Meanwhile, Donna finds out the mystery of Dr. Moon and the Girl.Incredible. The Acting is great, the writing is intense, the characters are well explored and interesting. The plot is inventive and emotional. The editing, music and direction are all great as well.
- DirectorEuros LynStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperNoel ClarkeThe Doctor, Mickey and Rose land on a spaceship in the 51st century only to find 18th century Versailles on board, the time of Madame De Pompadour! To find out what's going on the Doctor must enter Versailles and save Madame De Popmpadour but it turns into an emotional roller coaster for the Doctor. The Doctor has some amazing moments this episode. The plot is inventive and well told. Tennant is great, the dialogue is great and it's full of heart.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantLindsay DuncanPeter O'BrienIn a Mars base the inhabitants are being infected by a mysterious water creature which takes over its victims. The Doctor is thrust into the middle of this catastrophe knowing a larger one is waiting around the corner.Brilliant. The acting and direction are great. The plot is a great throwback, which still adds new elements to the Doctor's morality. Overall, a classic Doctor Who story with great emotional elements added.
- DirectorHettie MacdonaldStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanCarey MulliganSally Sparrow receives a cryptic message from the Doctor about a mysterious new enemy species that is after the TARDIS.Terrifying. Unique storytelling option, with a really well told mystery and great villains.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperCamille CoduriThe TARDIS crash lands in London on a parallel world, where Rose's dad is still alive, people are disappearing off the streets and one of the Doctor's deadliest enemies is about to be reborn. This story never bored me. The Cybermen are excellent and scary. The plot goes to interesting places. Mickey and Rose have great moments.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateTim McInnernyFinding themselves on the Ood-Sphere planet in the 42nd century, The Doctor and Donna discover the truth over the Ood's willingness to serve humankind.Great Episode. The themes are well explored, the editing and direction are great. Some plot elements are occasionally pointless, however, but overall a great story.
- DirectorJames StrongStarsDavid TennantKylie MinogueGeoffrey PalmerWhen disaster hits the Titanic, the Doctor uncovers a threat to the whole human race. Battling alongside aliens, saboteurs, robot Angels and a new friend called Astrid, can he stop the Christmas inferno?Great special. Great characters and production design. Good themes and Music.
- DirectorJames StrongStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperDanny WebbWhen the Doctor and Rose become stranded on a planet orbiting a black hole, they find a human expedition crew and their servants, the Ood, being terrorised by the Devil.Great new story with good storytelling, great characters and an excellent villain.
- DirectorAlice TroughtonStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateBillie PiperAs part of a well-deserved holiday, the Doctor takes a tour on a planet called Midnight. Little does he know that something is knocking on the walls, although the planet shouldn't be inhabited. Soon the passengers begin to panic when one of them is possessed.Really good. The beginning is quite average and the resolution is underwhelming, however the dialogue and acting completely carry the story beyond what it could have been. The characters are all great and the plot is unique.
- DirectorCharlie PalmerStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanJessica HynesIn 1913, Martha watches in jealousy from afar as The Doctor learns what it is to be human and to fall in love with the local school nurse, Joan Redfern.Sometimes its too dumb, but it still is emotionally satisfying and the characters have great moments.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateBillie PiperIn the wake of Davros' threat to destroy the existence of the Universe itself, the Doctor's companions unite to stop the Dalek empire. Which one will die by the prophecies and what will the fate be for the Doctor?Immensely satisfying. The plot flows with great pacing. The acting is great and the character reveals and choices are well handled, however there is some deus ex machina. The direction is stellar and the fan service is great, however I wish that Davros was given more to do.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperCamille CoduriEarth becomes a battleground for the Daleks and the Cybermen. With the whole planet at stake and the Genesis Ark activated, how much will the Doctor sacrifice in order to end the war?A bit long and dumb at some points ,but still emotionally resonant and has a well handled plot. Plus Daleks+Cyberman=The Best
- DirectorColin TeagueStarsDavid TennantCatherine TatePhil CornwellInstead of Rome, The Doctor and Donna Noble end up visiting Pompeii in AD 79, on the eve of the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Before anyone even knew it was actually a volcano, the entire city is doomed for destruction.I love how this story explores the morality of the doctor and his companion, however the plot around it is kind of dull. The production design, music and dialogue are all great still.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateBillie PiperWhat would happen if Donna never met the Doctor? How would Earth handle the Racnoss, the falling Titanic or the Sontarans? Aided by a familiar blonde time traveler, Donna corrects the alternate time line from happening.Intense. The acting is great, the plot is very unique and the direction is great. However the plot is filled with holes and doesn't really support itself as a one-off or story part. The episode making is quite standard as well, however it is a nice, darker, what-if episode.
- DirectorColin TeagueGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanJohn BarrowmanIt's been a year since The Master unleashed the mysterious Toclafane onto Earth. With the human race and The Doctor enslaved under The Master's control, Martha Jones is the only person that can help stop the evil Time Lord.Starts out amazing, but gets dumber and dumber. I really like the Doctor-Master dynamic and their conflict. The plotting and editing are excellent, by certain storytelling elements are just stupid.
- DirectorJames HawesStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperNoel ClarkeThe Krillitanes - aliens with a mix-and-match physiology - are trying to crack the 'God-Maker', a paradigm to give them ultimate power. They are using children as a computer, and only the Doctor and Rose, re-united with Sarah Jane Smith and K9 can prevent them from becoming masters of time and space. This episode was Fun as Hell. The villains were great. I liked the school setting and dialogue. It was nice seeing Sarah and K9 again.
- DirectorJames StrongStarsDavid TennantMichelle RyanLee EvansA meeting in a London bus with jewel thief Lady Christina takes a turn for the worst for the Doctor when the bus takes a detour to a desert-like planet, where the deadly Swarm awaits.Pretty Good. The UNIT parts drag and some of the plotlines are unnecessary, however the plot is unique enough, with good stakes and production design. Has some good moments, but doesn't justify its length.
- DirectorJames StrongStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateBillie PiperWith a new weight-loss pill tested in London by Adipose Industries, The Doctor goes to investigate the sinister truth behind the product, only to find out that his old friend Donna Noble is investigating as well.Good opener. The Doctor and Donna have great chemistry, the episode is funny. However then plot is weak in some places and the direction isn't great.
- DirectorCharlie PalmerStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanAnne ReidWhen medical student Martha Jones meets a mysterious stranger called The Doctor, and finds herself transported to the moon, her life will never be the same again.Good opener. Well handled plot and good Doctor-Companion moments, but nothing too special.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanMichelle CollinsOn a spaceship headed straight for the centre of the sun, the Doctor only has 42 minutes to save Martha and the ship's crew from an inevitable doom.Well paced and energetic. Good characters and great editing. Good production design and direction, but not much substance.
- DirectorDouglas MackinnonStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateFreema AgyemanWith planet Earth choking under the poison sky, the Doctor must stop the Sontarans' threat to the planet.Solid story. The production design, makeup and editing are great. The reintroduction of UNIT and the sontarans are great, however the plot was stupid and there was some weird writing.
- DirectorAlice TroughtonStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateFreema AgyemanCaught in the middle of a war between the Humans and the Hath in the planet Messaline, the Doctor finds himself once again a father.Quite good. The Doctor's daughter is quite fun, however lacking in much stakes. The Doctor has a lot to do, however the companions are side-lined to a generic plot.
- DirectorEuros LynStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateSarah ParishThe Doctor is baffled when a young woman is transported to the TARDIS on her wedding day, and attempts to find out how she is connected to an alien plot to destroy Earth.Plot is a bit generic and the villain is weird, but it's still quite entertaining and has some good moments.
- DirectorAndy GoddardStarsDavid TennantDavid MorrisseyDervla KirwanThe Doctor arrives in London on Christmas Eve in 1851 where he encounters the Cybermen and a man who claims he's a Time Lord called the Doctor.Fine. Jackson Lake makes for a great character and it's great seeing the cybermen again, however the pacing and story just can't hold me forever.
- DirectorJames StrongStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanMiranda RaisonThe Doctor and Martha travel to New York in 1930, where people have been mysteriously vanishing from the streets, and an old enemy resurfaces.Weird at some points. The Daleks are poorly handled, but it's still very enjoyable and well written, just strange conceptually.
- DirectorCharlie PalmerStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanDean Lennox KellyThe Doctor takes Martha to London in 1599, where William Shakespeare's new play is being used by three witches in an evil plan.A bit too slow and has really dumb stuff in it, but the characters still shine and the direction is good.
- DirectorGraeme HarperStarsDavid TennantCatherine TateFenella WoolgarWith a 1926 dinner party turning into a murder mystery, The Doctor and Donna Noble get the chance to meet Agatha Christie on the eve of her well-known 9-days disappearance. Not too exciting. The mystery doesn't work, due to too many plot threads and the reveal is just stupid, however the character moments and production design are great.
- DirectorRichard ClarkStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanGugu Mbatha-RawThe famous Dr Lazarus has appeared to discover the secret of eternal youth - but do his experiments hide a sinister secret?Passable. The monster looks terrible and the setup doesn't really work, but at least the Doctor and Martha are still well done.
- DirectorEuros LynStarsDavid TennantJohn SimmBernard CribbinsWith almost everyone on Earth now recast in his image, The Master controls the Earth. He's shocked however when he realises one person hasn't changed; Donna Noble. The Doctor soon understands what the pounding in the Master's head is; it's the Time Lords, who are trying to return and re-establish Gallifrey. If they succeed, it'll mean the Last Great Time War will re-start, and all the horrors which came with it. In order to stop Rasillon's mad plan, the Doctor must make a choice. Finally, the Ood's prophecy for the Doctor becomes true, and he takes the TARDIS on a trip, to see friends for one last time, before he's to regenerate.Extremely conflicting. I love the treatment of Wilf, The Master and Rassilon. The direction and editing are great, however the comedy and writing are poorly handled. The plot can be really dumb, some of the pacing is WAY too stretched and the overall treatment of the Doctor makes him selfish and arrogant. A good Doctor Who story, but a bad regeneration story.
- DirectorEuros LynStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperPauline CollinsThe Doctor and Rose are transported to 19th Century Scotland, where they meet Queen Victoria, and try to protect her from a ravenous werewolf and a band of assassinating warrior-monksToo goofy for me. I liked the historical accuracy and Tennant-Piper banter, but it's just a generically plotted episode.
- DirectorJames HawesStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperCamille CoduriIt's Christmas Eve, but this is to be a far from silent night - the cruel Sycorax have come to Earth to enslave mankind and, as ever, only The Doctor can stop them. Unfortunately, he's lying in a coma in Jackie's home...Really boring throughout most of it. Awesome whenever the Doctor's around, but still very dull.
- DirectorJames HawesStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperCamille CoduriThe Doctor and Rose arrive on New Earth and meet old friends and enemies in a hospital which can cure every disease. But the cures come at a terrible cost. The Villains really sucked and the episode suffered from lazy designs, still some good Doctor moments, but not enough to save it.
- DirectorRichard ClarkStarsDavid TennantFreema AgyemanArdal O'HanlonThe Doctor takes Martha to New Earth, where she is kidnapped by two carjackers and taken to an underground Motorway, where the remainder of humanity on the planet live in perpetual gridlock.Extremely dull. Badly edited and lazily plotted, the only thing that saves it is the end of the episode.
- DirectorEuros LynStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperMaureen LipmanAs the coronation of Elizabeth II nears, the streets of London live in fear. Faceless people are stolen from their homes in the night and something evil is lurking in the television. This story is cringeworthy. Lame villain and dull aesthetic, but luckily The Doctor has some good moments and there's good production design.
- DirectorEuros LynStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperNina SosanyaWhen children vanish into thin air in 2012 London, the Doctor and Rose find the answers in a seemingly ordinary household and a girl whose drawings can come to life.It had a unique premise, but I thought the alien was annoying and the whole thing was inconsequential. The acting sucks, the dialogue is bad. Not good.
- DirectorDan ZeffStarsDavid TennantBillie PiperCamille CoduriElton Pope is an ordinary man intrigued by the world of the Doctor. When he and fellow enthusiasts - L.I.N.D.A. - meet the mysterious Victor Kennedy, their lives will never be the same again.Terrible.
