Inside Man: Most Wanted didn’t need to exist, but here it is, sitting pretty on Netflix six years later as a surprise hit. The two-time Academy Award winner has demonstrated range and versatility throughout his storied acting career, which spans four decades and encompasses playing diverse characters across a variety of genres, with notable performances in the likes of Malcolm X, Training Day, and Gladiator II, but he has also signed on for several streaming projects in recent years.

According to Screen Rant, Puck has reported that three sources "familiar" with the situation have indicated that Washington is getting a $35 million pay packet for his role in Netflix's newly-announced heist thriller Here Comes the Flood, in which he will star opposite Robert Pattinson and Daisy Edgar-Jones. The project was announced at the streaming company's third Upfront presentation, which is why it's currently a hot topic of conversation.

Back in 2020, it was big news in film circles when Netflix picked up the original script by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Simon Kinberg for Here Comes The Flood in an undisclosed seven-figure deal. Then, the agreement for this not-so-conventional heist movie seems to have fallen into the shadows, with the early possibility that Jason Bateman will direct an iteration that will never occur.

Five years on, and the whole project is back on track, with the directing duties, production team, and principal cast officially announced. The three actors are set to lead an upcoming heist film titled Here Comes the Flood. It will be directed by Fernando Meirelles, and the screenplay was written by Simon Kinberg.

Among those getting new seasons: The Four Seasons, Tina Fey’s comedy series that debuted in May to strong reviews and is expected to contend for several Emmy Awards this year.

The Diplomat is also returning for new episodes. Netflix renewed the political thriller with Keri Russell for a fourth season before any episodes from the third season were released.
