Ralph Fiennes to play President Snow in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

Ralph Fiennes, coming off his Oscar-nominated turn in Conclave, has taken a major role in Hunger Games prequel Sunrise on the Reaping. He will play President Coriolanus Snow, the authoritarian leader of Panem. The role was played as an older man by Donald Sutherland in the 2010s Hunger Games films and as a young man by Tom Blyth in prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. This will of course be Fiennes' second time playing the iconic villain from a massively popular young adult book franchise; he previously played Voldemort in the Harry Potter movies. "We wanted to honor Donald Sutherland by having one of this generation’s greatest actors play President Snow 24 years before Katniss Everdeen entered the arena," producer Nina Jacobson said in a statement announcing Fiennes' casting.

Unlike former co-star Noah Wyle’s return to the medical procedural genre with “The Pitt,” Clooney will be taking to the small screen via The Great White Way. For the last few months, he’s been performing at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre in a theatrical adaptation of his 2005 Oscar-nominated biopic “Good Night and Good Luck.” Now he’ll bring that story back to the place it first started: on television.

Airing Saturday, June 7 on CNN, CNN will air a live performance of “Good Night and Good Luck” in what will be the Broadway show’s penultimate performance. It’s also the first time in Broadway history a play has been televised live.

As per The New York Times, the play will be preceded and followed by coverage and discussion around the show, it’s history, and the current state of journalism.

CNN will air the second-to-last performance of “Good Night, and Good Luck,” the record-breaking play written by and starring George Clooney in which he portrays legendary broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow.

“Good Night, and Good Luck” will air its penultimate performance at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre live on Saturday, June 7, at 7 p.m. Et across CNN, CNN International and streaming on cnn.com. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thunderbolts*is quickly on its way to surpassing what some may consider one of DC’s worst superhero movies ever. The latest MCU installment, led by Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and Wyatt Russell, could pass 1997’s widely-panned Batman & Robin on a list of The Numbers’ top 100 superhero movies.

Thunderbolts*, from director Jake Schreier, easily took the top spot during its debut weekend and has quickly earned $86 million at the domestic box office. The 32-year-old singer and actor hit the diamond for the latest Broadway League Softball Game on Thursday afternoon (May 8) held in Central Park in New York City.

The Masked Singer is back!

The season 13 Finals of the hit Fox singing competition series aired on Wednesday night (May 7).

The show, which began in South Korea, features celebrities singing songs while wearing costumes and face masks concealing their identities until they’re eliminated. Throughout the season, the contestants provide clues to try and help the judges and fans figure out who is under the mask.

This season includes the new costumed character Detective Lucky Duck, who will help panelists “uncover who’s behind each mask.”

During the episode, Top Four contestants Boogie Woogie, Mad Scientist Monster, Pearl, and Coral hit the stage for another performance.

While on stage, Boogie Woogie performed “Freedom! 90″ by George Michael.

Exclusive: The Penguin breakout Rhenzy Feliz is the newest addition to the cast of How to Rob a Bank, director David Leitch’s bank heist actioner for Amazon MGM Studios, Imagine Entertainment, and 87North Productions.

Written by Mark Bianculli, the film’s plot remains under wraps for now, as does Feliz’s role alongside Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai, and Pete Davidson.

87North’s Kelly McCormick and Leitch will produce alongside Imagine’s Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum, with Bianculli exec producing. The film enters production this summer and is slated for release in theaters on September 4, 2026.
