Jason Biggs wants a fifth American Pie movie
Jason Biggs wants to make another 'American Pie' movie. The 47-year-old actor is "very proud" of the comedy franchise - in which he played Jim Levenstein - and how it shaped his career, and after the cast last got together for 2012's 'American Pie Reunion', he'd love to reunite on screen with the likes of Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, Tara Reid, Alyson Hannigan, Natasha Lyonne and Eddie Kaye Thomas once again.Asked about being part of a potential 'American Pie 5', he told People magazine: “Of course, of course, I would. I’ve always said I would 100% be down to work with those people again and to play that character again, and you know, it’s one of the best experiences of my life.“I’m very proud of it.“I’m proud that 26 years later people are still talking about it,...

American Pie 2 comes to 4K and American Reunion gets a new Blu-ray release
Image
Good news for American Pie fans. Two sequels from the theatrically released entries will be getting new physical media releases. The bad news is that these particular releases are from a British distributor, and the normal Blu-rays are Region B. However, American Pie 2 will get an Ultra-hd 4K remastering on a region-free Blu-ray so North American consumers can enjoy it as well. According to Blu-ray.com, 88 Films is releasing the first sequel and the last sequel to the 1999 teen virginity comedy. Both Blu-rays are due to hit retailers in June.

The description for American Pie 2 reads,

“The characters you love are back! One year after the prom-night misadventures immortalized in American Pie, the entire gang has reunited for the summer. Now, an innocent-looking beach house will be transformed into the ultimate party-central. Five guys will discover the powerful bonds of friendship… and Super Glue. Five girls will explore the mysteries of love…...

Image
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Jason Biggs may need a new surname following his recent weight loss.

The American Pie star shed 35 pounds.

But losing weight was not, it seems, his actual goal. His focus was on his health.

It turns out that there was one major indulgence that he had to cut back on to meet his goals.

On Tuesday, April 22, Biggs spoke to Page Six about a radical change that he underwent.

Upon discovering a red flag in his health, he adjusted his lifestyle and dropped 35 pounds.

'American Pie' star Jason Biggs is "Unrecognizable" as He Reveals Dramatic Weight Loss
Image
Fans have been shocked by a recent appearance of American Pie star Jason Biggsas he attended the 2025 City Harvest Gala: Carnaval on Tuesday in New York City. Why? Well, many still remember the 46-year-old actor from his American Pie days, and he is almost half the man he was back then – literally after revealing he has lost a huge 40lbs through some good eating and - jokingly - the “stress” of directing his first movie.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Biggs jokingly put down his dramatic change in appearance to working on his upcoming movie, Getaway, which he also stars in with Justin H. Min, Meaghan Rath, Arturo Castro, and Kamilla Kowal. He said:

'A part of it was I directed my first movie. Probably the most stressed I've ever been in my life, professionally anyway. So that contributed a little bit.”

Following this up, Biggs went on to explain...

Kieran Culkin Gets Support from 'Succession' Stars During His Return to Broadway in 'Glengarry Glen Ross'
Image
The star-studded revival of the play Glengarry Glen Ross just had its Broadway opening night and an equally star-studded crowd stepped out to watch the performance.

Kieran Culkin and co-stars Bob Odenkirk and Bill Burr took their opening night bows on Monday evening (March 31) at the Palace Theatre in New York City.

Among the attendees were Kieran‘s Broadway co-stars Sarah Snook, J. Smith-Cameron (with husband Kenneth Lonergan), Dagmara Dominczyk (with husband Patrick Wilson and son Kalin), and Sydney Lemmon.

More stars in attendance included Katie Holmes, Liev Schreiber, Ansel Elgort, and more.

Glengarry Glen Ross is “set in a cutthroat Chicago real estate office where four salespeople compete to sell mostly worthless properties to unwitting customers. Whoever sells the most wins a car; whoever sells the least is out of a job – a ruthless environment where each character will do anything to come out on top.”

'Summer of 69' Review: Chloe Fineman Gives Generation Z the Teen Sex Comedy They Deserve
Image
Teen sex comedies used to be all the rage. Who can forget Jason Biggs ejaculating into an apple pie in American Pie or Michelle Trachtenberg and Travis Westers' "twincest" in EuroTrip? The sub-genre has died down over the years, largely because films like Porky's have aged like milk. Even still, we've seen the sub-genre succeed recently, with films like No Hard Feelings and Bottoms, as well as the hit Netflix series Sex Education.

10 TV Shows That Were Rejected A Shocking Number Of Times Before Becoming Hugely Successful
Image
Some of the best TV shows ever faced multiple rejections before becoming hugely successful. It may be hard to believe, but many were even turned down a shocking number of times. Whether due to budget, a complex story, or a genre that felt too niche, they were considered too risky or too different from what audiences were used to.

However, they eventually found their place among the stars, showing that sometimes the most unexpected ideas can lead to incredible triumphs. In addition to great storytelling, stunning visuals, and all the other elements that make for a great series, the ace up the sleeve these titles had was doing things no one had done before. From HBO's The Sopranos to Netflix's Squid Game, these cases prove that it doesn’t matter how slowly one goes, as long as they don’t stop.

Charles Shyer, Oscar-nominated Private Benjamin writer and Father of the Bride director, dies at 83
Image
Charles Shyer, the writer and director behind some of the most memorable comedies of their eras, has passed away at the age of 83.

Charles Shyer’s first film credit – after penning episodes of The Odd Couple and Happy Days – came with 1977’s Smokey and the Bandit, lending to what would become a fast-paced, quip-filled comedy that would be one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Shyer would garner more industry attention with the following year’s House Calls, sharing a WGA nomination.

He would go on to win a Writers Guild of America Award for Private Benjamin, which found Goldie Hawn as a privileged 20-something who joins the army. Shyer, along with a team that also included frequent collaborator and one-time wife Nancy Meyers, would be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

While Private Benjamin would end up being Charles Shyer’s most defining work (it...

Here Are The Soap Opera Thanskgiving Traditions We Still Miss
Image
Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, food, and favorite traditions. While The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless continue to make new memories for their fans, we’re taking advantage of the holiday to look back on some of the celebrations past from soaps we’ve lost over the years.

Cut It Out

For the last few decades of the show’s run, it wasn’t a Thanksgiving on As the World Turns unless the Snyder family was hunkering down to carve the old Hubbard squash. Enjoy this complete episode from 1994, and your glimpses of the Hughes, Stewart, Snyder, and Walsh families… along with a very young Jason Biggs, long before he got up close and person with an American Pie.

The Martin family was there for the first episode of All My Children, and they were there for the last.

Playing Dr. Phil’s Working Out Pretty Well for Adam Ray
Image
Plenty of comedians develop characters they perform, without breaking, on stage and screen. What separates comics like Diane Morgan (aka Philomena Cunk), Martin Short (aka Jiminy Glick), Tyler Perry (Madea) or the late Bob Einstein (Super Dave Osbourne) from Adam Ray is that the character that got him a Netflix special isn’t exactly a character: it’s the former daytime talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw.

Ray talked with me last week, before his sold-out show at New York’s Beacon Theatre as part of the New York Comedy Festival. Read on to find out how he developed the character; translating it from a Comedy Store show to a Netflix special; and what it’s like playing Dr. Phil with Dr. Phil.

You wear some pretty serious makeup to play Dr. Phil. How involved is the process of putting it on?

It takes about two hours. I've done some...

'Just Like Clerks': Kevin Smith Explains How The 4:30 Movie Relates to His First Film
Image
Kevin Smith's newest movie has arrived in theaters, courtesy of Saban Films. Called The 4:30 Movie, the film is a period piece set in the 1980s that follows a group of young friends sneaking viewings of movies at their local theater, much in the way Smith did himself at that age.

In an interview with Kevin Polowy of Cbr, Smith opened up on the development of The 4:30 Movie. He explained how the plot was partly inspired by Smith's real-life adventures of sneaking in screenings of many movies after only paying for one at the very same theater The 4:30 Movie was shot in. Beyond that personal touch, Smith also shared how the movie was reminiscent of his first feature film, Clerks, as the whole idea stemmed from first establishing a location before then coming up with the story.

The 4:30 Movie Interview: Filmmaker Kevin Smith On How His Passion For The Theater Shaped New Film (Exclusive)

Filmmaker Kevin Smith presents his most personal film to date with The 4:30 Movie, a coming-of-age story - set in the summer of 1986 - that follows three sixteen-year-old friends who spend their Saturdays sneaking into movies at the local cineplex.

When one of the guys invites the girl of his dreams to see an R-rated film, all hilarity breaks loose, as a self-important theater manager (Ken Jeong) and teen rivalries interfere with his best-laid plans. Justin Long, Rosario Dawson, Jason Biggs, and more contribute outrageous characters to this poignant comic valentine to moviegoing and the youth of the '80s.

Shot in Smith's Smodcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, the movie has the same vibe as Clerks and is full of fun nostalgic Easter Eggs and pop culture references. The 4:30 Movie
Image
In another world, The 4:30 Movie might have been named ‘Movierats’. Kevin Smith has long told tales of New Jersey kids simply hanging out, be it at the local shop (Clerks), the local fast-food restaurant (Clerks II), or the local mall (Mallrats). Here, he takes that template and applies it to the local multiplex — what better love-letter to cinema than a film set almost entirely at the cinema? And more specifically, the cinema of Smith’s own youth, which he now owns and operates as Smodcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands, NJ? Disappointingly, for all the promise in the premise, it rarely projects in quite the way you’d hope.

In typical Smith style, this is very much a story from the heart, remixing personal experience in cinematic form — lead character Brian David (a charming and engaging Austin Zajur) is a clear Kevin Smith stand-in, a deeply nerdy kid with a passion for cinema,...

Kevin Smith Talks ‘The 4:30 Movie’s Love Letter To Small-Town Theaters, His “Existential” Streaming Dread And The Journey To Make ‘Mallrats 2’
Image
As Hollywood attempts to keep up with the ever-changing face of streaming, Kevin Smith has gotten into the movie theater business.

The director’s latest film is The 4:30 Movie, which serves as a love letter to small-town cinemas. It came at a time when he was feeling “existential” about being “one more goofy-ass tile to this never-ending wall” of film and television content on streaming platforms.

“I know it’s hard out there. It’s always been hard,” he said. “That’s the one thing I could say. But it’s worth the struggle. It’s worth the fight. Like, it’s worth making that tile, man, because that tile winds up being all the difference in some person’s life you’ll never meet.

“I meet people who tell you wonderful things about movies you’ve made years ago that other people lambast, and they’re like: ‘That’s my favorite movie.

It's a gloriously simple premise for a film that was primarily shot inside a movie theater that Smith owns in real life, meaning the scenes were shot in his old stomping ground.

"Me and [Smith] did a little walking tour of the entire Atlantic Highlands town, and he just took me around, and kind of sort of gave me a play-by-play in my own free time," said Zajur, who plays the heroic lead character Brian. "I would just kind of go hang out at the spots that I knew I was going to film at and would just kind of get...

Friday the 13th slasher icon Jason Voorhees gets a shout-out in Kevin Smith’s The 4:30 Movie
Image
There are some minor Spoilers ahead if you don’t want anything about writer/director Kevin Smith’s new film The 4:30 Movie given away before you see it… but for those of you who would like to weigh whether not these are the sort of spoilers you feel you should avoid, I will say that this only concerns one exchange of dialogue and some of the special thanks seen in the end credits. Now, to get to the point: The 4:30 Movie is in theatres as of today, and since its release date also happens to be a Friday the 13th, I thought it was worth pointing out and celebrating the fact that Jason Voorhees, the iconic star of the Friday the 13th franchise, gets a shout-out in the movie!

Set in the summer of 1986, The 4:30 Movie is a coming-of-age comedy that follows three sixteen-year-old friends who spend...

The 4:30 Movie Review | There's Heart & Humor in Kevin Smith's Ode to Films
Image
"For you, movies make life make sense." Yes, we're talking to you. And fine, maybe it's also a poignant movie quote from The 4:30 Movie, Kevin Smith's new passion project of a feature that hits the masses this week. Sadly, you won't see the charming New Jersey native on the big screen in this one, though Smith is certainly not done starring in movies. A third Jay & Silent Bob film is in the works, and as the hilarious trailer for The 4:30 Movie suggests, there will "probably" be a Clerks IV down the line, which could certainly feature a Silent Bob cameo. Why not?

In the meantime, soak up this innocent delight from Smith's video store-generation mind, for it's a purposeful and confident nod to the '80s and also to Smith's childhood and hometown, where the film is set. Heck, the real-life Smith even owns the cineplex...

‘The 4:30 Movie’ Review: Arrested Development
Image
Jam-packed with his familiar brand of vulgar yet verbose stoner humor and free-flowing riffs on movies—especially his own—the vibes are certainly off the charts in Kevin Smith’s The 4:30 Movie. Set in the summer of 1986, the film chronicles an initially magical day in the life of a Smith stand-in, Brian David (Austin Zajur), after he invites a girl from school, Melody Barnegat (Siena Agudong), to their local movie theater. But a raucous comedy of errors ensues thanks to Brian’s slacker friends, Burny (Nicholas Cirillo) and Belly (Reed Northrup), and a revolving door of local weirdos played by Smith’s Irl famous friends, turning the theater into a lawless asylum.

The 4:30 Movie doesn’t so much find Smith in his wheelhouse as it does in some kind of Synecdoche, New York-style Tower of slacker-movie Babylon. That, though, doesn’t translate to comedy gold, let alone a cohesive film.

Where To Watch The 4:30 Movie: Showtimes & Streaming Status
Image
Kevin Smith returns with a new movie, and the options for where to watch The 4:30 Movie in theaters or on streaming vary. 30 years after his breakout movie Clerks, Kevin Smith is still one of Hollywood's beloved voices as he's developed the View Askewniverse. With a passion for telling stories directly connected to his own experiences with movies, The 4:30 Movie is one of his most personal. The movie is semi-autobiographical and follows a teenage boy as he sneaks into movies and falls in love for the first time.

Although Kevin Smith's movies were never big budget fare with massive box office expectations, his films have become even more niche releases in the years leading up to The 4:30 Movie. This was evident with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot and Clerks III, two titles connected to Smith's biggest movies, receiving limited theatrical releases before being made available at home. The...

10 Controversial Movies That Feel Tame By Today's Standards
Image
Its incredible how much societal attitudes around whats shocking change over time, meaning that once controversial films appear relatively mild in hindsight. This can be the case across genres, as trailblazing comedies, dramas, and horror movies lay the foundations for subsequent movies to push cinematic boundaries into previously uncharted territory. This was why horror movies that once left viewers running from theaters now appear pretty mild compared to today's most shocking media representations.

Some of the most controversial movies of all time can feel pretty mild by todays standards, as filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock and William Friedkin pushed audiences well past their comfort zones with truly subversive films. Other movies tested the limits of tolerance, and once shocking representations of LGBTQ+ characters no longer feel controversial at all. These changes in what constitutes a controversial film highlight just how much society has progressed over the past few decades and signaled positive social and political development.

Gwyneth Paltrow plots a return to the silver screen to star alongside Timothée Chalamet in Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme
Image
After answering the call to defeat Thanos in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, Gwyneth Paltrow stepped away from the Hollywood spotlight to appear in shorts, Netflix’s The Politician series, a voice-acting role in She Said, and a guest voice role in American Horror Stories. While in big screen hibernation, she nurtured Goop, her wellness and lifestyle program. Now, Gwyneth Paltrow is ready to return to cinemas as a featured player in Josh Safdie’s mysterious new film project, Marty Supreme.

The forthcoming film hails from Josh Safdie (Uncut Gems), with the project based on a script he co-wrote with Ronald Bronstein. Initially, watercooler whispers pegged Marty Supreme as a film loosely revolving around a pro ping pong player. However, the latest gossip says it’s a fictionalized original film. Is the project still making moves to tell the story of ping-pong professional Marty Reisman? Your guess is as good as ours.

"The One I Dread The Most": Alyson Hannigan Reveals Which Of Her Movies She Doesn't Want Her Kids To See
Image
Alyson Hannigan doesn't want her kids to watch American Pie, as the franchise contains many sexually explicit moments. The raunchy comedy in American Pie may not be family-friendly, with memorable scenes involving awkward sexual encounters. Hannigan's character Michelle in American Pie has funny moments, but she hopes her kids avoid it until they reach college.

Alyson Hannigan reveals that out of all her films, she doesn't want her children to watch American Pie yet. Directed by Paul Weitz, the 1999 comedy follows Jim (Jason Biggs) and his high school friends, who plan on losing their virginity before prom. Hannigan, known for her role as Willow Rosenberg on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, appeared in the original movie and its sequels, portraying Michelle Flaherty. An enthusiastic band member who is surprisingly knowledgeable about sex, Michelle forms a relationship with Jim and marries him in American Wedding.

During a recent interview with Us Weekly,...

The Booties are coming in Kevin Smith’s The 4:30 Movie
Kevin Smith
The 4:30 Movie is the sixteenth feature film from director Kevin Smith, and a while back the movie not only received an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board, but it also secured a distribution deal with Saban Films that will see it reaching theatres on September 13th. In the trailer that has made its way online (and is embedded above), there’s a moment where we see a construction worker played by Jason Biggs having an intense experience in a port-a-potty… and Smith has revealed what’s going on in that scene. As it turns out, this is a movie-within-the-movie moment, much like the Sister Sugar Walls faux trailer that opens the trailer and the imagery we’ve seen from Astro Blaster and the Beaver-Men, which is the movie the characters are going to see at 4:30. The scene with Jason Biggs in a port-a-potty is from...

Isn’t ‘American Pie’ Star Jason Biggs the Last Person We Want Judging A Baking Competition?
Image
It seems like an obvious rule of thumb that the producers of TV competitions should exclusively hire hosts and judges whom they would trust to be left alone in a room with one of the contestants. I mean , imagine if the organizers of the Westminster Dog Show had Rfk Jr. on their shortlist.

On the recently released Netflix cooking contest series Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, state fair-winning bakers from across the country compete for a $100,000 prize in order to determine which state produces the very best carnival confections in the country. The show is draped in all the family-friendly pageantry of an all-American state fair, so it’s only natural that the producers of Blue Ribbon Baking Championship set out to find a master of ceremonies whose name was synonymous with both America and its most patriotic pastries. That, I’m assuming, is how Netflix settled on hiring American Pie...

Blue Ribbon Baking Championship Review: A Cozy Slice of Americana
Image
Netflix’s “Blue Ribbon Baking Championship” follows a now-familiar format for baking competitions, bringing together talented amateur bakers to compete in challenges and have their creations judged.

The show is set in a rustic barn that aims to recreate the atmosphere of a state fair, with judges Sandra Lee and Bill Yosses, White House pastry chef, and host Jason Biggs. Each episode consists of a “Fast Fair Bake” mini-challenge and a larger “Blue Ribbon Bake.”

While the show provides plenty of enjoyable baking and has a generally pleasant atmosphere, after watching multiple episodes I feel there is room for some improvements. The judging could feel more thorough and constructive at times.

And some challenges seem more focused on recreating fair foods rather than truly testing the bakers’ skills. Overall, though, the show is a pleasant way to spend time and get ideas for baking, even if it does not break new ground in the genre.

Kelly Ripa’s new look has fans asking if she had ‘new Botox’ during her time away on Live
Image
Kelly Ripa has been taking an extended break from her seat on Live with Kelly and Mark.

She has been taking a long time off with her daughter, Lola Consuelos, while Mark Consuelos has been taking care of business on Live.

Fans have been commenting the last two weeks as they tuned in to see Kelly missing again as someone else fills in for her, as reported by Monsters and Critics.

Mark mentioned once that Kelly was off preparing for her prestigious Disney Legend Award but did not explain why Kelly was taking time off.

It is only fair for Kelly to have Mark carry the show for a while; after all, he took extended trips to Italy looking after his Campobasso Fc team while Kelly kept working.

Kelly surfaced at the Disney Legends Awards recently, and from her photos, it appears that she may have had some work done,...

Jason Biggs Marks ‘American Pie’ 25th Anniversary With Netflix Baking Show: “No Pies Harmed”
Image
After 25 years, Jason Biggs took advantage of one of his most memorable roles for some tongue-in-cheek marketing.

The American Pie star, who hosts Netflix‘s Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, joked “there were no pies harmed” while filming the backing competition series, which is “safe for family viewing” and now available on the streamer.

“I’ve really wanted to host something in the food world,” Biggs told USA Today. “Of course, there’s the wink at the camera and the audience with me as a baking show host. And whenever I can’t think of something to say, I always have a pie joke in my back pocket that brings the house down.”

The show’s premiere comes after last month’s milestone anniversary of his breakout role in American Pie (1999), which has long been known for its eponymous scene, in which Biggs’ bumbling teen character Jim fornicates with an apple pie.

The Creator of the J.D. Vance Couch Joke Has Zero Regrets
Image
Even after rumors of a Simpsons-esque dolphin fetish surfaced online, a story about J.D. Vance’s penchant for couch-humping continues to dog the vice presidential candidate. Sure the story is clearly untrue, but nobody seems to mind.

The joke’s longevity has now been further extended by Vance himself, after he made a comment about his wife forcing him to sleep on the couch. It’s unclear how many injuries were sustained by people frantically rushing to their devices to make jokes.

The Vance rumor clearly began as a joke, an easily-debunkable claim on social media that the 2016 book Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis contained a graphic remembrance of the time Vance got intimate with “an inside-out latex glove shoved between two couch cushions.” In retrospect, it’s too bad that we never got to see this scene brought to life by Oscar-winning filmmaker Ron Howard.
