Before she stole hearts as Jackie Burkhart on That ’70s Show, Mila Kunis had a rough brush with early TV fame, and mind you, it wasn’t pretty. She apparently landed a role in a short-lived series that seemed promising on paper but crashed hard behind the scenes.
Kunis faced some sneaky sabotage that could’ve easily crushed a young actor’s confidence. However, instead of folding, she powered through, and the rest, as we know, is iconic sitcom history. Here’s how that weird detour nearly threw off her rise.

November 22, 1963, is one of the darkest days in the history of America. It was the day when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and the tragedy altered the course of U.S. and world history and changed the American political landscape. His death in Dallas has generated many official investigations as well as serious public debates about the actual events of that day.
The official account that accuses lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald of the assassination still remains in doubt. Even the U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations believed that Kennedy was likely killed as a result of a conspiracy involving multiple shooters. Research documents about the death remain classified decades after the event, leading to constant public curiosity about the JFK assassination.
Many films have been made to explore the assassination through various perspectives, including historical treatments and science fiction alternative narratives. These movies analyze both the Kennedy...

From dubbed actors to jarring edits to terrible image quality, watching films on British TV was a minefield in the 80s and 90s…
Saturday the 5th August was a truly magical day on BBC One. Not just because Dale Winton – assisted by the ever-dependable Terry Nutkins – presented a vintage episode of Pets Win Prizes. Or because Tony Robinson presented Stay Tuned!, a thoroughly charming series about the history of animation.
No, the 5th August was particularly memorable because it featured an unusually early screening of shark attack sequel, Jaws The Revenge. Its 6pm air time was so early, in fact, that the BBC wound up cutting out roughly 10 minutes of its gore and toothsome mayhem to keep it friendly for a pre-watershed audience. Never a long film to begin with (roughly an hour and a half), the Jaws sequel which showed that summer evening ran for just 80 minutes.

Being the child of an iconic artist like David Lynch comes with a lot of pressure, especially if you plan on making movies. Jennifer Lynch's Golden Raspberry-winning erotic thriller Boxing Helena bombed hard at the box office and took a beating from critics who couldn't stomach its outrageous story about a rogue surgeon who removes a woman's limbs. The young director went dark for 15 years after this distressing experience — but she returned with the stunningly original Surveillance, a must-see for fans of mind-bending horror.
Besides having big shoes to fill, Jennifer Lynch was just 19 years old when she began production on the movie that would thrust her into the public eye. Boxing Helena was a big swing in every way, and whether or not she deserved her Razzie for Worst Director, it remains a fascinating example of extreme cinema that could only come from a truly daring filmmaker. 15 years...

"That '70s Show" hasn't stayed quite as culturally ubiquitous as its fellow 90s sitcoms "Seinfeld" or "Friends," but that speaks more to how titanic its competitors were and remain. True to its name, "That '70s Show" was set from 1976-1980 (four years stretched out into twice as many seasons), following a group of six high school-aged friends growing up in Point Place, Wisconsin. The town is fictional, but the show's creators modeled "That '70s Show" and its characters on their real teenage experiences.
Running from 1998 to 2006, "That '70s Show" racked up an even 200-episode run. It's also the reason you know who Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Topher Grace are — with its popularity, a revival was inevitable, especially because by the 2020s, enough time had passed to update the central gimmick.

With future seasons of Sylvester Stallone's popular crime drama Tulsa King confirmed, a show in which he plays the head of a mafia family, we can't help but be reminded of one of the actor's earlier portrayals of a gangster. By 1991, Sylvester Stallone had already starred in five Rocky movies and three Rambo flicks, cementing himself as a bona fide action star who seemed most at home on screen when he was hitting something — or rather, someone. This is part of the reason why it was so shocking when his next project was as the lead role in Oscar, a comedy from one of the great filmmakers of the genre, director John Landis.

Watching an Action film is a surefire way to spark adrenaline: car chases, fight scenes, and big theatrical explosions are all perfectly timed for the heroes to look as cool and powerful as possible. Yet there cannot be a hero if there's no villain. Over the years, audiences have witnessed evil geniuses, disingenuous billionaires, and strong fighters who wreak havoc on unsuspecting cities across the world. Some fade away into oblivion as soon as they are defeated, but others have stood the test of time.
A-list actors have often expressed that playing the bad guy is more fun and challenging. In order to deliver a compelling on-screen villain, it's important to dig into their motivations and discover what makes them tick. When they manage to steal a scene and become the character that audiences are most drawn to, then it's clear they've done their dastardly job well.

Netflix has axed several shows in 2024 and a few are really angering fans!
It can be hard to be a Netflix subscriber. The streamer is home to some fantastic shows, many of which no other network or creator would take a chance on. Sadly, far too often, a great show only lasts one season, with Netflix canceling them for sometimes little rhyme or reason.
2024 was no different, with several shows ending. To be fair, a few weren’t that good, so they likely deserved the axing. Others just were rather forgettable so no big loss. But then there are a few shows that had great critical acclaim and amassed a loyal following, only to be canceled with little warning.
It’s aggravating and worse when some seem to have been given little chance to grow. Here are the shows Netflix has canceled in 2024 that really stick in the craw of...

That ’70s Show might’ve been the ultimate nostalgia trip, but even the most iconic sitcoms have their growing pains. Turns out, those early episodes weren’t as smooth as they looked—at least if you ask Topher Grace. The actor didn’t hold back when pointing fingers at the main cast for a major misstep in the show’s early days. Yep, the gang we’ve come to love had their own chemistry issues before they found that magic groove.

Kurtwood Smith is one of the oldest veterans in the entertainment industry, but he might as well be one of the most underrated ones. Besides portraying Red Forman in That ’70s Show and proceeding to do the same in the spin-off sitcom That ’90s Show, he has also managed to score a one-way ticket in the superhero world, including playing Vernon Masters in MCU’s Agent Carter.

The actor once revealed that Red’s attitude, voice, and even his walk were inspired by someone very personal.

Imagine That ’70s Show without Topher Grace as Eric Foreman—the glue of the gang, the awkward yet lovable nerd we all rooted for. The 1987 film RoboCop wasn't supposed to make over 50 million dollars, spawn two sequels, a toy line, a reboot, or a TV show. It sure as hell wasn't expected to affect cinematic discourse. What happens when you get an art-house director who despises science fiction and action movies; a producer who made a film so controversial it was banned from theaters; a dyslexic actor unable to audition formally; an actress who nobody respected; and no-name writers to write a script that's the joke of Hollywood? A satirical, R-rated, sci-fi-blockbuster masterpiece. The pieces fell into place despite the contradictions, the actors, director, studio, and effects crew venturing down uncharted territory out of pure stubbornness.
On paper, this project was a flop. Director Paul Verhoeven voiced his contempt for the script, threatening to remove all trace of comedy, and throwing tantrums when the crew failed to meet his expectations. Luckily, the film came...

Stephen King is one of the most prolific writers of our time and the second author with many film and television adaptations of his novels, after William Shakespeare. With many titles under his belt, some of his most popular work has been adapted not just once.
On Nov. 12, the 2022 Firestarter will be heading to Peacock. The movie adapts the 1980 sci-fi horror thriller, and it's a remake of the 1984 film starring a young Drew Barrymore. It follows a girl, Charlie, who has the ability of pyrokinesis, and she is on the run from an organization trying to use her power for its own interest. The new adaptation had many famous names, including Zac Efron as the girl's father, but it was not successful.

News that Netflix canceled That 90s Show after its two-season run just dropped recently, but viewers may not have to give up hope that the show could land somewhere else. Per Deadline, producers of That 90s Show, a spinoff of That 70s Show, are contemplating shopping the series to other networks.
Deadline added that moving a show that is a Netflix original to another home can come with many limitations, which can make a traditional TV or cable network the most realistic option. For instance, when One Day at a Time was canceled by Netflix, it moved to the Pop network, which is a similar approach the That 90s Show producers could take.

The only reason That ’90s Show exists on Netflix is because it’s a spinoff of That ’70s Show. The creators launched the original show, which became a massive hit for eight seasons starting in 1998. However, these days, the cast has been plagued with tons of scandals. Is the future of That ’90s Show hanging in the balance based on the issues that have recently surfaced about the cast members of That ’70s Show? These are the details.

That '90s Show, once a hit Netflix sitcom, has been canceled by the streaming service after the conclusion of its second season, and there's a fairly simple reason why. That '90s Show is a sequel to the beloved sitcom That '70s Show. It stars Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), the daughter of Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon), and features some cameos from the rest of the cast of That '70s Show. Despite its cast and its connection to a classic comedy show, however, That '90s Show season 3 was canceled by Netflix.
That '90s Show season 2 was split into two parts, and the second part was released on August 22. That '90s Show season 2 part 2 was originally intended to be released on October 24, but the date was moved up. While that does mean that the show's second season finished before the cancelation, the news puts the fate of That '90s Show season 3 into jeopardy.

Bad news out of Point Place, Wisconsin: Netflix has officially canceled That '90s Show after two seasons. Deadline has confirmed series star and executive producer Kurtwood Smith's announcement of the cancellation, which also mentioned a slight glimmer of hope for fans.
"To steal Red Forman’s words… we aren’t going to be dumbasses… we will shop the show, because good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school," Smith wrote at the end of a lengthy Instagram caption for fans of That '90s Show.
It's unclear where the sitcom will be shopped and how much interest there would be for the series to be purchased elsewhere. That '90s Show saw its viewership continue to decline with the two-part release of season 2 in June and August this summer, as part 2 debuted with only 1.8 million views and part 3 didn't manage to chart in Netflix's weekly top 10 most popular shows ranking.

It looks like the next generation of Forman and friends won’t get to experience Y2K as Netflix has decided not to continue with episodes of That 90s Show. The sitcom was a legacy continuation of the popular Fox series That 70s Show, which ironically started a couple of years after when this last season of That 90s Show takes place. The news of Netflix’s cancellation was confirmed by one of the show’s stars, Kurtwood Smith, who portrays Red Forman, as he posted on his Instagram about the news.
This decision comes after the second season had released its part 3 batch of episodes on the streamer. As it turns out, fans of That 90s Show may not be all alright. After two seasons on Netflix, the That 70s Show sequel did not get picked up for Season 3. The cancellation news is a hard pill to swallow for many reasons. Following Eric (Topher Grace) and Donnas (Laura Prepon) daughter Leia (Callie Haverda), as she spends time at her grandparents Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kittys (Debra Jo Rupp) house, the series had a lot going for it. That 90's Show spent time on Netflixs Top 10 and had few locations. Filmed in front of a live studio audience, most of the activity occurred in the Formans basement or kitchen and would be relatively cheap to film. With a heavy heart, Smith broke the news to fans in an Instagram post.

Ryan Murphy has been at odds with the real Menendez brothers after the debut of the Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Even so, Murphy is teasing that he could be telling more of the brothers' story based on new update on their case.
Per Variety, Murphy is considering an extension of Monsters, teasing that he might make some additional episodes to serve as an epilogue of the season. This is in response to the news that a court hearing has officially been set for Lyle and Erik Menendez concerning the double homicide they carried out against their parents. Reportedly, new evidence has been submitted which may bolster the siblings' claims that they had been sexually assaulted by their father. Murphy is open to including this update as a part of the story, but only if the same actors were to return.

Netflix is not proceeding with more installments of That ’90s Show, Deadline has learned. The news was confirmed on Instagram by star Kurtwood Smith who indicated that the comedy will be shopped elsewhere.
The cancellation comes a little over a month after Part 3 of the That ’70s Show sequel was released Aug. 22. That translates to a two-season run as Netflix releases multi-cam comedies in Parts (aka half-seasons) after their initial run.
The 10-episode first season of That ’90s Show (aka Part 1), which featured appearances by several That ’70s Show stars, including Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Wilmer Valderrama, was followed by a Season 2 renewal for 16 episodes, split into two parts, Part 2 and 3.
The writing was pretty much on the wall after Part 2 debuted on June 27, only cracking the Netflix Top 10 once, in its first full week of release, with 1.8 million views. The streamer then moved up the premiere...

Deep Impact gets a glowing response from VFX artists 26 years after its release. Directed by Mimi Leder, with a script co-written by Bruce Joel Rubin and Michael Tolkin, the 1998 disaster film follows humanity's efforts to prepare for and destroy a 7-mile (11 km) wide comet on a collision course with Earth that could cause a mass extinction. The movie stars Morgan Freeman, Robert Duvall, Ta Leoni, Elijah Wood, Vanessa Redgrave, James Cromwell, Jon Favreau, Mary McCormack, Richard Schiff, Kurtwood Smith, and many more.
During the latest episode of Corridor Crew's "VFX Artists React" series, hosts Sam Gorski, Wren Weichman, and Jordan Allen had a glowing response to the tsunami scene in Deep Impact. Watch the portion of the video below:
Weichman was particularly impressed by the VFX in Deep Impact, noting that despite the film being made in the early days of water simulations, they achieved remarkable results using geometry animation and particle effects.

That '90s Show Part 3 dropped a major clue about Laurie Forman's (Lisa Robin Kelly/Christina Moore) whereabouts and it wasn't very promising. Daughter to Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp), and bane of her brother Eric's (Topher Grace) existence, Laurie was a recurring character throughout That '70s Show and tended to wreak havoc wherever she went. From dating Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and marrying Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) to bullying Eric, Laurie existed mostly as an antagonist in That '70s Show.

Apple TVs Severance is the perfect blend of mystery, psychology, and suspense. In some respects, its a nuanced, modernist take on the classic Truman Show premise. Dan Ericksons recent smash hit preys upon todays greatest fears by twisting them into an unnervingly recognizable monster. In a society ruled by dispensability and transience, Severance dares to ask what happens to those who are not useful.
Fans of Severance have sung its praises since its 2022 debut, but its not the only serialized existential masterpiece. Back in 2014, ABC introduced its own mind-bending mystery. On paper, Resurrection reads like a rainy weekend page-turner. However, its execution elevated the shows premise to near-cinematic heights.
What Was Resurrection?
Aaron Zelman, best known for his work on Criminal Minds and Law & Order, created the television concept for Resurrection. Resurrection is based on The Returned, a 2013 novel by Jason Mott. Two famed composers created Resurrections score. Blake Neely...

RoboCop is making his way to streaming, and the new TV series has found some heavy-hitting talent to guide it. Released in 1987 and directed by Paul Verhoeven, RoboCop was a dark satire about police officer Alex Murphy being revived after a gruesome murder by megacorporation Omni Consumer Products (Ocp) as the titular RoboCop. The film spawned a successful franchise that included two sequels, a 2014 reboot, several television series, video games, comics, and toys. A pop culture staple, it was only a matter of time before the character returned.
Variety reports that a new RoboCop series for Prime Video is being developed at Amazon. Peter Ocko will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Orcko is a veteran writer with a long history in television, having worked on series like Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, The Office, and Boston Legal.
