It’s been an intense ride for Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Starz’s other spinoff series from its massive network redefining Power franchise launched in 2021. Unlike Power Book II: Ghost which was a continuation in the aftermath of Ghost’s death and the departure of Omari Hardwick, prequel Raising Kanan was charged with exploring a younger Kanan, the character Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson played in the flagship of the Power franchise that he and co-creator Courtney Kemp launched in 2014.
In the series spearheaded by showrunner Sascha Penn is a backstory that sought to explain how Kanan became the monster fans saw in the original. That meant bringing in Mekai Curtis as 15-year-old Kanan to play opposite Tony winner Patina Miller as his ambitious, drug-dealing mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas, who led the family drug business with her older brother, Marvin (London Miller) and youngest brother...

While his behavior can border on antisocial, House is a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts afford him widespread respect. An infectious disease specialist, House thrives on the challenge of solving medical puzzles in order to save lives.
Among the cast include stars like Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Morrison, Peter Jacobson, Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Amber Tamblyn, Odette Annable and Charlyne Yi.

Jon Hamm is one of those actors who seem to have emerged from the past, who was born wearing a slick suit and holding a dry martini. That's why he's so perfectly utilized in the period drama Mad Men. His masculine baritone is also used to great effect as Jack Bergin, the protagonist of Audible's The Big Lie and now The Big Fix, which finds the former FBI special agent now working as an intrepid private eye in glorious film noir fashion. MovieWeb has an exclusive clip from the Audible Original, which is out today, April 24, and also features Ana De La Reguera, John Slattery, Alia Shawkat, Omar Epps, and Erin Moriarty.
You can find Audible's official synopsis below:

Hugh Laurie's curmudgeonly genius was undoubtedly the main draw of "House M.D." but he'd be nothing without a supporting cast of characters to continuously upset, befuddle, and bewilder. From the very beginning of the hit Fox series, Dr. Gregory House was surrounded by a team of colleagues who were both enamored and perpetually offended by a man who remains one of the greatest detectives in movie and TV history.
Whether it was head of oncology at Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital and House's bestie, Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard); Dean of Medicine, Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), or House's team of diagnosticians, there were plenty of personalities against which the titular M.D.'s cynicism could clash. Throughout the show's eight seasons, that team of diagnosticians changed somewhat, with new doctors joining the team at various points. At the beginning of season...

Nowadays, Fox's "House M.D." almost feels like a relic of a different time in television history, in which a network show with over 20 episodes a year could still be essentially a prestige concoction, carried by smart, profound writing, heady themes, and ambitious character work, while still conforming enough to a cozy weekly formula to become a ratings hit -- one massive enough to cost Hugh Laurie his role in "Superman Returns," no less.
While some of the show's 177 episodes are so similar as to start blurring into each other in retrospect, many "House" episodes have stood the test of time as first-rate hours of television by any reasonable criteria -- installments in which Dr. Gregory House was not just one of the greatest detectives in TV history, but a catalyst for searching and creative storytelling that used medicine to reflect on the mysteries of the human soul.

Jon Hamm has done plenty of voice acting over his career, but voicing 1950s FBI agent-turned-private investigator Jack Bergin has proven unique.

House MD remains one of the most captivating and compelling medical dramas of all time. The series that introduced the cynical Doctor Gregory House kept audiences engaged with intriguing medical mysteries and "puzzles" that House and his team had to solve before it was too late for the patient. But no matter their intelligence and medical knowledge, House and his team weren't always on time. Sometimes, patients die before the team reaches their diagnosis, and most of these deaths happen in the most heartbreaking scenes of the show.
While many of the patients' deaths in House MD were upsetting, there were a few other deaths from recurring and main characters that made more than one fan shed a tear. House MD knew how to create intricate interpersonal drama that didn't take away from the medical mysteries but still kept audiences engaged with the characters' lives.

House took a bold risk midway through its run by dramatically reshuffling its core cast, and it paid off in ways few shows could manage. After three seasons of following Dr. Gregory House and his original diagnostic team, which included Dr. Foreman, Dr. Cameron, and Dr. Chase, the medical drama broke the mold of what was to be expected from hospital procedurals. House surprisingly dismantled his team and was tasked to hire new fellows the next season. Instead of hiring anyone like a normal person, Dr. House hired his new team over the course of several episodes with around 40 options. This shakeup not only breathed new life into the series but also introduced a colorful array of characters, including fan favorites like Dr. Taub, Dr. Kutner, and Thirteen.

Apparently, some fans weren’t thrilled with Thirteen’s relationship with Dr. Eric Foreman on the hit television series, House. According to star Olivia Wilde, who portrayed MD Remy Hadley, a.k.a. Thirteen, alongside co-star Omar Epps (Dr. Foreman), the actress received “insane death threats” because of the interracial love affair. Wilde revealed extra security was even hired in an interview at the Red Sea International Film Festival. Wilde said (per Variety):
"[There were] insane death threats constantly coming into the studios. Seeing what’s on television now, if you watch ‘Euphoria,’ the fact that my character was shocking and groundbreaking, then, it’s like, no, it’s nothing."
Wilde, who portrayed Thirteen from Season 4 through Season 8, was nominated for four Teen Choice Awards (2008-2011) and a Screen Actors Guild Awards nod (Ensemble nomination) during her time on House. Today, Wilde is not only a renowned performer, but an influential filmmaker.

Cole died at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, publicist Rachel Harris announced. No cause of death was revealed.
Produced by Aaron Spelling and Danny Thomas, The Mod Squad also starred Peggy Lipton as flower girl Julie Barnes (a vagrant who had fled her prostitute mother) and Clarence Williams III as Lincoln Hayes (arrested during the Watts riots). Olivia Wilde has opened up about her time on House, reflecting on the impact of her character and the shocking backlash it received. Wilde, now a celebrated actor and director, got her breakout role as Alex Kelly on The O.C. but rose to stardom when she joined the hit medical drama during season 4, playing Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley, a doctor with Huntington's disease. Although the show was a massive success, becoming the most-watched television show in the world in 2008, it seems that some storylines were not well-received by audiences.
In a recent interview with Variety, Wilde discussed how Thirteen's storyline stirred controversy because the character's bisexuality and interracial relationship storylines broke new ground for television at the time, which resulted in "insane death threats constantly coming into the studios" and extra security measures on set. The star also emphasized how far television has progressed in normalizing such stories.

House creator David Shore has finally given a definitive response to the ending's big Foreman question, 12 years after the series finale aired. House's best episodes are scattered throughout its eight-season run, with the series finale, titled "Everybody Dies," being particularly memorable. The final episode ends with House (Hugh Laurie) and Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) riding off together after the protagonist fakes his own death. However, one final scene in a montage sequence shows Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps) finding the main character's hospital ID, seemingly his way of telling him he's still alive.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Shore confirmed that House's last scene with Foreman was meant to tell the Dean of Medicine that his former boss was still alive. He also confirmed what the small smile on his face meant in the final scene, definitively closing the book on his reaction over 12 years after the episode aired.

Jude Law is an accomplished actor with a BAFTA win along with two Academy Award nominations, but there's one movie he stars in that he's really not proud of. Two decades after its release, Law has opened up about the regrets he feels for starring in the 2004 movie Alfie.
Alfie, which was inspired by the stage play and previous film adaptation starring Michael Caine, featured Law in the lead role of Alfie Elkins Jr., a womanizer who attempts to give monogamy a try. Marisa Tomei, Omar Epps, Nia Long, Sienna Miller, and Jane Krakowski also starred. The romantic dramedy was a dud, earning $35 million against a budget of $60 million. Its critical reception was mixed, with the film holding a rotten score of 48% on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes. Looking back at the movie's lack of success 20 years later, Law admitted to GQ it was the wrong move to star in Alfie,...

2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the Renny Harlin shark thriller Deep Blue Sea (watch it Here) – and all these years later, one of the film’s stars is still waiting to have a rematch with the genetically engineered mako sharks at the heart of the story. That actor is LL Cool J, whose character Sherman “Preacher” Dudley was originally supposed to die in the movie (and LL Cool J has said that he nearly died for real during filming), but Harlin decided Preacher should be one of the few people to make it all the way to the end credits, which then had an LL Cool J song playing over them.
Directed by Harlin from a screenplay by Duncan Kennedy, Donna Powers, and Wayne Powers, Deep Blue Sea has the following synopsis: On an island research facility, Dr. Susan McAlester is harvesting the brain tissue of DNA-altered...

The creator of House did consider several potential spin-offs. The show was a medical procedural that ran for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012. House's sizable cast included Hugh Laurie (Dr. House), Robert Sean Leonard (Dr. Wilson), Omar Epps (Dr. Foreman), Lisa Edelstein (Dr. Cuddy), and more. It featured a wide variety of medical issues and mysteries, but the vast majority of the show centered around its titular protagonist's sour nature. The show was a massive hit, earning over 19 million viewers at its height and winning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
Over a decade after the show ended, Entertainment Weekly spoke with the creator, David Shore. While discussing his hit procedural, Shore explained that he and the other producers did consider a spin-off after the season 8 finale. They considered placing other characters in a leading role, giving them more of a chance to stand out without standing in Dr. House's shadow.

Despite his many memorable leading man performances over the years, Jude Law has at least one regret in his filmography.
The 2x Oscar nominee recently reflected on director Charles Shyer’s 2004 remake of Alfie as a “bad move” for his career following Academy Award-nominated performances in Cold Mountain (2003) and The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999).
“I was in a really strong position [at that time] because I’d just had another [Oscar] nomination on the back of Cold Mountain, and for Alfie to be the film I chose to do quite soon after that, I think was a bad move,” Law told British GQ.
After Michael Caine portrayed the titular playboy in the original 1966 film, followed by Alan Price in the 1975 sequel Alfie Darling, Law was left underwhelmed by an early screening of his own rendition.
“I just felt it hadn’t elevated [the material] and felt a little light, a little too cheesy,” he admitted. “I think...

Can you believe it’s been over 12 years since House ended?!
The Fox medical television show ended its run after eight seasons on the network, and after winning several awards, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and three Creative Arts Emmys.
Starring Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Morrison, Peter Jacobson, Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Amber Tamblyn, Odette Annable and Charlyne Yi, the series focused on Dr. Gregory House (Laurie), who is devoid of anything resembling bedside manner and wouldn’t even talk to his patients if he could get away with it. Dealing with his own constant physical pain, he uses a cane that seems to punctuate his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor.
While his behavior can border on antisocial, House is a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts afford him widespread respect. An infectious disease specialist, House thrives on the challenge of...

The best Omar Epps movies and TV shows include long-running medical, crime, and fantasy genres, and he also has some great work on the big screen as well. Epps was born in Brooklyn and attended a high school that specialized in performing arts before he started working in both music and acting. He then had a huge opportunity when he made his film debut in Juice, which got a lot of attention since it was also the film acting debut of rap legend Tupac Shakur. That was just the start.
Epps had a lot of success on the big screen, but he became a star thanks to his work on television. After a small recurring role in the medical drama ER, he exploded in popularity when he was cast as Dr. Eric Foreman in the medical drama series House. The actor earned several awards nominations for this role and then...

Apple TVs Severance is the perfect blend of mystery, psychology, and suspense. In some respects, its a nuanced, modernist take on the classic Truman Show premise. Dan Ericksons recent smash hit preys upon todays greatest fears by twisting them into an unnervingly recognizable monster. In a society ruled by dispensability and transience, Severance dares to ask what happens to those who are not useful.
Fans of Severance have sung its praises since its 2022 debut, but its not the only serialized existential masterpiece. Back in 2014, ABC introduced its own mind-bending mystery. On paper, Resurrection reads like a rainy weekend page-turner. However, its execution elevated the shows premise to near-cinematic heights.
What Was Resurrection?
Aaron Zelman, best known for his work on Criminal Minds and Law & Order, created the television concept for Resurrection. Resurrection is based on The Returned, a 2013 novel by Jason Mott. Two famed composers created Resurrections score. Blake Neely...

House took a massive risk after the shows strong start, and while this could have ruined the series, it ended up saving it. Although Hugh Lauries Gregory House was the heart and soul of the series, House would not have been the show it was without the supporting characters. House was always working with a team of subordinates, all of whom were impressive doctors but still had a lot to learn. The dynamic between House and his team made the series different from other medical dramas, with characters like Cameron, Foreman, and Chase becoming fan favorites.
The first three seasons of House saw the titular doctor mentoring Foreman, Chase, and Cameron as they worked together solving medical cases every week. This simple formula worked greatly, quickly making House into one of the best TV procedurals available at the time. However, by the end of season 3, Houses team had fallen apart.
