The Bondsman’s resurrection was short-lived, it turns out: Prime Video has cancelled the Kevin Bacon-led supernatural series after one season, TVLine has confirmed. (Our sister site Deadline first reported the news.)

Bacon starred as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who was murdered on the job and then was brought back to life so he could hunt down demons who have escaped hell and bring them back to the fiery depths. Season 1 debuted on Prime Video on April 3 with all eight episodes.

Exclusive: Shane Gillis has joined the cast of the Amazon MGM Studios film Madden. He will play an original character, one close to the Madden clan.

David O. Russell is directing the film, which stars Nicolas Cage as John Madden, Christian Bale as Al Davis, John Mulaney as Trip Hawkins, Kathryn Hahn as Virginia Madden and Sienna Miller as Carol Davis. Production is currently underway.

Russell is directing a script he wrote, following an earlier version by Cambron Clark. Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch are producing alongside Jonathan Shukat, Russell, Matthew Budman and Colin Wilson. Exclusive: Ryan Kiera Armstrong has landed the lead opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, which has a pilot order at Hulu. Armstrong will play the new slayer in the untitled Buffyverse project, which Gellar executive produces in addition to reprising her signature role as Buffy Summers.

Oscar winner Chloé Zhao is directing the pilot, written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. No additional information has been provided about the project, referred to as the next chapter in the Buffyverse, which comes from 20th Television and Searchlight TV. Perkins is set to continue making movies for Neon thanks to a new first-look deal involving his new banner, Phobos. The Hollywood Reporter shares that the director will run his company alongside partner Chris Ferguson and under the deal, "Neon will serve as the home for Perkins' projects, which he and Ferguson will produce."

Additionally, the deal allows for Phobos co-owners Perkins and Ferguson to produce other movies being released by Neon, who will be responsible for the theatrical releases in the United States and represent that international sales.

The syndicated Star Search originally aired from 1983 to 1995, with Ed McMahon, who passed away in 2009, serving as host. In the Netflix update, “The talent is bigger, the stakes are higher, and the format is more interactive than ever,” we are told.

Acclaimed horror filmmaker Osgood Perkins continues to give audiences something completely different from what he’s done before with the arrival of the debut teaser for Keeper. However, it's not perhaps the teaser some may be expecting, as, in perfect Osgood Perkins fashion, Keeper is already kicking off a very unusual marketing campaign. A new livestream posted by Neon sees Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) staring at the camera and writing something in a seemingly endless loop, giving viewers an ominous taste of what's to come in the mysterious new project.

The film, which is due out later this year, is the latest in the filmmaker’s string of horror projects, and looks to deliver something from a completely different subgenre than what we saw in The Monkey and Longlegs. Starring Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland (Orphan: First Kill), the movie follows a couple who travel to a remote cabin in the woods.

Osgood Perkins is becoming something of royalty in the horror category as the offspring of one of the most iconic names in the genre, plus carving out his own path with a directing career. Perkins is well established as a director, but his star rose further recently with the atmospheric serial killer film Longlegs and his latest dark comedy horror film The Monkey, which was based on a Stephen King story. Now, Perkins is being given the keys to the low-to-mid-budget horror kingdom as he signs a new deal with Neon and launches his own banner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perkins is now partnered with Neon on a first-look deal and he has launched Phobos — a new film banner that he will be running with his partner Chris Ferguson. MCU icon Elizabeth Olsen, known for playing Wanda Maximoff in the superhero franchise, has joined Oscar Isaac and Kristen Stewart for the latest project by Panos Cosmatos titled Flesh of the Gods. Neon is moving up in the world (winning Best Picture twice will do that) and has formed its first ever first-look deal with a filmmaker. It’s fitting and perhaps unsurprising that it’s none other than “Longlegs” and “The Monkey” director Osgood Perkins.

As part of his new first-look deal, Perkins has also launched a production banner he’s calling Phobos. Alongside his partner Chris Ferguson, the projects that Perkins and Phobos produce for other filmmakers will be included in the first-look arrangement with Neon, as will any of the movies Perkins himself writes and directs. All the films will be released theatrically in the U.S. by Neon, and Neon will also represent the international sales rights on those titles.

The agreement cements Neon’s relationship with Perkins, who has established himself as an influential force in the horror genre. Neon acquired Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage, and The Monkey, based on the short story by Stephen King. Longless broke the $100M barrier globally, making it Neon‘s highest-grossing film ever and the best-performing indie horror for the past 10 years.

Entertainment Weekly shared the first image from the Madden biopic, which was announced in 2024. David O. Russell is set to direct, with other big names set to star. Madden will focus on the NFL coach and commentator's career, including the popular John Madden Football and Madden NFL video games. As Madden served as the Raiders’ head coach from 1969 – 1978, that would put this picture sometime after the team’s Super Bowl XI victory over the Minnesota Vikings. That would be Madden’s only Super Bowl win, although Davis would go on to win it again in 1981 and 1984 (after the Raiders moved to Los Angeles.

The world of NFL is about to go into a frenzy as the biographical sports drama on the late iconic legend John Madden, gears up to soon make a splash in the entertainment industry. Starring Christian Bale and Nicolas Cage as leading figures of the Raiders team, it might as well be one of the most anticipated sports flicks ever.

After all, Cosmatos is the director of Mandy, the unhinged Nicolas Cage revenge thriller that treated us to one of Cage’s wildest performances – and that’s saying something.

Per Deadline, Olsen has just joined Twilight's Kristen Stewart and Dune: Part One's Oscar Isaac in the vampire thriller Flesh of the Gods. The film is described as a "hedonistic '80s vampire thriller," and will have Mandy director Panos Cosmatos at the helm. Stewart and Isaac's casting was announced early this month.

Sony Pictures has hit the pause button on their “Spider-Man” spinoff projects exploring various heroes and villains from the pages of Marvel Comics. In the meantime, Sony Television and Amazon MGM Studios have teamed on a live-action superhero series, “Spider-Noir,” starring Nicolas Cage as his “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” character.

There is finally an update as Amazon Prime Video has sent a first look image of Cage in costume as the titular variant superhero to share.

Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” continued to lead the U.K. and Ireland box office into the second week of May, holding onto the top spot for Disney with a weekend gross of £2.3 million ($3.1 million). That brings its total to $15.6 million.

Warner Bros.’ “Sinners” continued its strong run in second place, adding $1.4 million in its fourth weekend and crossing $17.5 million overall. “A Minecraft Movie” took third with $834,597 in its sixth frame, boosting its cumulative total to $73.6 million.

A strong new entry in fourth place, “Ocean With David Attenborough” from Altitude Film Distribution earned $770,625 on debut. Warner Bros.’ “The Accountant 2” held fifth with $305,004, reaching $1.5 million overall, while Sony’s horror entry “Until Dawn” followed in sixth with $254,965, and is now at $2.1 million after three weeks.

Vertigo Releasing’s “The Surfer”, starring Nicolas Cage, opened in seventh with $177,432. In eighth, Lionsgate U.K.’s “The Penguin Lessons” added $136,680 to bring its total to $4 million.

As for Monday, we're kicking things off with an official look at Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man in Amazon and MGM+'s Spider-Noir TV series.

The wall-crawling private investigator has already been spotted in set photos, but this spectacular black-and-white image is like seeing the comic books—and 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—come to life in live-action.

Cage can be seen striking an iconic Spider-Man pose and will clearly be able to shoot webs in the show. Whether Spider-Noir can right the ship for Sony after disappointments like Madame Web, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter remains to be seen.
