One of Cillian Murphy’s Lowest Rated Horror Movies Starring Elizabeth Olsen and Robert De Niro Is On Prime Video – Watch or Pass?
Image
Though it’s hard to believe, given his looks, Cillian Murphy has been in the show business for almost three decades. While his professional acting debut happened with a stage play named Disco Pigs in 1996, he wasn’t a household name until the 2002 film 28 Days Later.

However, in between starring in Danny Boyle’s science fiction horror and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Murphy starred in several projects. While some of his projects, like Batman Begins, Inception, and Peaky Blinders, cemented his position as a versatile actor, there were a few underwhelming appearances as well.

The 48-year-old Irish actor’s 2012 outing with Elizabeth Olsen and Robert De Niro, Red Lights, can be categorized as such. The movie, which has a meager score of only 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, has recently been added to Amazon Prime Video. But the question remains: should you watch it or pass?

'The Mandalorian' Star Katee Sackhoff Comments on 'Star Wars' Fandom
Image
There's no denying that the Star Wars fandom can be a cantankerous bunch sometimes, but mostly, it's been an important part of pop culture since George Lucas launched his seminal 1977 film that helped change the landscape of science fiction cinema. Despite its divisive nature at times, however, there is one person who sees nothing but the good in all of it: The Mandalorian's Katee Sackhoff.

Speaking with MovieWeb's own George Edelman to discuss her new action comedy with Josh Hartnett, Fight or Flight, the subject of Star Wars inevitably came up. Sackhoff was no stranger to sci-fi before then thanks to her time on Battlestar Galactica as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, but she became known to fans as Bo-Katan Kryze in the animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels, and for portraying the live-action version of the character in The Mandalorian. For Sackhoff, she had nothing but good things to say about the Star Wars fandom,...

Katee Sackhoff Offers Encouraging Update on Bo-Katan's Return Amid The Mandalorian and Grogu Rumors
Image
Sa fan-favorite character from Star Wars: The Mandalorian seems poised to return amid rumors of a potential The Mandalorian and Grogu appearance. Acclaimed actor Katee Sackhoff offers an encouraging update on whether fans will see Mandalore ruler Bo-Katan Kryze again.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Sackhoff insisted Bo-Katan is appearing "in some form," though when The Mandalorian and Grogu was mentioned, she smiled and pretended to be oblivious to the news of the Jon Favreau film wrapping production last December.

"You will see her again in some form. That's all you need to know," she said. Sackhoff also joked that she has job security in the Star Wars universe thanks to her connections with Dave Filoni, the sci-fi franchise's long-time producer. "Dave Filoni cannot get rid of me, because Bo Katan is based off of his wife, so I've got some job security," she said.

"You Will See Her Again": Katee Sackhoff Confirms Bo-Katan's Return, But Is She In The Mandalorian & Grogu?
Image
2 years after her last appearance in The Mandalorian season 3, Bo-Katan Kryze actor Katee Sackhoff has confirmed the return of her The Mandaloriancharacter in the future of Star Warsafter plenty of speculation about Bo-Katan's involvement in the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogumovie. Bo-Katan, now the leader of a reclaimed Mandalore, is more vital than ever to the future of the Mandalorians. With The Mandalorian now headed to the big screen, it seems inevitable that Bo-Katan will be involved somehow.

Speaking to ScreenRant's Liam Crowley, Sackhoff played coy about her role in The Mandalorian and Grogu, although she did confirm the positive future of her character. "You will see her again in some form," she insisted. "That's all you need to know." Sackhoff then joked about the longevity of her character's future in The Mandalorian franchise and beyond, sharing that "Dave Filoni cannot get rid of me, because Bo Katan is based off of his wife,...

One Of The Best Horror Movie Performances Of 2025 Comes From An Unexpected Oscar Nominee
Image
One of the biggest surprises in the world of horror in recent years was 2023's "Talk to Me." Hailing from A24, the acclaimed film served as the feature directorial debut of Danny and Michael Philippou, transitioning them from YouTube stars to A-list filmmakers. For their follow-up, the Philippou brothers have re-teamed with A24 for another wild horror ride in the form of "Bring Her Back." While it's still relatively early in the year, it's safe to say it features one of the best performances we're likely to find in the world of genre filmmaking in 2025, and it comes from an unexpected actress.

Sally Hawkins, a two-time Oscar nominee, leads the cast of "Bring Her Back" as Laura. While Hawkins is known best for her work in movies like "Paddington" and the Best Picture winner "The Shape of Water," this is Hawkins in a straight-up, uncompromising horror picture. Hawkins doesn't flinch and,...

Puglisi is a first responder who travels a lot and is a volunteer Emt in her hometown. Puglisi, who has a dog named Ripley after Sigourney Weaver’s character in the movie Alien, solved the first toss-up, giving her $1,000 right away. Bartlett, a daredevil who loves scuba diving and ziplining, solved the second one. For the first puzzle, Bartlett had bad luck as he kept landing on Bankrupt after guessing one letter on each of his turns. Puglisi solved “Partly Breezy Mostly Beautiful” for $2,950. The Overlooked Simon Pegg & Nick Frost Sci-Fi Movie Crushing It On Netflix
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

It appears there is some pent-up demand on the part of audiences for another collaboration between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the duo known best for the Cornetto Trilogy (which they made alongside director Edgar Wright). That trilogy includes "Shaun of the Dead," "Hot Fuzz," and "The World's End." But before they finished their cinematic trinity in 2013, Pegg and Frost got together with director Greg Mottola ("Superbad") for a largely overlooked sci-fi comedy in the form of "Paul" -- a movie that has been finding new life on Netflix of late.

Indeed, FlixPatrol reports that 2011's "Paul" is currently occupying the number four spot on Netflix's most-watched movie charts, sitting just above "Twilight" and below only "The Equalizer 2," "Havoc," and "Exterritorial." Director Gareth Evans' "Havoc," it's worth noting, enjoyed a healthy run atop the streamer's charts, having only recently...

The Best Movie Sequels of All Time
Image
Believe it or not, there used to be a time where movie sequels were actually an incredibly rare thing. As it was, audiences felt that movies and even tv shows should have definitive stories and points that they were trying to make and why would anybody bother making a sequel to what should have been a conclusive story? But now, in an era where Hollywood values established IP and fanbases more than any potential original project, sequels have become the norm. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing that sequels have taken over cinemas, provided that the sequels are just as good as the originals and come out with their own original plot-lines. Like all movies, whether or not a person might enjoy a surplus of sequels is preferential and is more so dependent on the subject material, especially if it’s regarding a franchise that the audience has taken a liking too.

Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy in The Gorge (2025)
The Gorge (2025) Ending Explained: Who are Levi and Drasa’s Employers?
Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy in The Gorge (2025)
The Gorge (2025), directed by Scott Derrickson and written by Zach Dean, feels like a rare breed in today’s Hollywood — the kind of bold, high-concept B-movie that major studios have largely abandoned in favor of safer IP-driven projects. It’s a genre mash-up that blends action, romance, and horror, channeling the spirit of old-school thrillers while still feeling distinctly modern. Think of it as a video game fever dream brought to life, but with heart, style, and a surprisingly sharp emotional edge.

What sets The Gorge apart is its willingness to embrace extremes — operatic love, kinetic violence, eerie atmosphere — without ever winking too hard at the audience. Instead of parodying genre tropes, it uses them earnestly, creating a heightened reality where intense feelings and life-or-death stakes collide. Derrickson brings his horror sensibilities to the fore with striking visuals and suspenseful set pieces, while Dean’s script leans into pulpy storytelling with unexpected tenderness.

When James Cameron Slayed His Aliens Pitch In The Most Unique Way
Image
How did James Cameron rock his Aliens pitch? (Photo Credit – Instagram)

The legendary tale of how James Cameron scribbled a dollar sign into the title and convinced Fox to greenlight a sequel is more than just Hollywood myth, it came straight from Cameron himself.

Back in the early ’80s, the pressure was on. Alien had already become a sci-fi classic in 1979, and Fox wanted a follow-up. Ridley Scott, who directed the original, didn’t return. Instead, a young James Cameron fresh off his breakout with The Terminator stepped in to take the reins. And with him came a bold vision: bigger, louder, and definitely more lethal.

Unlike Scott’s slow-burn horror, Cameron leaned into all-out warfare. His version wasn’t just about one creature stalking a spaceship crew, it was about a swarm. And in a pitch meeting that’s become the stuff of legend, he explained that shift in the simplest,...

Avatar: Fire And Ash First Still Features Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Zoe Saldaña As Neytiri
Image
Avatar: The Way of Water concluded with the death of Jake Sully and Neytiri's firstborn son, Neteyam. Unsurprisingly, that's put them both back on the warpath against the Rda, and the "absolute devastation" will fuel the matriarch's actions heading into Avatar: Fire and Ash.

"That pain is seamlessly followed up on," Zoe Saldaña tells Empire Online (via SFFGazette.com). "And because it doesn’t really have anywhere to go, and doesn’t go away, rage can also come from it. [The Sullys] are going to be tested as a family."

"Not only would everything that’s happening compel her to question the bond she has with her husband," the actress adds, "but also her bond with herself, her people, her land, and the way the Na’vi are. She’s going to question everything."

However, Neytiri will supposedly "meet her match" in Oona Chaplin's Varang, the leader of the Mangkwan Ash Clan.

Avatar: Fire and Ash Sneak Peek Reveals First Look at Zoe Saldana's Return as Neytiri
Image
Avatar: Fire and Ash puts the Sully family through the wringer as they look to bounce back from the tragic events of The Way of Water. A new still from the Avatar threequel shows the family's matriarch, Zoë Saldaña's Neytiri, willing to risk it all to protect her kin.

Per Empire Magazine, a fresh sneak peek from Fire and Ash sees Neytiri in action, seemingly holding a bow and arrow while in battle on Pandora. The look of rage on Neytiri's face in the image stems from the grief she and her partner, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), have suffered from after the death of their son, Neteyam, during the Na'vi's climactic battle with the Rda. Saldaña stated that Fire and Ash will further chronicle Neytiri's pain from losing her child. “That pain is seamlessly followed up on,” she said. “And because it doesn’t really have anywhere to go,...

Sigourney Weaver Was Too Iconic for Neill Blomkamp’s This Unreleased Sci-Fi Movie to Ever Do Her Justice
Image
That’s what happens when too many cooks try to create a dish… they spoil the broth. That is exactly what happened with Sigourney Weaver’s unreleased film in the Alien franchise, and it wasn’t even her fault!

When three directors clashed heads and collided scripts, the end result was a film named Alien V, aka Alien: Awakening, with director Neill Blomkamp helming the project. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances (which were really unfair to a lot of people), his project was put on hold indefinitely and later… canceled.

Sigourney Weaver was almost about to return to the Alien franchise

Fans might remember the iconic actress from the 1979 film Alien, who was the sole survivor of the terrible ordeal involving the Xenomorph. Well, although several sequels had already been made after the ’79 film, the script for Alien V demanded a challenge.

Overhyped Sci-Fi Movies That Were Never Released
Image
No film can ever hold as much intrigue as the cancelled project, that fabled, elusive "what if?" built up in press events and promo images, only to fall apart and become part of cinema's historical refuse pile. And there is no genre more given to this phenomenon than science fiction. There are sci-fi movies that were discarded by studios decades ago that still manage to cling on to an undead sort of cultural relevance -- a fascination among fans that won't let them truly disappear.

Today, we're looking at some of the most overhyped, widely discussed, heavily promoted, but ultimately never-to-be sci-fi films. It's a collection that undeniably sparks imagination, making us wonder what might have been had studio money lined up in the right way, or rights moved into the proper hands a little sooner, or a big star volunteered to join up.

We'll never know exactly what these movies would have looked like,...

Predator: Badlands Easter Egg could be setting up long-awaited Alien vs. Predator revival
Image
They say that at Disney, no one can hear you scream. Since the House of Mouse purchased the rights to 20th Century Fox in 2019, we’ve seen the usually family-friendly studio push forward with some of Fox’s racier IPs. Following the success of 2022’s Prey, that served as an innovative Predator prequel, Fede Álvarez soared his way to the top of the box office with Alien: Romulus. Neither is staying dormant for long, with Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth bringing Xenomorphs to the small screen in 2025, a Romulus sequel already in the works, and Predator: Badlands trying something new with the Yautja.

The first trailer for Badlands offers the unique premise of a Predator protagonist, although we have occasionally seen the Skin Thieves working with humans instead of just hunting them for sport. Prey’s Dan Trachtenberg is back behind the camera for Badlands, which again is taking the...

Pedro Pascal Makes a Bold Claim About 'The Mandalorian & Grogu' Ahead of 2026 Release
Image
Of the plethora of Star Wars projects that are in development at Disney, the only one that we know for sure that’s coming out next year is The Mandalorian & Grogu, which has a release date of May 22, 2026. Featuring Pedro Pascal reprising his role as the titular Mando from the beloved series, the film is set at some point between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, and will once again see him and Grogu go on what Pascal calls "one of the best adventures ever made."

Appearing on the red carpet at Star Wars Celebration Japan recently, Pascal was approached by the good folks at IMDb, and discussed a little of what's to come in The Mandalorian & Grogu. He had high praise for both the sets and creator/director Jon Favreau, noting that "the series alone had some of the most incredible sets that I've ever seen in my life,...

David Nutter at an event for The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards (2015)
Meet the Newborn…

After spending the last few weeks looking at teen horror films in David Nutter’s Disturbing Behavior (listen) and John Carpenter’s adaptation of Stephen King’s Christine (listen), we celebrated Alien Day with a look at the much-maligned fourth entry in the franchise: Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Alien Resurrection (1997).

In the film, the military resurrects Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) via the cloning process 200 years after her death in Alien 3. During the process, however, her DNA is fused with the Queen Alien, making her motives questionable at best. Once the inevitable happens and the aliens escape, “Ripley” must team up with a group of mercenaries and decide where her allegiances lie.

Alien: Earth teasers set up five deadly alien species (and give me hope the series will be awesome)
Image
This summer, FX and Hulu will debut the latest entry in the iconic sci-fi horror franchise Alien. Titled Alien: Earth, this will be the Xenomorph's first television series, It's set in the year 2120, around two years before the original 1979 film starring Sigourney Weaver. And as the name implies, this time around, the action will take place on Earth itself.

I've had some reservations about how that might work in the larger context of the franchise, which often revolves around how utterly essential it is to keep the invasive Xenomorphs from ever reaching the human home planet. But with each new glimpse of Alien: Earth we get, those fears become quieter.

And we're getting quite a few glimpses at the moment, because FX and Hulu dropped a slew of new teaser trailers over the week. The largest of the bunch dropped on April 26, also known as Alien Day in the fandom...

“1492: Conquest of Paradise”
Director Ridley Scott's historical feature "1492: Conquest of Paradise" (1992) dramatizes Italian explorer 'Christopher Columbus' and his travels to the 'New World', starring Gérard Depardieu, Armand Assante and Sigourney Weaver:

"...'Columbus' (Depardieu) is obsessed with making a trip westwards to Asia, but lacks crew and a ship. He is approached by 'Martín Pinzon', a shipowner from 'Palos', who introduces Columbus to the banker 'Santángel'.

"'Queen Isabella I' (Weaver) owes money to Santángel. Columbus meets with the queen, who grants him his journey in exchange for his promise to bring back sufficient amounts of riches in gold.

"Columbus tricks many crewmen by telling them that the voyage would only last seven weeks. Nine weeks go by and still no sign of land. At night, Columbus notices mosquitoes on the deck, indicating that land is not far off.

"Some days later, Columbus and the crew spot an albatross flying around the ship,...

Celebrate Alien Day With New Xenomorph-Themed Clothing Line
Image
Happy Alien Day! Over the last decade, April 26th has been an official celebration of Ridley Scott's coveted horror franchise. Since 1979, when horror fans were introduced to Xenomorphs for the first time, there have been seven mainline films in the franchise. Nine if you include the Alien vs. Predator crossover films that aren't canon. Now, to help honor some of the genre's scariest monsters, Alien is getting a new apparel collection from Rucking Fotten.

The collection highlighting Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3 has specifically been made for Alien Day. There are mostly long sleeves and t-shirts that feature Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley, the iconic Alien poster and more than a few Xenomorphs and chestbursters. However, there's also a hat and sweatshirt featuring the classic Alien font. Rucking Fotten expressed their excitement for the new collection, writing:

“The last time we participated in Alien Day was 2022 where we paired...

In space, no one can hear you scream, but on Earth the “Alien” franchise continues to give fans lots of great music to listen to.

Pop culture collectibles company Mutant, partnering with Hollywood Records and 20th Century Studios, will issue two new and exclusive musical releases on physical media to commemorate Alien Day. On April 26, Mutant will not only release “The Romulus Suite EP” on limited-edition colored vinyl, but the first-ever CD release of composer Benjamin Wallfisch’s full “Alien: Romulus” score.

Alien Day, set on a date that echoes the Lv-426 colony portrayed in James Cameron’s 1986 film “Aliens,” has become an annual tradition. In past years, Reebok has released “stomper” sneakers modeled after the shoes worn by Sigourney Weaver in the sequel, and other brands have formed partnerships to celebrate what’s become one of the most enduring franchises in cinema history.

During his initial scoring sessions for “Alien: Romulus,...

Will The Mandalorian Season 4 Follow The Mandalorian And Grogu Movie? Filmmaker Jon Favreau Weighs In
Image
The Mandalorian season 4 was supposed to go into production before 2023's Hollywood strikes. Scripts had been written, but the downtime saw Disney decide Din Djarin and Grogu's next adventure should be a feature instead.

Given their popularity and the way season 3 ended, it's not overly surprising that Disney is looking to cash in on The Mandalorian's success by shifting focus from streaming subscribers to box office revenue.

It's also been over six years since The Rise of Skywalker. So, getting Star Wars back into theaters, after Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy essentially turned it into a small screen property, has become a priority for Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Starting with two hugely popular characters is a smart move, but as of now, we don't know what the future holds in store for them both beyond The Mandalorian and Grogu movie coming to theaters next year. For example, is the...

How Many ‘Avatar’ Movies Has James Cameron Planned?
Image
There are not many films that appear once in decades and fundamentally change the direction of filmmaking. Besides becoming the highest-grossing movie ever when it premiered in 2009, Avatar cemented its place in the history of cinema and became deeply rooted in pop culture. James Cameron, an expert in presenting far-sighted imaginations on screen, created an alien world with groundbreaking technology and visual effects and also managed to add a message that connected to a global audience.

However, it took him 13 years to release Avatar: The Way of Water, which became another massive hit. It showed that there is more to the story of Pandora by involving new tribes, creatures, and conflicts. Now, it looks like the director is not waiting long for the next series of installments. Cameron wants to build a universe like Star Wars. So, how many more Avatar movies are coming up ahead?

Every upcoming Avatar movie...

Sigourney Weaver's Underrated Snow White Movie Is A Twisted Gothic Horror Gem
Image
"Snow White" is a tale with plenty of gothic horror elements, even in its most Disneyfied form. As such, it's no surprise that the story has been reimagined into a horror movie on occasion. Granted, this is the type of thing that evokes images of Rhys Frake-Waterfield's 2023 feature "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" and the ever-expanding Twisted Childhood Universe it has spawned ... and indeed, Snow White's horror history includes films like the less than exemplary 2012 teen camp slasher, "Snow White: A Deadly Summer."

However, the subject matter has also spawned a truly fascinating gothic horror film starring none other than Sigourney Weaver. 1997's "Snow White: A Tale of Terror" removes all the frills and cutesy aspects of the story, focusing instead on the lean, mean horror at its heart. As it turns out, adopting a comparatively realistic approach to a tale that features a murderous stepmother with supernatural...

‘Star Wars’ Celebration 2025: All the biggest announcements you might have missed
Image
Andor will end with its already-acclaimed second season, but there are still plenty of Star Wars stories on the horizon. This year’s iteration of the semi-annual Star Wars Celebration convention, which took place in Tokyo, Japan over the weekend, gave plenty of star-studded updates on both fan-favorite Star Wars projects and new, previously unannounced installments. Here’s a roundup of what you may have missed.

What did we learn about existing Star Wars shows and movies at Celebration 2025?

Disney+ shows abound, but the last theatrically-released Star Wars movie remains 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. That will change next year with The Mandalorian and Grogu, a cinematic conclusion to Disney+’s first original series directed by series creator Jon Favreau, who was on hand at Celebration to promote the movie alongside his creative collaborator Dave Filoni and stars Pedro Pascal (reprising his role as the titular Mandalorian bounty hunter Djin...

The Mandalorian & Grogu's Jon Favreau Explains Why Jeremy Allen White's Rotta the Hutt Looks So Different From Jabba
Image
The Mandalorian & Grogu director Jon Favreau has explained why Jeremy Allen White's Rotta the Hutt looks different from his more illustrious Star Wars counterpart, Jabba. White's character, who first appeared in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars as Rotta the Huttlet, is the spawn of the infamous intergalactic crime lord.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Favreau discussed the evolution of the Hutts through the Star Wars Extended Universe and how they landed on Rotta's more muscle-bound design. "I think it was important for us to have an image because everybody...We definitely draw inspiration from Extended Universe, and the Hutts are just an interesting group," he began. "And they were explored slightly in the, you know, through Jabba and what we saw when we were growing up. But then, with Filoni and animation, they really delved into it. And then, of course, all the accompanying materials, like the comics,...

The Force Is Strong With This Writer! Kathleen Kennedy Reveals The Pen Behind Taika Waititi’s Star Wars Film
Image
The Star Wars Celebration event in Japan may have concluded, but exciting news concerning that infamous galaxy far, far away continues to trickle in.

Screen Rant had the opportunity to speak with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy at the event, and she offered a promising update on the long-awaited Star Wars film being helmed by the award-winning Taika Waititi.

While fans eagerly anticipate Waititi's unique vision for the franchise, Kennedy clarified that the primary factor delaying the start of production is the director's own busy schedule.

"Taika is on Taika time," Kennedy playfully admitted to to the site. "I’ve just continually said to him, look, when you feel that you’re ready and you can really devote the time, we’re going to do it. We’ll be waiting. I’m just hoping we get there. That will be a great Star Wars movie."

Adding an intriguing layer to the project,...

“Now He’s an Apprentice”: Jon Favreau Teases Grogu’s Evolution in ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ [Exclusive]
Image
Lucasfilm held its official panel at Star Wars Celebration on Thursday Night, which featured the first official look at The Mandalorian & Grogu, the upcoming Star Wars film set for release on May 22, 2026. Jon Favreau, the showrunner and creator of The Mandalorian, has been tapped to write and direct the film, which will see Pedro Pascal reprise his role as Din Djarin. The Mandalorian & Grogu will bring the most adorably green Force user, Grogu, to the big screen for the first time with an even larger role than ever before. Collider’s Steve Weintraub caught up with Favreau following the big presentation at Celebration, and he asked how much Grogu has grown up since we last saw him in The Mandalorian Season 3:

“You want to have a progression so it's not just the same situation over and over again. So, on one front, the relationship between Mando and Grogu has evolved,...

Jon Favreau and Sigourney Weaver Describe the “Intimacy” of ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Rewrites [Exclusive]
Image
A major highlight of The Mandalorian from a creative perspective was all the directors the series allowed to play around in the Star Wars sandbox. From Bryce Dallas Howard to Taika Waititi, Dave Filoni, Rachel Morrison, and one of the show's late great stars, Carl Weathers, the series fostered a collaborative atmosphere all centered around the work of series creator and showrunner Jon Favreau. Now that he's working on bringing Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu to the big screen with The Mandalorian & Grogu, Favreau is aiming to incorporate a similar process, even if a movie gives him fewer options than an episodic format. It does, however, mean he's sticking to his strategy of rewriting the film around the action as it unfolds.

In an interview with Collider's Steve Weintraub at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, Favreau was joined by franchise newcomer and sci-fi legend Sigourney Weaver to discuss everything about the movie,...

“He’s Very Excited About It”: Sigourney Weaver Is as Eager as You Are To See James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ [Exclusive]
Image
Sigourney Weaver may have gotten her sci-fi start in Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise, and while she’ll always be inseparable from her role as Ellen Ripley, she’s recently become one of the titans of a new universe. Weaver is one of the stars of the Avatar franchise, which kicked off in 2009 with Avatar and continued more than 10 years later with Avatar: The Way of Water. The story of Pandora will roll on later this year in Avatar: Fire and Ash, which will introduce the world to a darker side of Pandora, much less colorful than the parts of the planet inhabited by the Omatikaya and Metkayina. During a recent interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub at Star Wars Celebration to talk about The Mandalorian and Grogu, Weaver provided an update on the next Avatar film, including when she thinks she’ll get to see it:

"I Hope I'm a Pretty Tough Boss": Sigourney Weaver Spills New Intel on Her 'Mandalorian and Grogu' Character [Exclusive]

The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to become the first Star Wars movie to hit theaters since 2019, and one of the newcomers to the galaxy far, far away is the legendary Sigourney Weaver. Collider's Steve Weintraub is there, too, and he had a chance to talk to Weaver about her character in the film. "He Is My Jedi Master": 'The Mandalorian and Grogu's Pedro Pascal on the Genius of Jon Favreau [Exclusive]

The Mandalorian has been one of the most pivotal modern Star Wars entries, if not the defining project for this new era — not just for the franchise, but for the people behind it. And no one is more grateful for that than series lead Pedro Pascal, who had nothing but effusive praise for series creator Jon Favreau during their appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan. Pascal, who stars as Din Djarin (aka Mando), spoke with Collider's Steve Weintraub about how working with Favreau from day one of The Mandalorian has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of his life — and teased what’s ahead in the upcoming movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu.

“I know everything, everything, everything about the movie," Pascal joked. "I can tell you that I think Jon Favreau is a genius, which is no surprise to anybody, but that he has this overview...
