Before the release of Predator: Badlands, the franchise will first return with animated anthology movie Predator: Killer of Killers, which begins the hunt on Hulu on June 6, 2025.
Co-directed by Dan Trachtenberg and Josh Wassung, the upcoming Predator: Killer of Killers has officially been rated “R” this week for…
“Strong bloody violence, some gore and language.”
The original animated action-adventure film follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause.
But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers. Yes, we’re talking about those lovable Predators.
The voice cast includes Lindsay Lavanchy,...

No film can ever hold as much intrigue as the cancelled project, that fabled, elusive "what if?" built up in press events and promo images, only to fall apart and become part of cinema's historical refuse pile. And there is no genre more given to this phenomenon than science fiction. There are sci-fi movies that were discarded by studios decades ago that still manage to cling on to an undead sort of cultural relevance -- a fascination among fans that won't let them truly disappear.
Today, we're looking at some of the most overhyped, widely discussed, heavily promoted, but ultimately never-to-be sci-fi films. It's a collection that undeniably sparks imagination, making us wonder what might have been had studio money lined up in the right way, or rights moved into the proper hands a little sooner, or a big star volunteered to join up.
We'll never know exactly what these movies would have looked like,...

Disney+ just added James Cameron’s most underrated film which helped pave the way for Avatar in the best format possible!
James Cameron stands tall among the filmmakers of his generation. The writer/director may not have the best reputation, and many mock his writing. But there’s no denying that few filmmakers have transformed the game like Cameron with his stunning visual style.
His resume speaks for itself: The Terminator/Terminator 2, Aliens, True Lies, Titanic, and Avatar and its sequels. Cameron could boast the two highest-grossing films of all time as well as scores of Oscars. Cameron’s love of film and his amazing special effects have influenced scores of filmmakers and FX guys for decades.
However, one entry in Cameron’s filmography has been overlooked. A movie that was good in its time but built up a bigger following in the years since. It’s a groundbreaker...

Many years ago, onlookers watched with bated breath as Wyatt Earp marched out to confront ... Wyatt Earp. It was the mid-'90s, and two rival films about the legendary Wild West lawman were vying for the cinemagoer's buck: First up, on Christmas Day 1993, was George P. Cosmatos's "Tombstone," followed six months later by Lawrence Kasdan's "Wyatt Earp." Twin movies were a regular phenomenon in the '90s: You had "Deep Impact" versus "Armageddon," "Dante's Peak" versus "Volcano," and even "Antz" versus "A Bug's Life." But the dueling Westerns had a lot more at stake, because there was a significant beef between the two productions.
Kevin Costner was set to star in "Tombstone" before falling out with screenwriter Kevin Jarre, moving on to develop his own epic biopic of the frontier marshal with Lawrence Kasdan. Rather than let things lie, however, rumors circulated that Costner had tried using his...

It’s not uncommon for Lucasfilm to bring the stars of Star Wars to the stage of the Star Wars Celebration fan festivals. But few expected an animatronic of The Mandalorian’s breakout character, Grogu, to step out and wave his hand alongside his costars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver.
That was the scene this week in Tokyo where the trio appeared at Star Wars Celebration for the first official look at The Mandalorian and Grogu, the upcoming big-screen continuation of the Emmy-winning The Mandalorian Disney+ series. While the footage hasn’t been shared online yet, it offers a taste of what fans can expect to see.

"You are old enough now... it's time I tell you about the monster." 20th Century revealed the first official trailer for the animated movie Predator: Killer of Killers, directed by filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg. This is the first of two (!!) new Predator movies made by Trachtenberg following his hugely successful Predator movie Prey from 2022 (which I still think should've been released in theaters). Predator: Killer of Killers is an animated anthology feature containing three stories that will be released streaming on Hulu in June this summer. His next live-action feature is called Predator: Badlands, and it's currently set to hit theaters (woohoo!!) on November 7th later this fall. Two epic new Predator movies in 2025! The hunt begins. Three legendary warriors – a Viking mother seeking vengeance, a ninja fighting his samurai brother, and a WWII pilot facing cosmic horrors – become prey to an unstoppable hunter of killers. Overnight, Dan Trachtenberg became the Predator whisperer. His Comanche action-horror prequel Prey breathed life into the uneven franchise, and its success opened the door to pitch future entries. One idea became Predator: Badlands, which is slotted for a November 7th, 2025 release date (with new details coming out of CinemaCon this past weekend). But what if I told you Trachtenberg completed another Predator film in secret that’ll be available before we enter the Badlands?
Because that’s the truth, and Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive first details.
Predator: Killer of Killers is a three-part animated anthology that showcases Yautja warriors hunting human prey across global history. It’ll premiere as a Hulu exclusive on June 6th, 2025. The voice cast includes Lindsay Lavanchy, Louis Ozawa, Rick Gonzalez, and Michael Biehn.

Since 1987, Predator fans have taken the ride on the sci-fi horror rollercoaster thanks to the series of films that have stemmed from the original Joel McTiernan-helmed and Arnold Schwarzenegger-led production. And, while we’ve long known that Prey director Dan Trachtenberg has had something up his sleeve beyond Predator: Badlands, its official reveal may shock you. The titular antagonist of the franchise has taken on an array of formidable enemies in the past, but nothing will prepare it for the bloody mess that’s about to break out when Predator: Killer of Killers causes chaos on Hulu on June 6. The biggest twist of all is how audiences will view the latest installment, as, for the first time ever, the creative team is leaving the live-action world behind and sketching their way into animation.

The film that kicked off the entire Terminatorfranchise has quietly landed on a new streaming home. 1984's The Terminator has officially made a new home for itself on HBO's Max streaming service.
The iconic sci-fi action thriller was added to the Max streaming library on April 1. Directed by James Cameron from a script co-written by Gale Anne Hurd, The Terminator introduced Arnold Schwarzenegger as the eponymous killing machine. The film also starred Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, a young woman whose unborn child would lead the human rebellion against their future robotic overlords ruled by the sentient AI known as Skynet.
The Terminator also starred Michael Biehn as the time-displaced freedom fighter Kyle Reese, Paul Winfield as police lieutenant Ed Traxler, and Lance Henrikson as LAPD officer Hal Vukovich. While the response to The Terminator was decidedly mixed at the time of its release, audiences couldn't get enough of its unique breed of sci-fi horror,...

1993's "Tombstone" is full of memorable lines. "You're a daisy if you do." "I calculate that's the end of this town." "Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens." But no line has stood the test of time or become more closely associated with the film than "I'm your huckleberry," as spoken by the late Val Kilmer in the role of Doc Holliday.
As fans look back on Kilmer's incredible acting career in the wake of his passing on April 1, 2025, movies like "Batman Forever," "Top Gun," and "Heat" naturally rank among the best ones he ever starred in. But Kilmer's turn in "Tombstone" is right there among them, and some would say that his performance as Doc Holliday was the finest of his career -- a combination of braggadocious cowboy one-liner-slingin' and tender, heartfelt dramatic moments.

Despite his health struggles, Val Kilmer’s recent passing has shaken us to our core. The man who gave us Iceman and Batman is no longer among us, but the mark he’s left behind will surely never fade. As we take a look back at some of the finest works by the actor, we cannot possibly leave out the cult classic that is Tombstone. Released in 1993, the Western film was highly praised for its action-packed storytelling and the performances, especially Val Kilmer’s portrayal of Doc Holliday.
However, even Val Kilmer’s co-star, Kurt Russell, agrees that it was a “miracle” the film ever made it out of production. While George P. Cosmatos is officially listed as Tombstone‘s director, there is a widespread belief that it was actually Kurt Russell who took responsibility behind the scenes when the film was struggling. Finally, actor Michael Biehn spoke up about the truth behind the rumors.

Actor Val Kilmer died Tuesday at the age of 65. His passing has inspired an outpouring of tributes from those who worked with him throughout his career and those who simply admired him from afar, and it is easy to see why. In his wake, Kilmer has left behind a one-of-a-kind filmography the likes of which most actors can only dream of compiling, as well as a number of performances that have already stood the test of time and will continue to do so in the years to come.
In honor of Kilmer, here are the five best movies starring the actor that are available to stream right now.

Val Kilmer’s death on Tuesday, from pneumonia at 65, hit Western movie fans especially hard. In 1993’s Tombstone, Kilmer delivered one of the most indelible performances in the genre’s history as the tubercular dentist and gambler John Henry “Doc” Holliday. Beset by coughing fits, alcoholism, and a healthy dose of self-loathing, Kilmer’s portrayal emphasized the human frailty of an Old West legend over masculine bravado. Which isn’t to say Kilmer’s Holliday, as quick with his Colt .45 as he was with his tongue, wasn’t to be feared.

The late Val Kilmer had a couple of Disney connections fans may have forgotten about!
It’s always sad when a major star passes away at a seemingly too young age. Val Kilmer may have fallen from his 1990s limelight, but it was still jarring to his many fans to hear the actor had passed away at the age of 65 on April 1 after a long battle with throat cancer and pneumonia.
The actor debuted in the 1984 cult comedy Top Secret! That led to turns in Real Genius before his star-making role as Iceman in the 1986 smash Top Gun. After that, Kilmer was a much-in-demand actor starring in numerous hits, including a turn as the Caped Crusader in Batman Forever as well as Heat, The Saint, The Ghost, and the Darkness, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and more.
Kilmer was, by his own admission, a temperamental man who could cause some messes on set.

Over 30 years since its release, Tombstoneis still one of the greatest Westerns of all time. And a big reason for that is its characters, notably Doc Holliday. From the moment he steps into town, Doc defends his friends, makes enemies, and asserts himself as a force to be reckoned with. But one of his best moments is during his first altercation with Johnny Ringo, leader of the Cowboys gang.
During a heated conversation in the saloon, the two gunslingers engage in a Latin conversation, before putting on a performance with a pistol and a cup. The only problem is that no one, not even the audience, actually understands what the conversation was about. Clearly, the pair weren’t sharing pleasantries, but without subtitles or context, the meaning behind their words gets lost. But, thanks to Google Translate, fans can finally understand what the two discussed, and why it makes Doc Holliday all the more dangerous.

In 1993, George P. Cosmatos directed one of the most spectacular Westerns ever: Tombstone. While the script was layered in nuance and carried a cast of legends, it's a tale of two scenes sharing the similar foreboding line, "Hell is coming with me!" Fans can place the two scenes immediately, recalling the Old West galloping in the background. However, those lines were darker and had a deeper meaning than many realized.
At the time of the movie, it seemed like a filler story during a horrifying opening scene followed by a motivated sheriff hell-bent on vengeance and nothing to lose. The connection was an easy tie, but casual fans of the film didn't attach the gravitas to both scenes Cosmatos may have inserted into the characters of Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) and Johnny Ringo (Michael Biehn). Both were fierce, but one was inspired to protect a community, and the other was...

Like most media based on real events, people, and places, the filming location is one of the most important parts of maintaining historical accuracy and viewer immersion. Tombstone involves a star-studded ensemble cast, including leads Kurt Russell as famous gunslinger Wyatt Earp, Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday, Michael Biehn as Johnny Ringo, and Sam Elliot as Wyatt's brother, Virgil.
The film depicts the real-life conflict between Wyatt's crew and a group of heavies known as The Cowboys. While not everything in the movie is perfectly accurate to what really happened, it expertly blends fact and fiction among several historical events during that time period. But the major factor of believability comes from its Arizona filming locations, which establish the narrative's overall realism.

Doc Holliday is one of the most interesting men in the history of the Western genre. A dentist-turned-gambler-turned-gunfighter, his real-life story has been fictionalized through countless portrayals in film and TV. Throughout the years, Doc has been portrayed in a wide variety of ways, ranging from the cold and calculating to the charming and unpredictable.
Among the many actors who have taken on the role, Val Kilmer and Adam West stand out for their takes on the character, even though they played him decades apart. Kilmer’s portrayal in Tombstone remains one of the most iconic, playing Doc as a brilliant and witty man battling tuberculosis. West, on the other hand, took on the role in the late 1950s and early 1960s in a series of TV Westerns, bringing a more classic version of the gunslinger. Despite these differences, both actors made their portrayals memorable, adding to the character's legendary status in the Western genre.

The US military has been the focus of some of Hollywood's best movies, from naval aviators in Top Gun to special forces in projects like Delta Force and Executive Decision. One of the US' most prestigious units, the Navy SEALs, has been the focus of a variety of films and TV shows, exploring everything from life in the forces to combat missions. While the former can be interesting, it's the thick of battle that audiences love to see.
Navy SEALs remain one of Hollywood's favorite military units, and for good reason. From the rescue of Captain Phillips to the assassination of Osama bin Laden, they're effectively the face of America's elite heroes. While the movie business takes different angles with its exploration of them, the best ones go hard on the action. Whether it's a true story or a hard-hitting action movie, focusing on these elite soldiers rarely fails to impress.

Tombstoneis no ordinary Western. This early ‘90s ensemble piece has such a wealth of talent strapping on their spurs that audiences are spoiled for choice. Kurt Russell is at the peak of his movie star powers, Michael Biehn barely has Terminator 2 in his rearview mirror, and Val Kilmer can do no wrong. Released in 1993, between Unforgiven and Sam Raimi’s The Quick & The Dead, Tombstone occupies a cinematic sweet spot. In the wake of revisionist Westerns like Clint Eastwood’s classic, and sitting alongside Mario van Pebble’s Posse, Tombstone feels like a return to genre traditions.

You’re Next put a delightfully bloody spin on the home invasion genre, earning the film a passionate cult following that has only grown since its release in 2011. Although the ending of You’re Next did leave the door open for a sequel, a follow-up never materialized. However, that doesn’t mean that director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett didn’t consider it.
In a new commentary track (via Bloody Disgusting) on the film’s new 4K Ultra HD Steelbook release, Wingard and Barrett detailed the sequel and explained why they’re glad they never made it.
“Originally, [the Lamb Mask killer] got decapitated in the script with his hand pinned to his head,” Barrett said. “But then we were like, ‘Ah, perfect opportunity, because this film’s gonna be a huge theatrical success, everyone’s telling us, so for You’re Next 2 we’ll just bring [L.C. Holt] back as the Lamb Mask killer.

This is a Terminator household. First and foremost. I will argue that T2 is one of the best sequels of all time, even though I don’t feel like I have to do that because everybody knows. There is a debate in this household that Terminator is better than T2, but we don’t have time for that. We are here for The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I’m going to be honest. When I first heard about the show it was one of those things where there was so much talk about it that I was annoyed. So I put off watching it forever. “You gotta watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles, you gotta watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles…”
So I watched it.

There are few films from the '80s that still hold as much weight on their own as The Terminator. Part horror, part sci-fi, and all around action-packed, this is the movie that made Hollywood take James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Michael Biehn seriously as industry professionals — and for good reason. For 40 years, The Terminator has proven that well-made genre blends don't have to be a novelty. Between its tight script, steady action, and deeply rounded characters, this 1984 thriller is one of a kind. Even better, it's now available on Tubi to stream free of charge. If you've never gotten around to watching The Terminator, or it's been a while, consider this the perfect opportunity to dive into one of the greatest sci-fi features ever made.

One of, if not the greatest, science fiction action movie ever made (this is not an exaggeration or hyperbolic in any way) is now streaming free. Released during the glorious cinematic decade that was the 1980s, 1984’s The Terminator is one of the most seminal examples of the genre, and made an icon of director James Cameron and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn, and Linda Hamilton. And you can now watch this slice of sci-fi brilliance without spending a dime.
Directed by James Cameron who, of course, has since gone on to become one of the most successful filmmakers of all time with the likes of Titanic and the Avatar franchise and written by Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd, The Terminator tells that age-old tale of a girl and a guy. The following article contains spoilers for 1979’s Alien.Veronica Cartwright, the actor known for her role as Lambert in Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror classic Alien, has confirmed something about the chestburster scene that has always been discussed by those who participated in the film: the shock by the actors during the scene was very authentic, because they did not know firsthand how everything would happen.
Although she's not widely recognized as a horror icon, Cartwright is a veteran in the genre. When she was a teenager, she starred in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds and later appeared in horror films like 1978's Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Witches of Eastwick. However, it was her role as Joan Lambert in Alien that made her a scream queen, even though her character met her demise in the sci-fi horror movie.

The recent rumor that the next Alien movie might be set to bring back Sigourney Weaver to play a de-aged Ellen Ripley was met with a mixture of excitement and trepidation from fans of the classic sci-fi horror franchise, but it seems we won't be seeing the iconic heroine in action again after all - at least, not in the Romulus sequel.
Alien: Romulus director Fede Álvarez responded on social media, stating that the report was "fun gossip. But not true at all."

The filmmaker could simply be attempting to throw people off track here, but it seems unlikely. However, Daniel Richtman - who posted the original rumor - has also shared an update.

George P. Costamos’ Tombstone is a Western classic and a cinematic legend. It’s a sprawling and meticulously detailed homage to America’s Wild West, and it’s earned plenty of praise since its 1993 debut. Audiences have always been enchanted by its dusty vistas and exacting gunfights. But there’s also one thing that viewers often point out about this masterpiece.
While it’s not entirely unusual for Western films to feature sweaty foreheads — it’s a genre staple, after all — Val Kilmer’s version of Doc Holliday’s perspiration is particularly prolific. Some even claim it detracts from an otherwise spotless performance.
However, it’s too early to start daubing foreheads and loosening those bolo ties. There’s an in-universe explanation for Kilmer’s sweaty swagger. Of course, there’s also a behind-the-scenes explanation. Both are perfectly reasonable options, but it’s worth knowing that this particular detail has an unintentionally useful implication.

A ripping yarn about a killer kangaroo conceals a sweet little Disneyesque family drama in Ozploitation director Ryan Coonan’s adaptation of his 2014 short, Waterborne. Shot in the wilds of Brisbane with a skeleton crew and barely enough actors to keep its monster fed, its ability to attract international viewers stems mostly from the presence of Alien: Covenant star Tess Haubrich and genre legend Michael Biehn – as you’ve never seen him before.
Haubrich is small town sheriff Maddie, a troubled young woman who blames herself for the death of her war hero father yet who is still tough enough to step up and take charge when occasion demands it, as we see in an early scene involving a scuffle in the local pub. Unfortunately, the two likeable rogues whom she sends off to walk home, after confiscating their car keys, are unlucky enough to attract the attention of a.

By now, everybody knows there are a lot of things wrong with "Dune" 1984. The film has lived in a special kind of infamy since David Lynch and Universal Pictures unleashed it upon the world, when the $40 million sci-fi epic bombed at the box office and courted nothing but critical scorn. Still, there are those who argue that "Dune" is much better than its reputation suggests, and Denis Villeneuve's recent big-screen treatment of Frank Herbert's novel has given rise to plenty of "Dune" 1984 revisionism.
One of the most interesting things about Lynch's ill-fated film, however, isn't necessarily how critics and audiences overlooked its many charms back in 1984, but how many what-ifs surrounded the project. The amount of directors in line to shoot this movie was, for example, frankly dizzying, with everyone from Ridley Scott to David Lean circling the project.
