What's the connection between Star Trek and Happy Days? There are several: Anson Williams, who played Potsie on Happy Days, later directed two episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and four episodes of Voyager. Don Most, who played Ralph Malph on Happy Days, guest-starred in a Voyager two-parter.
Also, though it cannot be 10,000% proven, it's thought that Robin Williams' Mork costume, which he first wore during a guest appearance on Happy Days, and then later on Mork & Mindy, was created using the costume that Phillip Pine wore during his guest spot as Col. Green in Star Trek: The Original Series episode "The Savage Curtain." And, as many Star Trek: The Next Generation fans know, Robin Williams -- a major Trek fan -- almost guest-starred on The Next Generation.
Delving into more detail, Anson Williams directed more than 150 episodes of nearly 40 different shows, as well as several made-for-television movies.

The latest episode of The Hunting Party saw Bex (Melissa Roxburgh), Oliver (Nick Wechsler), and Hassani (Patrick Sabongui) investigate the silo that was breached before the blast at the Pit. There, they find the aftermath of a massacre (bodies were removed), with blood stains all over a board room of sorts — with a window into a room where the inmates appear to have been taken to be experimented on for others to witness. Meanwhile, Shane (Josh McKenzie) has been pretending to be the son of a Pit scientist, Dr. Dulles (Matt Frewer), to visit him at a senior living facility, only for his real daughter to enter the picture. The Hunting Party has used some talented guest stars as their serial killers.
We’ve landed a massive one for The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 6. The spoilers indicate that David Ramsey will portray Arlo Brandt, a hoarder turned serial killer.
This will be exciting since it will reunite Arrowverse actors David Ramsey and Patrick Sabongui, who worked on The Flash as John Diggle and Captain Singh, respectively.
(David Astorga/NBC)
John Diggle was mainly a hero, so seeing Ramsey portray a serial killer will be intriguing. We hope more of his fans will tune in for this one.
Additionally, since Hassani and Bex learned about Silo 12’s existence, they will likely poke Oliver for more information.

In November of 1994, Marvel Comics launched an X-Men title to feature an almost all-brand-new crop of teen characters called, collectively, Generation X. The team consisted of the established X-Woman Jubilee, joined by striking superpowered high-schoolers like Chamber, Husk, Skin, Mondo, M, and Synch. The team was overseen by Banshee and the White Queen, and their adventures aimed to be hipper and edgier -- in that MTV sort of way -- than those of their adult counterparts.
"Generation X" was a modest hit with comics readers, but not enough to stick around indefinitely. The series ended after three years and 75 issues. The characters, however, were perfect fodder for a "young 'n' hip" version of the X-Men, a fact that TV producers at Fox latched onto. In 1996, Fox executive producer Eric Blakeney, one of the writers of "21 Jump Street," felt he could take his previous show's "teens as undercover law enforcers" shtick,...

Exclusive: QC Entertainment, the company behind Get Out and BlacKkKlansman, has completed the Victoria, BC shoot on horror film The Casket Girls with four major additions to the cast: Mike Colter (Evil), Raúl Castillo (Smile 2), Matt Frewer (Perry Mason), and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!).
As previously announced, Gabrielle Union leads the ensemble. Lennon also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Robert Ben Garant, his partner on Night at the Museum and numerous other projects, with revisions by Keith Cooper (Anything for Jackson) & Justin Dyck (Anything for Jackson), who directed the film.
The Casket Girls is inspired by true events involving a group of young women sent from France to New Orleans to become brides to French colonists in the early 1700s. They arrived with small chests, or “caskets” of their belongings, hence the name given by locals. According to legend, upon the girls’ arrival, the homicide rate in New Orleans rose dramatically,...

Stephen King is one of the most prolific and influential authors of all time, and the authority on the horror and sci-fi genre. His books have been adapted into countless films and television projects, some of them even more than once.
Many iconic filmmakers have attempted to adapt King's works, and some of them were successful, like frequent collaborator Mike Flanagan, and others were not on King's favorite list due to the many changes to their material. One horror veteran auteur who hasn't attempted to adapt one of King's works is James Wan, famous for works like Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring. In a new appearance on The Kingcast, Wan revealed that the "only" novel for him to adapt is one of King's most ambitious works: The Stand.

Stephen King is such an influential and irreplaceable literary force that even those who've never read his books still know of his name. This is thanks to the countless films and TV series based on his books. Much like King's own works, these adaptations varied greatly in terms of quality. Some went on to become pop culture legends, while others are fun guilty pleasures.
But regardless of their quality, not all these films and series can count as "good" adaptations due to how much they changed from King's original book. In fact, the only thing that some of these adaptations retained from King's novel was the title. It's no surprise that some of King's more devoted fans hated these controversial changes so much that they dismissed these films and series entirely.

Not all anime love interests are dramatic tsunderes or stoic knights in shining armor. Sometimes a male character's unique sense of humor sets him apart to his love interest and to the audience. These characters are creative individuals with eccentric ways of thinking and conducting themselves.
Sometimes, on paper, a character seems like a terrible love interest, but there's something about them and the way they're written that makes them special. Conventional beauty and charm can be nice in a well-written character, but the more eccentric and goofy characters are truly engaging. Quirky love interests go against the grain, they are flawed, and that's what makes them refreshing and endearing.

While there are a lot of Disney characters who easily stand out on their own, there are some iconic Disney duos that show how much fun a pair can be. Disney has always loved exploring friendship in their animated movies and they have done so successfully since the beginning of their run. However, even in their long history, some Disney duos rise above the rest and showcase those truly special pairings that have delivered laughs, heartbreak, and charm to audiences over the years.
Including all the Pixar movies alongside the animated Disney roster, there are a lot of notable pairs to choose from. There are some friends who clearly go back a long way, like Mike and Sully in Monsters Inc. Some start out with a lot of tension only to find common ground, like Moana and Maui. Disney villains can be a divisive topic of conversation. Obviously, the heroes are there for viewers to get on side with and support in whatever journey they're undertaking. However, particularly in more recent times, fans have become more inclined to see things from a villain's point of view, as well as enjoy what they're like.
A lot of villains behave unforgivably, but it's not what they do that can make them hard to hate; it's their personalities. Some are funny, while others deliver energy that livens up the movie and encourages fans to look forward to seeing them on the screen. They're crucial to any good animation, so much so that fans can't always despise them.

The horror genre, particularly in a miniseries format, continues to rise in popularity year after year. The best of these produce jaw-dropping and heart-pounding moments that are hard to match with other genres. Rather than a traditional film, where the build-up, middle, and climax have to play out in a brisk feature-length time, in a series, there are no such constraints. This allows creators and directors time to let their storyline develop fully. This freedom allows the intense payoffs of intricate, layered stories, character development, and horrifying elements that make the best of these horror shows so unforgettable.

Many iconic DC villains graced the screen in Batman: The Animated Series, but there were also numerous villains left on the cutting room floor. Some were deemed too dark, others simply didnt fit the tone of the DC show, and a few were outright vetoed by the studio. However, creators Bruce Timm and Paul Dini have revealed fascinating behind-the-scenes details about these unused characters. Theyve also speculated on who would have voiced them if they had made it into the series.
The creative team behind Batman: The Animated Series included Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and a stellar roster of writers and directors who redefined the Dark Knights rogues' gallery for Batman: Tas. Timm and Dini, in particular, often share behind-the-scenes tidbits through interviews and fan sites like The Worlds Finest. Theyve revealed details about villains who almost appeared on the show, how likely their inclusion was, and the actors they envisioned for these roles.

The cast of Supernatural has contributed to the shows popularity over the years, as each episode introduces a bunch of new characters that Sam and Dean Winchester must investigate. With Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins becoming most known in their acting careers for forming the main part of Supernaturals cast for over a decade, it is not surprising that other actors have risen to fame for simply appearing on the show. For example, Alden Ehrenreichs first role was in Supernatural season 1, before he appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018.

Thus, a lot of sequels and spin-offs were released direct-to-video. Although these films are wrongly accused of being flops, Disney proves that sometimes, these movies are much better than the original.

You know how sometimes certain stories just don’t need to be adapted? Some things are better left to the imagination, where the absurd or the grotesque can play out without limitations. I’m sure you can rattle off a few examples right now. Go ahead. We’ll wait. There’s a delicate balance when it comes to adaptations. It’s not just about bringing the story to life—it’s about keeping its essence intact. And while The Body Politic and Chattery Teeth both have their strengths, some things just work better on paper. Mick Garris definitely had opinions about how this particular adaptation played out, especially after the order got flipped for the release. One of these stories works just fine. The other? Well, you’ll see. Quicksilver Highway having just two stories feels a little odd, until you find out they were hoping it would spin off into a series.

A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin took to his Not A Blog this week with more updates, and as is mandated by the old gods and the new, we are here to discuss them. Last week Martin published a post announcing that he'd returned from his month-long trip to Europe, where he visited the set of the Game of Thrones spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms in Belfast, attended the World Science Fiction Convention in Glasgow, and more. He also said that he would soon be airing some grievances about House of the Dragon season 2 in the near future.
This blog post, titled "September Morn," doesn't get into the nitty-gritty for House of the Dragon. Instead it's a much more cheerful update, all about the short films Martin has been producing based on the works of author Howard Waldrop. One of them, Mary-Margaret Road Grader,...

Moranis's rise to fame through comedy films like Ghostbusters and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids made him a household name in the '80s. After taking a long hiatus from live-action acting to focus on family and his children, Moranis is being wooed for a potential comeback. Despite his reluctance to return to the spotlight, Moranis may be persuaded to reprise iconic roles in reboots like Honey or Spaceballs.
Rick Moranis was part of a lineage of Canadian talent that funneled through comedy radio and Sctv, first gaining widespread attention in America for his role in Strange Brew in 1983. Just a year later, he leveled up, playing Louis Tully in the paranormal comedy Ghostbusters, which became a smash hit and helped make Moranis a movie star. Further supporting roles in hilarious films like Spaceballs and Parenthood galvanized his star before he wound up leading the family adventure comedy Honey, I Shrunk the Kids...

Steven Spielberg has delivered some of the most memorable blockbusters of the ‘80s and the ‘90s and redefined the concept of a summer hit. The Oscar-winning filmmaker is known for his critically acclaimed and audience-friendly films like E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Indiana Jones, and more.
However, he had one of his worst-rated works with the Robin Williams starrer Hook. While the film has received a cult following in recent years, it was not appreciated by audiences at the time. It also stopped Robin Williams from playing a role in Star Trek: The Next Generation, of which he was reportedly a fan.

1992’s The Lawnmower Man and 1995’s Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace are making their UK Blu-ray debuts.
Here’s an intriguing pair of 1990s features, that are being bundled together for their first ever appearance on Blu-ray in the UK. 1992’s The Lawnmower Man and its sequel, 1995’s Lawnmower Man: Beyond Cyberspace are both arriving in a new double pack.
The 1992 original in particular was really rather groundbreaking. Notwithstanding the fact that it was the film Stephen King went to court to get his name taken off (when he realised how little the resultant movie had to do with the book it was supposedly based on), The Lawnmower Man was also the first big screen virtual reality movie. Not in an interactive sense, more in a strange shapes getting fruity with each other sense. It was quite a big screen experience too.
Brett Leonard directed, with Pierce Brosnan and Jeff Fahey starring.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) is famed for his ability to deliver a moving speech on Star Trek: The Next Generation and that trend continued in Star Trek: Picard. Trained as a Shakespearian actor, it should come as no surprise that Sir Patrick Stewart delivered Picard's speeches with such gravitas. These speeches not only provided advice and inspiration to the characters in the show but have also come to mean a great deal to many fans. Captain Picard's skills in diplomacy and his ability to persuade people and defuse tense situations were often enhanced with a well-delivered monologue.
Captain Picard delivered a lot of memorable lines and dialogue throughout Star Trek: The Next Generation but nothing could compare to when he delivered a particularly passionate speech. Picard almost always turned to words as his first response when dealing with a conflict, and while his enemies did not always listen, it...

I think 1991 shaped my life before I even realized it did. Aeon Flux, Pete & Pete, Clarissa Explains It All, Liquid Television, The Addams Family, People Under the Stairs, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, and of course, Eerie, Indiana.
All those shows and movies I just mentioned, I can still enjoy just the same as I did then. A few of them actually get repeat viewings throughout the year. There was something cool about these shows made for kids and teens around this time– they weren’t dumbing it down. The success of Stephen King's novels and short stories has led to a number of TV and film adaptations, and they have built a list of frequent collaborators in the Stephen King universe.

The 1980s pop culture phenomenon Max Headroom is getting a reboot at AMC. Original star Matt Frewer will reprise his role as the world’s first artificial intelligence TV personality, with Halt and Catch Fire co-creator Christopher Cantwell serving as writer and showrunner. The reboot will be produced by Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah’s SpectreVision and All3Media, according to Deadline. The character was first seen in the TV movie Max Headroom: 20 Minutes in the Future, which was then developed into a TV series in the United States. Max was known for biting commentary on topical issues, his arrogant wit, stuttering, and a pitch-shifting voice. The character was advertised as “computer-generated,” but it was Frewer playing him with the help of creative costumes, lighting, and editing effects. After shooting into popularity with the TV movie, the character appeared in commercials, hosted a music-video show, was referenced across many shows and...

If you thought the matrix was glitching before, wait’ll Max Headroom is back onscreen.
The 1980s pseudo-artificial-intelligence talking head is in development as a drama series at AMC, TheWrap has confirmed. Matt Frewer, who has portrayed the glitchy video jockey (and his human counterpart Edison Carter) since 1985, will re-render the role.
Christopher Cantwell, co-creator of the AMC computer drama “Halt and Catch Fire,” is writing and attached as showrunner, according to Deadline, which first reported the news. Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah are producing via SpectreVision and All3Media.
Between the quantum leaps in VFX and modern de-aging techniques, bringing Max Headroom back to life – even with a 64-year-old Frewer – will be the easy part. More challenging: constructing a narrative around a character who is immensely well-known and popular, but for years has bounced from medium to medium without really landing a major hit.
