- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroCathy MoriartyJoe PesciThe life of boxer Jake LaMotta, whose violence and temper that led him to the top in the ring destroyed his life outside of it.The movie of his that most inspires me, while also being his most bleak. It's the film that saved his life and contains perhaps his most human character. Top-notch performances by DeNiro and Pesci, maybe their best. This is what happens when Rocky gets pulled into the real world.
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroJodie FosterCybill ShepherdA mentally unstable veteran works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City, where the perceived decadence and sleaze fuels his urge for violent action. The best incel movie. Birthed a sub-culture of creepy losers.
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroSharon StoneJoe PesciIn Las Vegas, two best friends - a casino executive and a mafia enforcer - compete for a gambling empire and a fast-living, fast-loving socialite.I know people will be mad that I placed this above Goodfellas, but here's the thing. It's better in every single conceivable way. Including and especially enjoyment. Sharon Stone is fantastic. Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro play off each other better than they do in Goodfellas. Bobby DeNiro's in the lead, as he should be. There are fewer iconic moments yet many of them deserve to be iconic, meaning that they aren't tired scenes and lines that have been done to death in parodies like almost all the iconic moments in Goodfells. Las Vegas makes for a unique setting and allows for an interesting palette of colours n such. But, I will say that without Goodfellas, Casino would not be what it is, but that's the reason why it's better, it expands on what Goodfellas sets up.
