At Star Wars Celebration 2023, "Russian Doll" creator Leslye Headland presented her plan for Jedi mystery-thriller series "The Acolyte" and mentioned that the series is a dream come true for her teenaged self, who long ago wrote Star Wars fan fiction. IMDb had to ask Headland and her incredibly talented and energized cast, including Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Charlie Barnett, about the old fan fiction and if they believed any of it inspired the show.
