Netflix is losing a Top Gun-esque movie starring Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel. While the streaming service is known for original movies and TV shows including Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, Wednesday, Carry-On, and Leave the World Behind, their library is also populated with titles that are licensed from other companies. As these licensing agreements expire or change quite often, every month there are usually quite a few titles either joining or leaving Netflix.

The Top Gun-inspired movie that is departing the platform soon is one of these licensed titles, and it is particularly star-studded. Jamie Foxx is a well known multihyphenate who is a stand-up comedian and musician along with being a decorated actor, having won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 musical biopic Ray. Blu-ray.com has recently reported that the Sylvester Stallone film from Rob Cohen, who directed Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story and The Fast and the Furious, will be getting a new 4K remastered physical media release from the Kino Lorber distributor. In addition to Stallone, the movie co-starred Amy Brenneman, Viggo Mortensen, Dan Hedaya, and Jay O. Sanders. This new ultra-hd version is expected to hit retailers next year on March 11.

James Patterson, author of the original Alex Cross novels, has defended Tyler Perry's portrayal of the character in the 2012 film of the same name, blaming the movie's director for its failure. The movie was adapted from the 2006 novel Cross, the 12th book in the series, and followed the titular detective and psychologist hunting down a serial killer. Alex Cross was critically panned, earning an 11% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. This resulted in the cancellation of a planned sequel and the franchise moving to a new medium, with the recent Cross TV show being the latest adaptation.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Patterson said that Alex Cross' movie format didn't allow it to fully delve into the backstories of important characters from the books, like Samson, who never appeared in the 2012 adaptation. He also blamed director Rob Cohen for the film's failure, claiming he'd continually rewrite the script, leading to the film's bad reception.

Per ScreenRant, the 1997 movie Kiss the Girls is ranking at No. 3 on Netflix's Global Top 10 list, garnering 7.1 million views and 13.7 million viewing hours. Well, I warned you. Kind of. While today’s story is released with Stephen King’s name plastered all over it, at the time of its release The Running Man was under the name of Richard Bachman, who had some dark stories attached to him. I was planning on doing this for a while but with the news that Edgar Wright is going to tackle the story in a new version that hopefully is closer to the book, it makes too much sense to talk about this dystopian horror now. While it’s a stalwart of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s catalogue of action, especially that range from 1987 to 1991, it’s not often looked at as a premiere Stephen King adaptation. It’s not expressly seen as horror but when it gets boiled down, both book and film, it’s horrific what happens in both stories and what’s going on in the worlds of both medias.

The physical media distributor Shout Factory has been announcing quite a bit of cool new 4K releases lately. Most recently, we reported on the all-new 4K Uhd Blu-ray box set on the Bill & Ted Trilogy that includes Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey and Bill & Ted Face the Music. Many fans of Brendan Fraser would love to see the actor revisiting his role from The Mummy for a new legacy sequel. Director Stephen Sommers has addressed the possibility, confirming that he'd love to direct such a film.

Released in 1999, The Mummy was directed by Stephen Sommers. The director returned for the 2001 sequel, The Mummy Returns, though he sat out the third film, 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. That film, which was directed by Rob Cohen, also controversially recast Rachel Weisz's character. Fast-forward to today with the recent rise of legacy sequels, and there's a growing demand for Fraser and Weisz to reunite in a new Mummy film. Speaking with THR, Sommers said he's heard nothing about The Mummy 4 happening, but he would be up for directing just to work with that same cast again.

Backing up Tyrese Gibson’s comments from earlier in the month, director Louis Leterrier has confirmed that the sequel won’t begin filming in January 2025 – which will have an inevitable knock-on effect on its release date.
