With Thunderbolts*/*The New Avengers serving as something of a comeback for Marvel Studios, all eyes are now on The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The characters have better brand recognition than the Thunderbolts, but they're also best known to moviegoers for starring in three consecutive duds.
The odds are already stacked against the reboot as it has to share July with Jurassic World Rebirth, Superman, and Smurfs. Excitement among fans does appear to be high, though, and more promo art has surfaced as the promotional tie-ins begin.
This latest wave highlights Marvel's First Family; Mister Fantastic strikes a pose not dissimilar to that classic Chris Samnee comic book cover (he's even making a "4" with his hand), and the Invisible Woman shows off one of her force fields.
The Human Torch, meanwhile, flames on, and thanks to the lines on his suit, looks like a piece of Jack Kirby artwork come to life.

The climax of Anthony and Joe Russo's ultra-blockbuster "Avengers: Endgame" was a battle between the powerful warmongering space alien Thanos (Josh Brolin) and about 40 superhero characters, all introduced over the course of the 21 previous movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The battle is the moment when the MCU dispenses with story, cleverness, character, or nuance, and goes for the throat, allowing those superheroes to give a beatdown to Thanos and his minions for 37 full minutes. The sequence ends with Iron Man murdering Thanos and his many, many minions with a set of magical wish stones. The moral implications of Iron Man's mass murder in "Endgame" aren't dealt with, but no one much cared. Fans came for the biff-boom-pow of it all.

Scarlett Johansson confirms she’s stepping away from the MCU, citing narrative closure for Natasha Romanoff and past tensions with Disney—here’s everything we know, from Endgame to her explosive Vanity Fair profile.
Natasha’s Sacrifice in Endgame: A Hero’s Farewell
Black Widow’s death in Avengers: Endgame (2019) remains one of the MCU’s most gut-wrenching moments—a sacrifice still debated by fans on Reddit. Natasha and Clint Barton travel to Vormir to retrieve the Soul Stone, learning it requires a soul to be sacrificed—”a soul for a soul,” as Red Skull ominously puts it.
“I miss my buddies and really would love to be with them forever, but what works about the character is that her story is complete.”
Johansson’s Natasha, determined to save the universe and her “chosen family,” makes the ultimate sacrifice, plummeting to her death so Hawkeye can return to his kids.

We didn't expect to see Dafne Keen as X-23 again following her acclaimed turn in James Mangold's Logan, but the young actress was given the opportunity to reprise the role in Shawn Levy's Deadpool and Wolverine as part of a Void Resistance team alongside Blade (Wesley Snipes), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and the late Johnny Storm (Chris Evans).
Laura appears again in the closing moments of the movie, having reunited with Logan and the Merc With a Mouth, leaving the door open for her eventual return.
Hugh Jackman is expected to play Wolverine at least one more time before we see a new team of mutants makes their debut in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, and it looks like his daughter/clone will be joining him.
According to Mttsh, Keen is set to return to the MCU. Avengers: Doomsday is possible, but if not, she will likely suit-up for Secret Wars.

Superhero movies are more popular than ever, even though many high-profile directors and actors often criticize them for lacking artistic value. In reality, most viewers aren’t seeking deep artistic experiences when picking a movie; they’re looking for entertainment.
This is clearly reflected in our next list. Tons of fans voted on Ranker for their favorite superhero movies of all time. The list features plenty of action, comedy, and all the expected favorites. Let’s find out which movie received the most votes.

Earlier this week, we got a first look at what appeared to be a downed Sentinel on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. Now, we have a birds-eye view offering a clearer shot at the mutant-hunting robot's legs (in what's believed to be the X-Mansion's grounds).
We also have reason to believe that we'll see the remains of more than one Sentinel, as you can see below.
Unfortunately, the legs are still covered up, but the photographer who took these shots has confirmed that the footprints they've seen elsewhere on set match the Sentinel design from the comics.
Sentinels attacking the X-Men's home is par for the course in the comics, so this could be part of a major battle we'll see in the movie or the fallout from a previous battle. We also wouldn't discount the possibility of this being a Danger Room training exercise meant to show us what...

The MCU has reportedly found its new Jean Grey, following Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner. According to the latest buzz, Daisy Edgar-Jones is being eyed by the Kevin Feige studio. Such a report before the release of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars seemingly confirms the Twisters actress’s MCU debut soon.
Daisy Edgar-Jones gained huge popularity after starring in the BBC limited series, Normal People. Following that, she also played prominent roles in Where the Crawdads Sing and Twisters. As the MCU is slowly going into the Mutant Era, Edgar-Jones will likely see another significant role in her career.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been gearing up for a big comeback in every sense of the word. After a period of releasing multiple underwhelming projects one after another, the superhero giant has changed its strategy and is now instead focusing on quality over quantity, with Thunderbolts* being one of the first examples. Furthermore, characters who were absent from the big or small screen for many years are now at the center of their own projects, as is the case with Daredevil and the Fantastic Four. But if that wasn't enough, audiences will also witness huge superhero comebacks in Avengers: Doomsday.

However, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has confirmed that there is room for even more heroes to make an appearance. Fans have been speculating left and right...

In a post shared on Instagram, Downey Jr. showed off his “Doom workstation essentials,” and along with a canned coffee and some wellness supplements, the thing that stands out most is a copy of Doom #1, written by Jonathan Hickman, with art by Stanford Greene.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has turned into one of the biggest cinematic forces since 2008. When Marvel started out making the first Iron Man movie, they might have never imagined they would turn into one of the biggest sensations of modern superhero movies. What started as a standalone superhero movie started to weave out and interconnect multiple universes and movies to captivate fans from all around the world, making it one of the highest-selling movies of all time.

For a show that started it all for the MCU on the small screen, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn’t get nearly enough credit. Although it was far from perfect, and did end up becoming its own thing by the backend of its run, it did amass a passionate fanbase during its seven-season run, but has been rarely acknowledged in the mainline universe.
But with the multiverse and time travel a thing in the MCU, like Clark Gregg, Elizabeth Henstridge has expressed a desire to return to her Marvel roots alongside Scarlett Johansson.

Image Source: Warner Bros Certain performers have become inescapably associated with the superhero roles they brought to life from the moment the cape first billowed or the shield first sparkled. These were not only performances; these were embodiments. The late Christopher Reeve’s soaring depiction of Superman, Robert Downey Jr.‘s sardonic genius as Iron Man, the royal strength of the late Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. Then there is Gal Gadot, who stepped into Wonder Woman’s Amazonian armor and for many became her. Even before her solo outing, Gadot’s presence as Diana Prince in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) hinted at the power and grace she would bring to the iconic hero. But it was 2017’s Wonder Woman that truly cemented her place in superhero history. The film wasn’t just a box office smash; it resonated deeply with audiences, earning a remarkable 93% on Rotten Tomatoes...

Superman has dominated headlines this week, but two weeks after the Man of Tomorrow returns to theaters, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will land.
A new image from the Marvel Studios reboot has been released today, with Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm preparing to take flight for the fateful journey set to grant them fantastic powers.
Reed can be seen giving Ben the thumbs up, unaware that his best friend will be forever transformed into a "Thing" when they return from the cosmos.
It was initially reported that we wouldn't see the team's origin story in the MCU, but images like this (we've included a few other officially released shots below) somewhat contradict that. Still, we don't expect this to take up a huge chunk of the movie.

X-Men, released in 2000, long before the advent of the MCU or the Avengers, paved the way for modern superhero movies. It showed a mature and grounded superhero story with some exemplary performances. But after 25 years, I must admit that there is a major blooper regarding Hugh Jackman throughout the movie.
The 20th Century Fox X-Men movies had many scenes that are still etched in everybody’s minds. But watching X-Men in the modern 4K format made me realize some details that we were never supposed to learn. For starters, the high-definition visual has exposed screws in Wolverine’s claws in the movie.

Avengers: Doomsday is finally happening, and we have the X-Men making their MCU debuts with the movie. Some of them we have already seen in the MCU, but the Mutant Saga might get a kickstart with the two event films coming in 2026 and 2027. Avengers: Doomsday is now in production in London, UK, and the lead actors are hyping up the upcoming entry in the MCU. One of them is Robert Downey Jr.

The comic comes from writer Jonathan Hickman, artist Sanford Greene, and colorist Rachelle Rosenberg, and is set in the near future. Doom #1 also teases one interesting character: Galactus.

Thunderbolts* is set to enter its third weekend in theaters, and despite mostly positive reviews, the film has tapered off at the box office quicker than expected. At the time of writing, Thunderbolts* has grossed $134 million domestically and $143 million internationally for a worldwide total of $277 million. This $134 million in the U.S. is enough to push Thunderbolts* past Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, the critically panned 2007 superhero sequel starring Chris Evans. Evans played The Human Torch before he took on the role of Captain America in the MCU. Thunderbolts* also zoomed past 1978’s Superman and 2003’s Hulk. The film will look to hit $150 million domestically and internationally, and also cross $300 million globally this weekend.
Thunderbolts* was produced on a reported budget of around $180 million, meaning the film has already out-earned this by roughly $100 million two weeks into its run. By the time Thunderbolts* gets ready to leave theaters,...

This week, Disney dropped the new trailer for the Ironheart series, coming exclusively to Disney+. While Riri Williams might be a familiar figure to Black Panther fans, what makes her so worthy of the late Iron Man's power armor?

As filming continues on Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, these latest photos and video from what is believed to be the X-Mansion set reveal what looks a lot like a downed Sentinel.
Though the head isn't visible, what appears to be a large mauve chest plate and foot sticking out of the tarp would seem to leave little doubt that this is indeed one of the giant robots that have been a scourge of mutant-kind in the comics since they were introduced back in the mid-60s.
The Sentinels were a staple of the original X-Men animated series, and have also made a couple of live-action appearances - although Days of Future Past's take on the robots left a lot to be desired among fans that were hoping to see the classic design.

It feels like we're in a time of transition for the MCU, and it likely won't be until after Avengers: Secret Wars that Marvel Studios gets fully back on track.
The movie is expected to reboot the franchise, adding the Fantastic Four and X-Men to the main timeline. We'd also bet on a few key characters being recast, as Marvel Studios, for starters, could do with a new Iron Man.
Still, with the Russo Brothers at the helm, we'd bet on Avengers: Doomsday going some way in righting the ship, and an exciting update comes our way today courtesy of scooper Daniel Richtman.
It's said that the filmmakers are currently shooting an epic Avengers vs. X-Men fight scene, with the mutant team decked out in comic-accurate costumes. If true, this will be a dream come true for comic book fans, though that X-Men lineup is still missing a few big names.

The Cobra Kai Season 6 finale was something of a dream, not only did it provide a satisfying ending to the long-running series, but it also left a lot of Easter eggs behind for fans to find. One such Easter egg that caught the eyes of fans was a Back to the Future reference.
The showrunners, Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz, gave a cheeky nod to the trilogy by talking about creating a Bttf revival spinoff in the finale. However, Back to the Future screenwriter Bob Gale quickly shut down the speculation, addressing the tease in a recent interview.

Scarlett Johansson is one of the most recognizable stars in Hollywood. She has starred in countless movies throughout her incredibly-successful career and has earned awards recognition for her performances. But she is perhaps best known for portraying the Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Johansson was a regular of the MCU movies between 2010 and 2021, popping up on screen alongside the likes of Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, Chris Evans' Captain America, and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes. Although she departed the franchise with her own Black Widow solo movie a few years ago, she is still defending the iconic movie series.
That includes from the Oscars itself as she has called the Academy out for snubbing the record-breaking phenomenon that was Avengers: Endgame.

You never know who might pop up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's one of the beauties of a shared universe, as it means that plenty of beloved characters can surface - or resurface - at any point in time in any project at all. And the MCU is particularly effective at that.
Remember how Chris Evans popped in for an unexpected Thor: The Dark World cameo (albeit as Loki in disguise)? What about how Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts showed up in Spider-Man: Homecoming? Surely, we can't forget about Benedict Cumberbatch's comic-accurate Doctor Strange cameo in Thor: Ragnarok.
Cameos and returns are some of the best things about the MCU movies and TV shows, and now Marvel Studios looks to make that magic happen all over again with a truly unexpected cameo.

Four years since Marvel Studios formally announced they were making an Ironheart Disney+ series to introduce Tony Stark's 'tech genius hero' heir apparent Riri Williams to the MCU, and three years since Dominique Thorne made her debut as the teen whizz-kid in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel's other genius inventor is finally about to take off next month on Disney+. And with EP Coogler and head writer Chinaka Hodge's show right round the corner, today we got a juicy first trailer for the six-episode series, showing Williams building her supersuit, meeting Anthony Ramos' sketchy magic-wielder Parker 'The Hood' Robbins, and encountering a mysterious new character played by Solo star Alden Ehrenreich. Check it out below;

Although technically already announced many years ago, a new iteration of the movie has gained steam and attached three huge stars: Denzel Washington, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Robert Pattinson.
As you may recall, this is Netflix’s second iteration of the project. Jason Bateman was attached to the project in 2021, with the first mention of the project in 2020, although it sounds like it’s gone through different iterations since. The script still comes from Simon Kinberg. Robert Downey Jr. was also reportedly in talks back in 2021.

Scarlett Johansson, one of the Og six Avengers, has finally addressed the question Marvel fans have been asking for years. Could she return as Black Widow in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday? With MCU now diving deep into the multiverse storyline, fans’ hopes for surprise comebacks are at an all-time high.
But for Johansson, who’s been with the franchise since 2010, the answer may not be as satisfying as the fans were hoping for her comeback. The Black Widow star recently said that revisiting her character, Natasha Romanoff, wouldn’t make sense, and that despite her deep love for her co-stars, some endings should stay exactly that— endings.

One of the highlights of Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* is its talented ensemble cast. Among the returning anti-heroes, such as Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Wyatt Rusell as John Walker, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova was the introduction of Lewis Pullman as Bob, later known as Sentry and eventually the Void. Pullman was the surprise highlight of Thunderbolts*, as the actor brought a tragic and nuanced performance that became the movie's emotional center. Now, he is looking forward to exploring more of the character in Avengers: Doomsday.
When Pullman was first cast in the role of Sentry, the actor felt like he didn't belong in the part of Sentry, as he would tell Entertainment Weekly: "Oddly, there was a dissonance, which was very informative for I think how Bob might feel. I felt like I didn't belong in it, despite it being catered to my body.

Avengers: Endgame was a success by almost any metric. It grossed $2.799 billion and briefly became the highest-grossing film of all time, and fans absolutely loved it. It was considered a fitting send-off for Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. But now Johansson has shared her big quibble about the film.
She's cross that it didn't win an Academy Award. “How did this film not get nominated for an Oscar?” she said to Vanity Fair in a new interview. “It was an impossible movie that should not have worked, that really works as a film - and also, it’s one of the most successful films of all time.” It was indeed - but Marvel movies haven't had a lot of luck at the Oscars.
Unless it's part of the Black Panther franchise, that is. The original Black Panther was very, very highly acclaimed, and was a genuine phenomenon.

Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow is one of the founding members of The Avengers, having made herMCU debut way back in Iron Man 2. Johansson said goodbye to the role in 2021 after finally being given a standalone movie, aptly titled Black Widow. Since then, fans have been desperate to know if Johansson will return in the future, especially as the Multiverse means that death in the MCU is as pointless as thinking the Eternals will return. But Johansson's latest update isn't the news fans wanted to hear.
During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Scarlett Johansson was asked about joining her former Marvel alumni in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. As much as the actress wants to reunite with her long-time colleagues on screen, she said that it doesn't make sense for her character. "It would be very hard for me to understand in what capacity [returning] would make sense for me,...

Fans are getting a first look at Marvel Television’s Ironheart today with the debut of a teaser trailer and poster. The intriguing new series stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a young, genius inventor whose iron suits rival the best in the MCU. The character made her debut in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, directed by Ryan Coogler. “Ironheart is such a great character in publishing,” said Coogler. “In 2016, Brian Michael Bendis created a character who would be a successor of sorts to the Iron Man legacy. In the comic book, Riri Williams and Tony Stark had a relationship—she was a student at MIT who came from an almost polar opposite background as Tony, but they came together in their passion to better society. Eventually, the character gets her own identity as Ironheart, and other writers like Eve Ewing picked up from there, taking Riri Williams to Chicago.

Frasier star Kelsey Grammer made his debut as Beast in X-Men 3, aka X-Men: The Last Stand, before returning to provide the voice and motion capture for a fully CGI version of the character in The Marvels many years later.
In The Marvels' stinger, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) wakes up in a medical lab after getting trapped in an alternate reality following her battle with Dar-Benn to find her late mother, Maria (Lashana Lynch), by her side. Even though Marvel Studios has toned it down with the cameos in its last few entries, it looks like Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will give fans a bit of a thrill. During a short interview just before today's Disney Upfronts, series star Charlie Cox (Spider-Man: No Way Home) was asked byThe Hollywood Reporter if there will be any crossover cameos in the upcoming episodes. The British actor was very straightforward about it and replied with a simple "Yeah."
Of course, Cox didn't expand on his comment because it's way too early to hint at what cameos we might see in the new season of Daredevil: Born Again. Matt Murdoch's return to television was in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, but it seems unlikely that the tone of the other Marvel series would fit into the Daredevil universe — especially because, in theory, it offers no room for Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) to break the fourth wall.
