We recently learned some exciting news about several returning Taylor Sheridan shows from Paramount, but there was one particular title left out of the group. While we learned release windows for four of the prolific producer's television series coming later this fall, one of his highly anticipated Yellowstone spinoffs didn't receive an update on when to expect its release.
The Madison wasn't given a release window along with four highly anticipated Sheridan series. During an earnings call held by Paramount, the company revealed that Tulsa King season 3, Mayor of Kingstown season 4, Landman season 2, and Dutton Ranch would all premiere on Paramount+ between September and November 2025. The company also confirmed 1944 would release in 2026, and we also learned Kayce Dutton's spinoff arrives on CBS sometime next year..
Unfortunately, that list of titles didn't include The Madison, which was honestly expected to be released sometime in 2025 and still could, perhaps even this summer.

Helen Mirren is reflecting on her stance to collaborate with Taylor Sheridan after her previous project with the director left the audience divided. Sheridan added another jewel to his Yellowstone crown when he added the prequel 1923.
For the project, Sheridan collaborated with acting powerhouses like Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren to narrate the back story of television’s popular Western. While the show is generally considered a hit, it has also managed to divide the audience like never before. Amid this, the veteran actress, who was introduced as Dutton matriarch in Season 1 in 2022, is sharing her real thoughts about the scope of a future collaboration with Sheridan.
While Cara Dutton was one of the most interesting roles in the series, Mirren’s response regarding the possibility of her revisiting the role is equally intriguing. Let’s find out what Mirren really thinks about working with Sheridan after the polarizing series.

TikTok has been banned in several countries for a variety of reasons, but it continues to be the hub for short-form storytelling all over the world, especially when it comes to the romance genre. Everyone from vampires to criminals keeps finding love with the dumbest humans imaginable in a matter of seconds or over the course of multiple videos; yes, there are serialized TikToks as well. But since there’s no room for nuance in such a short period of time, obtuse power dynamics and the romanticization of problematic tropes are the order of the day. And with its ever-rising popularity, that kind of content has been emulated via Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, thereby leading to a barrage of material that holds the power to absolutely rot the common man’s brain. It would’ve been fine if that brand of slop was limited to social media. However, after watching films like The Tearsmith,...

Imagine a director and actor duo who delivered some classics back-to-back, parted ways to never work together again. Clint Eastwood and Sergio Leone delivered the legendary Man with No Name character in the Dollars trilogy, which has become a classic. The Spaghetti Western genre was started by the duo with A Fistful of Dollars.
However, after their trilogy came to a conclusion in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Eastwood and Leone seemingly parted ways to work on other stuff. Eastwood himself turned to directing and has been working nonstop. However, the two came close to collaborating on Leone’s masterpiece Once Upon a Time in the West.

The roster covers hundreds of broadcast, cable and streaming programs debuting throughout 2025, including many still listed as Tba (to be announced). It includes series premieres and season debuts, shows returning from hiatus and some one-offs such as live sports and awards shows but not movies or specials.
Note that older premiere dates are listed at the bottom and that not all PBS outlets premiere their shows on the same day.
As always, we update this post daily as more dates are revealed, so check back often for the latest. We’re glad you tuned in. Additions or adjustments can be sent to editors@deadline.com.

I think a man’s persuasive power is biblical when he rewrites a whole script not to make himself look better, but to make Clint Eastwood’s role juicier… and succeeds. That man is Kevin Costner.
When I heard Costner rewrote A Perfect World just to convince Eastwood to co-star, I had to sit down, take a sip of strong coffee, and rethink my entire stance on who the real auteur of Yellowstone should’ve been. If Costner could woo the squinting sage of spaghetti Westerns with a pen and a typewriter, then what on God’s rugged, sunburned earth was Taylor Sheridan thinking by sidelining his creative input in Yellowstone?
I mean, what if he had been given the reins to write his own character’s destiny? Would John Dutton have been more than just a rancher with a penchant for violence? Perhaps a patriarch grappling with the changing tides of time?...

Kevin Costner has established himself as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood through his grit and talent. While the 70-year-old has starred in dozens of projects, it was one of the 80s’ superhit shows, not even his own, that defined his career.
Like every aspiring star, the multiple Oscar winner was once a promising actor trying to find his footing in Hollywood. It was Brian De Palma’s breakout hit, The Untouchables, in 1987, that changed the script for Costner. However, as is the intrigue of Hollywood, the Yellowstone star was not the first choice of De Palma for playing the charismatic G-Man in the slick action film.
In fact, Costner landed the role of the Prohibition agent only when De Palma’s original choice Don Johnson refused. Johnson’s refusal, on the other hand, can be attributed to his success as the lead actor of one of NBC’s iconic dramas.

In the vast, wild, and often unforgiving expanse of Yellowstone, where a man’s word is his bond and loyalty is tested by both the land and blood, Taylor Sheridan did something rather audacious. He wrote a character that wasn’t merely a protagonist but a symbolic figure of moral ambiguity. At the heart of this gritty, modern-day Western is Kevin Costner, who is no mere actor playing a role but the soul of Yellowstone itself.
There’s a certain magnetism about Costner. Maybe it’s his innate cowboy charm, the gravitas in his every line, or simply the fact that he’s the walking embodiment of the American ideal. But Sheridan saw in him something deeper, a vessel to explore the nuances of power, loyalty, and survival.

Fans famously know Kevin Costner for his role as John Dutton in the Yellowstone universe. And while he had said goodbye to the show, he actually took a bold step in his career by directing and starring in Horizon: An American Saga.
The movie had a huge budget, as it was the actor’s passion project that he had been working on for years. But getting it made wasn’t easy despite Costner’s name being attached to it, so when no director was ready to direct it, Costner took matters into his own hands.

Yeah… that’s a skill that only Yellowstone star Kevin Costner can possess, and he is damn proud of it too. The actor, who looks like a cowboy, has found fame through some iconic roles in television shows and movies.
One of his most prominent and famous roles was that of John Dutton in the 2018 Taylor Sheridan show Yellowstone. Although the main actor, Kevin Costner, often had the opportunity to direct an episode, he did it the good-old John Dutton way!
Kevin Costner directed his episodes while on horseback!
Well, that’s the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. Although renowned directors might be doing it all the time while making cowboy movies, Kevin Costner is one of the first people to say it out loud.

It turns out, people are willing to go to pretty extreme lengths to win $50,000, as the promo for Greg Gutfeld’s upcoming Fox Nation game show proves in an exclusive clip shared with TheWrap on Thursday.
“Greg Gutfeld’s What Did I Miss?” looks to answer the following question: Can four contestants guess which headlines are real and which are fake news from President Trump’s first 100 days back in the White House? The contestants will have their work cut out for them.
As the “Gutfeld!” host explains in the teaser clip, the contestants have been locked in a remote farmhouse in upstate New York that looks like it could be the weekend getaway for a Wall Street hedge fund manager — or the location of the next “Amityville Horror” flick.
“These four contestants have been totally isolated since Inauguration Day,” Gutfeld explains. “No cell phone; no live television; no Internet,...

Kayce's Yellowstonespinoff is moving forward at CBS, gaining a new title and a release window. The new chapter in the Yellowstone franchise was first announced in March, with Luke Grimes' Kayce Dutton as one of a few key Yellowstone characters getting a spinoff. Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) are also headlining their spinoff, albeit for Paramount+, which will effectively continue the massively popular Western series created by Taylor Sheridan.
CBS has unveiled its schedule for the 2025-2026 broadcast television season, with Deadlineconfirming that the Kayce-centric spinoffY: Marshals has been added to the network's midseason lineup and has a spring 2026 release window. Grimes will reprise his role as Kayce Dutton, joining an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. It will air on Sundays at 9 P.M. It's worth noting that Y: Marshals is the working title and is subject to change.

Jon Hamm won't be part of "Landman" season 2, at least not unless it's through dream or flashback sequences. That's because his character, Monty, dies in season 1, but Hamm is confident that Demi Moore's Cami will fill the void he's leaving behind in future episodes of Taylor Sheridan's oil drama. That remains to be seen, but viewers will probably miss seeing Hamm's no-nonsense oil mogul chopping it up with Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy Norris.
The good news, though, is that the actor only had positive experiences working on "Landman" and even went so far as to describe it as the best audition he's ever had during an interview with "The Rich Eisen Show" (via Whiskey Riff). So, what made Sheridan's series stand out from the countless other auditions he's had to endure? According to Hamm:
"[Sheridan] has this massive ranch down in West Texas in Weatherford –- just west of Fort Worth.

Have you watched Unforgiven? That gritty, Oscar-clad gem of a Western? Yep, the same one Clint Eastwood both directed and starred in, with a razor-sharp script by David Webb Peoples. Now that it’s streaming on Paramount+, there’s no excuse to miss it. Why? Trust us, watching Unforgiven is like holding the skeleton key to Taylor Sheridan’s mind: once you’ve seen it, Yellowstone’s dark heart makes a whole lot more sense.
We all know Sheridan didn’t just reboot the Western genre: he grabbed it by the horns, doused it in bourbon, and dragged it back into morally murky territory. And the blueprint? Unforgiven! From the haunted eyes of John Dutton to the no-holds-barred warpath of Beth, it’s Eastwood’s DNA stitched into every frame.

A man’s got to know his limitations… and still choose to defy them. That line is not from a movie, not yet, but it should be. Because that’s exactly what we thought when we found out Kevin Costner filmed most of Hidden Figures while in pain. No, seriously. While the world applauded his performance as Al Harrison, the no-nonsense NASA boss in the Oscar-nominated drama, the Yellowstone star was quietly fighting off kidney stones and crushing discomfort. He wanted to cry.
Yes, the actor nearly cried while filming Hidden Figures. And not because the script was moving, though it was, but because he was literally suffering in silence, acting his heart out with kidney stones tearing through him.

Isabelle Fuhrman didn’t hold back when talking about Horizon, and in doing so, she might’ve just exposed Kevin Costner’s biggest misstep. The Orphan star got real about feeling totally lost on set, admitting she was “in the same boat” as a bunch of confused castmates. That kind of behind-the-scenes chaos says a lot about Costner’s ambitious, multi-part Western.
While the actor-director clearly had a grand vision, it sounds like the execution left some of his own stars scrambling. Fuhrman’s brutally honest take is the kind of red flag Costner probably didn’t want waving this early in Horizon’s rollout.

Harrison Ford might’ve rocked the 1923 prequel like a pro, but he’s not done with the Yellowstone universe, at least not if Taylor Sheridan plays ball. Ford’s down for a return, but there’s one simple condition: it better be worth his time. He’s not here for filler.
At 80+, the man’s still riding strong, and if Sheridan can deliver the goods, we might just see Ford saddle up again for another round of Dutton drama. Now that’s star power – aging like fine whiskey.

Harrison Ford isn’t hanging up his cowboy hat just yet. The 1923 star made it clear: Jacob Dutton could return to the Yellowstone-verse but only if Taylor Sheridan agreed to one thing. “If he asks nice,” Ford quipped at a 1923 FYC event in LA, before adding, “I have no idea what his plans are.

Kevin Costner's Western film series, Horizon: An American Saga, keeps struggling to find some giddy-up following the mixed reception garnered by Chapter 1 last summer. The latest progress update from one of Chapter 1's stars suggests Chapter 2 is no closer to leaving its pasture than before.
Speaking with Screen Rant,Chapter 1 star Isabelle Fuhrman offered an uncertain Chapter 2 release update, claiming she has "no clue" what's happening with the follow-up or where Horizon goes from here. Though Fuhrman, who stars as Diamond Kittredge in Horizon, is sure Costner is "up to something" with the film, she is as in the dark about it as the fans are. “No, I wish. I'm in the same boat as you," she said. "I really hope that we get to see the second one. I have no clue what Kevin's planning, but he's probably planning something. And, yeah, no, I'm a really big fan of the second film.

When it comes to television, looks can be deceiving. In Taylor Sheridan’s 1923, Jacob Dutton looks like the perfect Western hero with his rugged appearance and fearless personality, played by the iconic Harrison Ford. He looks like the kind of character who commands respect and fights for his family.
But even Ford tells the audience that there’s nothing in the character that needs to be idolized by fans. In an interview, the legendary actor delved deeper into his character and detailed why Jacob is not a saint leading the way.

Kevin Costner and Dennis Quaid are like two sides of the same coin. They have winning smiles and frequently portray the all-American, wholesome, letterman-jacket type — the kind that starred in the popular genre films of the 1990s: rom-coms and sports movies. They previously worked together in the Western flop "Wyatt Earp," but they almost starred in another film: "Tin Cup."
Released in 1996, "Tin Cup" sought to emulate the success of Costner's sensual baseball rom-com "Bull Durham" (which is generally ranked among Costner's all-time best movies). Both films revolve around a love triangle between a talented but underachieving athlete and an equally talented star, with sports serving as a way of life that helps the love interests bond and learn more about one another. In "Tin Cup" specifically, Costner plays Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy, a cynical, chaotic slob and the complete opposite of David Simms (Don Johnson), the preppy, suave, PGA...

Orphan breakout star Isabelle Fuhrman is steadily carving out her place as a modern horror icon. While she's explored a variety of genres, including the romantic drama Wish You Were Here (2025) and Kevin Costner’s epic Western Horizon: An American Saga, horror is quickly becoming the most prominent thread in her career. With her spine-chilling performance in Orphan: First Kill(2022), Fuhrman helped elevate what was once an underappreciated title into a full-fledged horror franchise. She’s set to return as the eerie Esther in the next installment, tentatively titled Orphan 3. The Lionsgate-backed project appears to be gaining momentum, with Fuhrman recently offering a promising update on the anticipated threequel.
A third Orphan film was officially greenlit in late December, with Fuhrman revealing shortly afterward that a script was already in place. The actress previously praised the screenplay as too good to pass up, sharing that the storyline was...

1923 star Harrison Ford has revealed if he would return to the Yellowstone universe as Jacob Dutton after the season 2 finale of its latest TV show. 1923 season 2 ended with Jacob (Ford) deciding to retire, helping his wife, Cara (Hele Mirren) in raising their grandson, John Dutton II. While the show later flashes forward to 1969, showing an elderly Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) dying at after visitin his wife Alexandra's (Julia Schlaepfer) grave, it leaves a multi-decade time gap in between that has yet to be filled by the franchise.

Kevin Costner is one such storyteller whose films are known for their heartwarming stories and creative nuances. It is, however, not only his finished cinema but also his personal anecdotes behind a film’s creation that add to the rich movie-going experience.
It is often said that the pen is mightier than the sword, or simply put, words are more powerful than violence. Costner, 70, would probably be one of those people who had to agree with it wholeheartedly.
After all, words, albeit laced with far-fetched embellishments, helped him win over billionaire George Steinbrenner in a battle of wills, which allowed the Oscar winner to use the Yankees’ Stadium.

At a FYC event for the series in Los Angeles on Sunday, Ford — who plays patriarch Jacob Dutton, opposite Helen Mirren’s Cara — told The Hollywood Reporter he thought the way the show ended with the season two finale “was fantastic — I thought it was very tight storytelling and I was absolutely delighted with it. It’s probably the densest script and work that I’ve had a chance to work on in a long, long time.”
Mirren joked she was “convinced that I was going to die so I was quite surprised I was still alive at the end of the show”; indeed the second season ended with both Mirren and Ford’s characters surviving, while Alex (played by Julia Schlaepfer) finally makes it...

Taylor Sheridan got his start writing action movies like Sicario and Sicario: Day of the Soldado, but after writing scripts for blockbusters for a few years, he made his famous transition to television. Sheridan began his work on TV with Yellowstone, the contemporary Western series starring Kevin Costner, which was such a success that it spawned two spin-off series. One of which, 1923, wrapped up its second and final season last month on April 6, but it has since returned to Paramount+ streaming charts almost exactly one month after going off the air, sitting at #10 at the time of writing. The show stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, and its second season earned a perfect 100% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, along with a “rotten” 49% rating from general audiences.
Although Taylor Sheridan may have become best known for his work on Yellowstone and its subsequent spin-offs, he’s also created a handful of...

Let us shoot straight; if storytelling were rodeo, Taylor Sheridan would be the last man riding when the dust settles. We mean, here’s a guy who took cowboy hats, moral ambiguity, and the open sky and spun them into TV gold. And now Paramount is thinking of tightening the purse strings? Isn’t that like asking Gordon Ramsay to cook with canned beans and a microwave?
Sheridan’s shows aren’t just expensive; they bleed authenticity, and that comes at a price. With Paramount merging with Skydance and budget axes swinging under new leadership like David Ellison and Cindy Holland, Sheridan’s signature high-dollar productions are suddenly sitting on a wobbly saddle. Think $12–16 million an episode, while the new sheriff in town wants it closer to $9 million.
So what gives? Why does this cowboy cost so much? And can Paramount really afford to lose their golden horseman?

Taylor Sheridan may be pointing fingers at Kevin Costner for Yellowstone’s sudden sunset, but let’s be real, it’s not the full story. Sure, scheduling drama and behind-the-scenes tension didn’t help, but if 1923 Season 2 is any clue, Sheridan’s creative tank might be running on empty. The sprawling spin-off looks great on paper, but it’s starting to feel more like aesthetic filler than frontier fire.
So blaming it all on Costner? A little too convenient. Maybe Yellowstone’s end wasn’t just about clashing egos, it might’ve been about a story that had already ridden off into the narrative sunset.
Kevin Costner’s exit killed Yellowstone but 1923 says otherwise Kevin Costner as John Dutton in Yellowstone | Credits: Paramount Network
So Taylor Sheridan says Kevin Costner is why Yellowstone ended early. And sure, that’s the headline but after watching 1923 Season 2, I’m not totally buying it.

Phil Alden Robinson's 1989 sports drama "Field of Dreams" is Americana at its corniest. In many ways, literally; the main character, Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner), bulldozes a large portion of his corn farm in order to build a brand-new baseball diamond. Ray did so at the behest of a ghostly voice that instructed him, "If you build it, he will come." Sure enough, when he builds the diamond, the ghost of "Shoeless Joe" Jackson (Ray Liotta) appears on it, still wearing his Boston Black Sox uniform, and converses with him.
Ghosts, time travel, and premonitions are a big part of "Field of Dreams," and it's implied that baseball itself is connected to divine powers that are eager to grant related wishes, calm hearts, allow for post-mortem redemption, and provide reconciliation between fathers and sons. Case in point: Ray and his wife Annie (Amy Madigan) have a dream about Fenway Park in Boston,...

The second movie in Kevin Costner’s massively ambitious, costly, and troubled Western franchise, Horizon, has been waiting in the wings for a release for what seems like a very long time. According to one star of the movie, despite several premieres and tentative dates for its release, the future of Horizon looks bleak and stuck in hostile territory.
Kevin Costner’s future seemed to be incredibly straightforward and certain a few years ago. He was the lead character in the mighty Yellowstone, and then he had this huge, ambitious Western project of his own bubbling away in the background. Then he decided that the movie saga that would become Horizon could not wait any longer, which led to him departing Taylor Sheridan’s hit series under a cloud and Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 hitting theaters in 2024, with the second part expected to follow a couple of months later.

Taylor Sheridan might be single-handedly responsible for making the Western genre cool again. Ever since the 1970s, when Westerns went out of style, the genre has sort of limped along, with some standout entries managing to draw critical praise and awards wins without reinvigorating the genre as a whole. But Sheridan has seemingly made everyone a fan once again, beginning with his massively popular neo-western series "Yellowstone."
The man's TV empire has expanded rapidly ever since, with multiple "Yellowstone" spin-offs creating an entire franchise centered around the travails of the Dutton family. If you thought it was Kevin Costner and the modern setting that made "Yellowstone" a hit, spin-offs "1883" and "1923" have proved that's not the case. In the wake of all this, others have tried to join in on this Western renaissance, most conspicuously, Netflix, which has churned out hits such as Western series "American Primeval" and "Ransom Canyon,...

Clint Eastwood has always reigned over the landscape of American western cinema with an iron fist. His memorable portrayal of earnest cowboys of few words was unrivaled until Kevin Costner made an equally grand entry to spice up the movies from the wild west.
While we are not going into the debate regarding who should be crowned the undisputed king of the Hollywood Westerns, Costner, in Dances With Wolves, did something which even Eastwood’s mystical thespian abilities failed to match. No, we are not talking about who is the better director between the two, but rather we are trying to point out how Costner’s cinematic poetry aided in resuscitating a dying genre by breathing a fresh lease of life.

For the last century or so, Western cinema charmed a major section of the cinema-goers’ imagination.

We are almost to an unofficial holiday. Every May 4th is a goofy and fun one for fans of the Star Wars franchise.
But let's say, like every human being, you have seen all things Star Wars 50 times or many more times. You might want to see something some actors have been in, but not as part of your favorite sci-fi works. You're in luck because Netflix has options.
Sure, what your favorite streamer has regarding Harrison Ford projects is limited, but there are other people besides Han Solo. The four titles below will all be worth watching. Maybe start with the leading suggestion first, though.
Netflix titles every Star Wars fan will love without actually watching Star WarsThe Fall of the House of Usher (Mark Hamill)

Apple TV+’s The Mosquito Coast drama series premiered with seven episodes in 2021 starring Justin Theroux, Melissa George, Logan Polish, and more. Neil Cross developed the show loosely based on the novel of the same name by Paul Theroux, which was published in 1981. The story follows an inventor who uproots his family on a dangerous quest to find refuge from the U.S. government, hitmen, and cartels.
Upon release, The Mosquito Coast, critics believed that even though the show was visually very impressive, it lacked direction in terms of narrating the stories of the characters in the show. It failed to impress the audience and critics. The show has a very unique connection to Harrison Ford.

While Kevin Costner had high hopes for Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2, its release future remains in doubt. The upcoming Horizon sequel has already been screened to critics at international film festivals, but general audiences have not yet had the chance to see it. The delay stems from Chapter 1's struggles at the box office after it earned under $40 million against a $50 million budget. The sequel was largely completed when the first movie was released, and it was expected to debut just two months later. After the disappointing returns, however,Chapter 2 was indefinitely delayed.
In an interview with ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns about her thriller, Unit 234, Isabelle Fuhrman (Diamond) admitted that she remains unsure of Horizon's future. While she hopes to see an eventual release, Costner has not contacted her about a potential release. Fuhrman is especially interested in the sequel, as it "captures so much more...

It’s truly a sad event for a fan when one of the most promising movies of the 80s never made it to the big screens, all because of a location request. That’s right, the same happened with Sgt. Rock. The movie has Arnold Schwarzenegger as the lead, and the creative powerhouse team behind Die Hard to back it up.
With such a dream lineup, it was already promising to be a massive hit, but behind the scenes, a surprising twist derailed it all, and it also had a unique Clint Eastwood connection.
How did Clint Eastwood accidentally derail an Arnold Schwarzenegger blockbuster?
All the way back in the 1980s, Hollywood was all set to make a big action-packed movie called Sgt. Rock based on the popular DC comics character. Everything seemed to be on the right track with Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the biggest action stars of the time,...

Whether it was as Bruce Wayne or the Dark Knight himself, Michael Keaton owned the cape and cowl in Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns. Even today, decades later, fans still argue in dimly lit forums about who the best Batman is. Sure, Affleck looked like he could bench press a bus, but let’s be completely honest—he was no Michael Keaton. But now, a recent interview has fans wondering if Alec Baldwin could have done a better job as Batman instead of Keaton. What many don’t realise is that Keaton almost didn’t get the gig. Warner Bros. was basically playing a game of Batman Tinder, swiping right on names like Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, Charlie Sheen, Tom Selleck, Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, and Dennis Quaid before director Tim Burton swiped left on everyone and doubled down on Keaton as Batman. But guess who else wanted the role?...

When Kevin Costner chose not to appear on the much-acclaimed fifth and final season of Yellowstone, partially due to scheduling conflicts and largely to focus on his latest western, Horizon: An American Saga, hearts were broken. In doing so, the Oscar winner not only denounced the chance of encashing a hefty paycheck but also invested a significant amount of his own money to make the project see the light of day.
While the 70-year-old is no stranger to taking risks when it comes to pursuing his passion for western films, this is hardly the first time that he has chosen the creative freedom of the director’s seat over the lure of an eye-watering salary. In fact, in his prime, Costner left a lucrative opportunity to star with one of his idols – Sean Connery – in The Hunt for Red October that went on to gross over $200 million in the 1990s.

Don’t confuse silence with peace; sometimes it’s just the eye of the storm. That’s a thought that popped the moment we watched Sicario… and it’s stuck with us ever since. Taylor Sheridan didn’t hand us a clean-cut narrative; he dropped us into the fog and dared us to find clarity.
At its core, the film serves as a raw, unvarnished plate of brutal truths: the drug war, the creeping influence of the U.S. military on foreign soil, and the moral decay disguised as justice. Sheridan, who once made his bones as an actor, used Sicario to dissect the lawless modern frontier like a surgeon with a blunt scalpel. And no, he didn’t tie it up with a neat bow, because life (especially life on the edges of war and law) doesn’t come with easy answers.

Some of us are born in the spotlight, and some of us build it brick by brick. That’s the thought that danced in our heads the first time we heard Taylor Sheridan talk about his journey from the sidelines of Hollywood to the frontlines of storytelling. We’ve always admired people who call a spade a spade, and Sheridan didn’t just do that; he tossed the whole deck and rewrote the rules.
He’d been in the biz since ’95, dipping his toes into acting, only to realize he was paddling in someone else’s pond. His roles weren’t paying the bills or feeding his creative fire. And instead of waiting for a seat at the table, he carved his own chair and wrote the damn menu – Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River, and a Yellowstone universe that even Kevin Costner couldn’t ignore. Sheridan didn’t whine.

“I had the time of my life… and I owe it all to you…” crooned Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, and that’s exactly how many of us might have felt watching Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River: Taylor Sheridan’s hat trick of cinematic brilliance. But then? Just like your favorite indie band selling out to do car commercials, Sheridan probably packed up his grit and gravitas, tossed his writer’s pen into a pile of ranch dust, and saddled up to milk Yellowstone for every billion it’s worth. Pun absolutely intended!
Let’s not beat around the bush; Sheridan was on a creative bender for the ages. One movie after another, each sharper than a cactus in cowboy boots. He was slicing through the American psyche like a hot knife through gun oil. Then, instead of diving deeper into raw, jagged-edge storytelling, he planted his...
