- What would happen today in a society which defines itself Catholic and Christian if Jesus really came back as announced in the Gospels? Who would take him seriously? And what difficulties would Jesus encounter today to be recognized?
- In the 18th Century, John Cavendish, a Scottish adventurer, arrives in Tuscany and makes his fortune from his expert knowledge of botany and agriculture. In the present day, Marcus Cavendish, an American painter and playboy with mounting debts, receives a letter from Chiara Conti, an Italian solicitor, who reveals to him that he is of the Cavendish blood line. She tells him that he is the heir of Peter Cavendish, the last descendant of John Cavendish. Believing that this potential fortune may solve his money problems - and may even sort his head out - Marcus travels to Tuscany to get his inheritance. Having arrived at Cavendish Castle, Marcus thinks he has solved all of his problems, but discovers that he has to fight an ancient evil that has tormented his family for centuries, so he realizes that money, property and land mean little when faced with a blood curse as a surprise inheritance.

And when all seems to be lost, they find the solution which was right under their eyes: a glass of Bianco di Babbudoiu.

The only exceptions are Mattia and Melania, his two roommates with exuberant personalities, who urge him to open up to the world: He will not be able to do this until he meets an elderly lady, who witnessing an act of bullying on the boy, reacts with humor by displacing and causing the bullies to move away. So Gabriel decides to reopen himself to the world and finally let go of his friends, who are nothing more than two characters from a life he had made up in loneliness.
- A water polo champion, Umberto, famous for his "Eagle Strike" during the 1996 Olympic Games, ends up in a coma after receiving an elbow to the head during a match. Twenty years later he makes a miraculous recovery but cannot remember anything about his past fame. He remembers the love that he has for his family who, to him, seem suddenly aged. He also discovers that he has become a grandfather. During his difficult recovery, he is invited by his old teammates, who have all become water polo coaches and team managers, to coach a low level women team. Persuaded by his newly discovered granddaughter to coach the team, he embarks on a comical journey of sporting drama in which he has the name but very little actual talent left to achieve his goal.
