Every Season Of 30 Rock, Ranked
Image
Pound for pound, "30 Rock" is one of the funniest TV shows ever made, and that's not hyperbole. If you've watched the show, you know for a fact that it's packed so densely with jokes that you might find yourself constantly rewinding episodes because you were laughing so hard at something that you completely missed five subsequent sight gags and throwaway lines. The show was created by Tina Fey, who, at that point, was best known for writing and acting on "Saturday Night Live," and ultimately, she and her co-showrunner Robert Carlock were encouraged to take her experience on "SNL" and turn it into the show that became "30 Rock." So, just in case you haven't watched it — or it's been a while — what's the general deal with "30 Rock?"

Well, Fey stars as Liz Lemon, the head writer of a frankly terrible-looking sketch show called "The Girly Show," or...

Amy Poehler, Alex Cooper, and Joe Rogan could contend for the Golden Globes Best Podcast award
Image
Hollywood is still processing the new Golden Globe category for Best Podcast and what it might mean for the industry. While full eligibility requirements will be announced at a later date, one thing is abundantly clear: your friendly neighborhood pods won't be eligible for this award. The organization is only considering "the top 25 podcasts" to qualify for the six nomination slots.

With that number in mind, we've consulted Spotify's list of the most-listened to podcasts in the United States, to try to get a grasp on who might find themselves nominated at the 2026 Golden Globes.

Many of the top content creators are already well-known in the industry, including former Globe host Amy Poehler (Good Hang With Amy Poehler), who won a trophy for Parks and Recreation. On her podcast, the actress enjoys light-hearted chats with high-profile celebrities as they share stories and laughs — no advice allowed.

The award will include both audio and video podcasts and will spotlight work that has made a significant impact over the past year. The 25 most popular podcasts will be eligible, with six finalists to be named. Specific eligibility guidelines are expected in the coming weeks. Among the current top 25 podcasts are SmartLess,...

“All of a sudden the humor was too real”: ‘Arrested Development’ Tried to Change a Few Jokes After Donald Trump’s Most Outrageous Promise
Image
Arrested Development, with its enviable 8.6 rating on IMDb, became one of the most talked-about TV shows of the last two decades, which went on to inspire multiple single-camera comedy series. While its last season might have aired more than six years ago in 2019, the show’s relatability and timelessness still remain unmatched!

Thus, with President Donald Trump back in the White House following a sweeping victory at the 2024 election, the fifth season of Arrested Development feels closer to home. From 2003 to 2019, although episodically, Mitchell Hurwitz’s show managed to capture the imagination of a section of the American audience who remained glued to the screens for its hilarious yet pointed commentary on America’s social, political, and economic climate.

The show, which initially premiered on Fox in 2003, was cancelled after three years in 2006. After a few years, Arrested Development was revived by Netflix as the streaming giant brought its fourth season.

Michael De Luca Teases Two ‘Teen Titans’ Movies for Gunn’s Dcu, Including an Animated One
Image
You might not know that the Teen Titans debuted back in 1964, but the group has become popular only recently, thanks to some amazing comic book titles and the critically acclaimed animated series. We also had the goofy take on the group in Teen Titans Go!, which also became very popular.

The Teen Titans were supposed to join the Dceu at one point, and now that the Dcu has taken over, their inclusion also seems like a sure thing based on the teases we have. Plus, the fans want it, yes.

Now, WB’s Michael De Luca has teased that not one, but two Teen Titans projects are in the works, a live-action one and an animated one!

“I don’t want to bury the lead”: Honest Verdict on David Corenswet’s Superman and James Gunn’s Vision With Dcu After Zack Snyder
Image
David Corenswet has been making waves in the industry ever since he was revealed as the new face of the next Superman. While high praise has been ample for him thanks to his convincing appearance as the different avatars of the Kryptonian superhero, i.e., Clark Kent and Superman, he has gotten as well in spades.

Although it isn’t the first time that an actor is facing huge backlash by the fandom before taking over the role of such a beloved character from their predecessor, the hate against Corenswet was definitely fueled by James Gunn’s drastic decision to replace Cavill with him as DC’s Man of Steel right after his takeover.

Interestingly, though, it seems like Warner Bros. executives had a firm belief in both the actor and the director even when it seemed like the world was going against them.

Warner Bros. Bosses Say James Gunn "Understood The Assignment" With Superman; Talk Involvement With DC Studios
Image
There's a lot of excitement and intrigue surrounding James Gunn's Superman, the movie that will launch DC Studios' Dcu. Fans remain eager for a new trailer (despite recently getting a 5-minute sneak peek and featurette), and it's rumoured to drop later this month.

DC Studios is separate from Warner Bros. in the same way that Marvel Studios largely stands apart from Disney. However, studio heads Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca still have their finger on the pulse, and told SmartLess hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes that they've seen an early cut of the reboot.

"I used to chase James as a producer when he did 'Slither' and started with his low-budget movies," Mike De Luca explained. "He’s really unique and I think DC is in great hands with the two of them."

Warner Bros. Studio heads Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca teased Monday that the early cut they have seen of James Gunn’s “Superman” relaunch assured them that the franchise is in good hands and is worth the wait.

Interviewing together on the “SmartLess” podcast with hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes on Monday’s episode, the longtime studio executives said that Gunn — previously of Marvel fame with “The Guardians of the Galaxy” trio of films — “really understood the assignment” when it came to relaunching a “new version of DC” and its most iconic character.

“I used to chase James as a producer when he did ‘Slither’ and started with his low-budget movies. He’s really unique and I think DC is in great hands with the two of them,” De Luca said of Gunn and his DC Studios co-head Peter Safran. “We’ve seen an early cut of ‘Superman,...

The 15 Worst Things The Joker Has Ever Done
Image
One of the most recognizable and beloved villains in the history of entertainment, the Joker has dominated the criminal underworld of DC Comics since he first appeared during the industry's Golden Age. Whether he's portrayed cartoonishly, as a maniacal mastermind of malice and mischief, or as a disturbingly plausible psychological terrorist, his appearances in "Batman" stories are consistently memorable.

What makes him so distinct is his peculiar way of carrying out his creatively heinous crimes, always with a flair for the dramatic, a smile, and a grim joke. We've gone through his history in comics, film, and television to find the most horrible things various versions of the clown prince have ever done. While we'll be avoiding some severe tonal outliers, our top 15 choices showcase the Joker at his absolute best - which is to say, his very, very worst.

Bradley Cooper directing a rom-com based on John Bishop
Bradley Cooper
Yes, you read the headline right; Bradley Cooper’s next directorial effort is a film based on comedian John Bishop. More on that below.

Bradley Cooper is getting comfortable in the director’s chair again with a rather surprising film. Is This Thing On?, which has just wrapped filming according to Beyond The Joke, is a rom-com inspired by the life and adventures of John Bishop. Comedian Chloe Radcliffe originally revealed the movie was in the works on Richard Herring’s Rhlstp podcast.

Not only is Is This Thing On? directed by Cooper, he’s also co-written the script with Will Arnett, who is also starring in the film as a man who turns to stand-up comedy after his marriage breaks down. Cooper will also play the lead character’s best friend in the movie.

On a recent episode of the SmartLess podcast, Paul Rudd shared the story of an embarrassing theater mishap where he inadvertently flashed an Off-Broadway crowd, which earned snickering from the audience at the time and greatly amusing hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.

In Monday’s episode, Rudd recalled the moment when he realized something was amiss during the 2001 production of “The Shape of Things” with Rachel Weisz.

“I was lying on top of a bed and I was wearing boxer shorts and a T-shirt and all of a sudden — this had never happened before — I heard the audience laughing,” said the actor. “And I’m like, what is going on? I realized it’s because I was lying on the bed and I had my leg up and I realized my balls were hanging out. Which is worse than actually, like even your penis. When it’s just your balls.

“I started drinking again”: 1 Sad Connection Between Will Arnett’s BoJack Horseman and Flaked
Image
BoJack Horseman may be animated, but its impact is deeply human. Over six seasons, the show peeled back the glossy surface of fame and success to reveal something raw, honest, and often heartbreaking. BoJack thus carved out a space in many people’s lives like no other show quite occupied. For Will Arnett, who voiced the iconic character, things hit too close to home.

If one follows his journey closely, they will see, Will Arnett has a habit of making shows that cut a little too close to the bone. Netflix’s Flaked was another one of them, a series where the lines between fiction and real life blurred. Thus, here is where the lines between the two shows connected and how it affected the actor himself behind the mask.

7 hilarious animated comedies that are definitely not for kids
Image
From puppet explosions to talking hot dogs, these are strictly for grown-up eyes.

I just saw “A Minecraft Movie” and it was everything it’s hyped up to be — funny, entertaining, visually gorgeous, and (most importantly) great for kids and adults. It was a blast, and it got me thinking about the best animated comedy movies for adults like me. Usually, I’m not a massive animation fan, but if I’m being honest, many of the best movies I’ve seen in theaters over the last year have been animated. So, it’s time to give animation its due. Here are my top seven animated comedy movies built for adults, ranked.

No. 6: ‘The Lego Movie’

8 Times ‘SNL’ Cast Members Made Weirdly Unexpected Cameos in Music Videos
Image
It’s the Inverse Law of Entertainment: All musicians want to be comedians, and all comedians want to be musicians. Most comics aren’t blessed with musical talent, but some still get a taste by appearing in the videos of their favorite artists. Saturday Night Live cast members, probably thanks to their musical heroes guesting on the show, get more chances than most.

Here are eight times that SNL comedians randomly pop up in music videos by iconic artists…

1 Will Ferrell, Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler

The Beastie Boys’ “Make Some Noise” video is full of comedy cameos, including Seth Rogen, Jack Black, Rashida Jones, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Mary Steenburgen, Ted Danson and David Cross. SNL is well represented as well with Ferrell as the future Ad-Rock, Rudolph as a lady hitting on Danny McBride and Poehler as a sneering bistro patron.

2 Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte Play

Sudeikis and Forte,...

Amy Poehler Surprises Will Arnett on ‘SmartLess’ Podcast, Dives Into Co-Parenting Their Kids After Divorce
Image
Will Arnett, Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman’s “SmartLess” podcast celebrated its 250th episode Monday with a surprise guest appearance – from Arnett’s ex-wife, Amy Poehler.

Poehler, who recently launched her own “Good Hang” podcast, worked with Hayes to keep her appearance on “SmartLess” a secret from both Arnett and Bateman. “It was really easy to hide it. Nobody was asking,” she said. Apparently, only her and Arnett’s youngest son, Abel, figured it out beforehand. “Our youngest saw my schedule on the kitchen table and said, ‘You’re doing ‘SmartLess’? Does Dad know?'” she revealed. “I said, ‘No! Don’t say anything!'”

Throughout the episode, Arnett and Poehler, who married in 2003 before splitting up in 2012 and finalizing their divorce in 2016, discussed what it has been like to co-parent their two sons, Abel and Archie, after separating. “Parenting is a constant, ever-changing thing, right? Somebody said this to...

The 10 Best Animated Batman Movies, Ranked
Image
If you look at a lot of the best films in the superhero genre, a common denominator is Batman. The Caped Crusader's 80+ year legacy makes him one of the comic book heroes most open for interpretation. Different filmmakers have produced widely different, yet equally excellent, Batman movies. 1966's "Batman: The Movie" is a camp classic. "Batman Returns" is a gothic German Expressionist melodrama only Tim Burton could have made. Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" and Matt Reeves' "The Batman" are both fantastic crime dramas with big ideas most superhero movies don't even reach for.

But it'd be a big mistake to leave animation out of this conversation. "Batman: The Animated Series" is generally considered the finest Batman adaptation ever, proof positive the Dark Knight can excel on film no matter the medium. There are also many more animated Batman movies than live-action ones at this point. Many of them...
