- DirectorTerence YoungStarsSean ConneryClaudine AugerAdolfo CeliJames Bond heads to the Bahamas to recover two nuclear warheads stolen by S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Agent Emilio Largo in an international extortion scheme. The best Bond film. Wonderful production and the most spectacular of the series. Connery at his most athletic, with great script, supporting cast and music. Claudine Auger is also the best Bond girl. The underwater battle has never been bettered. Terrence Young's best Bond.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsSean ConneryAkiko WakabayashiMie HamaJames Bond and the Japanese Secret Service must find and stop the true culprit of a series of space hijackings, before war is provoked between Russia and the United States.Roald Dahl's script and terrific cinematography make this one of the best. The pace is fantastic, the music grand. This is Lewis Gilbert's best Bond.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsSean ConneryGert FröbeHonor BlackmanWhile investigating a gold magnate's smuggling, James Bond uncovers a plot to contaminate the Fort Knox gold reserve. The pace and style of this film helped the following two to just pip this one out of the top slot. Guy Hamilton's best Bond aided by a terrific cast giving us some of the most memorable characters as created by Ian Fleming.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreMaud AdamsLouis JourdanA fake Fabergé egg recovered from the body of a fellow agent leads James Bond to uncover a jewel smuggling operation led by the mysterious Octopussy, and a plot to blow up a NATO air base.Roger Moore's best Bond and a welcome return to the grand epic Bond's of the 60s. Non stop pace and a great script by George MacDonald Fraser help things greatly.
- DirectorPeter R. HuntStarsGeorge LazenbyDiana RiggTelly SavalasBritish agent James Bond goes undercover to pursue the villainous Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who is planning to hold the world to ransom.First off, Lazenby was far superior to Dalton, Brosnan and the hopelessly mis-cast Craig. Fine direction, cinematography, editing and script. This film also features the best John Barry Bond score. I think the film would have been better with a less sterile leading lady.
My only slight complaint. - DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreCarole BouquetTopolSecret service agent James Bond is assigned to find a missing British vessel equipped with a weapons encryption device and prevent it from falling into enemy hands. With the competion at the box office in the guise of Indiana Jones, after the lamentable 70s, this well paced Bond took the series back on top. John Glen's Moore films are terribly under-rated.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreChristopher WalkenTanya RobertsThe recovery of a microchip from the body of a fellow British secret agent leads James Bond to a mad industrialist scheming to cause massive destruction.A little bit too long, but still a fine Bond film with some great action sequences.
- DirectorTerence YoungStarsSean ConneryRobert ShawLotte LenyaJames Bond willingly falls into an assassination plot involving a naive Russian beauty in order to retrieve a Soviet encryption device that was stolen by S.P.E.C.T.R.E.Almost now looking like 'Film Noir' it settled the urgency of 'Dr.No' and gave Bond more grace and purpose. Creates a fine cold war atmosphere and has great supporting cast.
- DirectorRoger SpottiswoodeStarsPierce BrosnanJonathan PryceMichelle YeohJames Bond sets out to stop a media mogul's plan to induce war between China and the UK in order to obtain exclusive global media coverage.Terrific pace make up for the fact that this is a remake of 'The Spy Who Loved Me' which was in turn a remake of 'You Only Live Twice'!! But that is why it works. Little point changing a formula if it works. This is David Arnold's best Bond score. Michelle Yeo is the second best Bond Girl. Brosnan's best Bond.
- DirectorLee TamahoriStarsPierce BrosnanHalle BerryRosamund PikeJames Bond is sent to investigate the connection between a North Korean terrorist and a diamond mogul, who is funding the development of an international space weapon.Too long and has a few too many OTT stunts, but it is epic and the 'laser thingy' ( stolen from the UNCLE movie - The Helicopter Spies) is great fun.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsTimothy DaltonRobert DaviCarey LowellA vengeful James Bond goes rogue to infiltrate and take down the organization of a drug lord who has murdered his friend's new wife and left him near death.Dalton's best Bond. The pace is slow but packs a punch when it does get moving. Davi is a fine villain and Carey Lowell 4th best Bond girl.
- DirectorTerence YoungStarsSean ConneryUrsula AndressBernard LeeA resourceful British government agent seeks answers in a case involving the disappearance of a colleague and the disruption of the American space program.Setting the series on the move, the film of interest mainly for that reason.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsRoger MooreYaphet KottoJane SeymourJames Bond is sent to stop a diabolically brilliant heroin magnate armed with a complex organisation and a reliable psychic tarot card reader.Different in style, although delivered by Guy Hamilton again, the film is ruined by a bargain basement ending!! It's as if they had run out of money. Yaphet Kotto is very good, George Martin's score fabulous, but Jane Seymour just too pure.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsRoger MooreBarbara BachCurd JürgensJames Bond investigates the hijacking of British and Russian submarines carrying nuclear warheads, with the help of a K.G.B. agent whose lover he killed.Remake of 'You Only Live Twice' which must have made the job easy for Lewis Gilbert. Good music score, spectacular, but the film is too long and Jaws an absolutley useless villain. It re-booted the franchise but it is very familiar territory which is the main problem.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsRoger MooreLois ChilesMichael LonsdaleJames Bond investigates the mid-air theft of a space shuttle, and discovers a plot to commit global genocide. One of the best pre-credit sequences in the series, but film is too long. Not much else to say except the space special effects are very good, while others are poor.
- DirectorMichael AptedStarsPierce BrosnanSophie MarceauRobert CarlyleJames Bond uncovers a nuclear plot while protecting an oil heiress from her former kidnapper, an international terrorist who can't feel pain.Too long. Too Dull. Good score.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsSean ConneryJill St. JohnCharles GrayA diamond smuggling investigation leads James Bond to Las Vegas where he uncovers an evil plot involving a rich business tycoon. After OHMSS, the greed of not wanting to spend a lot of money on the production is evident. Connery took, it seems the budget with his hefty fee but after the epics of the mid to late 60s this film is just too lightweight. The 'big' ending of this film is awful after what people had come to expect. Jill St.John is Bond girl No3, but Charles Gray is dreadful.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsRoger MooreChristopher LeeBritt EklandJames Bond is targeted by the world's most expensive assassin, while he attempts to recover sensitive solar cell technology that is being sold to the highest bidder.Too long. Only Christopher Lee helps this film. The ending is protracted and it is not spectacular enough after the mid to late 60s epics Bond's.
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsPierce BrosnanSean BeanIzabella ScorupcoYears after a friend and fellow 00 agent is killed on a joint mission, a secret space based weapons program known as "GoldenEye" is stolen. James Bond is assigned to stop a Russian crime syndicate from using the weapon.Too Long. Dull as dirt.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsTimothy DaltonMaryam d'AboJeroen KrabbéJames Bond is sent to investigate a KGB policy to kill all enemy spies, and uncovers an arms deal that potentially has major global ramifications. The acting in this Bond film is dire and embarrasing. Jerome Krabbe, Joe Don Baker down to the one line extras are terrible. Last 45 minutes is OK, but all feeling rather lame after the 80s Moore films. Great music score by John Barry pounds the film along, but its too long and Dalton is pretty shiftless and dull.
- DirectorIrvin KershnerStarsSean ConneryKim BasingerKlaus Maria BrandauerA S.P.E.C.T.R.E. agent has stolen two American nuclear warheads, and James Bond must find their targets before they are detonated.A mistake. IF - they had had a more dynamic attack on the editing and a more spectacular ending, rather than the slow, plodding one in the final cut, there may have been some hope, because you can see what might have been..... Michel Legrand's score deadens the film. Being a re-make of the best Bond film makes it pretty impossible, but the female leads are good.
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsDaniel CraigEva GreenJudi DenchAfter earning 00 status and a licence to kill, secret agent James Bond sets out on his first mission as 007. Bond must defeat a private banker funding terrorists in a high-stakes game of poker at Casino Royale, Montenegro.Too long.Too long. Another Martin Campbell film attempting 're-entry'!! It does not work. Daniel Craig is hopeless and has no charm.
- DirectorSam MendesStarsDaniel CraigJavier BardemNaomie HarrisJames Bond's loyalty to M is tested when her past comes back to haunt her. When MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.Too long. Too long. Dull. Dull. Dull. Bond is ill. So I suppose this is how they can pass this lamentable non-event Bond film into a plea for our help and understanding. Not from me I'm afraid. The self-promoting publicity machine has been at work on all the Craig movies and has surprisingly got people believing these films are good!
- DirectorMarc ForsterStarsDaniel CraigOlga KurylenkoMathieu AmalricJames Bond descends into mystery as he tries to stop a mysterious organisation from eliminating a country's most valuable resource.Non- event. Thankfully short.
