French-born pianist and composer Laurant Courbier has won the second International Film Music Competition at the Zurich Film Festival.

Courbier received the Golden Eye prize for best international film music of 2013. The award comes with a prize of $11,000 (CHF10,000).

The other finalists were Aaron Kenny (Australia), Felipe Senna (Brazil), Jan Torkewitz (Germany) and Nathan Stornetta (Switzerland).

Entrants had written a score for Matthew Savage’s short film Reign of Death.

Savage was one the jurors, alongside singer and actor Carlos Leal, band leader Pepe Lienhard, filmmaker Rolf Lyssy, composer and musician Peter Scherer and composer Peter Thomas.

The award ceremony was part of a film music concert in Zurich.

The competition is a collaboration between the Zurich Film Festival and the Forum Filmmusik.

Los Angeles, June 23: Singer Dolly Parton says the secret behind her happy marriage with husband Carl Thomas Dean is that they do not have any children.

"Mutual respect, shared interests and the fact that I stay gone a long time! Not having children together, and not having money problems has probably helped," contactmusic.com quoted the 66-year-old as saying.

"A lot of the pressures that cause couples trouble are just things we never had to go through," she added.

The Queen of Country Music will soon get her life story told on Broadway.

Dolly Parton, the monumentally successful country singer will bring her story to the stage, according to WENN. Parton has won eight Grammys, including a lifetime achievement award, was named as the Entertainer of the Year by the Country Music Association back in 1978, and has been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.

"I'm writing my life story as a musical for Broadway. I probably won't be in it but I'll find a way to introduce it somehow, maybe the older me," she told WENN.

Parton's been on Broadway before: Her 1980 movie, "Nine to Five," went to Broadway in 2009, and was nominated for four Tony Awards. The production only ran from April to September, before closing.

That came off horribly for fans, but especially for the housewife. Cynthia had invested her own money in the club and she was relying on the business to deliver the cash to finish paying off her wedding.
