perrette had already been in a short-lived but beloved legal drama that flew under the radar. A whole seven years before stepping into Abby Sciuto’s lab coat, she starred in a quirky two-season series that’s now got cult status among TV buffs.
Sadly, despite its charm and a loyal fanbase, the network pulled the plug way too soon. It’s one of those “canceled too early” heartbreakers and a hidden gem in Perrette’s pre-NCIS resume.

HBO's The Last of Us adaptation already includes some popular A-list actors. Pedro Pascal leads the cast as Joel Miller, with Bella Ramsay playing his adoptive daughter, Ellie. Meanwhile, the likes of Gabriel Luna, Catherine O'Hara, Melanie Lynskey, Danny Ramirez, Nick Offerman, and Jeffrey Wright have all come and gone in the show's post-apocalyptic landscape. But, no one was expecting Friends star Jennifer Aniston to make a brief cameo in Season 2. In fact, the cameo was so surprising, even Aniston herself was shocked by it.
The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 2, titled "Through the Valley," was memorable for many spoiler-filled reasons (which won't be spoiled here). But, one scene included a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo from Jennifer Aniston. While sheltering from the blizzard in an abandoned convenience store, Ellie stumbles upon a 2003 issue of People Magazine. Along with the likes of Kate Hudson, Britney Spears, and a feature on the 'Best & Worst Dresses,...

Russell is, of course, the son of Academy Award winner Goldie Hawn and all-around acting legend Kurt Russell . What's more, his paternal grandfather, Bing Russell, had an acting career that spanned four decades, while his older half-siblings Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson are also successful actors.
In other words, there's a lot of acting talent sitting at the family's Thanksgiving table. Since both of Russell's parents have plenty of experience in Hollywood productions, it's easy to assume that he's received some truly stellar advice on how to succeed in the acting business. In an interview with People, Russell confirmed that he's indeed received some excellent and surprisingly succinct advice from them. Here's the simple set of rules Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn gave their son:

Whether you love awkward talking heads or funny workplace dysfunction, these comedies deliver.
I’ve been watching “Abbott Elementary” since the beginning, and I swear, every season just gets better. Season 4 wrapped up last week, and now I’m back in that familiar post-finale slump — missing the chaos of the teachers’ lounge, the Janine-Gregory tension, and those awkwardly perfect talking-head interviews. So if you’re also wondering what to watch now that Abbott’s on break, I’ve got you. These four new comedies all scratch a similar itch — funny, heartfelt, and packed with characters you want to hang out with.

There's some bad news for fans of the Max comedy series The Sex Lives of College Girls, but it's news that fans have likely been processing for quite some time. After being canceled by Max after three seasons in March, Warner Bros. failed to find a new home for the series to continue with season 4. It's an unfortunate end to this story which held a lot of promise.
Following the show's cancellation, co-creator and showrunner Justin Noble shared that it wasn't the "outcome I saw coming," since the Mindy Kaling-produced series had maintained popularity on the streamer through its season 3 run. Even if Max wasn't able to keep the series around, fans probably expected other streamers to see the potential in the series enough to save it.

After a photo of Marissa Reyes began circulating online last week, wherein she could be seen posing alongside “Days of our Lives” actors Al Calderon (Javi Hernandez), Cherie Jimenez (Gabi Hernandez) and Dan Feuerriegel (Ej Dimera), fans of the daytime drama series began wondering if the actress had joined the show’s cast and, if so, who she’d be playing.
“All my favorite people in one photo,” was the caption on the photo, first published on Feuerriegel’s Instagram story timeline.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Reyes will indeed be entering the world of Salem, making her daytime debut next month as an aged-up Arianna Horton, Gabi and Will Horton’s (Chandler Massey) daughter.
If the character’s name sounds familiar, you’ll recall that Arianna is named after her deceased aunt who died in 2010 after she was tragically hit by a car driven after she ran away from...

The Voice has found its latest “mega mentors.”
The NBC music competition series has added Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes to Season 27, NBC said Monday. The pair will serve as mentors for contestants, with Crow joining coaches Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé and Rimes working alongside John Legend and Adam Levine.
Each coach enters the playoffs with five artists per team, helping the artists ahead of their most high-stakes performances before the coaches choose two artists from their team to advance to the live shows.
It comes after Season 26 had former coach Jennifer Hudson and Sting as mentors.
Crow and Rimes are the latest to be added to this season after Kate Hudson, Coco Jones, Cynthia Erivo and Little Big Town joined as battle advisors.
Crow is a newbie to The Voice universe, while Rimes has been a coach on the UK and Australian versions of the show.
The Voice airs Mondays at 8 p.

School's out for good for The Sex Lives of College Girls. Warner Bros Television Group CEO Channing Dungey recently revealed that the acclaimed teen comedy series had failed to find a new home in the month following its cancelation on Max.
The disappointing renewal update was shared during a wide-ranging interview with Deadline, who asked Dungey if she could see The Sex Lives of College Girls make the jump to Netflix, similar to how The Sandman spinoff Dead Boy Detectives moved from Max to Netflix during its production. "I don’t think so. We were very much hoping to find a new home for that one, and I think we’ve now come to the end of the road, which is disappointing, because it’s a show that we really love," Dungey stated. "I’m so proud of the three seasons that we did at Max but I don’t...

It’s an abstinence-only ending for The Sex Lives of College Girls, after efforts to resurrect the canceled Max series have proved futile. Back in March, the network told the comedy drama to get off (not in a good way), axing it after a three-season run. Since then, Warner Bros. Television, the folks behind the project, started working hard to secure another set of episodes that would carry on the story of the young group of friends. Unfortunately, the Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble co-created title just can’t seem to seal the deal with any other prospective buyers, making this the end of the road.
In a statement released with the heartbreaking announcement, Channing Dungey, Warner Bros. TV Group chairman told Deadline,
