When both Michael and Brenda come to the point of declaring their mutual attraction for each other, Michael makes a confession: that he is already involved with someone else. Willing to risk getting hurt, Brenda still decides to get involved with him for however long he is in New York. But both Michael and Brenda have to decide what to do once his assignment is completed and he is ready to head back to Washington. For Brenda, what may factor into her decision is how painful the thought of saying goodbye to Michael forever ends up being.
- Rhoda and Joe plan a romantic weekend vacation. There is just one problem with them getting away: Mary Richards shows up for a surprise visit.
