Tilda Swinton at an event for I Am Love (2009)
Tilda Swinton is set to star in the psychological whodunnit Death in Her Hands
Tilda Swinton at an event for I Am Love (2009)
Tilda Swinton can recently be seen in Pedro Almodovar’s The Room Next Door with Julianne Moore. Our Alex Maidy found the film to be only adequate with his review stating, “The Room Next Door is as intriguing as all of Pedro Almodovar‘s films, but the move from Spanish to English betrays some of the gaps in the legendary filmmaker’s writing talents. Moore and Swinton are good, with the latter continuing to show her talents as a performer through physical presence, even more so than through speaking. This is not a film for everyone, but it shows that dying does not always have to be dark and that filmmakers like Almodovar can even find positivity and hope in sadness.”

Swinton implied that she’s ready for a break in her career, but that break won’t be coming too soon since The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that she...

Meghann Fahy 'Sirens' Interview: The Actor Embraces Her Darkest Role Yet in New Limited Series
Image
The first time Meghann Fahy ever stepped onto a television set, she was playing Devyn, a Dartmouth-educated personal assistant unimpressed by Gossip Girl’s glitterati. But in the opulent seaside limited series Sirens, Fahy portrays a very different Devon.

This Devon isn’t charmed by a designer suit or a slick attitude either. She’s a working-class outsider, whose distaste for the upper crust of society puts her in harsh contrast with her easily swayed sister, Simone (House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock); Simone’s wealthy philanthropist boss, Michaela Kell (Oscar winner Julianne Moore); and Michaela’s billionaire husband, Peter Kell (Golden Globe winner Kevin Bacon).

Fahy is emotional when she considers how much she has grown as an actor between playing Devyn in 2009 and Devon in 2025. “To look back on the most nervous I’ve ever been on set with Gossip Girl,” she begins, “to now be able...

Echo Valley’s Storyline Will Put Sydney Sweeney in the Leagues of Florence Pugh and Zendaya
Image
Sydney Sweeney made it big when she starred in Euphoria. Though it was a complex role, she has yet to leave a lasting mark on the film industry or shift perceptions among her fans as a versatile actor who can take on any role across any genre.

While the horror mystery Immaculate did showcase her acting chops as a serious actor, the success of the sleeper hit, Anyone But You seems to have overshadowed her work. But now, her upcoming Apple Original Films’ Echo Valley could be a game-changer, placing her among the ranks of her industry peers like Florence Pugh and Zendaya.

Echo Valley Trailer: Julianne Moore Helps Sydney Sweeney Get Away With Murder In Apple TV+ Thriller
Image
Since breaking out as Cassie Howard in HBO's Euphoria, it would be fair to say that Sydney Sweeney has been on pretty killer form, starring in the likes of Immaculate, Anyone But You, The White Lotus, and Reality, and serving as producer on the first two of those as well as upcoming adaptations of Split Fiction and OutRun. In Beast filmmaker Michael Pearce's upcoming Apple TV+ thriller Echo Valley however, it looks like Sweeney is going to be on an altogether different kind of killer form as Claire, a drug-addicted young woman who rocks up on her mother Kate's (Julianne Moore) doorstep covered in blood that — you guessed it! — ain't her own. Cue tension, secrecy, and heart-in-mouth moments aplenty as the mother-daughter duo navigate their dark secret, one which — based on the newly dropped first trailer for the show — manages to pull Domhnall Gleeson, Fiona Shaw, and Kyle MacLachlan into its orbit.

Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney in Echo Valley (2025)
Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore know where the bodies are buried in the trailer for Apple TV+’s Echo Valley
Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney in Echo Valley (2025)
Parents often say they’d do anything for their children. Would they help them hide a body? What if the situation spirals out of control and the truth threatens to bubble to the surface? Would they remain the dutiful parent or start to see the problem for what (or who) it truly is? Today, Apple TV+ is debuting a trailer for Echo Valley, a chilling thriller directed by Michael Pearce, starring Sydney Sweeney, Julianne Moore, and Fiona Shaw.

In Echo Valley, Moore plays Kate Garrett, a woman recovering from a personal tragedy while boarding and training horses at Echo Valley Farm, twenty-two remote, Bob Ross painting-worthy acres in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In the middle of the night, Kate’s recalcitrant daughter, Claire (Sweeney), is covered in blood at her doorstep beside herself. As an unexpected guest shatters Kate’s quiet recovery, things quickly spiral out of control.

‘Echo Valley’ Sees Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney Caught in a Bloody Family Secret
Image
Apple TV+ has released the official trailer and key art for Echo Valley, a psychological thriller headlined by Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney. Directed by BAFTA-winner Michael Pearce and written by Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby, the film will premiere globally on 13 June 2025.

Set in rural Pennsylvania, the story centres on Kate Garrett, played by Moore, a horse trainer living in relative seclusion as she grieves a personal loss. Her world is upended when her daughter Claire, portrayed by Sweeney, arrives unannounced in the dead of night, blood-soaked and barely coherent. What begins as a panicked reunion between mother and daughter quickly spirals into a tense and potentially deadly situation, forcing Kate to make unthinkable choices in order to protect what’s left of her family.

The trailer teases a story that leans heavily on the claustrophobic intensity of its isolated setting, combined with a slow-burning sense of dread.

‘Echo Valley’ Trailer: New Thriller Starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney Arrives June 13
Image
With films like “The Way Back” and “Out of the Furnace,” Brad Ingelsby made a name for himself as one of the better writers in Hollywood. It shouldn’t be surprising that British director Michael Pearce chose Ingelsby’s “Echo Valley” as his first directorial feature, which he didn’t write himself. Pear e has nothing but praise for the “Mare of Easttown” scribe:

“Usually I read either a script which has great characters, but they’re in need of a really compelling story, or I read very genre-driven material, but the characters feel like archetypes and they’re not really developed…when I read Brad’s script, it was in the bull’s-eye where I got everything that I wanted.

The 7 Best New Shows on Netflix in May
Image
In a rare feat for a streamer as beloved for its onslaught of acquisitions as its original productions, the best new shows on Netflix’s May release calendar are all exclusive to the service. While I balk at calling Conan O’Brien’s Mark Twain Prize ceremony a full-on Netflix original, the most powerful streaming service in the world was smart enough to snag the rights — and schedule the premiere during yet another period of peak appreciation for our favorite late-night Irishman — so they deserve ample credit.

Plus, it’s the only entry of the lot that’s not an established Netflix franchise or an anticipated Netflix original. May will welcome new seasons of “Love, Death & Robots”, “Untold” (the sports documentary series that’s proving to be a worthy addition to any “30 for 30” fan’s queue), and the final season of “Big Mouth.” (A well-reviewed Netflix original series that spans eight seasons plus a spinoff?...

Image
May brings a wave of new content to Netflix, with stories ranging from laugh-out-loud comedies to edge-of-your-seat thrillers. There’s a little something for everyone, whether you’re into big-name casts or hidden gems.

I’m pumped about this month’s mix of originals, classic movies, and a live event to close things out. Let’s dive into some of the standout titles hitting the service.

‘The Four Seasons’ (May 1)

Tina Fey co-created and stars in ‘The Four Seasons,’ a comedy series remaking the 1981 film. Alongside Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, and Will Forte, Fey explores three couples whose group vacations get messy after a breakup. It’s funny and heartfelt.

Debuting on May 1, this show nails friendship and love with a great cast. The humor and drama make it a solid watch for comedy fans looking for something fresh.

‘The Royals’ (May 9)

‘The Royals’ is an Indian romantic drama starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter.
