If you had been one of the two other shoppers browsing the trinkets at the empty Sherman Oaks Antique Mall in early April, you probably would have seen a couple who looked like they’d time traveled from the Renaissance era. They were staring at a two-headed taxidermied rodent with a cowboy hat and a hamster posing with a skateboard and a helmet.
“How do you ethically source a two-headed rat?” asks Lance Shipp, reading a disclaimer above the dressed-up dead animals. “They can’t be real, right?” he says,...

Who knows you more than a child, ay? And yet not even Prince William – son and heir to King Charles – was able to predict what songs the old man would include in his newly launched playlist.
King pa who? This monarch seemingly loves to jam out like the rest of us. Huh. Who’d have thought. Not William that’s for sure.
Prince William Opens Up About His Father’s Taste In Music During Mentivity House Visit
Have you listened to the songs on King Charles’ Apple Music playlist, titled The King’s Music Room?
Well, if you have maybe your opinions about the monarch’s taste in music may reflect William’s.
It’s not a new thing that William could totally charm any room he’s in, and it was no different during his Mentivity House visit, where he got to play video games with some young people.

Despite rumors that the movie had been shelved, we recently got word that Legendary and Capcom's planned live-action Street Fighter reboot would be moving forward with Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip) at the helm, and it seems the casting process has now begun.
According to the increasingly reliable Nexus Point News, Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo are in talks to play the co-lead roles of Ryu and Ken, respectively.
Koji starred in the recently cancelled Warrior Cinemax series and also played Storm Shadow in the G.I. Joe Snake Eyes movie. Centineo, who was originally set to play He-Man before the Masters of the Universe movie was revamped, has appeared in the likes of To All The Boys and The Recruit.
Though numerous characters have been introduced over the years, Ryu and his best friend turned bitter rival Ken Masters have remained at the forefront of the Street Fighter video game franchise.

Jack Rooke has seen at least two U.S. producers reduced to tears in the middle of meetings.
Best known for the BAFTA-winning “Big Boys” — his acclaimed semi-autobiographical sitcom that straddles both out-and-out hilarity and serious matters such a grief, loss, sexuality and mental health — the British comedian and writer has been visiting L.A. and doing the standard tour of networks and production companies that most creatives make when they hit a certain level of success.
Following the unlikely yet uplifting friendship of recently out and (very) sexually inexperienced freshman Jack (Dylan Llewellyn) and horny, straight, mature student Danny (Jon Pointing), “Big Boys” is awash in gags, jokes and one-line zingers. In the second season, Jack gets poked in the eye by a penis after looking through a hole in a toilet cubicle.

Over the past few weeks, Dua Lipa has been covering signature hits by local artists during the Oceania leg of her “Radical Optimism Tour.” On Wednesday, she continued the tradition by taking on Lorde’s “Royals” in Auckland, New Zealand. Watch a fan-shot video of the cover below.
Performing at Spark Arena, the pop star didn’t stray far from the original while clad in her now trademark fuzzy white scarf and swaying to the song’s slinky bassline — but that’s hardly a bad thing. Released in 2013 as Lorde’s debut single, “Royals” topped the charts globally and made the Kiwi an instant star at the age of 16.

Some exciting new movies and a top show are emerging as the most viewed lists for the past week on Tudum are updated, as the flow of new content to Netflix means there’s plenty of content you should be checking out.
There are three new entries on the movies list, including a tough-to-watch documentary film. Emmy-Award winning costume designer Lyn Paolo is no stranger to working in the fictionalized world of the White House. With her work already featured in Shondaland’s Scandal and The West Wing, the veteran designer knows her way around a series’ Oval office. However, Paul William Davies‘ The Residence proved to present a new, unique challenge for the designer.
“As a costume designer, I will say that it was a really fun jigsaw puzzle, because you have all these elements, all these people, but then you have all the [White House] rooms,” Paolo tells The Hollywood Reporter.
In the series, Uzo Aduba and Randall Park are a detective duo enlisted to solve the murder of chief usher A.B. Wynter, who is killed during the most chaotic night for staff: the White House State Dinner. Following the exit of the Philippou Brothers (Talk to Me) as directors in June 2024, despite Sony reserving Mar. 20, 2026 as a release date, news surrounding the film adaptation of Street Fighter went quiet. Then, in Feb. 2025, a new director was announced — Kitao Sakurai. It was a bold and exciting update and one which has now been trampled upon with the news that Sony Pictures has completely pulled Street Fighter from its release calendar for now, removing it from that 2026 release date. Sorry, Street Fighter fans. K.O. indeed.
It was back in April 2023 that Legendary announced they had acquired the film rights to Street Fighter, a series of games that has sold over 55 million copies globally. Soon after, twin Australian filmmakers, Danny and Michael Philippou, were in talks to direct, a move that was inspiring to say the least. In a series of changes to its slate of upcoming films, Sony has removed Legendary’s “Street Fighter” film adaptation, originally set for a March 20, 2026 debut, from its release calendar and shifted Tommy Wirkola’s shark thriller “Beneath the Storm,” now titled “Shiver,” from August 2025 to July 2026.
“Street Fighter” will be co-produced and developed by Capcom, the Japanese videogame developer who launched the original franchise in 1987, and Legendary, who scooped up the TV and film rights for the prolific game series in 2023. Further details about the film, such as plot, cast, director and writer, are all currently unknown.
If eventually rescheduled, this wouldn’t be the first time “Street Fighter” made its way to theaters. Universal produced a big screen adaptation of the game in 1994, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, Ming-Na Wen and Raul Julia. In 2009, 20th Century Fox released its own spin on the franchise with “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li...

American mystery writer Mary Roberts Rinehart once said, “The mystery story is two stories in one: the story of what happened and the story of what appeared to happen.” This is very much the case for all mysteries — but throw in chaos with an unreliable ensemble of characters as things go haywire, and you have the recipe for Netflix’s new whodunit series The Residence.
Throughout The Residence‘s eight episodes — from Shondaland and former Scandal writer-producer Paul William Davies — Uzo Aduba and Randall Park are the detective duo attempting to differentiate between what appeared to have happened and the underlying truths. Together, they aim to find the culprit of a murder that occurred during the White House State Dinner. Aduba leads the ensemble cast as Cordelia Cupp, a consulting detective for the Metropolitan Police Department enlisted to help with solving the murder of White House chief usher A.B.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains major spoilers from “The Residence,” now streaming on Netflix.
Before writing a single word of Netflix’s latest murder mystery “The Residence,” creator Paul William Davies knew exactly who the killer and the victim would be.
Over the course of eight episodes, the new screwball whodunit series — inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s non-fiction book “The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House” — unraveled the mystery surrounding the demise of White House Chief Usher A.B. Wynter on the night of an Australian state dinner at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
After conducting a whirlwind investigation on the night of the murder, during which she interviewed 157 suspects and potential witnesses to the crime and its attempted cover-up, Detective Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba) returns to the White House, where she gives all of her remaining persons of interest a tour of the house while explaining the many...

The new Shondaland murder mystery series “The Residence” shares some DNA with another Netflix whodunit: Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” film.
“It resuscitated the genre,” showrunner Paul William Davies told Variety at “The Residence” premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, revealing that Johnson’s film was a “hugely important” guidepost for his show in the way that it drew inspiration from 1970s whodunits.

“The Residence” is about a complicated and twist-heavy murder mystery, but it’s the detective at the center of the investigation who steals the Netflix show.
Cordelia Cupp, a consulting detective for the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department comes into the White House to investigate the murder of its chief usher. Comedy standouts like Jason Lee and Ken Marino, and TV character actors like Susan Kelechi Watson and Giancarlo Esposito also impress in various roles as the staffers and guests at a state dinner for Australia, where Kylie Minogue and (kinda) Hugh Jackman were in attendance.
But Uzo Aduba’s Cordelia captures everyone’s attention the second we first see her taking a moment to do some birding in the South Lawn of the White House before diving into her latest mystery — as the men upstairs, all leading various security organizations of the government, muse about her being the “best detective in the world.

The cliffhanger at the end of The Residence episode 4 revealed that someone calling from the hotel across the street wanted to speak with Cordelia. In episode 5, when she, Edwin, and Trask arrive at the hotel, Cordelia's met with a young boy named Vusi (Jeremiah Felder), who has been watching the White House with binoculars.
His parents are sleeping in the other room and they were supposed to get a tour of the White House, but the tour was canceled. Their relocation to a new hotel in D.C. allowed for Vusi to have a view of the White House instead. He's been watching the White House from his window all night and tells Cordelia that he saw a flashing red light coming from room 301. Edwin and Trask debunk what Vusi saw as the reflection of brake lights, but...

How’s this for a twist: the biggest name in the sprawling cast of Netflix’s The Residence… isn’t actually in the cast at all.
Now streaming, the eight-episode Shondaland comedy chronicles a murder investigation at the White House in the middle of a state dinner. To be clear, this isn’t just any state dinner — it’s a crucial gathering meant to repair the United States’ rocky relationship with, of all places, Australia.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “The Residence.”
“The Residence” follows a murder investigation after a body is found at the White House in the middle of a state dinner with Australia — an event that brings at least two big stars from down under into the proceedings.
Pop star Kylie Minogue plays a key role in the drama that unfolds on the Netflix whodunnit. White House chief usher A.B. Wynter (Giancarlo Esposito) is found dead as the “Padam Padam” singer performed for the guests. She was originally attending the dinner as a guest, but the staff recruited her to sing at the last minute after Harry Styles backed out. She agreed with the condition that they allow her to spend the night in the iconic Lincoln bedroom.
As detective Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba) investigates the crime, her eyes are even set on Minogue — when her insistence on staying in...

Move over, Benoit Blanc. Netflix has a new detective in town. Uzo Aduba stars as Cordelia Cupp on The Residence, the streamer's new whodunit, all eight episodes of which dropped on Thursday. But is this murder mystery a killer one?
As of Thursday afternoon, The Residence has a generally favorable score of 66 on Metacritic based on 20 reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, it's 81 percent fresh based on 16 reviews.
"Although there is an ensemble vibe, it remains Aduba's show, and rightfully so. She is a magnetic presence and The Residence takes full advantage of that," writes The Guardian's Lucy Mangan. "This is not television that is going to change the world, but it is going to give you eight hours of fantastic escape. Enjoy."
"'Fun' is absolutely the watchword of this comic thriller," says Rolling Stone's Alan Sepinwall.

In The Residence, we meet Detective Cornelia Cupp after the Chief Usher of the White House is found dead during a state dinner. The case begins as a hush-hush thing on the top floors of the White House before Cupp claims it’s a murder mystery, and everyone who came to the dinner must stay back. This includes Australian delegates, the Pm of Australia, Hugh Jackman, and Kylie Minogue. Then we spiral into a world of conspiracy and staff interviews, which later get evaluated in a public Congressional hearing so that Senator Bix can have a good time. You know, if you trust your instincts, you may be able to solve the case pretty early on, but that’s not what everyone really cares about. Sometimes it’s about the process, and that’s exactly what The Residence gives us. 8 deliberate episodes of waiting until we finally have the real answer.

Some things are universally true, like Newton’s Universal Law of Gravitation or the fact that water is wet. Also true: TV viewers love a murder mystery.
There’s a reason, after all, that there are so many of them on TV at any given time, from long-running procedurals like “Law & Order” to soapy dramas like “Pretty Little Liars” to dark and prestigious limited series like “True Detective.” TV viewers even like ‘em funny, like the recent “Matlock” reboot, “Only Murders In The Building” or Kaitlin Olson’s hit “High Potential.”
You have to think that’s why Netflix and Shondaland teamed up once again to make “The Residence,” its new 8-episode whodunnit set (of all places) in the White House. With a bang-up ensemble cast that includes everyone from Randall Park to Bronson Pinchot to Kylie Minogue, and a series of twists and turns that practically requires a binge-watch,...

After Cordelia's discovery at the end of episode 1 that Australian Foreign Minister David Rylance (Brett Tucker) was wearing A.B.'s shirt and could have something to do with A.B.'s murder, The Residence episode 2 offers some context. White House chef Marvella (Mare Wiseman) got into an argument with A.B. over Rylance being in the kitchen and not being able to use flames for her wagyu dinner. Pastry chef Didier Gotthard (Bronson Pinchot) also took fault with A.B.'s no-flames proclamation.
But it's Marvella who screams and threatens to kill A.B. if he gets in her way again. Didier holds a glass over A.B.'s head like he's going to smash him with it, but he retracts. Clearly, A.B. had some enemies in the White House kitchen! As he tells Cordelia,...

Like a game of Clue played in America’s most famous D.C. domicile, Netflix’s The Residence is basically Knives Out in the White House. A fluffy confection from Shonda Rhimes‘ company, this whimsical eight-part comedy-mystery is a slapstick Scandal that’s intentionally funny. In classic whodunit tradition, everyone above and downstairs is a suspect when the White House’s demanding chief usher (Giancarlo Esposito) is found dead in a room of the private residence during a ritzy state dinner for the Australian prime minister. The bigger puzzle may be the famed detective brought in to solve the case: consulting investigator Cordelia Cupp (Orange Is the New Black Emmy winner Uzo Aduba), who confounds everyone from the mighty and powerful to the lowliest minion with her peculiar methods. Though she’...

Late in the new Netflix limited series The Residence, a character complains, “People like a murder mystery! They think they’re fun!” After a beat, though, he can’t help but admit, “And it is fun.”
“Fun” is absolutely the watchword of this comic thriller, created by Paul William Davies and produced by Shonda Rhimes, which cross-pollinates Davies and Rhimes’ work on Scandal with the DNA of lots of classic whodunits, from Miss Marple all the way through to the Benoit Blanc/Knives Out trilogy. In Shondaland’s latest Netflix series, “The Residence,” created by Paul William Davies and inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book “The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House,” viewers get a bird’s eye view (pun intended) of the inner workings of one of America’s most enduring institutions. Every day, hundreds of people labor behind the scenes to ensure everything from major events to the president’s living quarters are seamlessly attended to. A hilarious, eclectic and often bizarre murder mystery, “The Residence” is the closest thing to a comedy that executive producer Shonda Rhimes has ever done. The show is an overwhelming 1000-piece puzzle that eventually comes together should audiences have the patience to stick it out.

When Jennifer Euston was casting Orange Is the New Black, it stands to reason that she was selecting interesting performers first and, given the show’s evocative opening credits, interesting faces second. But somewhere on the opening page of criteria, there must have been a listing that read: “Must also be capable of fronting a Columbo-esque mystery procedural.”
In the case of Kate Mulgrew, she’d already starred in the iconic spinoff series, Mrs. Columbo.
Natasha Lyonne is weeks away from the return of her Emmy-nominated turn as human lie detector Charlie Cale in Peacock’s Poker Face.
New to the murder-solving fray is Uzo Aduba, exceptionally eccentric in Netflix’s new Shondaland-produced The Residence. The show is the latest entry in both the burgeoning Orange Is the New Forensic Investigation genre and the even more burgeoning The World’s Greatest Detective Is a Weirdo genre.

Kate Middleton joined her husband, Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester yesterday for the annual Commonwealth Day Services.
This Year’s Commonwealth Day Marked The 80th Anniversary Of The End Of World War II
The commemorations marked the 80th centenary of the ending of the Second World War and it was a celebration of the Family of Nations, which is how the Commonwealth is often described.
It was the first time the Princess of Wales attended the event since her cancer treatment. Kate looked radiant and dignified as usual as she walked with William. She was wearing a bold red Catherine Walker Beau Tie coat dress, which featured a fashionable bow.
Her jewelry was also notable as she accessorized with pearl earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. She also wore the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Japanese pearl choker.
